  • ADF master-detail master selection not updating detail tables properly

    Hi All,
    I am using JDev version : 11.1.2.0.0
    I created new Fusion Web Application Module. In that module I created a master-detail data model and added them to a page fragment with a query panel. When I run it as a separate module, It works perfectly and Master selection correctly updates detail tables.
    But when I integrate that module to another Fusion Application(Add application jar file to the Master Application libraries), Master-details master selection not updating detail tables properly. This problem occurred sequentially.
    The problem is that.
    After the page load, first selection of the Master Table works correctly and detail tables update correctly.
    But second selection doesn't work, means detail table doesn't get update according to the Master table.
    And again in the third selection works correctly.
    This happens in a sequential manner. I monitor the behavior using Firebug. Observations are as follows,
    When running correctly, Response of the Post Definition is

    Hi,
    sound to be an implementation specific issue that is hard to comment on without knowing how to reproduce it. If you have a rerooducible test case based on the Oracle HR schema using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, zip it up, rename the "zip "extension to "unzip" and sent it to the mail address you find in my OTN profile. If you don't have that test case, explain how this can be reproduced

  • Multiple (updatable) details in the same page.

    Hello,
    I tried to put two updatable details in the same page and got the error
    "Updatable SQL Query already exists on page 11. You can only add one updatable SQL query per page. Select a different page"
    So having more than one updatable detail is not allowed in apex ?
    I have a master table with three details. Should I create one page for each one of them ?
    Thanks in advance
    Bye
    Nicola

    What you want to use are called collections. Here is a simple collection example:
    The process goes in 4 steps: gather the data, display the data, update based on user input, then write the changes. Each step requires it's own piece of code, but you can extend this out as far as you want. I have a complex form that has no less than a master table and 4 children I write to based on user input, so this can get as complex as you need. Let me know if anything doesn't make sense.
    First, create the basic dataset you are going to work with. This usually includes existing data + empty rows for input. Create a Procedure that fires BEFORE HEADER or AFTER HEADER but definitely BEFORE the first region.
    DECLARE
      v_id     NUMBER;
      var1     NUMBER;
      var2     NUMBER;
      var3     VARCHAR2(10);
      var4     VARCHAR2(8);
      cursor c_prepop is
      select KEY, col1, col2, col3, to_char(col4,'MMDDYYYY')
        from table1
        where ...;
      i         NUMBER;
      cntr      NUMBER := 5;  --sets the number of blank rows
    BEGIN
      OPEN c_prepop;
        LOOP
          FETCH c_prepop into v_id, var1, var2, var3, var4;
          EXIT WHEN c_prepop%NOTFOUND;
            APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER(
            p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION',
            p_c001 => v_id,  --Primary Key
            p_c002 => var1, --Number placeholder
            p_c003 => var2, --Number placeholder
            p_c004 => var3, --text placeholder
            p_c005 => var4 --Date placeholder
        END LOOP;
      CLOSE c_prepop;
      for i in 1..cntr loop
        APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER(
            p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION',
            p_c001 => 0, --designates this as a new record
            p_c002 => 0, --Number placeholder
            p_c003 => 0, --Number placeholder
            p_c004 => NULL, --text placeholder
            p_c005 => to_char(SYSDATE,'MMDDYYYY') --Date placeholder
      end loop;
    END;Now I have a collection populated with rows I can use. In this example I have 2 NUMBERS, a TEXT value, and a DATE value stored as text. Collections can't store DATE datatypes, so you have to cast it to text and play with it that way. The reason is because the user is going to see and manipulate text - not a DATE datatype. If you are using this as part of a master/detail form, make sure that your SQL to grab the detail is limited to just the related data.
    Now build the form/report region so your users can see/manipulate the data. Here is a sample query:
    SELECT rownum, apex_item.hidden(1, c001),  --Key ID
         apex_item.text(2, c002, 8, 8) VALUE1,
         apex_item.text(3, c003, 3, 3) VALUE2,
         apex_item.text(4, c004, 8, 8) VALUE3,
         apex_item.date_popup(5, null,c005,'MMDDYYYY',10,10) MY_DATE
    FROM APEX_COLLECTIONS
    WHERE COLLECTION_NAME = 'MY_COLLECTION'This will be a report just like an SQL report - you're just pulling the data from the collection. You can still apply the nice formatting, naming, sorting, etc. of a standard report. In the report the user will have 3 "text" values and one Date with Date Picker. You can change the format, just make sure to change it in all four procedures.
    What is critical to note here are the numbers that come right before the column names. These numbers become identifiers in the array used to capture the data. What APEX does is creates an array of up to 50 items it designates as F01-F50. The F is static, but the number following it corresponds to the number in your report declaration above, ie, F01 will contain the primary key value, F02 will contain the first numeric value, etc. While not strictly necessary, it is good practice to assign these values so you don't have to guess.
    One more note: I try to align the c00x values from the columns in the collection with the F0X values in the array to keep myself straight, but they are separate values that do NOT have to match. If you have an application you think might get expanded on, you can leave gaps wherever you want. Keep in mind, however, that you only have 50 array columns to use for data input. That's the limit of the F0X array even though a collection may have up to 1000 values.
    Now you need a way to capture user input. I like to create this as a BEFORE COMPUTATIONS/VALIDATIONS procedure that way the user can see what they changed (even if it is wrong). Use the Validations to catch mistakes.
    declare
      j pls_integer := 0;
    begin
    for j1 in (
      select seq_id from apex_collections
      where collection_name = 'MY_COLLECTION'
      order by seq_id) loop
      j := j+1;
      --VAL1 (number)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>2,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f02(j));
      --VAL2 (number)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>3,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f03(j));
      --VAL3 (text)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>4,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f04(j));
      --VAL4 (Date)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>5,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f05(j));
    end loop;
    end;Clear as mud? Walk through it slowly. The syntax tells APEX which Collection (p_collection_name), then which row (p_seq), then which column/attribute (p_attr_number) to update with which value (wwv_flow.g_f0X(j)). The attribute number is the column number from the collection without the "c" in front (ie c004 in the collection = attribute 4).
    The last one is your procedure to write the changes to the Database. This one should be a procedure that fires AFTER COMPUTATIONS AND VALIDATIONS. It uses that hidden KEY value to determine whether the row exists and needs to be updated, or new and needs to be inserted.
    declare
    begin
      --Get records from Collection
      for y in (select TO_NUMBER(c001) x_key, TO_NUMBER(c002) x_1,
                 TO_NUMBER(c003) x_2,
                 c004 x_3,
                 TO_DATE(c005,'MMDDYYYY') x_dt
               FROM APEX_COLLECTIONS
               WHERE COLLECTION_NAME = 'MY_COLLECTION') loop
        if y.x_key = 0 then  --New record
            insert into MY_TABLE (KEY_ID, COL1,
                COL2, COL3, COL4, COL5)
              values (SEQ_MY_TABLE.nextval, y.x_1,
                  y.x_2, y.x_3, y.x_4, y.x_dt);
        elsif y.x_key > 0 then  --Existing record
            update MY_TABLE set COL1=y.x_1, COL2=y.x_2,
                 COL3=y.x_3, COL4=y.x_4, COL5=y.x_dt
             where KEY_ID = y.x_key;
        else
          --THROW ERROR CONDITION
        end if;
      end loop;
    end;Now I usually include something to distinguish the empty new rows from the full new rows, but for simplicity I'm not including it here.
    Anyway, this works very well and allows me complete control over what I display on the screen and where all the data goes. I suggest using the APEX forms where you can, but for complex situations, this works nicely. Let me know if you need further clarifications.

