    Does anyone out there have any metrics that they have used successfully to measure the effectiveness of their Super User program? I'm looking for tangible ways to quantify/qualify the business benefits that Super Users drive other than the numerous anecdotal benefits we suspect that they drive.

    In addition to the types of metrics already provided, I would recommend going directly to the end users. 
    A number of questions could be asked such as:
    - When you have a question on how to use the system, where do you turn first (super user, manager, help desk, friend, etc.)?
    - If you turn to a super user, how often can he/she answer your question immediately?
    - If he/she cannot answer your question, where do you turn next (super user follows up, I call the help desk, I take a guess at how to perform the function, nothing gets done, etc.)?
    - How valuable is the super user program for you (very valuable, somewhat valuable, not valable, never used it, don't have a super user)?
    The questions would need to be targeted to the situation.
    If the company has a survey culture (they respond to surveys), a simple survey could be used and then repeated.  If the company does not have a survey culture, focus groups or individual interviews could be conducted. 
    Most super user programs are designed to support the end users, so in addition to other metrics, the end users should be involved in the evaluation.

  • How Apple communicate pre-launch product info to their community of users?

    Hey,
    I have no idea whether I can ask you guys this, but I am unsure of who else to ask! I'm in my final year of university, and I have focused my dissertation on the diffusion of innovations - or rather consumers adopting products - using Apple as the prime example (as I am an Apple fanatic!). The main area I am looking into is how Apple communicate with their community of users (especially their innovators and early adopters) before the launches of their products, especially using social media like blogs and discussion boards. I know Apple are already ultra secretive. Could anyone give me some advice or some information on where (like which websites, etc.) they might hypothetically get any news or info on products before they are launched?
    Sorry if this is not allowed to be discussed, any info will be greatly appreciated.

    Basically they don't. New system updates and so on are distributed to people who have signed up and been accepted as beta testers, and who will have been required to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement. Speculation is actively discouraged in these forums, and posts containing it are likely to be removed. Apple don't want anyone outside the testers and developers circle to know anything until they choose to release the information - usually at the same time as the program or update itself is released.
    There are various rumour sites, but that is what they are dealing with - rumours, and only very rarely anything even approaching genuine information. There's a lot of wild guesswork goes on, and just very occasional actual leaks (let alone apple employees leaving prototype iPhones in bars). Sometimes it's right, more often it's wrong, and you have to take it all with a pinch of salt. I'm afraid that this particular area of your subject is a bit of a non-starter.

  • HT201303 Has anyone experienced being a victim of GNU Emacs Api Emulations hacking thru URL's - Feeds - Email - Redirect - Data Scrabling and more? We are unable to stop them because they are super users. They come back and do more damage. Help Please.

    We have been compromised within our businesses from an empolyee that was terminated with GNU Emac Api enulation program that has infiltrated all of our brand new Apple Computers. We made a decision to move to Mac's this year because of all our businesses being internet based and we are in several different platforms that require many different passcodes, email address, bank accounts, etc. It is not one seamless system that would address one email, password, bank account, etc.
    Eacy time we change one segment of our business unit to move to the next one to fix, we go back to check the previous one that we changed and they have already been in the accounts and changed them so that we have to redo them.
    The information is so broad and wide that the only way I know to ask this first questions - has anyone had this happen to them? We have seeked many avenues with law, experts, reformating our 2 momth old systems 2-3 times each and start over. They are the super users of this program and we can not get them out by changing passwords, accounts, etc. They have everything we do and make sure they keep changing it as we work on the next segment. They have cost our small business thousands of dollars already.
    I am a victim of something that even the local forenic authority is stumped because they don't know where to start. We are not a banking instutition or 100 million dollar company to get the help we need. We don't want to find hackers like they have done to us, we want to get them stopped and get us back on track to start getting our businesses rebuilt.
    Lots of stuff, but WE ARE BEGGING for HELP.
    Apple Support today spent 3 hours with us on the phone and our suppot representative was awesome, but they also said it was big and we need to reach out to the Apple community to see if they heard of anything like this crime. They are in the URL's, RSS Feeds and ghosting everything we do.
    I was told by our local Mac support that this was done by someone that was highly sophicated and they did not know many people that could do this type of damage. I can't image that someone in the Apple community would not know of someone that can assist. The one security company we contacted was around $25,000 to fix this aweful crime.
    We just want them stopped and put in jail so we can go back to business before it destoys us completely.  They even installed emacs on all of our Iphone and androids. WE are being taped, video recorded and eery key stroke is recored. They are only taking us down in middle America.
    Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

  • Super users able to approve but not receive the alerts.

