Refuse to take responsibility

Just as I expected they refuse to take responsibility for a defective fan that they know has been an issue for a long time.
Returning my new desktop system for a refund.  
Will refuse to buy HP in the future, was a loyal customer for a long time purchasing several computers and printers over the years,  NO MORE - NEVER AGAIN!!!

    If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
    Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
    Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
    Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
    If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.

  • Customer Services Refused to Take my Complaint

    I am so angry that I have been pacing the floor in my home!!!  BT are a total disgrace.
    We moved to our home 4 years ago and was given my phone number by Virgin and as usual this number had been used by someone else.  We immediately started getting calls for a building business and received the latest call at approximately 6.30pm this evening.  The calls have ranged from bailiffs, a Clerk of Court, building supply companies and carphone warehouse all wanting and then demanding money owed to them and the latest call was from a man wanting to know if we had any jobs as he was looking for employment.  At one point, I even had calls from people who said they were friends of the owners of this dodgy business and said that they would call on their mobile number.  Of course we told them over and over again to tell the business owners to stop giving out our phone number for their debts.  We were actually called by the business owner and given a load of verbal abuse because of what we had told their friends and they didnt see what our problem was.
    We moved to BT from Virgin at the end of last year and kept our number which incidentally was originally a BT number in the first place but of course the calls kept coming, in fact most of the calls above were since we moved to BT including the call from the business owner.  The abuse was so bad that we called the Police who said that there wasn't a lot they could do and that we were to contact BT.
    We called BT and spoke to a very helpful man.  We explained the whole situation.  He looked into the company's name and our telephone number and confirmed that indeed that company did have our telephone number quite some time ago - now over 4 years ago.  He also confirmed that the company had been disconnected because of non payment of bills which is how we got the number.  I was transferred to different departments concerning the phone book and business phone book and yellow pages and was told that their advert would be taken out immediately - over 3 years since I had been given the number.  I was also assured that their advert would be taken off all BT phone books online immediately and I would not be able to see one the next day.  I thought the nightmare had ended but not so.
    Almost a year later the calls are still coming in thick and fast3 yesterday and the latest one this evening.  When asked how he got our number, he said he found it in the BT phonebook.  I saw red to say the least.  I looked up the business phone book online and sure enough the business is advertised with my telephone number.  It is in the business phone book and bt exchanges, who knows what other bt business advertising sites its also on.
    I called BT immediately and was told they could change my phone number.  I told them that it would take me a very long time and cost me financial loss to change my number through calling companies with expensive call rates so I was not prepared to change my number.  Also, what is the point in changing my number to begin this sorry cycle all over again with someone elses old number.  I said I wanted to make a complaint and could she give me the phone number I should contact.  I was told there was none and I had to speak to customer services.  All I can say is customer services my backside!  Of course it was the obligatory indian call centre with all the echoes and not understanding English which was just the start of the problem.  I told the operator I wished to make a complaint so had to go through 4 years worth of information with him on the phone.  His response was 'out of curiosity why dont you change your number'.  My response was out of curiosity, why is BT advertising a business by giving out my residential phone number to which I received no response.  I told him I wanted to speak to a manager but of course there were none available and was told I could speak to a supervisor.  Another non english speaking person came on the line and told me he as a supervisor though I strongly suspect this was a lie. Of course I had to go through the whole thing again - I have bronchitus which made it worse still - but all I got from him was 'ummm' I asked him straight why BT were advertising this company and giving out my residential phone number to be told by him that they are not.  He told me it was not possible for this to happen so I asked him to pull up the business phone book he told me that it would take a long time for him to be able to do that - it took me around a minute.  He left me sitting on a dead phone for 20 minutes before I gave up.
    I have looked on the BT site on how to make a complaint but it's always the online form I come back to but I don't want to use this.  I want a phone number and an email address where I can send my complaint straight.  I need to keep all written communciations about this as I will be taking it to the Ombudsman if BT do not do something to stop this and recompense me for the distress I have been put through.  Can someone please give me the contacts I need.

    I have offered you help so that we can take on this complaint via e-mail in an attempt to resolve it for you.
    You could also raise a complaint via the contact us online form which will generate an email to the complaints team if you specify that you wish to receive an email response, you will be able to keep a paper trail of your complaint.
    I hope this gets resolved and the calls stop being made incorrectly to your home.

  • IPhone refuses to take picture, makes knocking sound.

    Yesterday, and again this morning, I went outside to take some pictures of some mushrooms growing in my yard. The phone would take pictures just fine, but occasionally, it would simple "refuse" to do so. I would press the shutter button, and the shutter animation would close, and then stay there for a bit. Then the camera would make a knocking sound kind of a "thump thump thump" and then go back to normal, having not taken a picture.
    The only thing I could tell is that maybe the images of the mushrooms, would be washed out in the viewer. If I stood and blocked the sunlight it seemed to have no problem with the same shot.

