Re: Verizon takes money out of my bank account without my authorization

I have been with Verizon for 12+ yrs. It is a never ending battle with overages and bank screw ups! The financial service people are the most belligerent, rude pretty much >Profanity removed< department EVER. They get more irate than the customer. Almost like if they don't belittle you and force you to PAY RIGHT THIS MIN It would be taken from their personal paychecks. I refuse to tell anyone else about the treatment. I call customer service they are so Great. I get things straighten out with customer service not an hour later financial services calls. I tell them check my file I straightened everything out with Customer service and I was told SO WHAT they are not us, we have no contact with customer service. We don't know what they do NOR do we care! And they do not know what we do! We are two different department. Okay but I am only one PERSON!!  They better NEVER tell me they don't do anything to our checking acct without our permission because that is an outright LIE!! I have all the proof that they did just that. Back in March a friend of mine made a payment on my acct of $50.00! ( A One Time Only Payment!!!) from his bank acct! It is now Aug and I have made 5 months of payments to VERIZON with My Bank Acct Info! I as recently as July put my daughter on my acct before she left for school and she got a new phone. I get an automated call saying I am over on my data pkg I never questioned it because it could have been my daughter. My number has never used DATA ever. So I went in and paid my bill of $198.00 on Sept 4th. With MY checking acct and saved my last 4 digits of  0581. I called JUST to make sure they got my payment and was told yes that was Fri Evening Sept 7th. This morning I see that my payment did not go through. I called MY bank  Sept 12th and they notify me that the payment was removed from an acct that did not have my name or acct number! They used my friend's acct information that made the one time payment in MARCH and as of this morning HIS checking information is SAVED to my Verizon Acct! He paid the $50.00 Again Months ago with me giving him NOTHING but my phone number! I never had his information and he never had mine! Now they are threatening to turn off my phone and my daughter's and she is away at college.His acct number was NEVER saved by myself me NOR him but his acct last 4 digits are saved to my acct as of this morning. We both have Verizon, We both bank at Chase but.... we have different acct numbers,His is a business acct, mine is a personal,different addresses, and services etc.... My friend happened to call because he notice the same I amt I paid was taken from his acct  down to the penny! Chase investigated and found out this is what occurred. BY SOMEONE AT VERIZON not myself!! Will they admit they did this NO NOT YET!!!! We both have proof, that WE never authorized this transaction at all Chase has proof and yet Verizon won't cop to it!  How many times can Verizon do this to people?? They did a credit entry this morning to my my friend's acct & reversed the amt from mine NEVER even bothered to call me while totally screwing up not ONE but TWO different people's bank accts. I will NEVER allow Verizon to take ANYTHING directly from my acct again. This is not the first time this happened. NO one is allowed to juggle my funds BUT ME!!!! I am calling a lawyer by day's end if they do not straighten this out ASAPor at least understand that what they did is Against the Law and SHOULD be considered theft for tapping into their customers acct without PERMISSION!!!!

  • Every month my yearly subscription expires despite Adobe taking money out of my bank account?

    Every month since I subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud, I get a message stating that my subscription to the cloud has expired? Yet, there has been no problem with Adobe taking the monthly subscription dues from out of my bank account. Then I must go thru the rig-a-ma-roo to update my account manually in order tyo restore being able to use the programs I need. And another thing, (although you might consider it to be a second question), I must enter and re-enter my Adobe ID and password to go to the next page in succession. I wouldn't mind doing so if for a security reasoning but it appears as a risk to only my redundancy? Things could run much more smoothly if per chance you could identify these hassles prior to confirming my bank account routing number?

Eventually after alot of time trying to figure, RIG-A-MA-ROO, of how to update my subscription and time not being able to use the software needed, EVERY MONTH THIS HAPPENS. i usually figure it out?   • Automatic Payments Continue To Come Out of My Bank Account.

    Around February 20, 2014, I had cancelled my Verizon service
    and changed to Straighttalk. All the changes seemed to have gone smoothly. I
    received a complimentary call from Verizon regarding my change of service, so I
    knew everything again had gone through properly. Around the same time I
    cancelled my service a payment for Verizon was taken out of my checking
    account. Being prorated, I assumed I would be reimbursed. I tried logging into
    my Verizon account immediately and it was closed. Last week another payment for
    Verizon had been deducted from my account, so I tried to contact customer
    service OVER 5-8 times and I can not get through to anyone AND being my account
    is closed by phone number will not work! How can I get a real person, verify my
    account will be credited back and verify my automatic payments had been
    stopped?!

