Re: Toshiba Configuring System

this is for windows vista:
let the Configuring System run a few times... who knows what its doing...
on the 5th or 6th time the computer reboots and config setup is running hit "windows key" to bring up start bar. right click on "scripts" icon running in the system tray and exit the running script
remove b1.exe from startup
reboot.
the only thing that remains is a "sys prep" utility. i could not find a way to stop this from running everytime the computer reboots, BUT, you can simply cancel the process and it goes away.
if anyone finds a way to remove this "sysprep" exe, please reply to this post.
thx

I have been using computers for 20 years now and had come to regard Toshiba laptops as very special machines.  Now that  I have one and am trying to use the 5 DVD recovery media, it feels like Toyota is completely absent from their obligations to their customer.Where is a Toshiba moderator?  It's as if this company is being run like a kid runs a lawn mowing business - a very dumb kid.  Toshiba needs to give me a reason why I should ever bother with this brand.  It is the worst service and support that I have ever seen on the Internet.

  • Computer shut down during "Toshiba configuring system"

I did see a similar thread, but I didn't want to hijack it and my questions are a little different.
So first of all, I reformatted the computer to "out of box" factory settings because I had a virus, the virus can't get into this hidden partition right? (it was antispyware soft if that matters)
2.I closed the lid of my computer while it was doing the toshiba configuring system thing, and I'm on it now and everything SEEMS fine, but did that driver or whatever actually get installed? Will something go wrong down the road? Should I just do another reformat?
    Thanks!

Shutting the lid down might have caused interruption on the process for the recovery.
But for "Configuring system", it may take multiple restarts because according  to what Ive searched, the computer restarts upon completion of a software and do the same thing over and over until everything is installed.

  • Configuration system failed to initialize

Getting error when I try to install an excel addin that I have published.
Error message is  "Configuration system failed to initialize". The popup window has the title "visual studio tools for office solution installer"
To publish the addin I  use the publish option on the build menu of VS2013.
Specify the location to publish this application:  F:\publish   where F: is a USB drive.
What is the default installation path on end user computers:  From a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
Then I take the USB drive to another PC, double click on setup.exe in the USB drive and get the "configuration system failed to initialize" error.  I copy the entire publish directory to the C: drive of the target system and get the same error.
    What am I doing wrong?
    thanks,

    Hi Steve,

For this issue, I would recommend you try to uninstall/reinstall the VSTO runtime. The link below might be useful to you:

If the method above do not work, I will recommend you install the excel add-in in the developing machine with the USB to check whether it could work correctly.  If it could not install correctly, I assume that there might be something wrong when you
publish, and could you share us the steps you published? If it works correctly, I assume that it caused by the environment of another pc, it would be helpful if you could share us the screen shoot about details error message.

  • "Configuration system failed to initialize" when trying to connect FM12 to Sharepoint

Adding a connection to Sharepoint using the FM12 CMS Connection Manager is failing with the error "Configuration system failed to initialize".  I can access all the sites and libraries in Sharepoint perfectly from IE on the same PC, but no matter what I try in the FM12 Connection Manager I get the above mentioned error.  The PC (which is actually a VM) is running Windows Server  2008 R2 (x64 with heaps of RAM and HDD free) with all updates applied.  FM12 is installed as part of Technical Comms Suite 5 subscription.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this (or what it even means) and how I can fix it?

  • Satellite L675 is locked in a loop of "configuring system"

I have a Satellite L675 pre-loaded with Windows7 64-bit, because it was very slow so I decided to recovere it to the factory default out-of-box.
But it has now been locked in a loop of "configuring system" with several reboots for more than an hour - does that make any sense?
    Regards,

    Hello
The recovery process takes a very long time and your notebook will restart several times during this process. A lot of drivers and tools will be installed so its not unusual.
In my opinion you should wait a little bit longer until recovery installation finished successfully. Just relax during this time with newspaper and coffee ;)

  • Pop-up 'Another instance is running. Configuration system failed to initialize.'

Hello - my system kept 'freezing' when a pop-up saying, ' Silverlight Plug-in has crashed' with options to repair or close. No matter what I did, t happened several times an hour, as well as the page and pointer freezing just as frequently. Often the only solution was to turn off the computer with the on/off button. Someone at work told me to delete the plug-in and I did and the problem stopped for a few days. Now, the plug-in has reappeared on the notebook, but less frequently, and the a/n pop-up comes on when I start the notebook. I suspect this action is related to what I unsuccessfully deleted. My screen and pointer are freezing less often. I appreciate opinions on how to correct this darned annoying problem.

  • Hang on saving or configuring system clock

So about half of the time that I start an hp pavilion dv6000, it locks up at the point when it says:
Configuring System Clock, or something like that (I didn't find it in any log files)
On top of that, the system hangs when it saves the system clock on shutdown.
What kind of workarounds exist for this issue of an unsupported/uncooperative system clock?

So did some searching based on your suggestion, but I cannot find any reacalls for my model, and this update does not address the issue:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/soft … ct=3379135
Once I get access to it again in july (It is currently out of the country), I will look into other solutions, including flashing the bios, avoiding saving the system clock....

