Reg: BIPublisher enhancements validation.
I am validating some HCM ~ BIPublisher integration enhancements for Drop 7 Build 3 and I need some definite documentation on any sample implementation of these enhancements. The enhancements that need to be validated are as follows:
1. Merging of static template with a dynamic content just before printing to decrease the overload, for example if we take the W2 report which has a static instructions page which repeats for each employee followed by the dynamic content, which has information like taxes etc. So by creating only a single reference of the static template and integrating it with each of the employees dynamic content before printing would decrease the overload.
2. A template merged with an XML that will lead to generation of a final PDF output file of size greater than 2GB. Which should then lead to creation of a zip file with all the split output files with size <2GB and an index, this way the report outputs will be grouped together.
Please provide any specific implementations or documentation on these aforementioned enhancements would be very helpful. Bug #: 7143724 ~ for the enhancement numbered as 1. This bug gives links to PDFBookBinder as solution to this, but that doesn't give anything close to a solution to this, as in at least the link given isn't sufficient to implement this.

Reg: DS enhancement code in production

We are now in the production support. I want to change the DS enhanced code which is written in the implementation bcoz of performance reason. What is the procedure to do that and is there any prerequisites to take. No need to code help here.

You just need to change the code in EXIT from development system and then do a transport. The code changes will be directly reflected in production after transport.
You don't need to worry about any delta or anything else as there are no structural changes and new code will start executing from next extraction onward.
Just transport the EXIT FM, no need to transport DS or anything else. If you are doing further structural enhancement then you will have to transport other objects accordingly. But if you are only doing code changes then just transport EXIT.

No tax code doesn't have any validity period
But when we maintain condition record for tax calculation that condition record has validity period which we maintain in FV11

If you are working with TAXINN which is condition record based tax procedure maintenance of Condition record is mandatory
With formula based TAXINJ procedure no need to maintain,

If this is mandatory , then how tax calculated for non material master items?
It all depends what access sequence you have assigned to your tax condition type
Lets take an example for Excise duty which is determined at material level
Ex1 >Condition type for Basic Excise duty is JMOP here we assign access sequence JTAX
Now to maintain condition record for JMOP you will find material,vendor.Plant (all defined in access sequence JTAX)
Ex 2>Now Say service tax condition type JSER (or what ever) which is not dependent on Material (as even Po without material master can have service tax)
So for service tax condition type we assign access sequence as MWST
which is defined only at country level
You can find all these settings under T.code OBYZ
I hope it clarifies your doubt at least to some extent

Reg Missing Field Validation Message
Hello All,
I am trying to use field validation for making a field required when a specific value from a pick list is chosen, i am using this with a custom object.
i have written the Field Validation:
IIf(([<plStatus_of_Search_ITAG>] = 'Completed' AND [<stTechnology_ITAG>] IS NULL),N,[<stTechnology_ITAG>])
and typed some error message and saved the field, signed off and signed in
after that the validation is not getting triggered and when i checked the fiels validation textbox, i found the "Field Validation" condition and "Field Validation Error Message" missing. why is this happening?
as i have saved them.. what might be the problem.

Reg Selectin screen validations in LSMW
Hi All,
I am using LSMW batch input method. In this i have defined some fields as selection-screen fields in the Maintain Source fields step, such that these fiels would appear at the Read Data Step.
Now I have to do validations for these fields which are defined as selection-screen fields.
Can i know where these validations can be done and how?

Rajesh.The validations can be done during the 'Convert Data' step.
The code for validation should be entered in the 'Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules' step. When you are in this mapping screen press CTRL + F7. Now select all the checkboxes in the popup and press enter. Now, you would see the processing-time blocks such as BEGIN_OF_PROCESSING, BEGIN_OF_TRANSACTION etc. You can put all your validations inside the BEGIN_OF_PROCESSING block.

0created by field only. Our MM team has given EBAN-ERNAM FOR PR creator ,

proceed now...awaiting your reply. I had a check in 2lis-02-itm but there is no ernam field. In our bw createdby field
is populating using routines. So how to proceed with above requiremnts.

