Re-allocate cost center

when we create expense PO, the user wrongly input wrong cost center, after goods receipt, we realize that wrong cost center is entered during po, the number of affected PO is over 50, and some even finished invoice vorification., how to reallocate to correct cost center, we don't want to reverse goods receipt. thanks

Hi ,
Your FI Account is right ( GR/IR account and offsetting expense accounting is correct ). So , your FI Route is correct .
In CO.. Cost Center is only incorrect ... so use KB21N for manual reposting of costs .
FI/CO reconiclliation will remain correct as the values from FI has correctly being transferred to CO. KB21N effects CO only.. FI is not affected. In FI keep on doing all the activities you are doing .. no need to reverse or correct them..
Only in CO.. correct the cost center to be posted using KB21N .
Please revert back for any further clarifications.

  • PO with discount and allocate discount to a diferent Cost Center

    Hi,
I'm trying to see if there is any possibility of having a line item PO that is allocated to a general cost center, but if there is a discount, allocate as profit to a diferent cost center.
Does anyone knows how to do something like this?
    Regards,
    Pedro

    Hi,
Your idea is very good, but I don't believe it will solve the problem.
What we will have is something like a service, but a discount will be made to the service. And this discount is because the supplier uses something that is ours and because of that makes the discount.
So, we will have something like a cost of 10keur, but then a discount of 2keur, because he uses something that is ours.
With this, financially, this 2keur is a profit for a certain cost center, and the idea is that this profit (or inverse/negative cost) should be assigned to a cost center.
As natural the 10k should be assigned to the normal CC that is in the account assignment.

  • Cost Center cost allocate to CO-PA

    Hi Guys,
My issue is have 5 cost centers departments,(EX FI,SALES , LOGIST & Others),5 products each product have profit center, as per requirement product wise cost center master created each department .
based on above information cost center cost allocate to CO-PA Through co-pa assessment cycles. but without creation of assessment cycles cost directly  cost allocate to co-pa through value fields. mean template allocation is it possible.
how to map this scenario. pls give me solution.
    Regards
    SIVAJI

Remaining balances (under/over absorption) in cost centers can be assessed to respective profit centers/CO-PA using profit center grouping in the cycle segments (KEU1) or using characteristic derivation (KEDR) configuration.
    Hope that helps

  • Cost center planning for overhead calculation

    Gurus,
I have a doubt regarding the cost center planning for overhead calculation.
    My scenario is:
There is a service cost center from which a certain percentage I want to allocate to the products as overhead. Now while doing so I have created a cost center and a cost element of type 43 (internal activity allocation). This cost element is the base for overhead calculation. Also I have created one cost element of type 41 (overhead rates). I have defined the credit (of cost sheet) with the cost element of type 41 and the cost center as mentioned.
Now I am facing a problem while planning the cost center with cost element type 43 through KP06.The system is throwing the error message: 'Cost element xxxx can only be used for activity input'. My understanding is we must carry out the planning for the cost center to allocate a certain percentage to the product cost estimate. If I am not allowed to use the cost element of type 43 to plan, what should I use for the planning?
    Request your suggestion.
    Thanks in advance!
    Snigdho.

    Hi
Since you mentioned catg 43 cost element, I thought you are using Activuty Type
To apply overhead on the product during CK11N, you need not plan any value on the cost center... The values planned in the cost center can not be used as a BASE in your costing sheet....
    It goes like this
    1. Your cost estimate has BOM + Routing
    2. So, the cost elements that you would see during CK11N, can be broadly classified into 3 types
    a. Primary cost ele - Material Consumption accounts for BOM components
    b. Secondary cost ele (Catg 43) - If you use any actvity type in the routing
    c. Secondary cost ele (Catg 41) - These cost elements are parasites... They need some basis to calculate the overhead value... That basis can be either the (a) or (b) above.....
I think, what you are planning to do is Plan Primary cost ele in a cost center and trying to use the same as the Basis.. That wont work!
What you need to do is
    a. PLan the values in the cost center, say, 100,000 USD
    b. Absorb it on the basis of 2.a or 2.b
If 2.b is not applicable in your case, since you are not using activity types, then 2.a is the Only option left for you
    Hope it is clear....