    DBA.

    Hello.
    To see the original Solaris update used to install the system run "cat /etc/release":
    $ cat /etc/release
                       Oracle Solaris 10 9/10 s10s_u9wos_14a SPARC
         Copyright (c) 2010, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
                                Assembled 11 August 2010The above shows Solaris 10 Update 9
    The second part is to look at the Kernel Patch installed
    $ uname -a
    SunOS hostname 5.10 Generic_142909-17 sun4u sparc SUNW,SPARC-EnterpriseThe above shows this system has 142909-17. Use the matrix on this site to see what update it is: http://blogs.oracle.com/patch/entry/solaris_10_kernel_patchid_progression
    Hope it helps answer your question.

  • TS3274 How to get past frozen Update Details screen in AppStore

    I want to move my iPad from account email1 (previous employer) to new account email2 but each time I try to use email2 on AppStore the process forces me to first update details such as secret question but when completed the last screen freezes and I can't proceed.
    What I mean by "freeze" is that the active panel goes black and I can't access the screen behind it. This happened in December a few times too. Apple Support sent me lots of links but this is obviously a bug in either Ipad or their servers.
    Help!
    R

    Apple support won't help me by investigating, even though this looks like is a bug in apple software. This forum won't help, so I'm a tad peeved that I've wasted my time looking for help from apple. Never happened with my 25 years using Microsoft. End of relationship with apple.

  • New v1.1 update - details??