    Did you restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup?
    Sounds like you did the former since photos in your iPhone's camera roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If there is a problem with these photos included with your iPhone's backup that were restored from your iPhone's backup, or another problem with your iPhone's backup, restoring from your iPhone's backup will restore the problem.
    Try restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.

  • Webserver refuses to take SSL cert

    My SSL cert is installed on my server and when I go to Settings pane in Server.app for the host and edit "SSL Certificate" and choose my cert, the UI will collapse the pane below showing the various services. This is because it applies the cert to all services. When I click OK to accept the setting, it should show my cert right after "SSL Cert:" because should now be applied to all services.
    Instead it shows "Custom". When click th "Edit" button again to see whats going on, it shows that all services are using my cert - except the last one - "Websites (Server Website - SSL)"
    For that, is simply shows "None". Changing it to my cert then clicking OK, has no effect. It just reverts back to "None".
    Apache wont start because there is no cert specified and specifying it manually in ..
    "/Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/sites/0000_any_443_.conf"
    ..does no good because OS X simply overwrites it from some place.
    So at this point it's impossible to get Apache going on this host. The Server application refuses to accept my cert for the website. I dont get any errors and I dont see any in the logs either pertaining to some failure to apply the setting.
    Any ideas?

    I forgot to mention that when the Certificate Assistant ask for the Issuer in one of its screen, choose the Intermediate CA certificate. Also, the four PEM files is created in /etc/certificates.
    On a fresh Server app install after your get OD Master running or after you have done the web:command=restoreFactorySettings, visit Server app Certificates screen and Custom select the just created Leaf SSL Certificate next to the Web (Default Server - SSL). This will create the default SSL certificate in the Web service window.
    Also, if any one of the three *conf files are missing in the sites folder, Server app will hose the folder by renaming it as sites-unusable-nnnn and recreate a fresh sites folder with fresh copies of the *.conf files. In addition, if you read the comments within the 0000_any_80_.conf and 0000_any_443_.conf files, there are certain apache http directives which are off-limits to administrator as Server app will modify their values. It suggests that you create a .conf files with your amendments (of course, they must be within the Virtual Host context) and use an Include directive or through the use of the WebApps mechanism.
    Furthermore, you must not set a specific IP address for all your virtual hosts but use Any instead. Since I want to use the built-in Wiki service, I have added wiki.domain.com as Additional Domains for both the Default Servers (since the Default Servers refuse to use ServerName). For my case, since I have multiple IP addresses, I have to specifically amend the virtual_host_global.conf file with a static IP address for the Listen 80 and 443 directives, and since Server app will undo the amendment within the sites folder, I have to bring the virtual_host_global.conf file up one level to the apache2/ folder, amend httpd_server_app.conf to load this virtual_host_global.conf file instead...see below the relevant section of my httpd_server_app.conf file:

    So Server app can happily modify the virtual_host_global.conf file within the sites folder but my settings remain safe one level up.

  • Activesync - who takes responsibility

    I am frankly livid that devices are being sold that you KNOW, and have known for some time, do not work properly.  Syncing with more than one computer is a common business task--even with just a work machine and a laptop, and these expensive devices (800w, in my case) will not do it under WM 6.1.
    I've been a Palm user for many years. Palm, what are you going to do about this?  I am sure it is a Windows problem (since no one seems to have this issue with WM 6.0), but 6.1 is burned into your phones--so it is your product now, and they are still gleefully being sold without a word about this.
    What is being done about this and when can we expect a resolution?

    It is a sorry state of affairs. I was on the phone with Sprint's "Advanced Technical Support" for an hour yesterday trying to sync my sent and replied-to mail. The lady tried and tried, but eventually found out (from extra-advanced tech sup?) that Exchange is required. I asked "what am I supposed to do?" and she said she "had no answer" for me. I asked to get that in writing but no one is allowed to do that.
    In Sprint's 'buzz about wireless' site there is a suggstion box; I asked that Sprint lean on microsoft as they have more weight than I do. Maybe Palm can join in.
    Both Sprint and Palm are at fault for overstating the utility of the 800w. (GPS, to start with). They will say we had 30 days to find out about these things and go on to the next poor customer and bring out yet another phone. (the first post I saw here about the Treo Pro said it doesn't work.)
    As far as responsibilty, they (Palm, Sprint, and MS) will say it is ours for not turning it in before 31 days. There is truth to that, but doesn't it bother them that they make such poor products?
    Palm will probalby do nothing; it's been months. Palm and Sprint will refine standard terms like 'autonomous = must be in range of a Sprint tower' and 'corporate email = Exchange' (I DO work for a corporation) and 'sync = a relation between ONE PC and ONE WM device'.
    It's the easy way out. Makes me want to take a good look at an i-phone and an i-mac.

