Really really need some help please.

lost all my audio. nothing plays anymore. cant even hear the trash empty any more. no itunes, nothing. no dvd audio. also noticed itunes wont play songs anymore, progress bar just sits there. also movies on youtube dont play anymore. when i try to turn up audio i get a zero symbol with a slash thru it. im stumped. help please. thanks

Whatever has happened, I've assumed it just happened and is systemic.
To start: Go to Applications/Utilities and run Disk Utility, select your startup drive, and click on the Repair Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
If that works, you're done, if not, pull out your Tiger startup DVD, insert it, select the Installer, and Restart your Mac from the DVD. When you get to the installer screen, go to the menus at the top of the screen and select Disk Utility, and this time click on the Repair Disk button. This will check your file system integrity and repair it.
When you've done that, post back.
If those don't work, you may need to do an Archive & Install, from this same DVD. This will preserve your accounts/apps/data, but will require you to repeatedly run Software Update to bring everything current again.

I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

Although vlc mentioned above is a much more powerful and better player you could try installing Perian if you insist on using the quicktime player. It may supply the codec it needs.
Not sure why you wouldn't be able to play straight avi files though in quicktime.

Ok, the short of it.... I started training on Database programming about 2 weeks ago. I still don't really know a thing, or even understand the concepts. Now, my boss wants me to fix a bug in Oracle, and I haven't a clue. The ONLY help I've gotten was a link to this forum, and a speech about how I need to help myself. I told him I have the same chance of fixing anything, as monkeys typing hamlet. Anyone up for a challenge?
When I go to Application System, then Application Entry and enter the password a dialog box appears.... "FRM-40039: Cannot attatch library Empower while opening from APPUSRAPP."
That's what I have to fix. I have no clue. I don't even really know how to click around in this program. Please help, someone.
UPDATE: I've been told that everyone's pretty much going to be a jerk to me for asking this, and I'm currently searching old threads and can't find a way to delete this one I posted. So, you could just ignore the post, or jump in and be the internet tough-guy and tell me what I already know.... I'm a newb.

2100 WLC 1130 APs - need some help please

It's been about 5 years since I took my CCNA course and could use some help on a wireless set up for church.
We have a Catalyst 3550 that is running fine, just a few VLANs, including 30 for public wireless. I've then got a 2100 WLC and (3) 1130 AP's. After much head banging, I've got the WLC set up correctly (i believe)
VLAN 30 is a 10.0.3.x segment
switch is 10.0.3.1
WLC mgmt interface is 10.0.3.20 - connected to the switch on port 1
WLC ap mgmt interface is 10.0.3.21
APs pull 10.0.3.30, 31,32. - they are plugged directly into the switch
I can obviously see the APs while in the WLC GUI.
The AP's SSID don't show up wirelessly. The AP's circle is red/orange
The detail on the AP in the WLC shows them operationally down.
What additional information can I provide?

Really needs some help please

Hello everyone,
I have a line (a little white line) down the screen on my satellite laptop. It appear a little while after installing 2gs of memory. Could someone explain to me what could have cause it and if it is covered by my extended warrenty. I also wants to know if it is covered by the warrenty if Toshiba allows me to take it to a local repair shop that is not their as i am in the caribbean and none of their repair centres are close to my island.

Working on epic slideshow....really could use some help please

I have combed the manuals, discussion logs etc. but am yet to find a simple answer to my questions. Maybe there are none. My grandparents both passed away in the last month. I am not only archiving my pictures but creating a slideshow using final cut pro 5.1.4. The pictures I have scanned are huge... a total of 180 years of life, hundreds of pictures, all scanned at 600 dpi because some where 2x2. Even then some pictures are 4000 x2800 and 20mb. I have resized them down to about 5mb or so. I have seemed to get rid of flicker and lag associated with such huge file. Still I am having a problem exporting......
There are so many audio/video settings it hard to know where to go. This will be watched by 50 family members and friends, most with HD widescreen Televsisons. When I watch it on my computer it looks exactly how i want it to. When i burn it to iDVD it starts having lag issues when doing mild pans and zooms....the transitions.. fade in fade out, typically...or cross dissolve look "framey" and low quality. In the days of research I've done I can't seem to find proper settings (yes even the manual) on how to set the codecs or whatever they are....It will primarily be watched on 16:9 widescreen I image....but anything from old 4:3 televisons to laptops too. What settings should I use?...Should I reduce all pics to minimal size? Why do my transitions look so low res...? If anyone has any insight, please help. I don't know the difference in 1080i50 or 1080i 60...I have heard NTSC is not the way to go for a slideshow.....please help. How should I resize, how should I export, what am I doing wrong? It looks great for the most part on my on MacBook Pro 2.5ghz 2g ram 15 inch laptop....why cant i get it to translate on the televison?
I know parts of this question(s) have been discussed and appreciate anytime in helping me grasp what I am missing. This is so very important to me...also Livetype was a disaster... looked liked graphics from a 1982 sci-fi movie...sigh....I have done this before with success, but not in about 5 years. Technology and HD era have surpassed me although some of my questions ares still basic.