Check your data source fields and info cube objects.
Understand and use proper info object at bex level,
EBAN - ERNAM as PR Creator
ESSE - ERNAM - SES Creator
EKKO-ERNAM for PO Creator
When you have such requirement then your cube may have those fields.
those might be filled thru data source or thru look ups(mean directly added to cube,filled thyr lookups).
Recheck your data flow and understand it.

Null Validation in Tabular Form in APEX 4.2.2
Hi to all respected Gurus of this Forum!
Recently downloaded APEX 4.2.2. As we know that this version has some improved features and one is the best is i.e. *"Validation on Tabular Form".*
For test purpose I succeeded to apply validation on field of tabular form and I am not allowed to "SUBMIT" data as per Validation Rule.
But now, I want to customize that validation as per below logic.
If required field is null than a message-box should appear with two buttons , as under:
Blank field not allowed. Do you really want to submit? (Buttons should be = YES NO)
If user press "YES" then validation should be false and record should be saved
AND
If user press "NO" then no data should be submitted/inserted as per validation logic.
Please help. Your as usual cooperation is highly appreciated in advance.

SEEBURGER do have separate integration tool called SEEBURGER BIS(Business Integration Server).Check with any of your friends who are working on that.They can help you out for more material.Some times the content tend to change based on the version of BICMD do check that also .I don't think its available on SDN as its SEEBURGER proprietary content.

there are more validations than you think. Anthony Rayner has prepared a nice summary in a [url http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/08/apex-40-enhancements-validating-form.html]blog post.
You see in that post where and how to disable validations, but also, that you may not disable all of them. The only way to avoid all validations would be to implement the report yourself completely.
The good news is, you can overwrite those messages. The following documentation tells you how to:

Remove item-centric validation

Is there a way to remove item-centric validations (http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/08/apex-40-enhancements-validating-form.html) from APEX 4.0, such as the automatic 'hidden' validation created by entering a certain format mask in a DatePicker item?
The reason for this is that I already have a validation for this item, and it also stops some other validations from being executed if the first one fails. Thus, I don't need the automatic validation.

what do you mean with "and it also stops some other validations from being executed if the first one fail"? Is that related to the automatic validation? Because I just had a look in the code, all automatic and manually defined validations are fired.
You have different possibilities to prevent firing the automatic validation for a date picker.
-) Set "Execute Validations" = "No" in your submit button which will skip all the automatic ones, but make sure that you set the "Always Execute" flag in your manual validations.
-) Use the classic date picker which doesn't perform the automatic validation
-) Create your own date picker item type plug-in which doesn't perform the automatic validation

We are trying to make an project where we can make a person register in our data base & after which he/she can search for other user.
The logged in user can modify his/her own data but can view other ppl's data.
We are in a phase of registering the user & that's where we are stuck. The problem is that after the login screen when we hit register (OK- button) the data are not getting entered in the data base.
Can u please help me??

Interactive Report datepicker error

I recently started using jQuery 1.8.3 and jQueryUI 1.9.1 and a user noticed that when clicking on a date in the datepicker of an Interactive Report they get a javascript error:

Error: 'undefined' is null or not an object
appears to be the following line:
var inst = this._getInst(target[0]); is leaving inst undefined...
I'm sure it is where I'm including the UI or something because I can't reproduce the problem on http://apex.oracle.com...
I've found a way to replace the clicking on the calendar icon to use all the latest versions of jQuery and the UI and it works, but I think I should really try to fix it a different way (incase there is somewhere else I haven't found yet)...

there are more validations than you think. Anthony Rayner has prepared a nice summary in a [url http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/08/apex-40-enhancements-validating-form.html]blog post.
You see in that post where and how to disable validations, but also, that you may not disable all of them. The only way to avoid all validations would be to implement the report yourself completely.
The good news is, you can overwrite those messages. The following documentation tells you how to:
