Re: Qosmio G50-10I - I need the service manual

Hi,
Can tell me someone who I can find a service manual
(+you now how to unscrew the notbook+
+i dont care about the Warranty+ )
for my Qosmio g50-10i
Thanks

Hello Athan
I understand very well what you want to do but I cannot understand why you don't care about warranty.
Qosmio G50 is very expensive notebook and you should take care about warranty. The repair is also expensive and maybe you should think about it. Anyway, you can do what you want. It is your money.
Service manuals is not public document and you will not be able to get it or fins somewhere on the net. Maybe you will find some instructions given by some enthusiasts but official Toshiba documents are for authorized services only.
On Toshiba page you can find parts that can be used/upgraded by notebook owner. RAM or HDD exchange has nothing to do with warranty and you can exchange or upgrade it alone.
Notebook keyboard doesnt belong to this category and such parts can be exchanged or ordered by authorized service.
Of course you can find some independent dealer and found and order keyboard on your own.
So, following Toshiba (and any other notebook manufacturer) policy keyboard replacement should be done by authorized service.
I don't know what you want to do exactly but if you want to change just plastic cover on each key you can try to do this. It can be risky because under the each key cover is small and sensible mechanism. If you do this gently you will maybe have luck but the plastic can also be broken.
Mann I don't know what to say. If you have money don't risk with it. Contact nearest authorized service and let them order new keyboard for you. Keyboard exchange can be done in 10 min only.
Be cool, speak with them and I am sure they will help you.

My problem is that there is no synchronization between image and sound (+the sound is late about 5 seconds+)
when i watch TV on Windows Media Center on Qosmio G50-10I
I tried to change the settings on Windows Media Center but some will be escape.

How did you connect this TV to the G50?
Do you use the HDMI cable which provides the audio and video signal together at the same time or did you connect the TV with two different cables (for audio signal & video signal)?
Please check additionally the settings in Realtek HD audio manager which can be found in the control panel. There you can change some sound effects for different audio outputs (HDMI, digital, speakers)
PS: Last but not least install some codecs. I recommend a package called K-Lite Mega codec package

The manual was very helpful. I used the procedure I found there. When I got to step 5 where you check the PSU fans, I see that they try to spin up when the power button is pushed. They don't even get a full rotation before they stop. I guess this means that the PSU has some problems. Up until step 5 the voltages where correct, so I guess just checking one or two voltages does not tell the full story.
I noticed that the pinouts posted here
    http://www.outofspec.com/frankenmac/wire.shtml
did not match the manual. They are the mirror image (up/down) from the manual. The manual matched my pinouts. Also where it says 28v on the frankenmac diagram, it is 25v in the manual.
New PSU units cost $340+, from what I see. The computer is not worth much more than that. I think I will put my money towards a new Core I7 Mac tower, when they come out. I should be able to move the hard drive over. Hopefully the new towers will handle the old hard drives. In the mean time my gaming PC will have to do double duty.

  • Need MDD service manual

Like many people on this forum, I have a MDD G4 that wont start. Reading the various posts has been helpful, but I still have the problem.
My G4 had been working perfectly, until it hung up while running CivIII. Since that game takes over the monitor (can't tab out), I could not force quit. I turned off the G4 using the front switch. From that point on the G4 would not start. I get the single light flash when the power button is pushed but only the first time after the computer has been plugged to power.
I have tried resetting the PMU and replacing the battery. The computer will not start even with the battery removed. Resetting the PRAM can't be done since the computer won't power up.
I see some voltages coming from the PSU (5V and 25V) but I don't know the correct pattern, hence the need for the service manual. I did note that the voltages dissappear after the front switch is pushed. I suspect either the PSU or the front switch, but need to know how to test them.
I have tried to google the MDD manuals, but Apple seems to have wiped them from the web (bad Apple). I see that some people on this forum imply that they have this information. Can I get some help?

