Re-optimization Time for Tunnel-TE in IOS XR 4.3.2
We have configured the Tunnel-TE with explicit path options 1 & 2. When we generate a failure scenario in primary path, the traffic switches over to secondary immediately but on the failure restoration, the primary tunnel does not preempt. On further investigation, we found that default reoptimization time for TE Tunnel is 60 mins which is vey high for us.
The tunnel configuration is as below.

While exploring through internet, I came across a forum which mentions 3 options for reoptimization but it is for IOS. The wording goes like...
Reoptimization causes a tunnel to be rerouted in the network onto the more optimal path.
Three triggers can cause reoptimization of the TE tunnel so that it can be rerouted to the better path.
Periodic reoptimization - By default, the reoptimization of a TE tunnel occurs with a frequency of one hour
mpls traffic-eng reoptimize timers frequency interval changes the periodic reoptimization of a tunnel.
Event-driven reoptimization - mpls traffic-eng reoptimize events link-up enables the reoptimization when a link becomes operational for MPLS TE By default, Cisco IOS does not trigger reoptimization when a link in the network is available to TE again, either by configuration or because its state becomes operational.
Manual reoptimization - mpls traffic-eng reoptimize forces the immediate reoptimization of all the TE tunnels on the head end router.
I would like to know that
1. Is there any specific requirement behind keeping the default (periodic) reoptimization timer to 60 mins?
2. I could not find the options for configuring 'Event Driven reoptimization' in IOS XR. How to get it?
3. What are best practice reoptimization timer to be used in the network?
P.S: We are running IOS-XR 4.3.2 on ASR 9000.

Been using an ipad 2 without passcode for quite some time. While upgrading to ios 7, I enabled Find Iphone on the Ipad. It asked for passcode and I gave one. Now I forgot it. Connected it iTunes (on my windows 8 system) with which I sync and that too required an update as old version of itunes cannot read ios7. Problem is itunes does not want to get updated. Some vague error on not having right to write a file in ProgramData folder wheras as an admin i have full rights. Next I downloaded the install file from itunes site - no luck it would not install. Then I tried to remove itunes - it does not want to go. Am at wits end... Is the option only to restore it as a new Ipad?

Trying to connect Airport time capsule to my leopard iOS mac. Downloaded software for time capsule for snow leapard/leopard but still says I need more software. What do I need? I have a 10.5.7 iOS (Leopard). It connects to wifi at speeds in the airport and has plenty of storage capacity and memory.

Problem with Timer in Clock app in IOS 8
I've noticed an interesting change, a bug I suspect, in the Timer part of the Clock app in IOS 8. If I set a timer for say, 5 min, and I happen to check the timer before the alarm sounds, so it is showing on the iPhone, the alarm goes off, But I cannot stop it, cancel it, whatever. I have to go back to the home screen to tap done. This wasn't the behavior before. I suspect is shouldn't be now. Anyone else seen this? Any ideas on how to fix it?
I have a reproducible bug with the alarm in iOS 8.0.2 on iPhone 5. If the alarm goes off when the phone is sleeping I normally can silence in 3 ways: 1) use "tap to stop" on lock screen; 2) use power button to return to sleep mode; 3) use vibrate switch to turn ringer off. However, if I inadvertently swipe down to access notifications when the alarm is going off, when I return to lock screen the alarm can no longer be silenced by 1 & 2 listed above (only 3 will work). Powering off will also work, although I have read here that some are having the alarm remain on even after reboot. I can reproduce this problem as often as I attempt.

How can I get Messages to show the correct time for read receipts?
Messages in Mountain Lion shows the wrong time for read receipts. For example, my iPad will show a message was read at 3:37 pm but if I open Messages on my MacBook, the read receipt shows the time that I opened the Messages app as opposed to the time the message was actually read. This is not too much of an issue if my iPad is handy, but really, shouldn't Messages on my MacBook be able to show the correct time the message was read? It syncs all the other infromation with Messages on iOs.
I should mention that if Messages is running on my MacBook when the recipient reads the message, then it does show the correct time the message was read. It's if Messages was not running and I re-launch it that the read receipt time gets mixed up.HI,
As far as I am aware Messages marks or time stamps an iMessage at the time of receipt rather then the time you got around to reading it.
I will admit that in most cases reading and receiving as the app opens will be near enough the same time in some conversations.
Adding Time Stamps to Chat is what iChat has always done particularly with AIM based Chats.
The "Sync" in Messages is "display on all devices" and after that each iMessages is dealth with separately on each device.
There is no syncing of deleting/dimssing an iMessages or having read it on another device.