MacBook Pro 2.5ghz 2g ram Please help with FCP 5 slideshow technical difficulties

Yes I considered using iMovie or iPhoto because of the size of this project but had little or no control over motion. Despite my obvious lack of knowledge I know my way around FCP to the extent I've needed it.
Perhaps I have been over thinking/researching everything because this project means so much to me.
I just wanted to make sure I imported my media correctly (scanned tiffs and music only) and export it with the proper settings so that it looks as professional as possible and nobody has a problem playing it.
I have had success with several slideshows before, as well as fun DV videos of the kids. Without motion, no problem. With motion, just a few minor bugs (flickering) but was very happy with the end result. The difference then I suppose is that was using all digital pics from (at the time) a 3 megapixel camera. Not huge files, not scanned images. I used NTSC then but read in a forum somewhere that that was a quick way to degrade your production. I feel like I'm close. If it looks like I want it to on my computer I can't be that far off, right?
I appreciate the info on DVD's needing to be NTSC compatible. Maybe I should just go back to the standard NTSC format. Are all the other audio/video settings simply for uploading to the web and so forth? Is there a NTSC setting that you would recommend that is better for todays standard widescreen television? I do want the final show to be in widescreen.

Problems with 10.7.X - need some help please

Where to begin???
New mac mini with 10.7.x
Double clicking the top of the window won't collapse window like in previous versions.
Double clicking on a folder that is on the desktop opens behind the hard drive window.
When restarting or logging back in, all my icons are in a different place (scattered) than where they were when logging out or shutting down. This is in reference to my hard drive window. I have everything there on icon view. All other sub folders are list view, no problems with those. How do I get 10.7.x to remember the window view?
I imported all my mail and mailboxes and sorted them where I wanted them from a mac mini running 10.4.11 and at the next restart they were all back where they were before I sorted them. I even threw out mailboxes that I didn't need anymore and they reappeared.
I am so confused. I almost feel like a bought a pc with a MS operating system.
And God forbid I need to reinstall the system, there is no way to do that because there is no dvd, let alone a dvd drive. And no I didn't sign up for icloud.
I know I sound kind of pi$$y, but I am frustrated and don't have a lot of time to devote to getting this straightened out.
I would really appreciate some assistance.

Here we go again. Need some help please.

Had a lot of probs with first m/b. Finally got them to RMA it at gameve.com now the m/b seems to be acting right but when trying to install windows XP I keep getting BSOD. It has happened like 4 times. Anyone here know a work around for this? I have been trying to put this rig together for a month now and keep running into crazy problems. he ASCII standards say that the If the FSB can't handle the Memory speed than the CPU operates at a slower rate to try to best accomidate the Bus size. Think about it. The bus gets to much info and the cpu gives two little, which will lead to low efficiency and really serious heat issues. The RAM gets hot, data gets lost, the data times out in RAM. Try replacing them. I know it's a pain in the ass but I've had loads of RAM problems on even slower machines. Might work. Computers have their way of being a pain in the ass.

My first java programming - Need some help please!!!

I have to create a simple java program which i am not good at i am ok in C but my java is quite bad. The program need to define a class called Student and with a string called StudentNAme, a integer StudentID(key), An array of 8 integers called Marks that holds the students marks for 8 modules. It also says Include appropriate accessors, mutators and constructor(s) as well as a method to update the student�s marks. Anybody please help me in this question. I prefer an simple example of this program so I can learn faster, I dont even know how to declare a class.. So sorry but please help me out and thanks in advance

This will help you get a working program much faster.But please do also tell them that if they have troubles using it, they're supposed to read the IDE manual instead of posting here.

No, it's quite easy to do. If you're running Lion or Mountain Lion, that is. You don't mention which version of OS X you're running. If using Lion or Mountain Lion, simply reboot and hold down the Command and R keys at startup. This will take you to your Recovery Partition.
From the Utilities menu, select Terminal and type
resetpassword
A small app will open allowing you to reset the password for any user that you choose. Type in the password twice and remember to give yourself a 'hint'.
You need an admin password to do just about anything. Maybe write it down somewhere so you won't forget it.

Install on g4 laptop need some help please

I have a G4 laptop but my DVD player does not work I just put in a new harddrive so I need to install a OS so any ideas on how to her this installed. I have a g5 tower and an extrnal hard drive. I really don't want to spend the money for an external DVD. Can I plug the laptap n the g5 and use the DVD player from that computer or can I put the install on the extaral hard drive and install from there?

Start the G4 with the T key down, until it has a firewire symbol on the screen. Connect the G5 and laptop with a firewire cable (Have the G5 started). Put the Install disk in the G5, and hit the "Install" button, or restart it, and hold down the C key. You can now choose to install ono the G4.
Note: You will hear people tell you about a conflict of using a G5 to install on a G4. It is nonsense, and speculation. They have no proof. I have done this type of thing so many times I cannot tell you, and never had any trouble.

No sound with Midi.. I'm a noob, I apologize, but i need some help please!

Ok, I have my logic pro studio, version 8.0.2. and I have a duet pedal. Now, I have my piano hooked up through the duet pedal, and then going via fire wire to my mac for recording. I opened up Logic Pro, and selected empty Midi Project to record.. it shows a piano in Logic, and says "record ready" yet when i hit record I get no sound, doesn't record anything and this freaking 1000 page book has me lost on what to do!
I'm just trying to record midi so that I can convert and do the Notation Music to turn my music into sheet music. Can someone help me please? On another note, I did save my project so that it was saved....

I figured out how to get the midi on there.. but now, I need to figure out how to get sound

Really really need some help please.