    Hello,
    When our customer logs into SAP Business One they get loads of alerts regarding approvals as they are in the approval list.
    The customer was asking, if they remove themselves from the list of approvals so that they do not get the alerts. As a super user could they still be able to go into approvals to approve. The user was a super user.
    This was tested, the result of which showed that if they were to take off their approvals they would not get the message but also they would not be able to approve either.
    The customer suggested that this would be a useful addition to SAP if super users could go in to approve but not get all the alerts related to approvals.

    Account to your description, one your test Exchange account
    with POP mode cannot receive emails. If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.
    If yes, I’d like to confirm if the issue happens internally or externally. And I also recommend the following troubleshooting:
    Check if it can receive emails when you configure the account without POP or IMAP mode.\
    Restart your IIS.
    Check if the issue happens on others.

  • New SAP super user...question!!

    I'm relatively new to being a super user.  I'm trying to reorganize the order of the MICs in QP02.  We have several that are out of order compared to the instrument order.  We are trying to get these to be in the correct order but i'm not sure how to do that.  I was able to use the Engineering workbench to reorder them but it doesn't carry over.  I know i need to do it in the inspection plan but I can't figure out how to.  Any thoughts?

    - If the iPod is signed into the same itunes account that purchased the apps and other stuff they can be synced to the new iPod.
    - App data such as save games and status is included in the backup of what ever device the apps were installed,  They are not included with the apps i our iTunes library.  What you have to do is to backup the device that has the app data you want and then restore the new iPod using the backup  of that device.  You did not state what device has the apps now and thus the app data but most devices can be restored from the backup of other devices.
    - If you purchase apps on the new iPod they will be/can be transfered to your computer if the computer is authorized for the account used to purchase the apps.

  • Super User "Right-Sizing" Exercise

    As many of you know, the Super Users play a tremendously important role during the implementation of SAP.
    We have seen further value from the Super Users as they have been involved in new functionality expansion, upgrades, and enhancements. The also serve as our front-line troubleshooters.
    I have been asked a theoretical question that I'm hoping some of you may have insight or ideas about. The question is "How do we know that we have the right number of Super Users?". This is being asked now that we have completed our globalization project and will soon complete a global upgrade.
    Has anyone made significant changes to their Super User model post-implementation? If so, what did you base the decision on? How did you deliver the change? What worked well, and what didn't work so well?

    Andrew, there is no right or wrong answer here.
    Super users should stay in place after an implementation, and should be used for UAT of small changes that are made.
    Super Users should be used to teach new starters, how to use SAP, and there should be enough cover to cope with sickness and holidays, i.e. at least 2 in each significant team.
    However a super user needs to have a day job, and the pull from the business will come, these people are not IT, they are business people and need to do their day job first, and be a super user second.
    You also need to consider what happens when a super user leaves.
    One nice thing we had with super users is they also were part of the acceptance board for new changes, managers may request a change, but the super user needs to agree to it, this helps in sign off, testing and UAT.
    Super Users are business people who feed into the SAP team and play an important part in the relationship between the two departments.

    You could temporarly adjust the CUNI definition for TST so that it can be converted to seconds. Adjust the notifications to set a valid unit of measure.
    The alternative would be to update the field MAUEH in table QMIH with a valid breakdown unit of measure.

    Can anyone please advise how to remove the Administrator / Super User menu that appears when you right click the Windows Icon (old start button) in Server 2012 R2 - for RDS users. I have searched and been able to disable access to each of these menu items (Control
    Panel, Event Viewer, Run, etc). But I am searching for a way to completely remove the menu. This menu also appears when you use Win-X shortcut.

    You can try following points, might helpful in your case. Go to 
    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows 
    there you will see file called WinX 
    Right click this file and copy then go to
    C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows 
    then paste the file into the folder.
    NOTE: replace YOUR_USERNAME with your actual username.