  • Restricting issue of goods to cost center with respect to material type

    Dear Users,
I have a requirement like we want to restrict issue of goods to cost center with respect to material type i.e., we want to issue goods to cost center only through reservation and that too only for specific material types. Is there any standard solution for this, please provide your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Manoj

    Hi Ajay,
    Thanks for valuable input.
I also thought in the same line , but user has the following concern on this:
Assessment Cycle: As per Users, it cannot be used because this will allocate based on allocation basis. But they need, the values that was posted at the time of transaction and as per materials. So it wont be accurate through Assessment cycle,
OKB9: They have different Cost center for different valuation area for the same GL Account.
Hence through OKB9 also, we cannot post directly to COPA.
That's the reason the above option were not adopted.
My other concern to this is:
In CKM3, we have two lines under consumption, one for Normal sales PGI and other is Cost Center.
After doing revaluation of consumption in CKMLCP, we see one line under Cost Center :Revaluation of Consumption Figure"
My question, where can I see that figure whether in any table or in Cost Center report??
If that is also available we can try to match those values and post to COPA.
Let me know your thought on this.
    Thanks and regards

  • Batch not determined in MIGO-Goods Issue for cost center

    Hi,
We are using Batch Determination while posting Goods Issue to cost center. However, when we enter * in the batch field system does not propose the batches.
    We have done following settngs
Strategy type ME01 which is SAP standard
    Batch search procedure - ME0001
Search procedure ME0001 is assigned to movement type 201 in "Allocate IM Search Procedure/Activate Check"
Sort Rule - 01 using charecterstics (ascending)
    Class - BATCH_MASTER created
Characterstics - Size, Shape, Color (No table or field are maintained in Addional Data) assigned to this class.
Material is maintained with classification and batch management active.
Master Data - Search Strategy is maintained using t code MBC1 for stratefy type ME01 (Key combination Movement Type/Plant/Material). Selection criteria - Values maintained for characterstics. Sort Rule - 01
Now when we are issuing goods to cost center and enter * in batch field, system is supposed to suggest the batches (material is in stock and batches are available). However, system does not give pop up.
Am I missing something? Where is the batch determination button as system is giving message to use button?
    Shekhar

    Thank you for the answer.
It gives only one batch and not all the batches. Why it could be?

  • Cost center change in the Asset master record

    Hi
When ever cost center changed in the Asset master record, can it possible what ever the dep that is posted to previous cost center, that will automatically transfers to the new cost center,is there any programme for this,i can use repost functionality in controlling, some time many copst centers changes will happen in
our system,so can any tell me how to automate this.
    Thanks
    Lily

    Hi,
Automatic transfer to new cost center is not possible.
You need to use Distribution or assessment to re allocate the expenses to new cost center.

  • Cost center assignment based on material master

    Hi Experts:
My client wants cost center assignment to be based on material master, for example, SAP system should be configured in a way that when costs arise due to a product price variance, then SAP should automatically post to the cost center for the specific brand instead of posting to only one default cost center. Is this really possible? In OKB9, I am only able to assign only one cost center to the GL account. Because of this, at the end of each month, the accountant manually allocates the costs from the overhead cost center to the respective cost centers for the brands which incurred this cost.
Is it possible to configure SAP to detect that the cost belongs to product A therefore post this cost to Cost center for product A; or this cost belongs to product B therefore post this cost to cost center for product B?
    Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mariam.

    Hi,
For your scenerio, try Derivative rule of Profit center. If you maintain Derivative rule for Profit center with product which is indirectly assigned to cost center.
    For example :
    Product A - Profit center1-cost center1
    productB- Profit center2- Cost center2

  • Cost center distribution

    Hi,
Kindly Advice how to distribute expenses from one cost center to different cost centers
My client was asking for only reporting purpose but amount should not allocate from one cost center to different cost centers
For Ex : 20 G/L accounts are created as a cost element while doing the transaction with this G/L accounts they will assign one cost center
Month end they want to distribute ratio wise to different cost centers but amount should not post to different cost centers
and every month percentages will be change based on that client should get the report
    Is there any standard report?
    Regards
    Srinivas

