Re: [iPlanet-JATO] JATO 1.1 - First Tile is not displayed in TiledView.

Hi Shyam--
I'm not seeing this over here. So, we need to figure out why you're seeing
it--I need some more information.
First, what model are you using to back the tiled view? Second, can you
please forward the page and tiled view Java classes and JSPs to my work
address? At what point are you writing the getTileIndex() value out--during
display, business processing, what?
Also, try putting a stack trace in the nextTile() method of the tiled view
to see if its being incremented from somewhere you don't expect:
public boolean nextTile()
if (getTileIndex()==0)
new Exception().printStackTrace();

Hi
We migrated our application from JATO 1.0 to JATO 1.1,
with 1.1 the nextTile() method is skipping the first tile in
tiledView.when printed the getTileIndex() to console , it is starting
with index 1 instead of 0.
Thanks

How do I can remove a gap in first page and display group footer on each page?

in subreport in format for the memo field uncheck keep object together.
You can not force group footers to repeat on each page.
I have not tried this but you might be able to capture the data you want to show in SR page footer and display in main report page footer, using shared variables.

  • First tab will not close and address bar in tab does not update.

The first tab and its address bar are not working as expected. I am unable to close the first tab using the close icon on the tab or by selecting close tab from right click menu.
I also find that the address bar when displaying the first tab does not display the current web address, only text that has been previously written into the address bar field.

While trying to figure out a solution, I removed my themes and I closed the tabs I could, then clicked on the new tab button, doing so changed my original tab into an (Untitled) tab and created a new (Untitled) tab. I then found I couldn't close either tab, I clicked on new tab again, got a third (Untitled) tab, which again I couldn't close. I then closed Firefox choosing not to save. This appears to have fixed the problem; however I do not know which of the above action(s) resolved it.

I sympathize with users trying to understand JATO internals--we do not have

to use the JATO sample application to better understand the range of JATO

Have you looked at the JATO sample application? It is bundled with the JATO

Personally, I think there is little or no value to creating a "domain"
object that itself relies on a JATO QueryModel internally, but hides that
fact and requires use of BeanAdapterModel.
It would be more appropriate (and much less work, and more scalable) to just
derive a QueryModel subclass and add the domain-specific behavior to the
model. In other words, what's the point of creating an object that hides
JATO inside it when you're running in JATO to begin with? Now if the domain
object were doing plain JDBC, and thus trying to be JATO independent, that
would be different. However, you could still implement the Model interface
on the object (or use BeanAdapterModel) to integrate it seamlessly with the
    View tier.

    Craig,
I think it all finally makes sense. First, your assumption is
correct regarding the process flow. The ViewBean will interact with
a custom Javabean which will then in turn interact with a SQL Model
to access the database. So now let me make sure I understand what I
need to do. Basically the custom Javabean will have a method to get
the SQLModel. I would then invoke the setValue method on the
SQLModel and call the appropriate execute method( e.g.,
executeUpdate, etc. ) just like I would do from a ViewBean. Does
    this sound correct?

Not sure what you mean by "interface this BeanAdapterModel ... witha
query model". Does this mean that you have a ViewBean the interactswith
a custom JavaBean via the BeanAdpterModel wrapper, and from the
JavaBean you are interacting with the SQL Model?
So it looks like this: ViewBean > BeanAdapterModel(Custom JavaBean)
    SQL Model > RDBMS
That's what I am reading anyway. Please explain this to me.
Would I need to make direct JDBC calls
from my custom model instead of letting JATO dynamically create
    the
    calls for me?
If my assumptions above are correct, then the custom JavaBean cansimply
use the SQL Model in exactly the same manner as the ViewBean, otherwise,
if no SQL Model is involved, then yes, you need to handle JDBCdirectly,
which is fine, if you do it "right" (connection pooling, result set

So it looks like this: ViewBean > BeanAdapterModel(Custom JavaBean)
    SQL Model > RDBMS
That's what I am reading anyway. Please explain this to me.
Would I need to make direct JDBC calls
from my custom model instead of letting JATO dynamically create
    the
    calls for me?
If my assumptions above are correct, then the custom JavaBean cansimply
use the SQL Model in exactly the same manner as the ViewBean, otherwise,
if no SQL Model is involved, then yes, you need to handle JDBCdirectly,
which is fine, if you do it "right" (connection pooling, result set
    handling, etc.).

There is a JATO class called BeanAdapterModel that might be just
    what

  • First, Prev, Next, Last Display

In NetDyanmics I was able to show or not show the First, Previous,
Next and Last buttons depending on the state of the repeated. For
instance, if the repeated was display the first rows of data and
there were no previous rows, I would not display the First and
Previous buttons. Likewise if the repeated was displaying the last
set of data and there were no additional rows to display, I would not
show the Next and Last buttons.
This was accomplished by using getCurrFirstRow and
    lastRecordIsDisplayed methods of the CSpCommonRepeated.
Is there any way in JATO to duplicate this functionality? I have
attempted to figure out how many total rows the Model had and which
rows are currently being displayed but it appears that the Model only
contains the needed rows for display.
    Any help is appreciated.

    jsmith@E...