  • Qosmio G50 - Repairing windows from the HDD

    Hello all
My laptop - QOSMIO G50 - needs a bit of cleaning up and I was thinking of reinstalling from scratch.
I know I can use the "repair" function which is "hidden" on the HDD which will reset the pc to it's initial installation.
But i still do have a few questions.
    1. I upgraded to Windows 7 quite a while ago. But if the built-in repair function reinstalls the pc to it's initial installation, I presume I'll be back on VISTA and will have to do the upgrade to WIN7 manually ?
    2. More important : when I got the laptop the vendor didn't have anything installed, so when I booted, the installation began. I then got the choice to install either the 32bit or 64bit version.
I didn't think of ever needing 64bit on the laptop so I chose 32bit - which now I hugely regret.
Now, if doing this clean reinstall from the HDD, will it give me the choice between 64bit or 32bit again or will it simply go on with the 32bit version I chose the first time ? Or can I do something else to make sure that I get the 64bit installed this time around ?
    Thanks.
    Lio

    Hi
Before you call tech support I will try to offer some explanation. Maybe this will help you to understand all this.
    So lets go:
    >...when I got the laptop the vendor didn't have anything installed, so when I booted, the installation began.
Of course vendor has installed something. ;) As you can see vendor has prepared two recovery images. After first start you had a choice to choose between two images (32 or 64bit version). If you didnt get any installations DVDs that means your notebook was delivered with HDD recovery image and it was recommended to create these discs. Have you created them?
If yes, how many DVD disc were created.
As far as I know if 4 discs will be created then you will have 32 and 64bit versions. When you start boot-up with disc 1 you should be asked which version should be installed. The same I got with my old Qosmio x300. You can also start HDD installation to see if you will be asked to choose OS version (32/64bit). If not then you can use one version only (already installed).
When you install Vista recovery image it is already activated. After upgrade kit installation you should still have activated Win7 version.
    > I upgraded to Windows 7 quite a while ago. But if the built-in repair function reinstalls the pc to it's initial installation, I presume I'll be back on VISTA and will have to do the upgrade to WIN7 manually?
I dont know which repair option do you mean. If you start HDD recovery option it will install Vista again. After Win7 upgrade the HDD image will not be changed.
If you prefer Win7 I recommend you to obtain Microsoft Win7 installation disc. Check if Toshiba offers all drivers, tools and utilities. So you can install own OS version and be happy.
Using Acronis or some other image tool you can then create own Win7 recovery image.

  • How to install "YUAN FM100" on Qosmio G50?

I recently purchased a new Toshiba Qosmio G50 laptop.
From the first start up Windows keeps giving me a message saying 'Windows needs to install driver software for your YUAN FM100'.
Google suggests YUAN is the company that makes the TV Tuner software - I emailed their support centre a couple of weeks ago, but have had no response.
I can't find the driver anywhere - I've spent ages googling this.
I'm running 64 bit Windows Vista, if that's relevant?
In 'device manager', under 'other devices' Qosmio G50 comes up twice, both with the yellow warning exclamation mark.
Should I disable both of these?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give - please reply using words a 3 year old would understand!
    Thanks
    Steve

    Thanks to both of you.
    Short story - success!
    Long story;
The driver isn't C:\TOSAPINS so I went to www.toshiba.ca (I'd already looked in the .au - Australia site, where I'd bought the machine).
The driver is available for 4 different variations of Qosmio G50 PQG55C, however, I have PQG55A. I downloaded the driver anyway (for the PQG55C 043049) but it didn't work. 'Windows could not find driver software for your device'.
So then I clicked setup in the downloaded utility, and it appeared to install the whole FM Tuner application. I have the impression my PC was asking me for a driver for a program which it didn't fully have, but then I'm a moron so what do I know.
Anyway, all installed now, and it's not asking me for any more drivers.
Haven't a clue how to open or use the FM tuner though...
    Thank you!
    Steve

  • Alternative option to updating the services file on the local computer

    Hi,
Our project needs to add updates to the file C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services in order to allow excel reports to work from the SAP enterprise portal.
The client will need to apply this change in the services file to all the desktop computers of the end-users. They are now asking whether there is an alternative solution to updating the services file on the local machine. Our team does not think that there is one but maybe one of you experts out there can provide some more insight.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Giwan Persaud

For our normal sapgui rollout we never change the services file.
This is only possible if you change in saplogon.ini the MSSrvPort section, the names to numbers:
    instead of
    Item88=sapmsPS1
    you use
    Item88=3600
Then you don't need the services file ( excepte the standard ones which you can rollout once )
    sapdp*
    sapgw*
you to check if this works for Excel also!

  • Qosmio G50 - Does it have Draft-N?