    HI Mgitur
    Thanks for speedy reply
Actually my client was asking for reporting purpose only
For ex : 2 cost elements are there (G/L accounts)
                  2100000 (G/L)
                  2200000 (G/L)
    In this G/L accounts transaction are done with 100000 (210000 G/L) rs and 150000 (220000 G/L)
While posting the transactions to this G/L accounts the cost center "A" was assigned
Now these amount he want to distribute percentage wise to different cost centers like B,C,D
But this amount should not allocate to different cost centers that amount should be in the same G/L account and same cost center
i have tried distribution cycle in KSV1 t code and run in the KSV5
But in that we will mention some percentages based on that i am getting report properly in the test run mode
Unfortunately if client remove test run button that amount will be posted to different cost centers so it's not correct way and morever every month percentages also will be change based on that client should be change percentages and have to get report based on new percentages
In the KSV1 client cannot change percentages because of configuration issue so he cannot change in the KSV1
Please give me the suggestion for this

  • Cost center to production order

    hi friends
i have material cost on a cost centere A, i want to allocate thru assessment cycle from cost center to production orders. when i enter production order nummbers in ksu1 in allocation cycle as receiver, system give an error that it is "No valid receiver enteries exist".
    sapians

    Hi,
You have to check two things before executing this assessment cycle.
    1. Check the allocation structure whether you have assigned the assessment cost element and
settlement of cost element to ORD (ticked in by cost element box).
    2. In KSU7 you have filled the allocation structure field and received field and tracing factors.
Have a check of the cycle before saving.

  • Transfer price (Internal Reveue to be allocated to Production cost Center)

    Hi  Sap Gurus.
My cleint using tranfer price without activiation material Ledger. The internal revenue should not reflect in Fi.  For that we have created ztable and we will be able to transfer the stock between profit center and we are getting internal reveue to the sending profit sender and expenses to the receiving profit center finaally  balance become a zero,(we are maintaing same gl account while doing transfer price). Now expense in receving profit center should consider as part of produt costing. how to allocate this expense to the production cost center when there is no balance.
    Example
SENDING              PLANT 1                  MATERIAL  123456         MM PRICE (10)   TP   15
RECEIVNING        Plant    2                  Material      123456         MM PRICE (10)   TP   15
While taking STO system is posting with material master price 10, but in the production if they are using that material system should take 5 also . 10 is the cost and 5 is overhead.
    help me out?

These are some few things I found out. Below is the result of a test I carried out when I tried to create a Settlement Rule for a statistical order.
Statistical order may not contain a settlement rule
    Message no. KO188
    Diagnosis
Order 12770, for which you are trying to create a settlement rule, is statistical.
    System Response
Statistical orders cannot have a settlement rule because they cannot be settled.
    Procedure
You could possibly remove the statistics indicator from the order (only if nothing has been posted to it yet).
I may be wrong but I have determined that, for production orders, you will have to use Standard Production Order Type and not a statistical order. The object class has to be production as well.
You will only be able to create a settlement rule if it is not a statistical order with the assignment category as ORD. Also, in your order type: Internal Order - Production, under general parameters, you will have to assign settlement profile 30 which is production order.
You may have to define planning profiles for co production orders, costing variant, valuation types.  Maintain order types using KOT2.  Example:
Order Type:  PP01 Standard Production Order
Order Category: 10 PP Production Order
    Number Range Interval: 1000000000--19999999999
    Settlement Profile: abc
    CO Partner Update: Semi-Active
    Check of Classification
Next Maintain Settlement Profile: ABC Standard Production Order
Check off "To be Settled in Full
    Default Allocation Structure: E.G: EB
Indicators: check off: 100% Validation. % settlement, equivalent numbers
    Valid Receivers: 1 for most
    Document Type: OS Order Settlement
    Create Allocation etc.
Hope this gives you some pointers as to how to proceed.