The user J2EE_ADMIN can logon to via the gui to client 001 without errors.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
Seems this is a typical problem with SAP J2EE /AddIn Installations (I had this often!!). The user is created in the J2EE user store but because his password is initial, the J2EE engine would not let him in. As I remember the installation tries to log on with user SLDDSUSER (or so, something with SLD...), so log on on to the J2EE Engine with this user (e.g http://<hostname>:<port>/useradmin) and you will be prompted to that your password is initial (also do this with user J2EE_ADMIN, always good idea to see that J2EE Engine works correctly). In most cases the configuration of the SLD will continue.
If this doesn't work, cancel the installation and configure the SLD manually (is no problem, because at that point of the installation procedure, the system is fully installed, except the SLD configuration).
    Hopes this helps.
    Regards
    Daniel

  • [NEVERMIND WRONG PROBLEM] "Configuring System Clock FAIL"

I'm getting this error in the messages at bootup:
    "Configuring System Clcok     FAIL"
It just started in the last week. I've never seen this before. I tried setting "USEDIRECTISA" to "yes" in rc.conf, but this didn't help. I'm not sure what else to do or why this problem suddenly appeared after never having it before.
    I'm using Arch64 on a ThinkPad T61.
    Thanks.
[Edit: Oops, I misread which message said "FAIL" next to it. It's actually the "Activating Swap" step that's failing. Now to figure that out.]

  • Arch 2007.8 installation - configure system

i cannot install archlinux 2006.6 because of this issue) so i am trying with arch 2007.08..
when i've set the mountpoints, selected packages, installed packages, i am going to configure system part and the installation shows me configuration files, which are completely empty!
what does it mean? when i want to set root password it gives me "unable run command 'passwd' no such file or directory" when i want to setup grub, i get "cannot find /mnt/boot/grub/stage1"
what should i do? i have read the wiki and it wasn't helpful in this case.. i though the installer generates those configs, or am i wrong?
Last edited by Daan (2009-01-05 01:33:38)

iBertus: i see.. so it doesn't matter which version i would install, pacman -Syu will synchronize with currtent repositories and will upgrade everything from there, right?
i just started to read the main and the most important articles on arch wiki and i must say it's written really great. thank you for your hints.
but if someone would have an idea about those configuration files, during the installation, i would appreciate it, because i would like to understand it and find out where's the problem..
also, there should be something done (from deweloper's side) about that issue i wrote in my first post..

  • Can't Get passed "Configure System" in Beginners guide

Hey guys, as my name might suggest, I'm a newb to Arch Linux. I've had ubuntu for about 8 months, and while that was a significant improvement for my laptop (I had XP before), its started to really bog my system down.
Anywho, I've had some problems when I've tried installing the distro. I downloaded the iso and whatnot and I followed the first steps. Now after I partitioned the harddrive, I tried to install the packages. Now, I don't know if its important for me to point this out, but I only have the option for Base packages (if thats normal, I apologize).
When I try to configure my system, I completely and utterly fail. For some reason, hwdetect doesn't fill in the necessary drivers, so is there a way for me add them to the modules?  Obviously I can't continue, because I can't get on the internet
So here is a reiteration of my problems:
--the only packages I can install are Base packages (the other three options don't show up; like I said, i           don't know if that is standard procedure)
--hwdetect doesn't fill in drivers for my stuff. I'm also not really sure what drivers I need.
--I just got FiOS, but I know nothing about the Network (DCHP, gateway, they mean nothing to me). Heck I can't even go on the internet with an ethernet cable
if you guys can help, it'd be greatly appreciated. Oh, this is my laptop, a toshiba satellite a75-s211http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba … mncol;psum
    Thanks,
    -The ArchNewb

If your internet is already connected, I like to use the ftp method of installing. That way, it installs the base packages, and then it does a complete install with the newest packages so you don't have to repeat anything.
I also use the dhcp which is easier for a beginner.
This is an OLD guide for installing ARCH. It is a good read because it explains it in a step by step way with pictures for most every important step: http://www.raiden.net/?cat=2&aid=276
This is the page about dhcp: http://www.raiden.net/?cat=2&aid=276&pid=5
This is the page about configuring for your xorg.conf: http://www.raiden.net/?cat=2&aid=276&pid=8
this is a paragraph from that guide:
... The monitor section above is pretty sparse.  When Arch boots up, udev utilizes hwdetect to determine what hardware you have, and it is pretty good at detected and setting up monitors.  So the above works fine for me.  Most of the time, if the Xorg -configure command filled in the VendorName field and the ModelName field correctly, then what is there will work.  Try it like this first, then if you have problems getting Xorg going, you may need to add more configuration information in this section.  You may have to add the following lines to the Section "Monitor" :...
... for filling in any sections on your own, I found that it might be a good idea to have a copy of your old ubuntu's "xorg.conf" that was already working with Linux and your computer... just as a back up to compare with in case you run into any troubles and have to write in a few settings that don't get detected for some reason.

  • The error "configuration system failed to initialize" occurred

    Hi
When I converted and built the solution file that was developed by Visual Studio .net 2003 using Visual Studio 2005, the application program was abnormal-ended at the following step:
    m_TCPChannel = New System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpChannel(tcp_properties, Nothing, Nothing)
The error message was "configration system failed to initialize".  The Exception.ToString said that the root <configuration> tag was not included in the configuration file. Therefore, I changed <configopt> tag to <configuration>
tag in the app.config file of the target project, and then executed again. Next time, the application program was abnormal-ended by the unrecognized section <xs:schema>. Therefore, I changed the app.config file to the simple one (only <configuration>
and </configuration> tags), and then executed again. The error didn't occur. I guess that it's caused by configuration settings. Please advise.

I am afraid that the issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as

Since your issue occurred on the converted project from VS .net 2003 to VS2005, and VS2005 is out of