    I am from Jamaica, I will be visiting the US in July buy an iPad. And i saw ABC News this morning that Apple's sales policy states that the iPad must be purchased by credit or debit card and *"They said, 'Sorry, we don't take cash."* it is true? I don't have any credit card... only cash. tell me if you have any problems with that?

    You can probably purchase the iPad with cash at Best Buy.
    It has already been mentioned in this thread, there are signs in the store and the policy does indeed say a credit card is needed.

    If changing the data type to CLOB is NOT a option at the moment then you can work around using DBMS_SQL to get the LENGTH of the LONG column.
    Something Like what I have below (Not tested) –

  • Aperture 3.4 refuses to take Facebook login

    Let me start by saying I've tried a few remedies found in other threads here, such as deleting Aperture's preferences file, clearing all caches, removing Aperture from my list of approved apps on Facebook, and restarting. This seems really bizarre.
    The problem in a nutshell: If I try to add my Facebook account to Aperture, be it through the preferences pane or by selecting a photo and using the Share menu, Aperture either chokes on adding Facebook and nothing actually happens, or it crashes. Upon restarting Aperture, the Facebook entry under the library's Web heading is gone, as if I never started the process.
    When Aperture manages to not crash but simply choke on the process, a Facebook entry will appear in the sidebar, but Aperture becomes partly unresponsive. Clicking the entry will not display any of my Facebook albums, and clicking any other library item does nothing. I can still scroll the photo viewer on the right, but clicking any photos also results in nothing.
    I'm out of ideas at this point, so I would appreciate any. Thanks.

    There is a problem with the Aperture installer. In some cases the installation is not complete, if you update on top of a recent version.
    I suspect the facebook publisher and AccountConfigurationPlugin are not working. If you see similar lines in the crash logs, you should reinstall Aperture after removing the Application from the Applications Folder and the reinstalling again.

  • Apple doesn't take responsability for the 3G upgrades. I can't work with it

    I updated my iPhone 3G like most of the people having an iPhone 3G, but now it runs very very slowly. I use it at work, but now it's impossible. I called Apple, and the said me it was out of guarantee. Nothing to do. So they "broke" my phone and I cannot go back. Is this legal? When they launched the upgrade it was 3G compatible, but it isn't. I am really disapointed with Apple.

    I tried everything to get my iPhone 3G up to speed. First the double hard reset, the the system restore, then the restore as new device. These all made the iPhone work better for a short while and then it would start to slow down again.
    Finally I went to Settings, General, Home Button Spotlight Search and unchecked all selections except Contacts, Applications, and Music.
    My IPhone works great agin.

    I'm having installation problems on both Solaris 8, (Ultra 480, 1GB RAM, latest recommended patches) and a Windows 2000 Server with SP2 (1GHz P4, 512MB RAM).
    I chose default installation directory and then the install
    complains that Pointbase 4.2 should be installed into the
    same directory etc. Cannot unselect the Sample apps and
    Pointbase options.

    I have an instance previously installed on Windows 2000
    Professional with SP2.(1GHz PIII, 512MB RAM, 5GB space)
    When i start application server 7.0 , then i get the following
    message:

    When you say that you choose the default installation directory and then the installer complained about Pointbase, what platform where you using? Had you already attempted installs in the past or uninstallations that did not complete properly?
    For your second issue, did you happen to change the host name of your machine? Try cranking up the log level (edit server.xml) to see what's causing the instances to fail on startup. Did the application ever start up after install? What things did you do just prior to the server exhibiting this behaviour?

    Whats the full message that are you seeing on your phone's screen, and does your account work on your computer's iTunes for downloading items (e.g. if you select a free app can you 'buy' it) ?

  • Adobe should take responsability of their mistake

    As I can see from the actual forum million of people have
    lots of problems whit the new version of Flash Player, Why Adobe
    doesnt help us? I did call them and ask for help, but there answer
    was DYS (doit your self) you can go in the forum and try to fixit,
    they made all this problems and they should sort this out as soon
    as possible, people are loosing money and time, why don't they do
    anything about it?

    Installing older versions of Flash Player (including the last
    previous version, 9.0.47.0) is not recommended due to security
    vulnerabilities in older versions. Adobe actually did recommend
    downgrading to older versions, but such a recommendation is
    ethically irresponsible.
    The correct solution is a new version of Flash Player with
    the problem corrected, though it's possible that Adobe has been
    unable to find a solution.