  • Cost center Assessments

    Hi All,
We are using Cost center assessments to allocate costs.whenever we do cost center assessments with receiving tracing factor as "fixed percentages" then system is posting to cost center as well as PCA.but when we use cost center assessments with receiving tracing factor as "fixed amounts" then system is posting to cost center  only and we dont see any postings in PCA
Is this standard SAP?or anything wrong with cost center Assessments.?any ideas..
    any help is appreciated.....
    Thanks,
    Anusha

    Dear Anusha,
It's not possible either use % or fixed, it has to go to profit center.
Check that in fixed amount cycle same profit center/s assigned to sender and receiver cost center ?
    Thanks

  • Unabsorbed cost on cost center

    Dear All,
Our company product valuation is being done on standard price. Now the management wants a report where it can see the actual cost of the product from sfg level to FG, line item wise.
Now there are some cost remaining on the cost center unabsorbed and we want the same to be allocated to the product manufactured during the period as sustaining cost in the Z report.
Is it possible to do it. Please suggest any other workaround available. We are not using COPA.
    Regards,
    Divraj

    Hi
How can you allocate the costs to products when you are not having COPA??
I guess what you are asking for is to absorb all the costs incurred on the cost center into Production orders... Is that right?
thats very much possible... What you need to do and ensure is
    a. Assessment cycle - Allocate costs from Service cost centers of manufacturing plant to manufacturing cost centers...
The balance of service cost centers should be zero after that... I am not including marketing and other ex-factory costs here
    b. Calculate actual activity price on prod cost centers
    c. revaluate prod orders with actual act price (CON2).... Allow revaluation in Plan Version 0 in OKEQ
    d. Your Activity Master KL02 should have Actual Price Based on Activity indicator
With all these settings, there wil be no under/over absorbed cost in Manufacturing plant
Any marketing and other ex-factory costs can be allocated if you have COPA....Since you dont have COPA, you can subtract the costs incurred on them at a Higher level in your reports

  • Allocation of Costs from Cost center to COPA

    Hi
We are booking costs to a Cost Center with reference to a Primary Cost Element. However, in month end, the same cost has to be transferred to COPA. One of the Characteristics in COPA is also Profit Center.
The issue is that we can allocate costs from Cost centers to COPA through Assesement Rule, system requirement is for Assesement Cost Element, which is a secondary Cost element. In such a case, the PCA Balances, after execution of Assesement cycle are shown with the Secondary Cost Elements.
In a case, I have booked costs of INR 100000 in a cost center 103007 against a Primary Cost Element 423101. Since Profit Center 103007 is assigned in Cost Center 103007, the Profit Center Line Items will show a balance of INR 100000 against cost element 423101 for Profit Center 103007.
After this at month end, we need to allocate costs from Cost Center to COPA. But the requirement is that after allocation also, the balances should be shown against Cost Element 423101 for Profit Center 103007
    Regards
    Sanil

    Hi Sanil
That is not possible.. There is no "Distribution cycle" available for COPA.. In COPA you can have either an Assessment Cycle or an Indirect Act Allocation or a Template Allocation...
I dont know about template allocation as I have never used that, but gut feel says even that wont serve the purpose...
One work around is you allocate from Cost Center to an Internal Order using Distribution cycle... Then Allocate from IO to COPA using assessment... In order to use IO as sender in allocation cycle, use note 605281
At best, what you can do is to use an Allocation Structure instead of one single assessment cost element per Segment... Using an Alloc Str, you can map, say, GL Accounts for Basic Salary, DA, HRA to one Secondary cost element... This way, create logical groupings of GL accounts and map to multiple secondary cost elements
But bear in mind, The more you use Secondary cost elements, the more will be the line items in CE1XXXX table...

  • Default Cost Center

    Hi All
I need to assign a new cost center to the HR module to allocate for payroll costs...
I m not sure what needs to be done but can anyone guide me on this
    Thank you
    Rukshana

    HI,
the IMG path described by Dejan and me lead to the same maintenance transaction so no matter which one you use.
Regarding your additional question, read the documentation to the IMG activity.
Normally cost center information is derived from the employee's cost center assignment in HR so only some specific cases are posted using this 'Define Substitute Cost Centers for Payroll' IMG step.
But yes, there you can change the CO-object assignment, just clarify the business process first.
    Best regards, Christian
