Regarding Coherence Network Performance test?

Hi,
We have performed the datagram tests for two servers that we have using the coherence datagram test scripts.
We have shared the results that we got after a run of 60 – 65 seconds each for the unidirectional and bidirectional tests.
Please refer to
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atn1ma-myp6ndEc0THBKRTFDSnBaN0NqV1o1Ym1jRnc#gid=0
for the results. But we want to understand from these results if this performance is under the agreeable range, for which we don’t have any absolute references with us.
Can someone suggest if this network performance is good enough or if there are any problems based on these statistics?
Quick help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

But what I was looking for was some standards to compare against to decide if these statistics indicate good network performance.
Any suggestions?

  • IOMeter or NAS Perf Tester (network performance benchmarks) for Mac?

When I was on a PC-only home network, there were many network monitoring/testing tools like IOMeter And Intel NAS Perf tester. But I've been unable to find a network testing tool for the Mac. I'm interested in testing file creation/read/write speeds to/from my NAS.
Does anyone know of something for the Mac?
Also, I'm not afraid of using terminal, so if there's any built-in UNIX tools, or ones that are open source and can be compiled on OS X 10.6, I'm ok with that too.
    Thanks.

I found something called HELIOS Lan Test. It seems to do the kinds of create/read/write testing I can use to benchmark my ReadyNAS NV+ file share protocols (CIFS, AFP, NETBIOS) to see which one is faster in my setup.
I already have iStat Menus, and I can monitor performance with it in a rough sense (ie. watch the display when I'm copying a large file), but the HELIOS Lan Test is a much better repeaatble test for ongoing analysis.

  • Performance testing of servlets / beans / jsp ?

Hi. I'd like to performance test my applications, anyone have a clue on what software to use?
I use Fort for Java CE 3 as the IDE and TomCat 3.23 as the servlet / jsp container.
Hopefully there are some opensource tools to use for this?
    Regards,
    Chris

You can precompile JSP's, this removes the small hickup when they are requested the first time (making the server translate and compile them). Check the documentation of your specific web/application server on how to do this.
    Otherwise:
    - buy better hardware
    - use a better application server
    - make sure your network is properly configured (so packets don't get routed around the network four times before they reach their destination for example)
    - make sure your program logic doesn't create bottlenecks such as
unnecessary HTTP requests, redundant loops, etc.
    - optimize your database access, use connection pooling
    - optimize your database queries. Create indexes, make sure the SQL queries themselves aren't doing unnecessary trips around the database, etc.

  • Show-stopper Connecting web performance test to remote DB2 server as data source

    Hi All,
We are running TFS2010 on VS2010 Ultimate on 2003 server SP-2 with IE 8 for web applications.
We are working on conducting load tests in web-service. Previously we did that using data source from MS SQL to connect our web performance tests. Now we have a new requirement: changing our
data source from MS SQL server to DB2 for good. The DB2 server is in a separate network. I am struggling how I can connect to the DB2 server. For the beginner the firewall setup is being taken care of with a separate initative. So I am a bit startled on how
to connect to DB2 server from Visual Studio. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Please let me know how we can accomplish this goal. Appreciate a lot.

    Hi Riz,
Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.
Actually the real issue in this thread is related to the DB2.
Since it is the third party software, sorry for that it is really out of support range of VS testing forum.
But you could post this issue to the following forum, there you would get better support for it.

  • X6450 network performance issue

We are seeing a network performance issue using the Blade 6000 chassis with two (10x 1 Gbps Ethernet) NEM modules. The x6450 blades in the chassis have Solaris 10 u7 installed. In our tests, we used two blades in the following manner: each blade had only one network interface connected (and plumbed in the OS level) and each blade was connected to a different NEM. Both blades were connected to the same gigabit switch. There were two other test systems (x2270-s) also connected to the same switch. We ran the following tests:
both the application client and server are on the same blade (i.e. application is using the loopback network interface): n operations/second (the number here is irrelevant, only the relation to other test numbers are relevant)
application client on first blade, server on second blade: 0.77 x n operations / second (i.e. 23% degradation)
    application client on blade, server on x2270: 0.77 x n operations /second (i.e. 23% degradation)
    application client on x2270, server on blade: 0.75 x n operations /second (i.e. 25% degradation)
We ran similar tests with the x2270. We did not see any difference between running the test on the loopback interface vs. running the test between two x2270-s.
Is there a known issue with these network modules or their drivers?

Just use a high interval and you see how much throughput you have in that time
    example: dlstat vnet1 120

  • [Help] How you guys do the performance test for Hyperion?

    Dear All,
Currently, we are building the performance test scripts by using the QALoad. We have identified the following areas for the test.
    * Planning Data Form
    * Financial Report
    * SmartView
However, we hit a number of question.
For Financial Report, when the recorded scripts were playback, we cannot see any pdf files generated under folder $BIPLUS_HOME/temp/.
For SmartView, the recorded scripts just don't work after the Hyperion Services were restarted.
Does anyone have any experience on doing performance test for Hyperion, especially using QALoad? Is there any technical reference out there we can read?
    Regards,
    Martin

When we playback the QALoad script for Financial Report, we got the following error response!
As you know, when opening an Finacial Report, it will auto login the Datasource. There is no need to provide the username/password. We are wondering if this is related to our problem or not. Please kindly help. We have been spending days/weeks to record the testing scripts.
    Does anyone has any idea?

