Receiving Automatic calls from "CISCO" name continuously
We have installed one Cisco SX20 VC in our office last week only. Since then we are receiving auto call with name Cisco with no ip address.
Everyday approx. 250 calls we are getting on VC.
VC Network Configuration: Configured with Public static IP address, we don't have firewall in network and using as a standalone VC.
Product:
Cisco TelePresence SX20
Software version:
TC7.3.0.8cb420c
Can someone please help me to fixed this issue ASAP.
Regards,
Wajid Dabir
This has been covered quite a few times already, take a look at this thread; https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12340591/nuisance-h323-calls-sx20 and https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12336591/sourceh323idcisco-incomingcalls and https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12472426/rogue-calls-expressway-e-can-they-be-blockeddropped for starters.
Not much you can do about it unless you put your system on a private address behind a gatekeeper etc.
You can at least avoid the SIP version of these scans by at least turning off SIP listening port, or turning SIP off all together unless you really need it. But no such luck when it comes to these h.323 scans.

Hi all,
We have several customers who work off a 121 NAT configuration who are receiving missed calls from Cisco. This appears to be coming through as a telephone call and happening quite sporadically.
Any suggestions other than blocking source from the router? It is quite difficult to pin point an address as only Cisco is shown.
Thanks in advance
YTThis is a result of external sources trying to exploit possible PTSN trunks in users environments, it's being seen by a lot of people that have video or telephone systems that are accessible on the public internet. You can read a bit more about it in this discussion: sourceh323idcisco-incomingcalls. Only thing that can be done is if you're using a call control server such as VCS you can create a call policy to block the call attempts (there is one I created in the linked discussion), or if the system is stand alone as it appears you're is, block all incoming IPs traffic to the codec except those you trust to allow in. You could get the IP by going through the codec's call history, however that won't help as the source IP changes constantly.

Can you increase the size of the photo that shows when you receive a call from a contact
Can you increase the size of the photo that shows when you receive a call from a contact ?
It used to be if you added the contacts photo on the iOS device they would have a large picture and if you added it from Address Book on OS X they would have a smaller thumbnail. However, since iOS5, all I've been able to get is the larger photo. Try adding the picture directly in the contacts app on your device. That should make it larger.

I received a call from 123?
I dialled 1471 the other day, and I had received a call from 123. I thought that was the number of the speaking clock!
Out of interest, why would the speaking clock call my landline? Or is it something else? Thanks to anyone who can explain.
Solved!

The caller display number was probably faked. The big problem with the whole caller display system is that if you control a digital exchange - even a little PABX (Private Automated Branch Exchange) - you can forge the caller display number.
This is not possible on the BT network, as the presentation number is determined by the BT exchange, which provides the ISDN30 block. This forms part of the ISDN30 configuration data.
On a VOIP system, not controlled by BT, then its quite possible to spoof the called ID if your call originates from a non-BT network outside the UK, where the carrier makes no attempt to authenticate the caller.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

My new IPhone 6 will not receive a call from my wife's phone
I have a new IPhone 6. It will receive and ring all calls except from my wife's IPhone 5?
Her number is not blocked.
Any help? Can your wife make phone calls to others? If her number is not blocked on your device, there is no reason you should not receive a call from her, unless she cannot make calls to others. A block would be the only reason you should not receive a call. Check with your carrier to make sure there is no restriction on their end.

I just receive a call from the number 316.
I just receive a call from the number 316, ...... that was it, I answered, but nothing on the other line. I did a quick check to see if it was some type of message from Verizon, but nothing.
And with the number being only 316. I'm concerned about possible hacking.
Has anyone have any knowledge about this?I know it can be concerning when you receive a call from an unknown number phoenix911. Here's what we recommend to prevent this. I'm sorry our control is limited as to the origination of this call or its ownership.

Automatic Calls from Verizon Wireless?
Recently, I had a situation where I would receive a call from my daughter's Verizon Wireless phone. I could hear people talking in the background (she was on vacation), but nobody responded to my voice. Assuming that it was an accidental redial, I hung up. Within 5-10 seconds I received another call from her phone. Same problem. After receiving 43-45 calls from her phone I sent her an email. She responded that her phone showed no outgoing calls.
Although the problem has resolved itself, I am curious as to what might have caused the issue. Any ideas?

4FXS-DID configuration problem using BRI to receive/send calls from/to PSTN
Hi to all.
Follow is the partial configuration of my CME.
It has a 4FXS card to use analog phones and faxes, and 4 ISDN Basic Rate interfaces.
On each port of the 4FXS DID card happens the following:
If I enable direct-inward-dial
I can receive calls from PSTN.
Off hooking the analog phone I cannot hear any free line tone. I cannot make any call from that phone.
If I disable direct-inward-dial
I cannot receive directly calls form PSTN.
Callers on PSTN after typing my number, they hear a free tone. Then just typing the extension desired the phone ring.
Off hooking the analog phone I hear a free line tone. I can make normal calls to everyone.
I have half the configuration working.
Where am I wrong?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks to all.
Giorgio.

CME#Hi Paolo.
Sorry for the delay. I was on holiday.
I would like to keep separate incoming calls from outgoing calls.
So I decided to keep two dial peers for every BRI interface.
I followed your suggestion on eliminate commands:
"incoming called-number" on FXSs,
various "progress_ind" on BRIs
Also I eliminated "direct-inward-dial" on FXSs,
Today I reconfigured and right tested the dial peers as following:
