Regarding dynamc assignment of dates in a variant

hi,
i know how to give dynamic values to the dates in a variant
but when the same thng i am trying in ECC 5.0 then a diiferent screen is coming and while assigning dynamic values to the dates, whenever i am giving a date less than the system date its always saying
<b>lower limit is greater than upper limit</b>
even when in the date from i am giving ( system date - 60 ) and in date to i am giving ( system date + 45 )
its saying lower limit is greater than upper limit.
Can anybody help me in this issue
if anyone can try it out in ECC 5.0 and send me the screen shots that will be a great help

Hi Ashish,
Following are the steps :
1. While saving the variant, Goto the Selection Variable column in the table and specify the value as 'D' after selecting from the F4 Help given for the column.
2. Then in the last column 'Name of Variable' , click on the F4 Help provided.
3. In the given options select the option Current Date - xxx, current date + yyy.
4. When u double click on the option it asks for the values of xxx and yyy.
5. Give values say xxx = 3 and yyy = 4.This will display the current date - 3 days and current date + 4 days as the select-option parameters.
6. Save the variant.

when i try to create a GL ACCOUNT FOR this company using (FS00) i am getting the following error.
Company code ZG01 is not assigned to a fiELD status variant.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION I HAVE CREATED COA and assign the same to the company ZG01.
Please suggest....
also suggest how to i transport GL Accounts used by other companys of my system to my newly created company code : zg01.
so that i can save creation of GL ACCOUNT.

You have to maintain field status variant and assign it to your company code. This is required for GL master data.
1. Define Field status variant in SPRO>Financial Acctg>Financial Acctg Global Settings>Document>Line Item>Controls>Define Field status variant. You create the field status variant and the field status group.
2. Assign the Field Status group to your company code SPRO>Financial Acctg>Financial Acctg Global Settings>Document>Line Item>Controls>Assign Company Code to Field Status Variants
Once you have defined this you will be able to assign field status group to your GL master data.
The use of Field Status Group is to determine the required/displayed/optional fields during posting transactions.

Re-assign automation data

Would anybody know a quick way of re-assigning automation data, for instance from volume information to filter up and down?

Nothing personal meant here, on the contrary, thanks are always much appreciated. And though it is in the manual, that doesn't mean you will find it easily (especially if you use the hard copy only).
BTW, RTMMH is my polite alternative to RTFM.

How Can I find the creation date of querries which I have done in query designer. Is there any Infoobject keeping track of this data (SAP DEFINED). Pls post msg as soon as possible.

In Bex analizer, open the query in modify mode, than choose properties and you will find creation date.

Is it possible is to assign one data source to multiple data targets in BI? Not like in BW 3.X ; one data source can assign only one Info source. I am bit confused about it, let me know about this ?

Okay, I must have misunderstood your message, I was thinking BI 7 and data targets .. like cubes and DSO's.
In 3.x, assign your datasource to a single infosource. Then assign that infosource to multiple data targets by creating update rules and assigning your infosource to each/all of them.
In this way, you shouldn't need multiple infosources per datasource unless you have a special situation that calls for it.

Activating dynamic date calculation in variant

Per the link below, I used to be able to activate "dynamic date calculation" in variant.

Our system has been upgraded to 6.0 and now we do not the same variant attribues screen where I can activate the "D" variable. It brings me to program/screen SA38/281.
Any suggestion how I may activate the "D" dynamic date calculation variable in a variant?

Actually I meant the relevant code of your custom report, you just provided me with the info of the standard variant screen.
You can go to SE38, enter your custom report name, display the code, and paste the definition of that parameter. (It would be something like
PARAMETERS: P_DATEHG TYPE XXX_TYPE.
What I am interested in is to know which data type is being used, since this functionaliy will only apply to date type fields. So, bottom line: this field must definitely be a date, which makes me think that either something has changed in the custom report or after the upgrade to ECC 6.0 this data type might have changed as well.

Dynamic Date calculation in Variants

Dear SAP Guru's,
I am creating variant for Planning Run by maintaining the . I n this, I want to select the horizon as from 1st day of next month and to date as last day of next month. But I am not finding the Last day os next Month in the F4 list.
Please any one explain me the way of creating the "Last day of Next month".
The available list is like below..
Current Date
Current date +/- ??? days
current date +/- ??? work days
First day of current month
nth working day of current month
First day of next month
First day of previous month
Last day of previous month
Last Day of the Current Month
How can I create, one more like 'Last day of Next month'?

