Refreshing kml files in Maps

If you put in a web address to a kml file into the Google Maps application it will load the appropriate map with pushpin for the location. But, now that I have it loaded I want to be able to refresh it (it's a moving vehicle) and I can't figure out how.
This would be a cool way of seeing where a city's buses are, but once the kml is loaded Maps there doesn't seem to be a way to tell it to go back and look at the kml again.

  • Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KML files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?

    Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KVM files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?
    Here is the particular application: (note I haven't gotten the code to compile yet -- seems to be several differently named environment variables in Mac unix than in Linux that are making the compile blow up -- but that's another issue) there is a freeware application that can do radio path loss prediction and plot path loss contours on a map. It has an option to output the data as KML files which can be imported into Google Earth, in order to display the path loss contours on Google Earth maps. I guess you could liken it to displaying overlays of GIS-like data in Google Earth. I would like to know if there is a mechanism to facilitate importing KML data files to overlay (preferably in a translucent fasion so that you could see the underlying map) onto Mac OS 10.9 Maps?

    They're also known to patent things they never release. So while it indicates that they're investigating such things, a patent application is no guarantee that anything will ever come of it, much less be immanent. And that application was filed in 2012 and is really for something rather different.

    As I stated, "possibly."
    While the commerce side of it has little to do with the KML files, per se, the API for the layer data should allow for any type of overlay.
    Also, the patent was filed Dec 19, 2013. There was a related patent filed in 2012. Not sure what it is about.

  • Maps & KML, how many placemarks max in a kml file ?

    100 I believe, but I've not tested it.

  • Kml file on google map on labview

    Hello there!
    I'm planning to add a Google Map into LabVIEW but this time, with a KML file. I made a KML file and I would like to also load it with the Google Map in LabVIEW. How can I do it?
    Thank you very much!

    Been 1 year in LabVIEW but still a beginner.

    How can I put these kml files with google maps into my VI?

  • Create .kml based google map in iWeb

    Using iWeb 08, I can easily and successfully insert google maps into my pages using the web widget. I am then limited to an address though for the base map.
    Does anyone know whether it is possible to insert a google earth based .kml file in iWeb so that when a user opens the page, the desired placemarks etc... are displayed and available?
    If so, how might I go about accomplishing this?
    any pointers are very much appreciated!

    Don't use iweb2 google map widget.
    Instead, go to google map, enter the GPS coordinates, then add it using HTML Snippet. See this thread:

  • Embedding KML files

    I saved a track in MotionX on my iPhone. Sent it to myself. I have a KML file that looks just fine in both Google Maps and Google Earth. I would like to embed this track in an entry on my blog (using iWeb, hosted on MobileMe). I tried to do it the same way I've done other maps (build the map, copy the html, etc) but it doesn't work with this file.
    Can it be done? Does anyone know how?
    Thanks, HNick

    You need to have good KML file and a Google account, with Google account you have My Maps feature when logon to http://www.google.com/maps. Here are the steps to build a typical Google map from KML file:
    1) logon to Google maps account and click on My Maps.
    2) click on Create new map (upper left link just below Google logo).
    3) click on Import (upper left link just below 'My Maps' link), select your KML file to upload.
    Google will make a map from KML file.
    4) give the map a title, choose whether it is Public or Unlisted then Save it (Save button)
    5) click on Link (upper right link just above the map).
    you can Customize and preview embedded map (the lower link in the drop down pane).
    when done, copy the result code and add it to your iWeb page using HTML Snippet.
    that will get you a typical Google map from KML file... nothing fancy as my examples, which have placemarks (balloon thingies) and larger view mode.

  • How do you plot a path using a .kml file in an embedded google earth in Labview?

    Over the last few days I have been reading all the google earth and lv postings that I can find and I have downloaded a variety of vis and examples that people have posted. I haven't been able to find or figure out a way to display a .kml file that I am creating based on a path of lat and long values in an embedded google earth map in labview.  I was hoping to have the user select a portion of the path on a x,y lv graph and then use those cursor coordinates to create a kml file of the lat and long values of that selected path (I have already completed this portion of the code) and display that alongside in a google earth map.  All the examples I have found show how to display a point in the embedded GE map - does anyone know how to display a number of points along a path?
    Thanks so much!