So seeing as I moved house I bought all new wireless-n stuff to match my 2 month old Qosmio G50.
Fired up the new router - hooked in the wife's vie her wireless-n adapter - awsome 130Mb connection :)
Now to my lappy, connection up - yay - hmmm, seems slower then I expected, oh that's because it's only seeing it as a G connection at 54.
I'm running Wep encryption, which I've read may be the issue, but my dongle's working perfectly, is it really true that this laptop can't actually use the stuff I bought to use with it?

i have draft-n enabled, and another pc connecting to it perfectly - in fact with security off the other went up to 270, i'm still stuck on 65 :(
there's no upgrade for the drivers at toshiba that i can see, nor an upgraded firmware fot my router.
so basically i can see the draft n working fine on my router and another compy, mine has it enabled in 802.11n mode enable, i have both n channel widths bands set to auto - though no setting changes make a difference for me here.
BUT when i go down to wireless mode i have 6 options, none of those have n - mine's set on 6. 802.11a/b/g
I've had this thing for a couple of months but I'm starting to think i 'll have to take it back - this is one of the reasons i bought it, and though i have since read the disclaimer on the toshiba site, none of that was mentioned at all by the sales guy.

  • Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control ...

    Dear SapService,
I've installed a BI7.0 (ABAP only) instance on cluster with :
    windows 2003 x64 SP2
    SQL server 2005 x64 SP2
    WAS 7.00 kernel 80
*the service runs with domain user.
I've upgraded to kernel 114 (latest). After the upgrade the ASCS service doesn't start. It throws error:
"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control
    request in a timely fashion"
To solve this problem I've tried:
-go back to kernel 80 but I still get the same error.
-start the service manually on the second node. Still same error.
-restart the two servers and try again to start the service on the
    nodes.
    Any ideas ?

  • Waiting for the service MSExchangeMailboxAssistants to reach status Running

I have to say that the installation of Exchange Server 2013 SP1 has been an emotional experience so far. I have encountered and fixed approximately 20 errors so far and can still not complete the installation.  Errors have ranged from adding a registry
key for "Pickup" to toggling IPv6 settings etc.  The errors haven't been too bad up to now as they're clearly stated in both the setup log and event viewer.  A quick Google search usually gives a few solutions to try and eventually fix
    the problem.
My recent error has been difficult to find a solution to as the setup log simply says it cannot start the "MSExchangeMailboxAssistants" service.  I have tried to start the service manually but the event log doesn't show any messages relating
to the stopping of the service.
    Error:
Service 'MSExchangeMailboxAssistants' failed to reach status 'Running' on this server.
    Platform:
    Windows Server 2012 R2
    Exchange Server 2013 SP1
    Things I've tried:
Starting all Exchange services.  All are working fine.
Started MSExchangeMailboxAssistants.  Stopped immediately without an errors in event log.
Started MSExchangeMailboxAssistants.exe from command prompt.  Wouldn't start as it's a service.
Used cmdlet to increase logging level to "high" and "expert" for all 'MSExchangeMailboxAssistants' services.  Started service again and nothing logged.
    Installed Operations Manager.  Nothing logged.
Manually removed Exchange from server several times and reinstalled.  Cleaned out AD, registry, files, IIS etc.  No change, same error.
Try installing with and without Malware Protection.
Checked IPv6 is enabled on all NICs.
Checked registry settings for quotes around file name.  It does contain the quotes so nothing to fix.
Checked Exchange 2013 SP1 is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2.  The original version wasn't but SP1 is.
I'm all out of ideas now and no error message in the logs to google.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply Exchange Shelly, I really appreciate your help.
Unfortunately, "MSExchangeTransport" failing to start was one of the many issues that I encountered during the installation of Exchange 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2.  I had already visited the website mentioned above (which was very helpful) and
the registry key is already in place.
I did double check the registry after reading your reply just in case and can confirm it's definitely there.
If I could get an error message when the MSExchangeMailboxAssistants service fails to start, I would have a fighting chance.  I've tried increasing the logging level using the cmdlet and the registry but still not seeing anything in the Event Log.

Would it be possible to be sent the service manual for this laptop, as i am fixing one for a friend, which went well, however i cannot figure out how the case goes back together!

    Hi Graham,
I dont think that somebody will send you such manuals.
In my knowledge and according to some threads here in the forum these manuals are not public documents. Only the service providers use the manuals and have access to such documents
It seems you have to google in the internet and possibly you will find useful tips how to fixing the laptop
