My 24' iMac randomly restarts while I am using it. And this has only happened since I have updated to 10.4.10. So I will be reinstalling the system to 10.4.9 as I think this is the only option. <HOW ANNOYING>

I dropped my iphone 4 in the toilet. I immediately fished it out dried it off and checked for signs of life. After looking very closely I was able to see that while the screen was nearly black everything was still functioning I didnt know I should turn it off its been on for about 4 hours I even charged it b i didnt know if it turned off it it would come back to life after reading about what I should do I immediately turned it off and put it in a bag of rice. What are the chances that it will still work????

When an iDevice gets wet the First thing to do is Turn it Off... leaving it on is not good.
If you cannot Turn it off... go to your nearest Apple Store.

Apps are locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them. You will have to sign in as your brother in order to update it.

Did you managed to solve this issue? Performing a hard reset usually helps.
Press and hold both the Lock button and Home button simultaneously until screen fades.
Continue to hold until the Apple logo lights up.

Did you make sure that the brightness is turned up to max in Settings/Brightness?
Is anything covering the brightness sensor?

See if you can fix it by resetting the device.
To reset, hold the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again.

Try a hard reset, Press and hold the Power and Home buttons until you see the Apple Logo.
If that doesn't work, force the phone into recovery mode and restore using iTunes:

You need to delete here conversation and start another one using her phone number and not her Apple ID. You cannot delete iMessage, you can disable it. If the Apple server still sees her iPod with iMessage on and using her Apple ID, then it will continue to appear to your phone that she has iMessage. She needs to take a look at this support document about permanently disabling iMessage for her account. Can’t receive text messages on a non-Apple phone

My wife just got an iPhone 4s from Verizon and has activated the micro sim for GSM. She's going to Egypt next week and wants to be able to turn off the phone (voice) most of the time (to avoid US friends calling her) but still keep wifi available for receiving emails. I've done a search on the forum, and posts I've seen seem to indicate that the 4s cannot turn off voice while keeping wifi. Right?
If that is correct, then will turning off roaming for voice achieve the same result, since I assume the phone would have to roam on vodaphone (or whatever partner VZN may have in that country) to access voice?

Airplane mode turns off all of the radios: cellular, BT and WiFi. Then, you can turn just WiFi back on.
When I went to Canada in August, I opted just to turn cellular data off. I did not answer voice calls except for the extremely important. Because I did not turn "voice" off, I still got text messages. I had to pay for them but, as I had almost no WiFi, access, it was my best option.

How can you turn vibrate off for just the alarm?

I would like to be able to turn off the vibrate for alarms. I love waking up to music, not to the sound of the iPhone vibrating on my nightstand. Don't see a way to do that, and I don't want to have to turn vibrate on and off every night and morning.

I tend to just have the phone vibrate when on silent mode, as I have it on silent most of the time.If this relates to you, go to settings, sounds, and under the vibrate column, there is vibrate on ring and silent. Turn vibrae on ring off and keep silent on. Just turn you ringer on when you go to sleep. This seems to work for me. If you dont want any calls and thats why you keep silent on at night, then just turn do not disturb on. You can even set it for specific times for example: turn on at 10:00 Pm and turn off at 6:00 Am. Hope this helps more if you tend to like vibrate during the day.
