Referencing Shared Java EE Libs in Weblogic from WAR inside EAR

We have a number of applications that need to reference to both Oracle and our own Shared Java EE Libraries on WebLogic. They are structured as folows:
Our own shared library, "framework", is packaged as a JAR inside an EAR, along with all non-Oracle, third-party libraries (JAR:s) and deployed as a shared library in WebLogic. This is it's manifest:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Created-By: Apache Maven 3.0.4
Built-By: lajokon
Build-Jdk: 1.7.0_07
Implementation-Vendor: <organization>
Implementation-Title: Framework Lib
Implementation-Version: 15.0.2
Implementation-Vendor-Id: org
Specification-Vendor: <organization>
Specification-Title: Framework Lib
Specification-Version: 15.0.2
Extension-Name: framework-lib
All JAR:s are in APP-INF/lib
The applications are each packaged in a WAR inside its own EAR. The WAR weblogic.xml:
<wls:weblogic-web-app>
<wls:weblogic-version>10.3.6</wls:weblogic-version>
<wls:context-root>app-name</wls:context-root>
<wls:library-ref>
<wls:library-name>adf.oracle.domain.webapp</wls:library-name>
<wls:specification-version>1.0</wls:specification-version>
<wls:exact-match>false</wls:exact-match>
</wls:library-ref>
<wls:library-ref>
<wls:library-name>jsf</wls:library-name>
<wls:specification-version>2.0</wls:specification-version>
<wls:exact-match>false</wls:exact-match>
</wls:library-ref>
</wls:weblogic-web-app>
The EAR application.xml:
<application>
<display-name>app-name</display-name>
<module>
<web>
<web-uri>app-name.war</web-uri>
<context-root>/app-name</context-root>
</web>
</module>
</application>
The EAR weblogic-application.xml:
<weblogic-application>
<library-ref>
<library-name>adf.oracle.domain</library-name>
<specification-version>1.0</specification-version>
<exact-match>false</exact-match>
</library-ref>
<library-ref>
<library-name>coherence</library-name>
<specification-version>3.7</specification-version>
<exact-match>false</exact-match>
</library-ref>
<library-ref>
<library-name>framework-lib</library-name>
<specification-version>15.0</specification-version>
<exact-match>false</exact-match>
</library-ref>
</weblogic-application>
All libraries are deployed by default or deploy correctly in WL. As does the application EAR.
But, when I access the application i get runtime errors saying it can't load resources located in the WAR:s WEB-INF/classes dir!?
However, I can see, from log output, that it loads resources from the Framework EAR. Why does WL not seem to care about the contents of my WAR?

If I use the Admin Server Console to view the shared library, I can see ecif-ear(1.0,1.0) in the Deployments list. Its State is shown as "Active", Type is "Library", Deployment Order is 100.
I deployed the shared library using the Admin Server Console but deployed the referencing application using WorkShop for WebLogic Platform by Run As -> Run on Server. The Eclipse error log shows the following Exception Stack Trace:

  • Java files from a EAR file and from inner (inside EAR)

    I want to read all Java files from a EAR file and from inner (inside EAR) EAR or WAR file with out unpacking.
    suppose "Demo.ear" contaions the following files:
    abc.java
    programs / a.java
    programs / b.java
    src / index.java
    src / com / myFolder / main.java
    src.war
    and suppose "src.war" again contains some java files inside differenet folders.
    The main problem is that i can read all java files from "Demo.ear" but unable to reading from "src.war" b'coz my program is using JarFile class constructor which needs a archive file path, So only top level archive having the path but not the inner archives.
    So, pls help me out to this problems
    Thanks in advance

    Firstly Sorry to writing long letter. but i was unable to express my problem.
    see my code==============================
    JarFile jarFile = new JarFile("Demo.ear");
    Enumeration e=jarFile.entries();
    while (e.hasMoreElements())
    JarEntry entry=(JarEntry)e.nextElement();
    if (entry.getName().endsWith(".war"))
    // Then what Next to do...........
    ===========================================
    you have mentioned "theFile" , What is this?...............
    InputStream in = theFile.getInputStream(theEntryOfTheWAR);
    This line is not a compatible type casting in Java..........
    ZipOutputStream theWar = new ZipInputStream(in);

    Hi Kalyan,
    Thanks for the reply, i tried to clean up cache and tmp directory on all the Managed server and bounce the middleware along with nodemanager but i still have the same error.
    Could you let me know what all steps are required for upgrading 10.3.5 to 10.3.6?

  • Error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0

    So, I have a sligtly old computer that I use web browsers like midori on, because they are good for slow computers. Whenever I launch dwb or midori or luakit from the launcher in the Gnome shell, nothing happends. When launching from the terminal (dwb here, it happens for all three) I get:
    dwb: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0: file too short
    and when installing packages I get:
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so.0.16.10 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libtotem.so.0 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libxvidcore.so.4.3 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0.22.8 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so.0 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libxvidcore.so is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libxvidcore.so.4 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libtotem.so.0.0.0 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0 is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libtotem.so is empty, not checked.
    ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so is empty, not checked.
    The package installs, and then this prints out.
    What can I do to fix it?
    Note: this happened after a system update

    Alright, I read the thread and preformed
    sudo pacman -Syyf <all packages updated>
    but the option wasn't found (-f)
    so i did
    sudo pacman -Syyu <all packages updated>
    and it spit out several hundered lines consisting of:
    webkitgtk2: /usr/share/webkitgtk-1.0/images/panIcon.png exists in filesystem
    except with different packages and files
    help?