Today I noticed an issue with my Reminder app on my IPhone 5s. Using OS 7.1.2. I called Apple, and the tech didn't know what he was doing and just trying different things.The reminder app will not let me set a date and time for reminder. Finally he escalated the call to a senior advisor who was rude, arrogant and unprofessional. He insisted the Reminder App was updated with the new update of IOS September/October 2013. Not true, the issue just started about 5 days ago August 31,2014. Now there is an additional reminder line for reminder entries that I have to use and have to transfer all my reminders manually from the other part of the app. The feature does exist; if I try to set a date and time for the reminder it appears for 1-2 seconds and then disappears.

iOS 7 was released 18 Sep 2013. At this time, the Reminders app was updated (with most everything else).

iPad constantly glitching/freezing/crashing/parts of screen unresponsive - time for a factory reset OR a trip to the Apple store???
My son has nothing but problems with his iPad Mini. It is less than a year old and it constantly freezes/crashes/glitches and parts of the screen are unresponsive. This happens while playing games, watching movies, surfing the net etc etc
The iPad has been in a heavy duty Survivor case from day 1 and has been very well taken care of - so I don't think it's a damage issue
I have tried numerous resets (just holding the 2 buttons) and have disabled every feature on the iPad that might be causing memory/RAM issues (?) all to no avail.
I haven't tried resetting to factory settings as I don't want to lose all the data on the iPad (mostly his game achievements and Minecraft maps that he has worked so hard on!!!)
SO - any suggestions:
1) Take it in to the Apple Store - I have never gone to Apple over an issue, is this possibly covered by warranty???
2) Factory Reset - If I do this can I save all his game achievements/data???

ToddTry this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. P.S. I tried to restore it a few times but it doesn't work.I also can no longer view any Youtube clips, since installing iso6, and it is driving me to frustration! Not only is the Youtube app gone, but safari wont let me view Youtube clips because my device doesn't support adobe, and when I use google, it says the same. I installed Jasmine, and that one keeps saying "Youtube have restricted feeds of this video" which means I can't use that one either! I installed the Youtube app for iPhone, but the screen is far too small.
I have purchased 3 iPads for my household. Unfortunately, I updated 2 of them with ios 6, but thankfully I didnt instal it on the 3rd one. I will have to use my old brick laptop, because my ipad no longer functions the way I need it to. What a complete waste of money!

Where did the multimedia go for my iBooks in iOS 8?
Since upgrading to iOS8 I am no longer able to access audio features for iBooks which have audio embedded on a page. For instance, tapping on an item to hear a sound. The functionality is simply gone for all books I have in my library. Any suggestions?

Everything as it should be!as you can see, the result on the x32 JRE is the expected one. The x64 JRE is very fast but there seems to be a nasty bug in the optimization code for the loops because only with Interger.MAXVALUE there is a problem.
What to do now - can anybody reproduce the error and sould i report it as a bug? Is it only in the Win(7) x64 JRE?

well this is the first time I hear that eclipse uses its own compiler! But nothing is impossible :-) -> as I know now eclipse uses its own incremental compiler :-(.

Setting a specific time for a "hold?"
Is there a way for me to set a SPECIFIC time for a "hold?" CNTRL+D gives me a duration of an effect, but I can't seem to do the same after I add a "hold." Instead, I have to MANUALLY slide the handle of the red "hold bar" until I achieve my desired length. (Which, if your trying to match in a connected clip can be a little unscientific.)
To that end, is there a way to "copy" a hold effect? (Currently, if I copy a clip with a hold, it copies the clip, but not the "hold." Nor does "paste effects" seem to work.)In Mac OS X Lion, it's iCal > Preferences > Advanced > check Turn on Timezone Support
In iOS 5, it's Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > TIme Zone Support > on
The start and end time are in the same zone (and that's the zone associated with the event), but iCal automatically adjusts the entry to local time in the daily and related views. There isn't a way to have a unique timezone for the start- and the end-time in a single event.
