  • How to approve conent from workflow queue ?

    Any idea how to approve content from workflow queue when user is not reviewer or authorized to take action of current workflow step. ?
    how we can modify the user permission on content for approve/reject content from workflow queue when content is not in workflow queue of current user ?
    Or How can user take workflow action on content when content is not in workflow queue of user ?

    Any idea how to approve content from workflow queue when user is not reviewer or authorized to take action of current workflow step. ?OOTB this is certainly not possible. By installation of a workflow you intend to automate a business process; i.e. the situation you are asking about is exactly what you want to prevent. Therefore, the initial question should be: do we want to automate this process and if so, is WebCenter Content the right tool to do it (note that WebCenter Content is not a BPM system!).
    The world, however, is not black or white - sometimes you have to use the tool that you have. In WebCenter Content, there are certain situations which cannot be meet by the OOTB design, but their customization is relatively easy. Some of them is described in the manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10978/c05_workflows.htm#CIHCHJEA or http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10978/c05_workflows.htm#CIHGIDGB
    The basic idea is that will use workflow step events (entry, update, exit) to implement additional logic (like adding a reviewer or auto-jump to an escalation/special treatment step on certain conditions). This might also require GUI changes - e.g. if you want to enable a reviewer to delegate his or her role to a third person.

  • How to purge Workflow queue after R12 upgrade before starting WF Mailer?

    Hi,
    We are about to upgrade to R12.1.3 from R11.5.9.
    As part of the testing, I configured and started the Workflow Mailer in the new system. As soon as I did that, the system started sending a ton of notifications regarding past Requisition approvals apparently queued in the system. WF Mailer has been down since I did the last upgrade test.
    We plan to approve all requisitions before the cutover in the old system, so there should be no email notifications pending. Is there a way of updating msg_state of those notifications in the wf_notification_out table with a value of "READY", so we can make sure that we will have a clean system and users will not receive any notifications regarding the past requisition approvals?
    Thanks,

  • Workflow queue - too many items

    Hi all,
    We are experiencing serious issue with too many documents in user's workflow queue. Namely, when number of documents in queue exceeds 100 (or so), rendering of "My workflow" page takes too long (10-20 seconds). Furthermore, when user approves some document from the list, page is reloaded, again very slow, which makes things very frustrating...
    My questions are:
    1. Does anyone have the similar problem ?
    2. If yes, how to determine if problem lies in time needed to read HDA file, or in time needed to show HTML page.
    3. Finally, is there any way to create pagination or whatever, ie. to make list more readable and faster ?
    Thank You in advance,

    3. Finally, is there any way to create pagination or whatever, ie. to make list more readable and faster ?This would require some customizing (not sure if anything is available by default). The easiest way is to provide some filtering (e.g. search by metadata value). I can send you a component which modifies the page template in that way (see email in my profile).

  • OAI Event is not reading the workflow queue

    I'm creating the workflow event using iStudio (created automatically by iStudio) with the following information:
    Item Type: OAI Process Bundle: EDWARD
    Internal Name: I_EDWARD_PAATRANSACTION_OAI_V1
    Display Name: Receive Request EDWARD.PAATransaction:IN
    Description: OAI Event
    Event Action: Receive
    Event Filter: oai.edward.paatransaction.oai_v1.receive_request.oai_v1
    Cost: 0.0
    I also create the event subscription for oracle.apps.wf.event.agent.create, oracle.apps.wf.event.event.create, and oracle.apps.wf.event.subscription.create and put the following information:
    System: WFLOWDEV.MAXIMUSBC.CA
    Source Type: External
    Event Filter: oracle.apps.wf.event.subscription.create
    Source Agent: <blank>
    Phase: 1
    Status: Enabled
    Rule Data: Key
    Rule Function: WF_EVENT_FUNCTIONS_PKG.RECEIVE
    Workflow Item Type: EDWARD
    Workflow Process Name: PAATRANSACTION
    Out Agent: <blank>
    To Agent: [email protected]
    Priority: Normal
    Parameters: <blank>
    I can see that the interconnect OAI Hub is putting a message into the WF_IN queue but the event does not dequeue the message and run the process.
    So, I don't know if I'm missing anything here or there is something wrong with my configuration.
    Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks,
    Edward