    Hi,
    I have found an example thatprogramatically creates and modifies a .kml file with pushpin information:

  • Error when importing KML file

    I successfully imported several KML files, but then one failed with the following message:
    Details: unable to parse due to
    1. <Placemark/> Day4(15th)-BusTolBudva: coordinate element is either missing or contains syntax errors.
    Yet other applications (such as Google Earth) import it OK.
    FWIW, it's a track (path) containing timestamps, IOW the sort of track that can be animated in GE's 'time slider'.
    What's the likely cause please? Is there perhaps some known conflict or limitation between Bing and GE KML syntax?
    I've uploaded the file in case anyone cares to try it:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4019461/BingError.kml
    Terry, East Grinstead, UK

    It looks like the issue is that this shape is using a Google Extension which isn't supported by Bing Maps. That's why Bing Maps isn't able to load it. I've worked with a lot of KML files and written a number of KML parsers and this is actually the first
    time I've seen this extension.
    Note that Google has a bunch of extensions that are specific to Google Earth for KML which are not a part of the KML standard defined by the OGC:
    http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/kml/. Google itself only supports a subset of these functionalities in their non-Google Earth map controls.

  • How Do RoboHelp 9 WebHelp Generated Files Handle Map IDs and Aliases?

    The text below was written by our team's developer/architect. I am the help author who uses RoboHelp to write content and generate the help files, but I am clueless how it all gets generated and is deployed. Please help. We use RoboHelp 9. I use it in Windows XP and our app and help run on IE 7, 9, and Firefox (multiple versions).
    "Our application uses the numeric identifiers associated with the Map ID. For example, to get to the <appname>_home_page.htm file, we use the number 1053. <appname> = pecs, in this example.
    All of this is used in a call to a RoboHelp method defined in the RoboHelp_CSH.js file. The mehtod we are calling is the RH_ShowHelp() JavaScript method and the code to perform the call, when you click on Page Help, is this:
    RH_ShowHelp(0, ''/pecsHelp/index.htm>pecsHelp',HH_HELP_CONTEXT,topic);
    Topic is translated to the Map ID number for the page help. HH_HELP_CONTEXT is defined in the RoboHelp_CSH.js file. This method translates into a URL and from what I have seen, the URL that gets generated is this:
    http://{server}[:port]/pecsHelp/index.htm/{server}[:port]/pecsHelp/index.htm#<id=1053>>pecsHelp
    Server and port get replaced with the appropriate values. I have no clue how id=1053 is supposed to get translated to mean "pecs_home_page.htm". If you check the PECS_help.h file, you will see the following entry:
    #define PECS_Home_Page1 1053
    Then in the RoboHelp alias file (PECS 3.0.ali), the following line is in the file:
    <alias name="PECS_Home_Page1" link="pecs_home_page.htm"> </alias>
    But both of these files are used during the WebHelp generation process and I don't know how the WebHelp generated files handle the Map ID and aliases."

    You need to assign the numbers you find in the pecs_help.h file to topics in your help. You do this in Context Sensitive Help > Map Files > All Map IDs. (From RH7, but I assume the location is similar in RH9.) This creates the entries in the .ali file.
    Peter Grainge suggests a couple of sites to read for a greater understanding here:
    http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/calling_webhelp/using_map_ids.htm
    (Although the second  site is based on RH X5, the basic concepts and procedures should be very similar. )

    Hai All
    I have temp.XML and temp.XSL template in our server machine.
    when i give a print from client machine first time it gives the record,and next time it did not get refresh.Always it shows the previous records in the browser.But when i go into the server machine and click on temp.xml,it shows the current record(correct records)
    How to refresh XML file  from my client machine?

