R12 Up Grade benifits for Purchasing, iProcurement,Inventory

We are planning to upgrade from 11i to R12, can any one help me what are new features in R12 for Purchasing, iProcurement,Inventory and waht are the benifits if we go for upgrade.

    Go to transaction code SAP1, this will show all the reports functional area-wise.
    For purchasing reports : Go to Material management --> Purchasing
    For Inventory management reports : Go to Material management --> Inventory management

  • URGENT : Please help: Purchasing and Inventory loads

    I am currently in BWQ. I did the inital deletion of set up tables by LBWG and then ran the set up jobs through SBIW for Purchasing and Inventory.
    I also did the industry setting and processkey .
    I ran the init load yesterday and it gave some records and then deltas brought 0 records . For some reason I felt that there should not be 0 records and I went and deleted the set up table again and ran the set up jobs. I can see records in the set up table and RSA3.
    But when I am running the load today it brings 0 records. I thought may be the delta ran this morning so it brought 0 records. therefore I ran the full repair reuqest but still there only 0 records.
    Can someone explain this and advice what needs to be done.

    Initially when you loaded init data you got some records and delta brought 0 records. This is logical if there are no new records creates in R/3 system or you have not executed delta collector job - Job control through LBWE for a particular application.
    Now carry out following steps for purchasing data loads -
    1.delete the setup tables using tcode LBWG
    2.perform set up for the purchasing in background mode
    3.check the job log for step 2 in SM27
    4. find out no of documents written to setup tables for purchasing using tcode NPRT
    5.Now load the init load to BW- this will load the data that you have covered under setup tables
    6. Now create/change some data in R/3. This data must be withing your init range used in init infopackage. If you have done init load with no selection parameters then no problem.
    7. Run job control for purachasing in LBWE
    8. Now load the delta load -> it should load the correct delta data into BW.

  • Material Master for Purchasing - any reason to create Sales Views?

    We use the Material Master on the MM side for Purchasing and Inventory management only, no PP, no WM, no transportation management.  Is there any reason to create the Sales Org and Sales:General/Plant views for stock items?  We had a procedure earlier and were inputing the Availability Check, Trans Grp, Loading Grp on Sales:General/Plant views, but don't see any current or future use for that information.  Do you see any reason to continue entering these 3 fields?

    You will need to enter the information in the sales views in case you want to perform any stock transfers between plants. Also you need to maintain the sales information in case of any customer sales. Otherwise, there is no need to maintain the sales views.

  • AME for Purchase Requisitions

    Hello All
    I am in the process of setting up AME in R12.1.2 for purchase requisitions and got struck with an issue
    My requirement is to route the requisition to a particular job based on the item category and the requisition total. I setup conditions, action types and approval groups and then the rule.
    When I used static in my Approval Group setup it works fine with out issues however we do not want to use static as employees keep changing and want my approval driven out of the job hence updated the approval group to use Dynamic usage type and used the below query to pick the name of the employee based on the job.

    paaf.person_id = papf.person_id
    and sysdate between paaf.effective_start_date and paaf.effective_end_date
    and paaf.job_id = pej.job_id

    Now when trying to create a requisition it shows up a message that "Approval List could not be generated. Please contact your System Administrator to review AME rules setup."
    When validated the above query it says query is valid but still not working. I even tried with person_id but still no luck

  • Accruals for Purchase Orders

    Hello All,
    I have a couple of questions about accruals, our Apps. version is 11.0.2, we have set our Accrue Inventory Items set to On Reciept. We would like to set the Accrue Expense Items to On Receipt also. I have done some research on the issue, but I still have some questions?
    1) Currently, in our system the Accrue Expense Item is set to On Receipt. An accrual
    expense account has been assigned. To date, to start accruing on our PO's, is this the
    only step left is to run the GL Import?
    2) Since this will be the first time we will be accruing on our PO's, how will this affect
    our system?
    2) I also read, that it is not a good idea to have both options set to On Receipt? Why? I
    have not been able to find much info. on the subject and we must set them up this way.
    3) I have also read that there is no intergration between PO and PA, therefore the accruals
    can not be recognized in PA. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the info.
    into PA?
    Any infornmation that you could provide would be great.

    In SAP, there is a functionality to take care of the planned and unplanned delivery costs.
    Planned costs:
    If freight and customs duty costs on purchase can be planned or known ahead of time, these are entered as planned costs on the Purchase Order.
    In Automatic Account Determination for movements of inventory (OBYC), there are transaction keys FR2(Freight provisions) and FR4(Custom provisions) are available. If a condition type,in pricing is marked as provision-relevant, then the accounts maintanined under transaction keys FR2 and FR4 are used to generate provisional entries.
    In addition to freight and customs duty, there may be additional types of delivery costs on a purchase order, you can create provision for other delivery costs using RUE transaction key.
    Unplanned Costs:
    The transaction key UPF is supporting in to post unplanned delivery costs in purchasing.

