    Hi skippy2012trev,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    Joe

  • Password Nightmares in Login Screen

    Hello All:
For some reason, my computer is not recognizing the login password for the login screen.
*I get to the point which asks for the master password, which I type in correctly.
    * P.S. The screen says "type the master password to reset this user's password and to unlock FileVault"
    * A screen pops up that says "Changing the password for this user account creates a new keychain to save passwords."
    * I click Ok.
    * The screen is now asking me to enter a new password, verify password, and give an optional hint.
    * I enter a new password and verify, but then the gray window nods side to side.
I tries this several times and nothing is working.
    Any help is appreciated.

You can take some of the steps here, #4, #5 or even trying a #18
Step by Step to fix your Mac
but I suspect your going to first have to create a data recovery drive
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
to get your data off the machine,
then do a #20 to eliminate the bad sectors as that's why your getting the "pinwheel" it's getting a delay reading from the drive, right when your trying to log in too, what a bad spot for it to happen.

I understand that you made an error that caused your desktop to crash.  You tried to do a recovery but it did not work.
You are missing your account login screen to sign in with a password.
When I checked the specifications for your notebook I see it came with Free Dos. HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b009au Product Specifications.
Is this correct or was Windows 8 installed when you purchased it?
If that is correct it will not have a recovery manager to access.  If you installed from a Windows disk you will need to boot to the disk and do Windows repair.
Here is are two links from  Windows Microsoft  that should help you.
Start your computer in safe mode.
How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC .
    Good Luck!
If the notebook did come with Windows 8 installed did you create recovery CD/DVDS when you first setup the notebook?

  • When I type in my password into the login screen I get the rainbow pinwheel and then the screen turns gray and goes back to account selection... How do I access my account?

Today I was doing my chemistry homework when all of a sudden my mid 2011 MacBook pro running Lion 10.7.4 started going very very VERY slowly to a point where it was unusable. I restarted my computer and went to type in my password. When I did this, the computer recognized the password and began to boot yet the pinwheel came on and the screen turned gray and went back to the account selection screen. It continues to do this everytime I enter my password and I can no longer access my account. How do I fix this.

  • How to Assign User name and password to the login screen on button click without user type...

    Hi,
    My requirement is as follows,
I have three inputs which is User name, Password and URL. URL may be like anything like for example gmail, yahoo, hotmail like that.
No need to authenticate the URL. Just i want to place the credentials in User ID and Password controls.
On button click the URL should open in browser and the credentials should place in the controls in log in page.
How to achieve it. Ultimate thought is the user should know the "Password",only admin know the password.
    Thanks & Regards
    Poomani Sankaran

    Hello,
If URL's are internal (not third party) then you can do this by modifying both applications. If you are trying to do this with third party then you have to contact product owner. I don't think there is any code or solution for third party application where
you can set values of controls.
For internal URL's you can create custom web service and call this web service in both the applications. One to get value from first app and then second to set value in another app.

  • [OSX 10.7.2] Lion doesn't display password field on login

    Hi,
I have two accounts on my iMac without automatic login and sometimes, after clicking on the user, the password field in login screen is not shown.
It works only the icon to put the mac to sleep.
The only thing to do is to force shutdown and restart.
I found the problem since I updated to 10.7.2.
This is my Mac: iMac11,1 (27-inch, Late 2009) Intel Core i7.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
Or this is a bug and I expect that Apple will notice?

I can understand if you didn't like my unhelpful comment...as much as I can back it up with fact, I understand this is a user driven community, and that not everything can be answered, fixed, or worked on. I needed to be more patient.
So, I do apologize if my comment offended you. I honestly mean that.
But I am a bit concerned. You are a very popular poster, and I've watched you over many, many threads and I would like to thank you for being so helpful, you do get it right most of the time (which is not always the case in a lot of computer forums) and I would like to apologize...again...if an off handed comment, made in the moment out of frustration and yes a bit of anger, ruffled your feathers.
I'm left with a bit of concern though.... As a senior technical support engineer with a major software company, and someone that has done a lot of consulting work, there are so many things wrong with your attitude, especially if you want to get into the IT field and be successful.
Do you honestly think that YOUR help is SO valuable that you can just choose to giveth and taketh? You're either here to help, or you are here to not help, and learning how to deflect anger, and ego in your clients is a fundamental core skill.
So, if my comment is something your ego can't handle, and you find yourself bristling everytime someone might have a negative opinion, may I also suggest that you do not enter the professional IT world, or that you make positive steps to grow some thicker skin.
With that stated, I don't need your help...I have 15+ years of professional experience and over 25+ years total experience, and have probably forgotten more than you'll ever learn from cutting and pasting from other threads and the Apple support area's.  I thought MAYBE just maybe, someone has run into this issue, and the Apple discussion forums might be fruitful.
I've found one solution anyway, so you can go back to help other people that I'm sure are much more appreciative of you and your ego.
With that said, I think that the only way to make improvements here, is to contribute positively and to be helpful, so you'll see a lot more of me posting, and giving my feedback - so much so that you'll see I'm not the one that's a douche bag.
    Toodles!