    First call your bank and have the money refunded back. Tell the bank to place a block from Verizon wireless on your account. This can also be done with a credit card if it is used.
    The bank or credit union has to refund the money by law, however they will require you to fax the documents showing the removal of your funds and that you are requesting the block to be placed on. It is very easy.
    Years ago I had an auto pay set up and when I noticed the funds removed the girl at the credit union was great. Reversed the payment and blocked over the phone. Mailed me the documents and I faxed them back.
    Don't deal with Verizon just deal with your bank. Less aggravation.

    Have you gone into settings > store > then tap on your apple iTunes I D and change all the bank details  from your friends account to your account ?

    It depends on how paranoid you are.
    There is a theoretical risk that a site in another tab or window could read through the history of your banking session and extract information, but that probably is very rare.
    You definitely want to close the browser before leaving the PC available to another person.

    Hi i recently withdrew $60.00 from my paypal account to my bank account, i waited for about 2 days and the transaction were completed, but then i realized my error, i sent the money to the wrong bank account, i only realized it when i checked my bank account and it wasnt there and i checked my paypal transaction history and the account number is incorrect. i would like to know if i would be able to get my money back if possible, to some people $60 maybe not that big but for me as a student is a very large thing as i need it for my studies. 

    Last May 9, 2015, I have withdrawn my paypal money and sent it to my bank account. After weeks of waiting, I have check my bank accounts and surprised that one of my bank account was closed. And it happened to be the account that I sent my paypal money. I tried to email paypal many times and ask for help and all I received was just an automated response and never get my answer. I have tried to call paypal but I can't talk to a person. I am outside the US and I am desperate to know where is my money! It should be back to my paypal account but apparently not. Please, I need help and answer!  

  • I cannot get Verizon to refund money that they mistakenly took out of my  bank account.

    I am so frustrated with Verizon, after years of being a faithful customer.  A jetpack was ordered for me to try and instead I got some other equipment that I could not use.  I was instructed to just send it back and I did so.  Then, I received 2 different pieces of equipment and  had to send them back before finally getting the jetpack (which I do love, even though my husband calls it a "roter rooter".  I sent back the 2 packages, after they were actually boxed up in Dickson, Tn. at the Verizon store by one of their employees.  I took it that day and mailed it back. Verizon received the two packages on Nov. 12th. AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY TOLD ME, AFTER EACH TIME PUTTING ME ON HOLD FOR ANYWHERE BETWEEN 20 - 30 MINUTES EACH TIME I CALL!
    They had first sent me a text message telling me they were going to have to bill me for equipment that I had not returned, so I called them immediately and, after a call of over an hour,  I was told they had located the returns and I didn't need to worry about it anymore.
    Next, in December, I got a bill from them again stating they were going to have to charge me for it so again I called them and was told, again, after a quite lengthy hold, that they definitely had the returned equipment and I was again given the date of Nov. 12th as the date they had received it. 
    Then, during the first part of January I got a bill that showed that on January 14th, they were going to withdraw that amount with my automatic payment plan from the bank.  I called again, again to be told it was a "glitz in the system" but would be worked out before time to withdraw the amount.  Well, that didn't happen.  But they did take the money out of our account anyway. I don't have a spare $269 to give!  My husband and I are both disabled and retired.   Of course I called them again  and after being put on hold for 20 minutes, was told not to worry, it had been returned!  I stupidly thought she meant to our bank account!  She meant what I already knew....the equipment had been returned....over 2 months earlier!
    Since that time I have made more phone calls to Verizon and keep getting told that it will take 3 - 5 days and they have to request it.  Well, they've requested it several times.  Still I do not get my money returned to the bank.  I absolutely do no recommend anyone use their auto payment.  If this is what happens, it will wear you out just trying to get your money back.
    I have since received another monthly bill, and it shows NO CREDIT, NO RETURNS, ETC. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ME????  I HAVE CONTACTED CONSUMER'S AFFAIRS and I plan to take this where-ever I have to just to warn people.  It really bothers me that every time I call Verizon about this problem, I talk to someone who seems so nice, so empathetic about the problem and they always promise that THEY will make sure it gets done. 

    Hi judy. I feel your frustration and anger. I had placed an order with B&N and got billed twice. I called them and i let the rep know i had just checked my acct and saw i've been billed twice. The rep checked and sure enough their records showed i was billed twice.
    Then the rep apologized, which is always cool for a corp to do, and i was told that the money would be credited back to my card within 3 to 5 business days. And sure enough that's what happened.