In the dynamic date period selection options there is also an option for " (Beginning of mth-xx months, end of mth+yy months)" You can double-click on this line and enter in a value for xx and yy. If you enter "1" in for the yy value, then the end of the range should be the end of the next calendar month.

I ran into the same problem. You can't dynamically switch DataSources for a chart, however, you can re-assign a DataSource to a different query.
I have a chart assigned to DS_1:
On startup, I need to check a flag, and use a different query based on the value of the flag.
Since I can't dynamically switch the DataSource for the chart, I simply switch the query that feeds the DataSource like this:

First of all, you should be sure that there is such a data type within the variant; otherwise, you will run into errors.
I recommend you to create the cluster and create a type definition from it. Then drop an array shell from the array palette and drop the cluster type into that array.
Connect that constant to the data type input of the Variant To Data function.

In SQL*Plus, you can do this:

;"GROUP BY summary" means you'll get one output row for each distinct value of summary. There's no need to SELECT DISTINCT since the GROUP BY is already making sure the rows are distinct.
There are no DATE bind variables in SQL*Plus, so you have to use a VARCHAR2.
If you do something similar in PL/SQL, then you can use a DATE variable. Make sure you don't call TO_DATE on something that's already a DATE.

Is it possible to convert LabView data into OLE variant?

Hi. I'm using Activex Data Objects (ADO) to communicate with MySQL. Some ActiveX methods give OLE variant output, with "Variant Type" like "VT_ARRAY|VT_UI1", "VT_UI1" or "VT_BSTR". With some deduction and trial and error is relatively simple to extract data from this OLE variants and convert them to LabView data types. The problem is when I try to input variant data to some ActiveX methods, it almost always give me errors, I suppose because it expects the same type of the outputs, this is: OLE variants. Now, the question is: ¿Is there any way to convert LabView data into OLE variant data? ¿How?
I've been searching and found a lot of posts about problems when passing variant data into ActiveX, saying that sometimes SAFEARRAYs are needed, sometimes saying that there were some bugs in LV6, giving some workarounds to this bug and saying that it is fixed in LV7.1, but the supposed workarounds don't work and the bug is still present in LV7.1, if it is really a bug.
I think that if I could put LV data into OLE variant shape I may find an answer and solution to this matter.

Below I describe how to handle OLE Variants, but I wanted to mention that LabVIEW does have a Database Connectivity toolkit (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/6429) that has already created a set of VIs for ADO. You might check that out first.
However, handling OLE Variants in LabVIEW is automatic. LabVIEW itself has a variant datatype. When you use the ActiveX property or invoke nodes and one of the parameters is an OLE Variant, it is automatically converted to a LV Variant. You can then use the LV Variant VIs (such as "Variant to Data" and "To Variant").

Date changes for variant in se38

Hi Experts,
Can you please share me the reasons how release dates changes in variant while downloading CSV file for PO in se38.
In our system automatically release ddates has changed to past in the varainat in se38.
Will tehre be any effect while downloading CSV files for PO? What might be reasons for dates changes? And how can system pick the dates abnormally??

Appreciate for the response.
Actually our system is POs which cretaed in SAP picks up automatically through programs running on daily basis. There is a middleware connector which picks this POs in CSV format and send to the vendor.
If some times program fails to pick them, we will manually download CSV file and transmit manually through middle ware connector. We use se38 for this purpose.
We do this activity regularly. But now we are facing a problem like release dates got updated in this variant which are in Past ( 6months) back dates got updated and the POs relased on that dates transfreed to vendor. (There is a check with release date in programming).
Now my questions are:
1) How those past dates got updated?
2) Is there any relation ship with manually downloading to update these dates?

I'm trying to load data to variant while creating the variant. But in cji5 transaction one of my required screen field is more than 8 chars. I thnk bcoz of this I'm not able to submit the report with this created variant. My code is
      i_rsparams-kind    = 'P'.
      i_rsparams-selname = 'D0700_USEDB'.
      i_rsparams-low     = 'X'.
      APPEND i_rsparams.
Here 'D0700_USEDB' is more than 8 chrs