  • Setup's required for purchasing

    Dear Members ,
    We have implemented GL,AP,AR,Cash Management,HRMS,FA modules for one of our clients.Now we are implementing purchasing and inventory modules for the same client.For this client we have test and production instance.In the test instance I have added "Purchasing Super User" responsibility to one user and I want to play around with this module like creating purchse orders,requistions etc..But it is giving errors like "When-New-Instance-Form" trigger raised unhandled exception,"No Data Found" etc.To get rid of these problems do we need to do whole setup of purchasing ?or is there any other way which solves my problem and allow me to create PO's and Requisitons etc.,
    Plzz help me.
    If I need to do whole setup plzz give me the required setup tasks and guidelines.

    Give some more detail about the error which you are getting(Is it while creating the requisition or the purchase order).You need to do the PO setups.
    Some Imp steps-
    -define Employee.
    -To raise a purchase order Employee must be defined as buyer
    Required Setups
    -Financial Options,(setup >Organizations > Financial Options)
    -Receving Options(setup >Organizations > Receiving Options) &
    - Purchasing Options(setup >Organizations > Purchasing Options)
    -Suppler & Supplier Site should be defined(supply base>....)

    I have a requirement where I need to build a workflow approval service for Purchase requisition.
    I want to build this service using the BOR/RFC option for itemwise approval of PR.
    There are 2 BAPI's BAPI_REQUISITION_GETDETAIL and BAPI_PR_GETDETAIL but I am not getting the approach to get itemwise detailed information of a PR.
    Could you please help me the steps taken to build this service.

    I have configured Workflow Mailer Service for PO Approval and REQ Approval. For PO Approval Mail is coming correctly. But For Requisition Approval , Mail not coming. I have given 'REQAPPRV' in Correlation ID. What is error, did you check log file for details?

  • Posting of variances for purchase for sales order stock (Z)

    Hello
    I have an issue when posting invoices related to purchase order with item cat Z (valuated sales order stock). The material is a standard material with 'Price control' 'S'.
    I would like the variances to follow the goods. If the goods are still on stock, the variance shall be posted to inventory instead of account for purchase variances.
    Logic has to be the same as for production variances for materials with 'Price Control' 'V'.

    With price control S you can never achieve that, unless you have MaterialLedger in Place
    You can not inventorize variances otherwise withPrice Control S

    I have a query on configuration for accounting entry for purchase orders for Trading goods.
    When i do the GR for Purchase order for a trading good, the accounting entries are,
    Inventory Dr
         GR/IR Cr
    and
    Purchase Expenses Dr
         Purchase Setoff Cr
    I understand that i can configure for the first set of posting in  BSX and WRX. How do i configure for the Purchase Expenses and Purchase Setoff.
    Please advise and correct my understanding.

    The possiblity for this scenario is
    First create the Production order in CO01
    Create of Account assinged PO in ME21N with Account assigned category as "F" with Production order
    Do the MIGO with respect to PO, then system will directly post the Stock to that Production order.
    So in the system GR is done for PO & Goods issue is done for Production order.In this way you can acheive this.

    after upgrade our management decided to create the dasboard for purchasing department in SAP R/3.
    here buisness requirement is not only dashboard but they also want to create Purchase orders/contracts etc from the same dashboard screen, so we can say business wants dashboard + workplace for purchasing department.
    i tried my level best to find the solution in SAP R/3..so please guide me..

    here i am looking for dash board as well as workplace for the buyer department in the same screen.
    here buyer can see reports like
    1. open PO
    2. open PR
    3. vendor based list of PO
    4. inventory related reports
    from the same screen buyer can,
    1. create the service PO/material PO from above open PR
    2. or buyer can create RFQ from above PR
    3. or buyer can create contract
    Note : so here once this screen is ready..buyer doesn't need to go any SAP t codes. he can do all his activites from single screen.

    we are trying to face time between devices, but it won't work whn multiple devices are tied to one apple id.
    How do you designate one id to pay for purchases and one so that we can facetime from device to device?

    The ID used for purchasing is in Settings>Store.  This ID does not need to be the same one used for other services such as FaceTime, iMessage, etc. (in fact you're far better off if you use separate Apple IDs for these other services).  To change the ID used for iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a separate (and unique) ID.  You can similarly change the ID used for FaceTime in Settings>FaceTime.  To sycn data with iCloud such as calendars, contacts, etc., without merging your data across devices, set up different iCloud account with different Apple IDs for each device.  You can go to Settings>iCloud and turn off syncing for your data, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the device.  Then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID for each device and turn data syncing back on in Settings>iCloud.