    You never delete a Time Machine backup by dragging it to the Trash. You are supposed to use the TM application to manage the backups. What you will need to do now is to simply erase the drive using Disk Utility.

  • Creative ZEN - is it possible to organise the files in map

    I have an iPod where mp3-files are organised according to the tag-data (album - artist - genre etc). But I would like another mp3 player where my mp3-files are organised in maps like they are on my PC. So my question is if that is possible on the Creative Zen? If not so do anybody know another type of mp3-player where the user will be able to organize the files in maps on the player itself?
    Best Regards
    Lars

    Is your source very large in the number of files to transfer
    - It's just mp3 files (about 200 CD's ripped to mp3 files)For small sources (music) you can manually build and drag your MP3 files to your manually built folders.
    - Do you mean it's possible to create folders on the Creative ZEN itself Is your source in MP3 format NON DRM protected music - I do not know what "NON DRM protected music" means Do you have a link to download the manual for the Creative ZEN Message Edited by larshgf on 04-5-2008 02:24 PM

  • CUCM & Unity - both 8.6 - to 9.1.2 - Refresh upgrade file ? & Reload Sequence

    Hi guys,
    I have two questions..
    I have to update CUCM 8.6.2 (Cluster of 2 ) to 9.1.2
    And Unity 8.6.2 ( cluster of 2 ) to 9.1.2
    First question,
    Do I need the refresh upgrade file For CUCM 8.6.2 before upgrade ?
    Do I need the refresh upgrade file For Unity 8.6.2 before upgrade ?
    Second question,
    From what I know For CUCM I Update PUB First, then Reboot PUB... once done I Update CUCM SUB and Reboot SUB.
    For Unity, I think I have to update Unity PUB ( no reboot) then Update Unity SUB ( once both update, I reboot PUB, and when it is UP I reboot Unity SUb )
    is that right ?
    thanks,

    Here is the process for migrating licenses:
    Upgrade your apps to version 9, you will run in 60 day demo mode
    Install ELM and add UCXN and CUCM instances to it
    Go through license migration process in ELM
    2 files will be generated for license migration one for CUCM and one for UCXN
    Send these to [email protected]
    Cisco will issue new licenses for version 9 based on what was configured and what you are entities to based on UCSS
    My experience is that they don't spend too much comparing to what you are actually entitled to so you may want to need to work with them on manually adjusting anything, i.e. convert Enhanced/Enhnaced Plus to CUWL, etc.

  • SFTP sender to File receiver mapping of file names

    My scenario is: sender channel = SFTP (Seeburger) transferring multiple PDF files to Receiver adapter File (NFS).
    These PDF files need to have the same name as the original files from the sender (3rd party) system.
    Because these files are being processed without an interface, I can't use UDF to help map the file names.
    I've tried using Seeburger's localejbs/Seeburger/AttribMapper to map the names, as follows:
    File (NFS) receiver channel config:
    - ASMA boxes for 'Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes' and 'File Name' are ticked
    - Module localejbs/Seeburger/AttribMapper is on the first line in the module tab under processing sequence, with module key = AttributeMapper
    - Under Module Configuration:
      - Module Key = AttributeMapper
      - Parameter Name = http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File/FileName
      - Parameter Value = @http://seeburger.com/xi/SFTP/dtSubject
    (I haven't entered any attribute module config on the sender side)
    This setup fails on the receiver side with the message 'Delivering the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.RetryControlException: Channel stopped by administrative task.' (not very helpful!).  All I can get from that is that it doesn't like my module configuration!
    Can anyone help me understand the correct way to do the file name mapping for my specific scenario?
    Regards,
    Christine

