Redeem a digital copy

In the past I simply had to click on redeem and I could type in my digital copy code and that was it. Now when I click redeem it takes me to an itunes card option. How do I down load a digital copy without a disc?

As written above - "Open the iTunes app on your iPad"...
You can do it on your computer if you prefer, and then sync the movie via iTunes on your computer to your iPad.
The end result is the same.

You don't say which film you're struggling to download, I had problems with a-team and I ended up emailing the address on the leaflet, turns out they had a lot of problems with people's codes, they then gave me a new code to use! I have now managed to get the film downloaded?

Errors when redeeming a digital copy and trying to transfer to ipod

I redeemed a digital copy of a movie from Itunes and every time I try to transfer it to my Ipod I get the error message "{name of movie] can not be copied to ipod because it can not be played on the Ipod." I even contacted Itunes about it and they told me they couldn't help me because I didn't "Purchase" the movie from Itunes which I find is a bunch of bull because I redeemed and downloaded it from them.

i have the exact same problem, just redeemed my digital copy and same message shows up. i unchecked the selection that downloads HD, so it's SD and i downloaded it a second time but same issue. so i downloaded an older movie that i purchased some time ago, and still the same error. PLEASE HELP!

I had the same problem so I decided to try going to website on the back. (DisneyOzMovieandOffers.com). It will take you to a page that says to redeem code, enter the code that is given to you and click enter. It will give you options of where you would like to download it from. Click iTunes and it will give you the correct code to download the movie from iTunes.

I've tried to redeem a digital copy of a movie on itunes because I don't want to download the "vudu" or "amazoninstantvideo" aps but it keeps telling me the redemption code is invalid. Getting frustrated. I'm typing it in correctly. How do I get it to work?!

It has detailed, objective reviews of many makes and models. Be aware that iMovie is intended to work with Firewire connected MiniDV (digital tape) camcorders. So for best compatibility with the iapps you should narrow your search to MiniDV.
Many users here prefer Sony camcorders. I am a recent Canon convert and love my Canon Elura 100. Check out its review at the above link. The reviewer gives it high marks for performance and low marks for the button layout. Most single-chip camcorders use 1/6 CCD; the Elura has an advantage with its 1/5 CCD. Also, Canon claims to have "true" widescreen, where other makers crop off the top and bottom of the image to create a widescreen effect. One feature to consider is an AV input. This allows you to use the camcorder to capture from VHS, analog Super 8, etc. to convert analog footage into digital and import into iMovie. As this is the best way to do such conversions, it is well worth making sure your camcorder has this feature.
That being said, any Firewire connected miniDV camcorder works equally well with iMovie. It doesn't matter what software comes with the camcorder you purchase, because the software is always Windows only. They know Mac users don't need additional sotware, so they don't try to reinvent the wheel. Also, be aware that the camcorders usually come with a USB cable for Windows users. If a Firewire cable doesn't come in the box, you have to buy one.

Can't get past the iTunes install page to redeem a digital copy of a movie.

Trying to download digital copy of The Hunger Games. I click the iTunes button for the download. It doesn't ask for my redeem code, but tells me I must install iTunes. iTunes is already installed on this laptop. I tried reinstalling, but still end up on the iTunes installer page. How do I move past this page?

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

You need to purchase an external CD/DVD drive which can read/write to/from the media and is compatible with a computer. I don't own a PS3, but from what I just saw on their website, I don't believe that would be compatible.

I know that this isn't a real solution for your computer, but the digital copy is tied to your Apple ID. So if you have another Mac, you can redeem it on that Mac, then download the movie to your Retina MBP (Movies in the Cloud FTW).
If you don't own another Mac yourself, find a friend's computer, log out of his iTunes (or make a new user account), log into your Apple ID within iTunes, Authorize iTunes, then insert the DVD and redeem it. I redeemed Skyfall & Frankenweenie from an iMac at work just to see if it works, which it does. Heck, I don't think they even need a Mac, a PC running iTunes should work!

the digital copy offer for The Dark Knight expired in November of 2009, at least in the US. This is a scam being run by the movie studios; they advertise digital copies on the Blu-Ray and DVD disks they sell, but often don't tell you up front that they're redeemable only for a limited time after the movie is first released.

Blue ray will not let me redeem my digital copy on itunes

I just opened a new copy of the "Seven Pounds" Blue Ray DVD and it has a digital copy disc inside...only problem is it will not let me transfer the digital copy to my itunes b/c it was supposed to be redeemed by March 2010....So what do I do now? How can I get the digital copy onto my itunes...I have the code to redeem but it's not working b/c the date is two years past the redemption date....***!!!! PLEASE HELP ME

This is a not infrequent observation here. It's a somewhat underhanded practice by the movie industry and you just have to read the expiration date before buying a movie if you want the digital download too. You can complain to the distributor of the DVD but that's about all that can be done.

From what I've read, the digital copy is on the bonus disk; it's not downloaded from the iTunes Store but rather copied from the disk.