    Edward,
    I am basing this reply on the OAI build I have on my laptop, which is an Oracle 9iAS Integration build, however I do not think that it has changed since.
    Before you do this, it is always a good idea to add the "OAIHeader" objects to the Common View.
    1. Under "Common Views", expand the "Business Objects" and find your Business Object (e.g. MY_BO)
    2. Under the "Events", expand the "Events" to find your event (e.g. MY_EVENT)
    3. Highlight you event (MY_EVENT), Right-click on your mouse, and choose "Edit". This will bring up the "Edit Event" window.
    4. Choose "Add". This will create a new line.
    The 'Name' will be blank.
    The 'Type' will be "String".
    The 'Owner' will be blank.
    The 'Array' will be blank, and
    The 'Default' will be 'NULL'.
    5. On the 'Type' value ("String"), click on the value "String". This will bring up a pop-up list.
    6. From this list, select "Data Type..."
    7. Now click once anywhere in the "Edit Event" window. This will bring up a "Common Data Types" window.
    8. Scroll down, find and highlight the the name "OAIHeader". Press 'OK'
    9. Now back in the 'Edit Event' window, you will notice that the type is "OAIHeader".
    10. Now give the "Name" (currently still blank) a value. Give it the name "OAIHeader" too.
    11. Press 'OK'
    12. You will now see that the Event now has "OAIHeader" information. Some of these values will be of interest and of use later.
    The actual values for "EventName, EventVersion" etc. will be added to the data of the message at Runtime.
    *** TIP: I always do the above exercise first for every Business Object event I create. Once I've included the 'OAIHeader', I then add all of the actual other message attributes to the message afterwards. ***
    Create Content Based Routing Rules
    In this example, I am going to route a message from a sending DB Adapter (DBAPP1) to the Workflow Adapter (WORKFLOW). Then once the message has been passed to the Workflow, it will be passed to the receiving DB Adapter (DBAPP2).
    1. In iStudio, under the "Design" tab, expand the "Enabling Infrastructure".
    2. Under "Content Based Routing", find your Business Object.
    e.g. MY_BO
    3. Expand the Business Object, and then expand the "Events" to find your event.
    e.g. MY_EVENT
    4. On the Event (MY_EVENT), highlight it, then right mouse click. Choose Edit.
    5. A window will pop-up called "Content Based Routing: MY_EVENT"
    6. Hit the "New" button.
    7. Expand the message structure (MY_EVENT), and find the 'OAIHeader' node.
    8. Expand the "OAIHeader" node, and select (highlight) the "SendingApplication" attribute.
    9. Press 'Next'. This will move you onto the next screen.
    10. From the drop-down list, choose the "==" Operator. Press 'Next'.
    11. Enter a Value in the box. Since my sending application is "DBAPP1", type in "DBAPP1". Press Next.
    12. Since I have completed the "source" CBR rules, check the "Condition Complete" radio button, and Press 'Next'.
    13. Now in the next screen, select "WORKFLOW". Now press 'Finish'.
    Perform the same as above, this time routing the message from the "WORKFLOW" adapter to your receiving adapter (e.g. 'DBAPP2'). If the Workflow message does not have the 'OAIHeader' information in it's structure, once again refer to the above and add it in.
    Once you have completed all of your CBR configuration, use "File > Push Metadata" to send this new message structure and CBR rules to your adapters (DBAPP1, WORKFLOW and DBAPP2).

    Yan

  • Configuring UBBCONFIG for Tuxedo/Q-Error for rebuild message queue server

    Hi..
    Am using Tuxedo10g R3 on AIX 5.3..
    Am using IBM COBOL..
    I need to write a program with Queue Concept in cobol,so for that i created queuespace and queue using the qmadmin command..