    We've got this working at last!
    The main problem was indeed the missing .sca file from Seeburger:  SeeModuleCollectionPI.sca
    Our Basis team deployed this file this morning.  After a bit of fiddling around with the attribute mapping, my test files were transferred successfully with their original names.
    The config I ended up with is just as described in another forum post for SFTP to FTP, but I'll repeat it in more detail here:
    Sender channel
    Parameters tab:
    Adapter Type = SFTP (Seeburger)
    (sender, transport & message protocol = SFTP)
    Scheduler = x in all appropriate days, with interval = 1 (minimum allowed)
    (rest here is specific to your environment, but I set filename to *.pdf to get all .pdf files from the sender)
    Module tab
    Processing Sequence
    Number  Module Name                                          Type                                          Module Key
    1            localejbs/Seeburger/AttribMapper          Local Enterprise Bean     AttribMapper
    2            localejbs/Seeburger/solution/sftp           Local Enterprise Bean     solutionid
    3            localejbs/CallSapAdapter                   Local Enterprise Bean     exit
    Module Configuration
    Module Key        Parameter Name                                               Parameter Value
    AttribMapper          http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File/FileName         @http://seeburger.com/xi/common/dtSubject
    Receiver Channel
    Parameters tab:
    Adapter type = File
    (receiver, with transport protocol File System (NFS), etc)
    Target tab:
    Target directory (set to your required PI server directory)
    File Name Schema = * (can be anything, will be ignored)
    Processing tab:
    (your requirements-specific settings - mine were create, write directly, file type binary)
    Advanced tab:
    Under Adapter-Specific Message Attributes (ASMA):
    tick the following:
    Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes
    Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing
    File Name
    Modules tab:
    Processing Sequence
    Number  Module Name                                          Type                                          Module Key
    1            CallSapAdapter                                       Local Enterprise Bean     0
    (nothing under Module Configuration)
    Thanks to those who kindly took the time to try and help me, your suggestions pointed me at the real problem.

  • PI 7.1 : Taking a input PDF file and mapping it to a hexBinary attribute

    Hello All,
    We have a requirement which involves taking in an input PDF file and mapping it to a message type with binary attribute and sending it to an R3 system.
    Can anyone please detail the steps or point us to the correct documents for setting up the scenario.
    The scenario is file to Proxy adapter. The part which we need assitance is pulling up the input pdf and mapping it to binary field.
    Thanks.
    Kiran

    Thanks Praveen,Mayank,Sarvesh and Andreas for your  valuable help with the issue.
    I was able to successfully pick up the binary PDF file from a file server , encode it using Base 64 and post it to R3.
    I used the following code snippet and added the mentioned jar files to create a new jar file which was used as java mapping in the operation mapping.
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformation;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.*;
    import com.sap.aii.utilxi.base64.api.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class Base64EncodingXIStandard implements StreamTransformation{
         String fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA;
         private Map param;
         public void setParameter (Map map)
              param = map;
              if (param == null)
                   param = new HashMap();
         public static void main(String args[])
              Base64EncodingXIStandard con = new Base64EncodingXIStandard();
              try
                   InputStream is = new FileInputStream(args[0]);
                   OutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(args[1]);
                   con.execute(is, os);
              catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
    public void execute(InputStream inputstream, OutputStream outputstream)
                   DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) param.get("DynamicConfiguration");
                   DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_FILENAME = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
                   fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA = conf.get(KEY_FILENAME);
                   if (fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA == null)
                        fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA = "ToBase64.txt";
              try
                   while ((len = inputstream.read(buffer)) > 0)
                        baos.write(buffer, 0, len);
                   str = Base64.encode(baos.toByteArray());     //buffer);
                   outputstream.write("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?><ROOT>".getBytes());
                   outputstream.write(("<FILENAME>" + fileNameFromFileAdapterASMA + "</FILENAME>").getBytes());
                   outputstream.write( ("<BASE64DATA>" + str + "</BASE64DATA></ROOT>" ).getBytes());
              catch(Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
         byte[] buffer = new byte[1024*5000];
         ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
         int len;
         String str = null;
    I had to do the following configuration settings
    1)  Create a Sender Comm Channel with Adapter Specific message attributes and Filename checkbox checked.
    2) Use the Java Mapping in the Operation mapping.
    The scenario is working smoothly with out any issues.
    Thanks.
