Question about receiving International calls

I was waiting for a call from Europe (I am in the U.S.A.) and the caller states it rang busy.  He tried twice to call my Skype number before reaching me on my cell phone.  I know the phone wasn't busy because I could call it from my American cell phone number.
Do I need to enable or subscribe to international calls to receive them?  I have an "Unlimited US & Canada" subscription.
Thanks.

I'm sorry for such a thoughtless question.  My privacy settings were blocking this incoming call.

  • Question About Receiving Calls

I thought I posted this today, but I can't find it. Why is it that when I receive a call, that as soon as I hang up the phone goes to my phone favorites?? Why does it do that? Why will it not go to my home screen where it was? I am missing a setting somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Not with my phone.
    1. Open Safari. While using Safari, call your phone from another line and answer the call. End the call, and the screen goes back to Safari.
    2. Open Phone app, select the dial pad, close Phone app with the home button and lock your phone. Call your phone from another line, answer it and end the call. The phone then relocks. Unlock the phone and it will open to the dial pad screen.
If your phone doesn't do this, do the usual troubleshooting steps as needed:
    1. Reset the phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Restore in iTunes from a backup
    3. Restore as a new iPhone.

    thx for info.....

I'm not sure I understand you entirely, but you could put the CDs on the computer with a CD ROM drive and then boot that computer as a firewire drive to the computer without a CD ROM drive and then copy your music over.

  • Can't receive International call which is on saved...

I hope someone can help me with this problem.....
I have a BT phone that has automatic barring of certain  types of calls (withheld numbers, etc).
However, I do not have International calls barred as my brother lives in France and I did not want him to run the risk of being barred.
He is also in my saved list - his number starts 0033 for France then his own number.
If I call him from my saved list it connects ok (i.e. the number saved is correct).
However if he calls me from the same phone his call is barred - it is not shown in the display as one of my saved numbers AND it gets barred as an International call despite this feature not being used.
To be honest I don't want to get two different problems mixed up here so if someone could just tell me why he isn't being recognised as being in my saved list despite the saved number apparently being correct, then that would be a start.
Can I also mention that my other saved numbers (i.e. UK numbers) all come through ok and are displayed accordingly.
    rrsvp with any ideas please....!

International caller display has not yet been implemented by BT, which is why you are getting the problem.

  • Charges for receiving international calls

Can you tell me if I receive a call from Germany on my cell phone, will I get charged anything other than minutes? Is ther a per minute charge for receiving a call?  If so, how much?  If not, awesome!
I just have a normal Nationwide (US) plan on my phone.
    Thanks!

If you receive the call within the Verizon network in the US, then it is just charged as minutes. If it is on the weekend or after 9PM and before 7AM, then it will not count against your monthly allowance.
Additionally, if it is from another Verizon cellular phone, the minutes should not count against your monthly allowance.

  • Receiving international calls

Hi there, Will it cost me money ontop of my monthly bill to receive a call from a friend using a mobile in Australia?

No, you're not the 1 who's roaming; he is. He pays extra to call & receive.

  • Question about Wi-Fi calling (UMA)

I am a current T-Mobile customer and I am planning to switch over to Verizon pretty soon. I currently own a T-mobile G2, which has wi-fi calling enabled in Android. My question is do the Android phones that Verizon sell have this feature unlocked? Reason why I ask this question is because wi-fi calling is really convenient for me in places that I go to where I do not have cell coverage, but do have access to a wi-fi connection to make my phone calls.
Thank you in advance for responses.

    Good Morning!
I'm so glad to hear you're making the switch to Verizon Wireless! At this time, Verizon Wireless does not directly support wi-fi calling as a feature, however I do believe there are 3rd party apps in the Market that may do this. Keep in mind, Verizon Wireless' reliable and vast network ensures you'll have coverage pretty much where ever you travel in the U.S.

    I hope that helps!
    Thank you!