  • How to add a separate community of user (customer) in the same REALM?

    I have an existing default REALM we have been using for internal users (i.e employees). Now I have a new community of users (i.e customers) but I want to use the same REALM and the same policy but be able to separate those two communities into two different containers.
    current realm where employee accounts are: cn=users, dc=mycompany,dc=com
    I want to be able to add customer accounts in the same realm but I need also those customers accounts to not be viewable when a user perform a search in the directory using the self service console.
    How do i do that? I have been researching the documentation but I'm not looking for what I need.

    I guess that this was the main reason to have multiple realms.
    When users are in the same realm your ACI covering the subtree (cn=users in this case) allow people to search in this realm.
    You could of course add a special attribute to the orcluserv2 or create a new objectclass customer with this attribute. Then - when you create a new user in the realm this needs to ba added. However - this is far from trivial - and furthermore you need to ensure that all tools (eg oiddas) support this - which is even more difficult to accomplish.
    In the past I have done this in the following way:
    Created a subtree cn=regionalmanagers,dc=mycompany,dc=com
    Within this tree I had entries that were composed with my own objectclass. This objectclass contained a group (uniquemembers) and I added the users (cn=John.Doe,cn=Users,dc=mycompany,dc=com) to this group. Then I checked from the application with dbms_ldap calls if a user was a regional manager.

    For the issue you have reported, kindly refer Note 1057873, which will resolve your issue.
    Note says:-

    When trying to open a document a user gets the system message:

    Reason and Prerequisites
    SAP Business One Functionality, Consulting
    Solution
    A document numbering series have been defined and the user have authorisation to the document type in:
    Administration -> System Initialisation -> General Authorisations -> Sales-AR/Purchasing-AP
    All document numbering series are also given a Group.
    Administration -> System Initialisation -> Document Numbering
    Double click to the left of the row to view the existing numbering
    series for the document type. The field 'Group' is here. By default this value is 1.
    For the Groups there is a separate authorisation.
    Administration -> System Initialisation -> Authorisations -> General Authorisations -> Administration -> System Initialisation -> Series
    After expanding the 'Series', give the user authorisation to the
    Serie/Group that is defined for the document numbering serie it is trying to open.

    The Catalog Search UI of SRM that is referred to as UI as aforementioned is a page which is capable of the selection of catalog items is linked from the shopping cart creation.
    Our biz requirement content two scenarioes to processing the purchase requirement.
    A.  Create shopping cart via the catalog (PR) --> SRM PO Process --> SUS(PO and Invoice) 
    This is the standard SRM purchase scenario and we have already implemented that.
    B. Create a requirement document via the catalog (This document is same with the SC but very simple, and we create this function by the own web dynpro program) --> transfer the requirement document to other purchasing system(none SAP)  in our intranet.
    So the key problems we faced are below:
    1. How to connect to the catalog search UI from our own web dynpro program.
    ( If we connect the catalog via the MDM ABAP API, that will make the catalog serach UI could not be used;
    Also  it has been failed to simulate the function of SC's connection to the catalog;
    So we decide to link the catalog serach UI via the URL, the linkage is "http://<J2EEserver:J2EEport>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?sap-locale=EN&HOOK_URL=&mask=&namedSearch=General&username=&password=&catalog=<Repository Name>&server=&datalanguage=EN". )
    2. How to transfer the catalog item data to our own web dynpro program.
    If we link the catalog search UI by URL, we can not find any good method to transfer the catalog item data to our own program.

    Hi Vincent,
    1. Login through manager then Go To Administrator--> System Initialization--> Authorization--> Additional Authorization Creator
    2. Additional Authorization Creator screen appear.
    3. Select any content on right side screen and click on Add Same Level button
    4. Authorization ID : Give any Name
    5. Name : Give any Name
    6. Option : Full/None
    7. Forms ID : Click on Edit Button --> Enter ID for License Administrator 60070.
    8. Click Update and Ok.
    9. Go To Authorization--> General Authorizations--> Select User in which you have block Graph--> User Authorization
    here select No Authorization.
    Just untick supper user check box of other user and give rights