    Hi Jason--
The following method will allow you to determine the current position within
    the result set:
    ResultSetModelBase.getLocationOffset()
If this value is 0 or less, you're at the beginning of the result set.
Otherwise, you're somewhere else in the result set.
Determining if you're at the end of the result set is more difficult. One
technique would be to check whether the number of rows in the model were
less than the max displayable number in the tiled view, and base your
decision on this. This wouldn't work if the total number of rows were a
multiple of the max dispaly size, but might be adequate for most situations.
Detecting if you're at the end the result set because of a last() operation
is even more difficult, because then an equal number of rows will be
available as the max displayable rows because the fetch starts from the end
of the result set. In this case, though, you could just set a flag in your
Last button request event handler to hide the button on the redisplay.
Sorry I don't have a cleaner technique for you at the moment. I'll look
into making this easier in the future.

  • Microsoft Live Tiles do not update

I have two different PC systems with Windows 8.1 (with all the updates).
In both systems the Microsoft live tiles "Mail", "People", "News", "Sports", "Food", "Health"
    have the following issue:
Starting from a fresh installation they update as live tiles on the windows start screen.
    BUT
when I click on them for the first time, I get into the app which works fine and after I close it, the tile stops being live. That is, if I click the tile it opens the app ok but then it stops
to update on the windows start screen.
The only solution that I have found is to uninstall and reintall the speciifec tiles again.
But even then the problem recycles. At first the live tile is OK and once I have entered the app and then closed it the live tile does not update.
Note that, of course, all live tiles are set to ON and that other tiles from Microsoft, such as "Weather" and "Stocks", or from other publishers such as Accuweather work and update without problems.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hello,
There could be many reasons for it. You need to make sure that your Local Disk is not full. If it is not then follow the given steps below to solve your problem.
    1) Change your screen resolution to 1024x768.
    2) Run windows 8 app troubleshooter, choose repair.
    3) Unpin the apps, then pin them again
    4) Restart.
I hope the above steps helps you. If you are success then you may restore your previous resolution again otherwise not required.
If the above steps don't help you then check:

While having a perfectly running iTunes and all programs associated, I was notified of the iTunes 10.4 upgrade. After following typical directions, I have had nothing but trouble. First “iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 5)” occurred. Following directions found at https://discussions.apple.com/message/15087646#15087646, I now get the following “iTunes.exe - System Error The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is still missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”, Along with “iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)” I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on HP TouchSmart tx2-1275dx. I was one week away from buying an iPad but not if this is what I have to deal with. Please help

I actually managed to resolve this on my own by downloading iTunes from the Apple website and reinstalling iTunes that way. Here's the link: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ That should fix your problem. Good luck!

  • HT201263 I have restored my iPad (first generation without retina display) and it finishes restoring software but will not stay on for me to restore the data and then shuts off whenever I try to turn it on. I don't believe that it is charging! HELP!

Long story about what happened but basically I was using the iPad (first generation without retina display) to watch TV at one point it had 20% battery so I plugged it in then it wasn't charging and I didn't realize so it got to 5% and shut off. I plugged it in to charge it but it just kept shutting down and showing the apple logo, then briefly showing me my home screen before shutting off again. I waited a while to see if it would charge, while it continued to turn off and on by itself. Finally, I unplugged it to see if it had gotten any charge but it just told me to plug it in again. I plugged it into a different charger, same thing. I decided to try connecting it to a computer and it stopped turning on but it did not seem to charge. I tried restoring it as it said in the article. It worked until it got to restoring the iPad from the backup that I had because it immediately shutdown before I could continue. I tried to restore it a second time but still it shut down! I'm so frusturated and I cannot afford to get a new iPad, I need it for school and there is no Apple store for 80 miles nor do I have any insurance or warranty on it! (Obviously considering it's the first iPad to ever come out.) I really don't know what to do! HELP

  • Content does not display when page first opened

    Hi All;
I have a contenta are/region which I have divided into multiple tabbed areas. I have two main tabs that divide the content into two major topics. Within each of these main areas I have added 4 to five tabs. One set for example holds a calendar, another tab a news release area and a third a content area for holding multiple folders of a department's documentation. The problem I am encountering is that when I first bring up the page all I see are the tabs and no matter what tab area is exposed the content within it is not displayed. For example, I start with the Calendar tab active (the calendar does not display). I then click on to say the document area, which displays all of its content's correctly. When I return to the calendar tab the calendar is displayed. My question... how can I ensure that the calendar (or any other tabbed area's content is displayed when the user first brings up the page?
PS. This is a hot topic since I will be demoing my pages to my managers next week in an effort to convince them that Oracle Portal is the way to go.

When I email the page to our server, the href links are missing.
You email the page to the server?  What does that mean?

  • Error in converting from a PDF (first page does not convert)

I want to convert a PDF to an excel worksheet. The file is some 30 pages this month, the first page renders as a picture, the rest of the pages convert correctly! I have tries converting to other formats but end up with either unusable text or the first page as an image, albeit of the first page but not usable.
I think the graphic at the top of the first page is the cause as the conversion process is looking at the whole page now as a graphic and not 'seeing' the text in the table below.
Any help, ideas appreciated as I have spent hours on the Internet and in front of the pc trying to sort this out.
    Thanks