    i used (pg no: 28)
    TMQUEUE SRVGRP="TMQUEUEGRP1" SRVID=1000 RESTART=Y GRACE=0 CLOPT="-s myqueuespace:TMQUEUE" in the servers section but while
    booting TMQUEUE failed to start.. so i went for the alternative option provided in the same document as
    buildserver -o TMQUEUE -s myqueuespace:TMQUEUE -r TUXEDO/QM \

    followed by
    TMQUEUE SRVGRP="TMQUEUEGRP1" SRVID=1000 RESTART=Y GRACE=0 \

  • Cannot find metadata values in workflow queue

    I need some help customizing workflow action menues in WF_INQUEUE_LIST.
    What I´m trying is show actions depending on a customized metadata value.
    I´m able to put certain javascript code in order to modify standard behavior if conditions involve workflow metadata (i.e. wfStepName, wfName) but what i need is doing the same based on custom metadata (i.e. xMyMetadata).
    I have been looking for some information in doc but functions like wfCurrentGet or GetValue don´t work.
    I´ve created a custom component with an html resource overwriting setup_workflow_action_popups.
    Basically is the same code that original. There´s only a little change: in the Approve Link creation section I have put this code (is stupid i know)
    +<$exec rsAppendNewRow("PopupProps")$>+
    +<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "label", lc("wwApprove"))$>+
    *<$if strEquals(dWfStepName, "TheStepName")== true$>*
    *<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "function", "javascript:{alert('Workflow Step is <$dWfStepName$>');document.Approve_<$dID$>.submit();}")$>*
    +<$else$>+
    *<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "function", "javascript:{alert('Step is not desired one but <$dWfStepName$>'); document.Approve_<$dID$>.submit();}")$>*
    +<$endif$>+
    +<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "ifClause", "AllowReview")$>+
    +<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "class", "workflow")$>+
    +<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "id", "workflowApprove")$>+
    This change works. But i need make the action depending on a custom metadata value i.e. xMyCustomMD
    *<$if strEquals(xMyCustomMD, "")== false $>*
    *<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "function", "javascript:{alert('<$xMyCustomMD$>');document.Approve_<$dID$>.submit();}")$>*
    +<$else$>+
    *<$exec setValue("PopupProps", "function", "javascript:{alert('Value not find');document.Approve_<$dID$>.submit();}")$>*
    +<$endif$>+
    I am not capable of retrieve the value of xMyCustomMD
    How can i get access in this page to this metadata?
    Thank you very much

    Can you check what metadata you can see?
    I gathered that you have an access to dWfStepName, and dID, but not to other metadata values - sounds like the values you can see are taken from workflow temporary files and if you want to have all the metadata of the item you will have to run a search query to get them. I would suggest to follow to other workflow screens (workflow_review_frames template), because there it is possible to see all metadata and you can get an idea what needs to be done.

  • Add anotehr subscriber ? Or dod I need to rebuild original queue table

    11.2 rdbms
    QUEUE to DBLINK PROPAGATION.
    I want to add another queue in remote side to read same messages from source.
    --------------------------------------> TARGETDB (QUEUE1)
    Source DB Message -------------------------------
    --------------------------------------> TARGETDB (QUEUE2)
    So any message thats enqueued in source is dequeued by both queues in destination ..... no impact on each other.
    any links ?
    Edited by: 957751 on Sep 7, 2012 12:52 PM

    Thanks
    So the source and destination queues are already multi consumer.
    So if I add another subscriber to the source queue - I dont need any code changed whilst enqueueing ?
    Just need to have the subscriber at the remote side dequeue. ?
    Also when I set it up from scratch - basically
    Add multiconsumer queue at source
    add two subscribers
    enqueue a message ......
    I didnt see any messages loaded in the AQ$ table under READY ....... although pl/sql call was successful

  • Workflow queues with a timeout for lack of action

    I am looking for a way to have a work queue (table) with jobs needing aprovals and after a while of sitting there they need to move to the next level. For example.
    I have a ticket system. A new ticket is entered and it must be approved by 5 people. 2 are on a trip. How do I make it skip these people after sitting and waiting for 4 hours.
    Currently this was my plan. Create a DB job that runs every 5 minutes and compare the SYSDATE to the ticket age. If it is expired them move the ticket to the approved queue(table)
    Any better way for doing this?