  • Stupid questions about keeping important calls on the FX application thread

I'm working on a project that I've been developing for about the last 6 months. I'm using JavaFX as the graphical side, but I'm taking input from a music processing program called Max/MSP, and I'm getting user input from a camera. Both of these things need to run on separate threads from my FX application thread. Up until now, things have been going smoothly. I can manipulate things on screen from my user input, and I have two way communication working between my JavaFX application and Max. Now, however, I need to start actually drawing stuff at runtime. Up until now, pretty much all FX side manipulations of been to just make translations. I now need to create, add, and remove children from Nodes. So I'm of course getting an error saying "not on FX application thread". I understand why it isn't on this thread, and why this is a problem. So I made some changes, so that calls that will make changes to the nodes on the stage, will only note the data, and then make the changes later, on the FX application thread. And then I run into problems, involving my own stupidity...
I have no idea how to get these calls onto the FX application thread. I mean, this should be really easy. I'm obviously missing something. Or maybe I'm just really tired, and have been looking at this for too long, or maybe the fact that it's been 6 months since I wrote this part of the code. But I see my Mainstage class, which extends Application. It has a start function, which sets up all my on screen do-dads (extended from Nodes and such), calls stage.show()... and then seems to end. When I've done things like call translate functions on my nodes from my user input thread, or from my communication from Max thread, things seemed to have worked. But now I'm thinking I might have been handling that wrong from the ground up. It seems likely that I should be having a "main game loop" (it isn't actually a game, but still, same principle) where I can tell the stage to update all the various nodes with the changes that have happened since the last frame, and try to get everything to update in time for the graphics to render at a reliable frame rate. And yet, I'm just not seeing how to do that. I'm sure this should be obvious, but I'm flat out blanking. And the time crunch is starting to descend... Please, if you can point out some standard way of avoiding this hopefully common newb mistake, I would greatly appreciate it!

Checkout the documentation on "Pulse" in the JavaFX Archictecture overview which may help clarify some of your questions.
    http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/architecture/jfxpub-architecture.htm
In simple terms, as I understand it, the framework will check 60 times a second if anything is dirty and needs repainting. If everything is clean, it will do nothing. If something is dirty, it will repaint it (although the repaint is kind of clever and highly optimized to support region image caching, make use of hardware rendering, etc).
So you can see that the main rendering loop is essentially hidden from you. Instead you construct a SceneGraph, the system checks regularly whether or not the SceneGraph has changed, and if it has it renders the updated SceneGraph.
In most JavaFX applications, you have a UI with controls and add event handlers which respond to control input to update the SceneGraph. In such programs, creating a main loop is unnecessary.
You can set up an animation timeline say at, for example, 30fps (half the pulse rate), then, on every other pulse, nothing will have changed so no redraw will happen. This is only necessary if you are performing an animation or capturing camera input, etc yourself (rather than using a Transition for example).
Actually, if I get my state changes working properly in a runLater call, do I need to also write a main loop? No, you don't need to write a main loop. Depending on the exact application, you may want one, but if you are already getting events generated by your camera input at 30fps, processing each 30fps from the camera in a runLater call would work fine without creating a loop.
But you do need to be careful that you don't send too many runLater calls and eventually overload the JavaFX event queue. For example it makes no sense to make more than 60 runLater calls a second to update the scene, because the system will never update the scene more than 60 times a second anyway.
If you do get a working camera app integrated with JavaFX, please post or blog about it as I am sure many people are interested in such an application.

  • Some question about receiving messages from Skype ...

    Hello there,
I have a question or two about recieving messages from Skype users, who are not on my contact list"
    1. If I have enabled to only receive messages from people in my contact list, will they be notified when they try to send me an instant message, that they need to add me first?
    2. Will I still be able to see messages sent by contacts who are not in my contact list and them see my messages*, if we are both in a Skype conversation group but not on each other's contact list? *The messages either one of us posts in the Skype group conversation
    I appreciate the information
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. The person sending this message will not receive any notification about failing message delivery. The message will just disappear in nowhere.
    2. Messages exchanged in group chats will be seen both by you and the other person, even if this person is not in your Contact List.

  • Question about Receiver Determination step in BPM

    Hello all,
I have a BPM process similar to Multicat BPM Pattern.
I have some questions regarding how the Receiver Determination works:
    1. Does it have to have interface determination in the Integration Directory?
    2. Does that interface determination (including the mapping) takes place when sending a message to a receiver from that Receiver Determination step,
or should I perform a Mapping step explicitly in the process?
    Thanks ahead,
    Yoav.