    I completed the v1.1 firmware upgrade on my 5g iPod. It got a bit hung up at the end but a reboot of the computer brought it back to life.
    Does anyone know specifically what this update addressed? All it says is FM transmitter compatibility and "bug fixes". I'd like more details. Anyone?
    Thanks!
    iPOD 5g 60gb   Windows XP

    The only thing I have noticed on the ipod so far is that the menu transfer and scroll is a bit faster - more like the 3rd gen one was. Video transition (from starting the video to the time it actually plays seems to have improved on mine. It would be nice if they would auto populate ALL of the podcasts you subscribe to but they only populate it if it is in aac format on the ipod....kind of dumb I think but what do I know.
    One thing I have noticed about the new ipod is the "About" screen doesn't seem to display an accurate drive space number on my ipod. It has said that I have 30.6 gigs remaining out of 55.6 gigs total yet when it is plugged into itunes, it says I have used a total of 31.51 gigs. If math serves me correctly, I should only have 24.09 gigs left....why the discrepency?? Anyone else seen this?? It has actually been frozen at that for a while now which is weird. Guess they didn't fix that bug. Anyway, that is what I have noticed.

  • "What's New?" App Update Details Not Showing

    Hi,
    Is anyone else having this same problem with 12.0.1?
    When app updates appear in the list and I click on then it opens a larger detail section but it only shows version number, date and size. The details of what's new in this version no longer appear like they do in iTunes 11, iOS or within the app store view of the app.
    I tried reinstalling iTunes over this version but that did not help.
    Very odd. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Updating detail record and getting multiple 'UNABLE TO INSERT RECORD' msgs

    Help! We have 2 datablocks, master and detail block with relation defined. Master is defined with view based on database joins; detail is view based on table.
    When I update the record in detail block, error message 'UNABLE TO INSERT RECORD' appears four times, then I get transaction complete: 5 records applied and saved, where the one record successfully updates. Why are we getting four records with insert errors and one record update? We don't want to work directly on the table, but why can't we use the view? please help.

    The UNABLE TO INSERT record will be accompanied by more information if you press the Display Error key. Your form commit processing should stop when it gets an error like this, the fact that it doesn't implies that somewhere in your code you are not checking for FORM_SUCCESS before continuing doing something else.
    This sounds quite involved, we would need to have more information about what records are queried and what's being changed on them to cause the commit.

  • Updating Detail Block when Master Block Updates

    Using scott/tiger: I have Dept in Master and EMP in detail on Form6i.
    The relation is made as dept.deptno=emp.deptno.
    When I change the first record of Dept (I changed deptno=10 to deptno=11), I don't get changes of detail block.
    I just want to have synchronize result....... confused???... I think I made it... I hope

    This is a common problem that we usually face...<br>
    Isn't it? Don't we have any Form level Casscade<br>
    Update (as we have Casscade Delete)?<br><br>
    Well, I cannot say that's a common job to update primary key. That' even very rare... maybe one or two time I seen this one in the real world, and that was during migration application or such like thing.<br>
    Some days ago, there was same discussion Re: For update cascade<br>

  • Update detail block based on FROM QUERY

    I have 2 blocks in master-detail relation. The master is based on a table, the detail on from query. The Insert works fine... but whenever i want to update any field from the detail block, the items (text, lists, whatever) don't allow any updating.
    Is there some workaround?
    Thank you for the help
    NR

    RTM on blocks based on from-query.
    If I recall well, it says that you shoud write the DML code in on-insert, on-update and on-delete triggers - and, anyway, if I do not remember well the manual, that's what I do.
    So, the on-insert trigger should have an insert into <my_dml_table>...
    The on-update trigger sould have an update <my_dml_table>... where ... And there's a thing: you may have the rowid of <my_dml_query> fetched - which would be the best - or use some primary key for that table for update (not so good performance).
    The on-delete trigger somewhat like the on-update trigger.
    Moreover, I believe it would be better to have procedures for on-insert, on-update and on-delete grouped in one package in the database - again, this is what I use to do.

  • Can't Update Details for my Music Via iTunes Anymore

    I used to be able to update the info/details for my music (e.g., artist names, ratings, etc.) via iTunes, but it doesn't work anymore. In the past I'd click on the music tab underneath my phone's tab when I opened iTunes. I'd then scroll through the music and make changes for spelling, etc. Using one band as an example, it's all spelled exactly the same on my computer in both music tabs (under my phone and on my computer), but it has various spellings still on my phone. So when I type in the band name on my phone, I have to pick one of the spellings, and therefore can't listen to all of that band's songs on shuffle. Also, when I rate a song on my phone, it no longer shows when I plug into iTunes. In the past, I uploaded every song I have rated 3 stars or above. I then rated songs 1 star while using my iPhone if I want to delete them later. But this just doesn't work anymore. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.
    iPhone 5s

    "Most people" do NOT have this problem at all, which is why Apple isn't responding.
    This is the fix:
    Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.