  • Error while trying to connect to weblogic from remote client

    Hi
    I was trying to connect to JMX MBeanserver from a aremote client using some sample code that was posted. Ive tried even the samples that I found in the Admin Guide itself. Im not certain if any server configuration is needed. Ive tried the below with all three protocols t3, iiop, http with the same result. I had also enabled IIOP on the server through the console.
    I get an error when trying to conenct using the JMXConnection Factory i.e. at the last line of the following code:
    String protocol = "t3"; // can be t3, http, iiop
    String hostname = "santapoco.eng";
    int port = 7001;
    String uri = "/jndi/"+"weblogic.management.mbeanservers.runtime";
    JMXServiceURL serviceURL = new JMXServiceURL(protocol, hostname, port, uri);
    Hashtable h = new Hashtable();
    h.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "weblogic");
    h.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "weblogic");
         h.put(JMXConnectorFactory.PROTOCOL_PROVIDER_PACKAGES, "weblogic.management.remote");
    JMXConnector connector =JMXConnectorFactory.connect(serviceURL, h);

  • How do you check what version of the java basic libs

    Dear SDN team,
      I am currently using EP 6.0.2.5 , I have just installed patch 5 and I am wondering if I should patch my JAVA Basic libs.  2 Questions
    1.   How can I tell which version I am using now
    2.   Should I patch these libs and why?
    Thanks
    Jeremy

    Hi,
    In The SDM Tool look for an SDA that was deployed from the SAP Java Libs package and then you will see something like:
    Software Type: JAVA-LIB
    Implementation Version: 6.20.<b>14</b>20031219134547.0000
    This means that you are using SAP Java Libs 14.
    It is recommanded to use the latest Java Libs because fixed and enhancements are provided with these libraries.
    Kind regsrds,
    Aviad

    Put the jar file at $FND_TOP/java/3rdparty/standalone and add that jar file entry in jserv.properties. That should do the work for you.

    I was wondering if there is a way to avoid the forward referencing shared members errors I get when creating an account hierarchy with EIS. I am creating the hierarchy automatically from a parent-child recursive table with no manual maintenance.Thanks in advance

    You have the option of "Deleting the Members First" when you run a Member Load.Only the outline is affected, the data itself remains unaffected until you run a calc. Then it will roll up properly.Good Luck,Tim

  • Java.io.IOException using weblogic.jspc

    I've seen a number of similar questions on this but no answers. Can
              anyone provide some insight?
              I have a JSP containing a custom tag library that compiles and executes
              successfully when deployed as a war file under wls 5.1 sp8 but running
              the weblogic.jspc compiler from the command line produces a
              java.io.IOException: cannot resolve '/WEB-INF/tlds/struts-template.tld'
              into a valid tag library.
              The web.xml file includes:
              <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>/WEB-INF/tlds/struts-template.tld</taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/struts-template.tld</taglib-location>
              </taglib>
              The command I'm using is:
              java -Dweblogic.home=/opt/weblogic
              weblogic.jspc
              -d /home/wmeier/java/StrutsTemplate/build/jsp
              -docroot /home/wmeier/java/StrutsTemplate/web
              -contextPath StrutsTemplate
              -encoding default
              -keepgenerated
              -g
              introduction.jsp
              I can get the jsp compiler to work when I change the taglib uri
              declaration from
              <%@ taglib uri='/WEB-INF/tlds/struts-template.tld'...
              to
              <%@ taglib uri='/tlds/struts-template.tld'
              This modified uri also works as a war file under WebLogic but fails
              under the Tomcat 3.2 reference implementation.
              Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the compiler to work without
              hacking the taglib uri?
              Thanks,
              Bill Meier

    Hm, well... the API docs say for non-existing files you get an IllegalArgumentException, and IOException is for "no application registered" or "application won't start"...
    Just a guess: is the firewall blocking the execution?I don't think it is a fire wall issue since everything runs on the same machine (the file is created and invoked on the same machine)
    Any other ideas?

  • How to access Weblogic from Tuxedo?

    Hello,
    We have a system where we have an external Tuxedo server that handles registration of a particular service for a customer. We would now like this server to be able to notify an EJB in our Weblogic system of this. How can this be done?
    /Thomas

    Bidirectional interoperability with Tuxedo is currently not available in the
    products off-the-shelf. Jolt is a product that allows Java environment such
    as Weblogic to connect to Tuxedo, but not vice versa. Please make sure that
    your account representative from BEA is aware of your requirements.
    Thanks,

    Java WebServices Tutorial, v1.5_01 refenced a lot of code examples, which are supposed to be in <JWSDP_HOME>/docs/tutorial/examples.
    I have downloaded and installed "Java Web Services Developer Pack v1.5" and "Java WebServices Tutorial, v1.5_01" from http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/webservicespack.html
    But none of these downloads includes the code examples.

    But you were talking about a different set of examples referenced in a different document. You can get these examples when you install downloaded file:jwsdp-1_5-windows-i586.exe