  • Long pause after login screen on Mountain Lion

Here's some strange behaviour I noticed on a quite fresh and clean install of Mountain Lion:
There's a long pause (around 10 sec) after I type my password in the login screen until the Desktop is actually shown. The funny part is: if I hit the key for Mission Control during that pause, the I'm able to see the Desktop and interact with it, while the login screen is moved to the side. The Finder is fully usable but as soon as I start an application, the login screen moves back in and covers all until finally the login animation is displayed.
I never experienced that behaviour before and always had the whole boot process in less than 15 secs. Now it takes up to 30 secs until I see the desktop.
I already tried a lot (HardDisk Utility, permissions, LaunchAgents, LaunchDemons, StartupItems etc) with no luck. Theres nothing in the Konsole for this pause.
Any ideas? My world won't crumble about this but I'm curious what might cause this delay.
    Thanks in advance,
    Arroyodorado

I had no luck with that one either. Maybe Mountain Lion is not longer accepting that particular command setting. Thanks for trying to help though. If you ever find out please give me a shout.
    To recap, the Terminal commands...
sudo defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad Clicking -int 1
    and
    # Enable tap to click on a Magic Trackpad
defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad Clicking -bool true
    # Enable tap to click for the active user
defaults -currentHost write NSGlobalDomain com.apple.mouse.tapBehavior -int 1
    # Enable tap to click on the login screen
defaults write NSGlobalDomain com.apple.mouse.tapBehavior -int 1
... have not worked when using OSX Mountain Lion.
Has anyone else got any other options we could try?

Macbook pro recusing my password on the login screen after a system crash. I use filevault2 and efi with password too. None of the passwords are being accepted and the recovery key text field don't let me put numbers. Can anyone please help?

I misunderstood your question. It's not your FileVault password that's the problem, it's the EFI password.

  • How to Bypass Windows 7 Login Screen When Forgot Admin Password

When forgot Windows 7 administrator login password and be stuck at the login screen what can you do? Believe that many people have encountered such a situation where they are locked out of their own computer for forgotten Windows administrator password. So today I would like to talk about several tricks on how to bypass Windows 7 login screen when forgot administrator login password. Trick 1: Reset Windows 7 admin password with password reset diskIf you have ever created a Windows password reset disk for that administrator account before you forgot its password it is easy to use it to reset or remove its password. Just insert the disk into your locked Windows 7 computer and click ¡°Reset Password¡± link on the login screen. Then follow the password reset wizard to perform password reset. This is the easiest way to bypass a Windows login screen when forgot administrator password. Trick 2: Change Windows 7 admin password in Safe ModeIf you have no password reset disk you have to look for other tricks to bypass your Windows 7 administrator password. So if you have enabled the built-in administrator account you can enter Safe Mode by pressing F8 when your computer is booting. And access that built-in administrator account to change other user password. Trick 3: Bypass Windows 7 Login screen with Windows Password RescuerIf the forward 2 tricks don't work, it is necessary for you to use an effective Windows Password Recovery tool like Daossoft Windows Password Rescuer. Steps are as below.Step 1: Download and install Daossoft Windows Password Rescuer into another accessible computer.Step 2: Launch this tool and follow its instruction to burn it to a USB/CD/DVD flash drive.Step 3: Boot your locked Windows 7 computer from the flash drive.Step 4: Follow its instruction to reset/remove your Windows administrator password. Detailed video tutorial :How to Remove or Bypass Windows 7 Administrator Password - Forgot Windows 7 Administrator Password

The methods above don't work at all. Eventually I used a paid tool - PCUnlocker Live CD, and it successfully bypassed my lost admin password.

  • When trying to reset my login / password, text in red says not connected to internet please verify connection, when the macbook air IS connected to wifi.

    cannot reset forgotten login password.

You don't need to be connected to the Internet to reset the password.
Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
    resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is active.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but the Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as the login password), there's no way to recover it.