    Hello Tim,
    it seems to be a requirement that tickets don't wait for more than 4 hours, so I don't think there is a better way to ensure this.
    Possibly you could enhance the process if you could provide a table to track the availability of the approvers: If you can see that two approvers aren't available, you could move the ticket as soon as the third available one approved the ticket, so the ticket wouldn't have to wait for the "timeout".

    to purge that queue I followed the oracle Action plan.
    1. Stop Workflow Agent Listeners and Mailers
    2. Find the tablespace where indexes on corrid for queue tables are created :
    select distinct tablespace_name
    from dba_indexes,dba_queues
    where index_name like 'WF%N1'
    and table_name=queue_table
    and name like 'WF%';
    3.
    update wf_notifications
    set mail_status = 'SENT'
    where status in ('OPEN', 'CANCELED')
    and mail_status in ('MAIL', 'INVALID')
    commit;
    4. Rebuild mailer's queue :
    sqlplus apps/APPSpw @$FND_TOP/patch/115/sql/wfntfqup APPS APPSpw APPLSYS
    when i reuild the queue I am facing with the error:

  • KIMYONG: Outbound Workflow Notification Event Message 를 tracking하는 방법

    Purpose
    Outbound Workflow Notification Event Message 가 발송됐으나 user가 받아보지 못한경우 가 발생했으나 user
    이를 tracking하는 방법을 알아보고자 한다.
    Solution
    1. notification 이 발송될때 oracle.apps.wf.notification.send event발생한다
    event key 로 Notification ID 를 사용한다.
    2. 다음 조건에서만 The e-mail notification이 발송된다.
    i) Notification status is OPEN or CANCELED
    ii) Notification mail_status is MAIL or INVALID
    SELECT status, mail_status
    FROM wf_notifications
    WHERE notification_id = '&nid';
    iii) Recipient Role has a valid e-mail address and notification preference is in the format MAIL%
    SELECT email_address,
    nvl(WF_PREF.get_pref(name, 'MAILTYPE'),notification_preference)
    FROM wf_roles
    WHERE name = upper('&recipient_role');
    iv) Workflow Deferred Agent Listener is running
    v) Workflow Notification Mailer is running
    3. e-mail로 발송되기전 message가 2번 정지한다.
    Raised --> WF_DEFERRED Queue --> Processed by Deferred Agent Listener --> WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT Queue --> Processed by Notification Mailer and sent as e-mail
    4. oracle.apps.wf.notification.send을 dispatch 할때 error가 발생하면
    message 는WF_ERROR queue에 enqueue되고 .
    Error Agent Listener 가 WF_XML.Error_Rule 을 수행하는 oracle.apps.wf.notification.send 의
    ERROR subscription 을 dispatch합니다.
    5. notification id 와 WF_DEFERRED and WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue 의 message stauts 등을 확인하기 위해 $FND_TOP/sql/wfmlrdbg.sql 를 수행합니다.
    PROCESSED in WF_DEFERRED - The message is enqueued to WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT
    PROCESSED in WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT - The message is sent as e-mail
    READY in WF_DEFERRED - Check if Deferred Agent Listener is running
    READY in WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT - Check if Notification Mailer is running
    6. notification id 의 outbound XML message 를 분석합니다.
    . The wfmlrdbg.sql output provides the XML message generated by WF_XML.Generate at the time the script is run. If the original XML message used by the mailer is required to be analyzed following SQL may be used.
    SELECT tab.user_data.text_lob text_lob
    FROM applsys.aq$wf_notification_out tab
    WHERE dbms_lob.instr(tab.user_data.text_lob,'&1') > 0
    7. 필요하다면 WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue 를 rebuild 합니다.
    The wfntfqup.sql script rebuilds the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue by dropping and recreating
    that queue, removing pending notification messages from the WF_DEFERRED queue, and
    repopulating the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue from the Oracle Workflow Notification System
    tables.
    Wfntfqup.sql Version >=115.9
    If you have implemented Oracle Alert and the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue contains any pending
    alert e-mail messages, those messages must be processed before the queue can be rebuilt. The
    wfntfqup.sql script checks the queue for any alert e-mail messages and, if it finds any, the
    script returns an error message that specifies how many alert e-mail messages are pending
    and indicates that these messages must be processed before the script can run.
    Wfntfqup.sql Version <= 115.8
    If you have implemented Oracle Alert and the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue contains any pending
    alert e-mail messages, those messages must be processed before the queue can be rebuilt. The
    wfntfqup.sql script checks the queue for any alert e-mail messages and, if it finds any,
    exits without performing any changes.
    Stop Notification Mailer, rebuild Mailer Queue using $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql/wfntfqup.sql.