    Yoav,
Am not sure if I understood your requirement compltely.
<b>Case A:</b>If you are using a send step without a Transformation Step.
Then <b>Send will have message A</b> being sent out from BPm and then , during Interface Determiantion this will be transformed into Message B by Mapping in Interface Determination and this message B will be received by receiver
<b>Case B:</b>If you have a transform and then a Send
In this case, the mapping has been done, so you have the message B with you and so, <b>them message sent from the BPM will be message B</b>Hope this clarifies,
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

  • Another question about receiver determination

    Hi friends
Can we add a new receiver to the list of receivers in the  receiver determination , based in some condition only for this new receiver.
Let us say we have the message 1 sent to receiver_1 and receiver_2 no matter what , but the message 1 should only be sent to receiver_3 according to some conditions.
my question if I can only put condition for the receiver_3 receiver determination , or do i have to write a UDF for mapping of the receiveres.
    Thanks

Can we add a new receiver to the list of receivers in the receiver determination , based in some condition only for this new receiver.
yes you can add list of the receivers in the receiver determination , based on  some condition .
my question if I can only put condition for the receiver_3 receiver determination , or do i have to write a UDF for mapping of the receiveres.
dont need to write any UDF's . u have to use Context Object/X-Path for REC3 in rec.det
    for ex: field1 = 1000 -> rec3
       field1 =900 ->rec1

  • A question about external microphone called "thumbtacks"

I recently bought one of those small microphone the size of a pin called thumbtacks, is great small and easily comfortable. Those microphones feels like the Itouch has an built-in microphone on it, I tested it on several recording apps works great. I even tried it on shazam and it works like a charm, but I didn't get much luck was on the VoIP apps like skype among others.... I don't know if I was the cause of it not working or because I mistakenly thought it will work on VoIP apps. Everytime that I try using the skype app there appears like an iPhone calls features like mute, speaker, among others button on the screen while on a voip call. I tried pressing the speaker icon but nothing I couldn't hear the other person speaking, they could only hear me. Am I doing something wrong or I might need to return the item?
Thanks to all, and any help I would appreciated it.

    John--
    **gentle chiding tone in voice**
Come on--you've been here long enough to know that Christmas weekend means questions aren't always answered in a few hours.
    **more serious tone**
I don't have a thumbtack mic; I'd like one. But my understanding is that they are designed for recording, not VoIP. They don't look like they're engineered for VoIP; you might have better luck with earphones with mic combo.
Blessings to you in the New Year--I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts!

  • A question about the face call through wifi

Hi I'm currently waiting for iphone4 in Korea
one of the main reasons for me to buy iphone4 is
I can use face call(I know it isn't the official term but
I hope everyone understands what I mean) for free through
wifi. So right now my biggest concern is that does the free face
call exclusively possible inside of the us or does it possible
internationally through wifi. In other word does the face call possible
between the iphone4 user in Korea and in the us?
I'll study in the us and my parents stay in Korea. I hope the face call
will be possible between me and my parents. Thay way will very much
narrow the geographical gap betwen me and my parents.
    Thank you.

I think it will be, I saw a post I think on engadget.com that shows the possibility. The guy was using a mifi in I think the UK and the other guy was in the states. It was possible but it had hiccups. I have not seen a wifi to wifi in two different countries as of yet. But the mifi to wifi in two different countries yes. The study was done to see why Face Time was not available when using 3G service and it clearly showed it is possible because the mifi uses a 3G signal which is translated as a hotspot.....There also may be international laws in certain countries that block it.

  • Question about the time calls

Hi, I have iPhone 3Gs and I want to see how many minutes I have outgoing calls because the iPhone has only a total time in which they received calls and outgoing calls. Please, no free APPS, which it calculates?
p.s.: I'm sorry for my english

You know, iphone maybe is the best phone ever... and it doesn't include this very simple feature. Unfortunately the only way to solve this issue is by jailbraiking which is not supported by apple.
I hope (and I really mean it) in the next version apple include that feature which is included in all cheap mobiles.