  • DMVPN - improve network performance

    Hi All,
We have a dual hub dual dmvpn cloud network running EIGRP or about 50 and 100 sites in the coming future.
I have configured it in a way for 25 spokes to designate hub1 as primary and the other 25 spokes to designate hub2 as its primary link.
    To load balance.
I need some help on sugguestion or recommendations on how to improve its network performance.
This is to anticipate queries by customer running systems&apps complaining why is the link too slow after implementing dmvpn
Is there any parameters that can be fine tuned to help increase its performance?
    Please advise.
    Thanks

Hello, I know this thread is old but it is exactly relevant to what i have now. We have implemented the dual hub dual dmvpn solution over the last year on our remote sites. The head ends are 7200s w/C7200P-ADVSECURITYK9-M, Version 12.4(24)T3 and the remotes are 1700s (slowly being replaced with 1800s) and 1800 series routers. there are about 60 sites, most of them riding over Comcast cable (preferred) or Verizon DSL. Many of our sites have both, where comcast is primary and DSL is secondary, so on these sites there are 4 tunnels. Our connections are getting very slow. For instance, at one site they have paid for 50mb cable connection, which, when plugged directly into the cable modem, reaches those speeds. When going through the tunnel back to our core, where we have mutiple GB ISP connections out to the internet, they are getting 2mb download speeds.  Actually, they don't even have to be going out to the internet, just hitting our internal servers in the core is slow for them. We started testing multiple sites and it seems all of them are getting very slow compared to the service they have. In looking at the troubleshooting options available you listed above, I am very curious about making sure none of the devices are oversubscribed. Since we have no spoke to spoke connections I am assuming that this troublshooting should be done on the 7200s. What commands would be good to run to check for oversubscription on the 7200s regarding CPU and crypto accelerator? Also, when you mention QoS, where does this get applied? I am familar with manual QoS config for voice and video, but how does it relate to VPN? Is there anything else i can look at/modify that will help alleviate the slowness of these tunnels? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thank you,
    Noel

  • Can Web Performance Test work on AJAX or Javascript Project which will show only one URL for all the pages?

    Hi there,
I'm working on testing a AJAX and JavaScript Project which has several pages but all in the same URL. I need to test some attribute on the page or parameter past by AJAX or Javascript. Can Web Performance Test work to get what I want?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    Thank you for your post.
Web performance test is used to test if a server responses correctly and the response is consistent with what we expected. And we test the response speed, the stability and scalability.
The Web Performance Test Recorder records both AJAX requests and requests that were submitted from JavaScript, but
web test does not execute JavaScript. I am afraid that you can’t use web test to test parameter past by AJAX or JavaScript.
    Please see:
    Web Performance Test Engine Overview
About JavaScript and ActiveX Controls in Web Performance Tests
From the first link, “Client-side scripting that sets parameter values or results in additional HTTP requests, such as AJAX, does affect the load on the server and might require you to manually modify the Web Performance Test to simulate the scripting.”
If you want to execute the function typically performed by script in web test, you need to accomplish it in coded web performance test or a web performance test plugin. Please see:
How to: Create a Coded Web Performance Test
How to: Create a Web Performance Test Plug-In
I am not sure what the ‘some attribute on the page’ is. If you mean that you want to test those controls on the page, you can do coded UI test, which can test that the user interface for an application functions correctly. The coded UI test performs actions
on the user interface controls for an application and verifies that the correct controls are displayed with the correct values. You can refer to this article for detailed information about code UI test:
Verifying Code by Using Coded User Interface Tests

  • HT3204 When doing a "Network Connectivity Test" on my PC, as to iStore Connectivity, it says "Secure Link to iTunes Store failed". And when trying to "authorize" my computer to sync ringtones I downloaded to my PC, I keep getting an errot message.

When doing a "Network Connectivity Test" on my PC, while in iTunes, it tells me that "Secure Link to iTunes Store Failed", yet I'm connected to the internet.  I was unable to "authorize" my PC with an error message, as well, giving me the code (-3212), saying I was not connected to the internet, yet I am.  I can open browser after browser, and navigate just fine.  In going through the iTunes Help menu, I am running the tests offered in the drop-downs, but I keep getting the afore-mentioned errors.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Using Test Setting file to run web performance tests in different environments

    Hello,
I have a set of web performance tests that I want to be able to run in different environments.
Currently I have csv file containing the url of the load balancer of the particular environment I want to run the load test containing the web performance tests in, and to run it in a different environment I just edit this csv file.
Is it possible to use the test settings file to point the web performance tests at a particular environment?
I am using VSTS 2012 Ultimate.
    Thanks

Instead of using the testsettings I suggest using the "Parameterize web servers" command (found via context menu on the web test, or via one of the icons). The left hand column then suggests context parameter names for the parameterised web server
URLs. It should be possible to use data source entries instead. You may need to wrap the data source accesses in doubled curly braces if editing via the "Parameterize web servers" window.
    Regards
    Adrian

  • ActiveX Control recording but not playing back in a VS 2012 Web Performance Test

I am testing an application that loads an Active X control for entering some login information. While recording, this control works fine and I am able to enter information and it is recorded. However on playback in the playback window it has the error "An
add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet Options for potential conflicts."
    Window 7 OS 64 bit
IE 8 recorded on 32 bit version
I see no obvious security conflicts. This runs fine when navigating through manually and recording. It is only during playback where this error occurs.

    Hi IndyJason,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
As you said that you could not playback the Active X control successfully in web performance test. I know that the ActiveX controls in your Web application will fall into three categories, depending on how they work at the HTTP level.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404678%28v=vs.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
I found that this confusion may be come from the browser preview in the Web test result viewer. The Web Performance Test Results Viewer does not allow script or ActiveX controls to run, because the Web performance test engine does not run the, and for security
    reasons.

    Thanks for Adrian's help.
    Hi Balaji,
Based on your issue, I agree with Adrian's suggestion. Therefore, I suggest you can try Adrian's suggestion to refer the link of Cybermaxs' reply check your issue.
In addition, I suggest you can use fiddler to check the header definition.
