Regarding obsolete FM

Hi,
I am doing a Migration work from 4.5B to ECC6.0. I have come across a Function Module DB6_REORGCHK_CALL which is not available in the new version. The FM does the work of throwing some exceptions when connecting to the DB2 database.
The Code goes as below :-
CALL FUNCTION 'DB6_REORGCHK_CALL'
      importing
           err_line                       = errline
       EXCEPTIONS
            REORGCHK_CALL_F_ON_CONNECT     = 01
            REORGCHK_CALL_F_DB_ERROR       = 02
            REORGCHK_CALL_F_INTERNAL_ERROR = 03.
  IF SY-SUBRC = 1.
    MESSAGE xxx
  ELSEIF SY-SUBRC = 2.
    MESSAGE xxx.
  ELSEIF SY-SUBRC = 3.
    MESSAGE xxx.
Kindly suggest as to which new FM can be used in its place?
Regards,
Anoop

Hi,
run this code..it is just a file open dialog box, generally used to browse and load filename from local pc
tables rlgrap.
data: it_tab type filetable,
gd_subrc type i.
selection-screen begin of block m with frame.
select-options so_fpath for rlgrap-filename.
selection-screen end of block m.
at selection-screen on value-request for so_fpath-low.
REFRESH: it_tab.
CALL METHOD CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
EXPORTING
WINDOW_TITLE = 'Select File'
DEFAULT_FILENAME = '.'
MULTISELECTION = 'X'
CHANGING
FILE_TABLE = it_tab
RC = gd_subrc.
loop at it_tab into so_fpath-low.
so_fpath-sign = 'I'.
so_fpath-option = 'EQ'.
append so_fpath.
endloop.
in selection screen put the cursor on the field and press F4.the dialog box you see, is created by this method "FILE_OPEN_DIALOG".

Omkar.

  • Regarding Obsolete Function Modules

    Hi all,
can anybody tell me the alternative ECC6.0 function modules of the following Obsolete function modules
    DOWNLOAD
    UPLOAD
    WS_DOWNLOAD
    WS_UPLOAD
    WS_FILENAME_GET
    WS_QUERY
    POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_STEP
    POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_WITH_MESSAGE

here are replacement function modules for the obsolete ones.
award points in case u feel this useful
    1. Obsolete Function Module: WS_UPLOAD.
          Replacement FM: GUI_UPLOAD.
    Note:
      1. If the FM ‘WS_UPLOAD' has file type as ASC, then we can use same file
        type ASC for GUI_UPLOAD also.
    2. But if the FM 'WS_UPLOAD' has file type as DAT, we can not use DAT for
'GUI_UPLOAD' as it will give short dump.
In this case we need use file type as ASC
          and
          HAS_FIELD_SEPARATOR = ‘X’.
    3. If the file name or file type of ws_upload have variables or constants
Instead of hard coding, then don’t use hard code values for gui_upload.
    3. The data type of file name always should be of character type for gui_upload
The file type should be of Type Character and length 10.
      4. Always uncomment the exceptions for gui_upload.
      5. And also uncomment the code inside IF SY-SUBRC <> 0. and ENDIF after
gui_upload if the customer has not handled any exception in 46c version.
If there is any code inside IF SY-SUBRC <> 0 and ENDIF for ws_upload in 46c
version, Please use the same code in ECC also after gui_upload.

  • Regarding Obsolete function module

    hi guys,
Can the Addon function module be obsolete?
I found the function module attributes having 'unreleased' attribute without any date.
if obsolete, any action is necessary. Please confirm
    Thanks
    Priyan

Obsolete does not equal "unreleased"... if you do an F1 on the "Not released" text in a function module attributes you can see a description of "Type of Function Module Release" ... marking the function module as obsolete is something that happens later in its lifecyle... you will find on the PF-STATUS for the function module the following options (under Function Module > Release):
    Release
    Internal Release
    Cancel Release
    Object Obsolete

  • Regarding Obsolete table

    hi guys,
we are going for upgrade from 46C to ECC. we plan to change the SADR table to ADRC inside the addon program.
Customer Created addon program using Standard include where SADR table is used. Now how to modify this program. we cant edit standard include right.
Do we need to find the simmilar standard program in ECC and modify addon or is there any other way to solve this problem.
    thanks

    Hello guys,
I know modification in standard include for changing SADR to ADRC is not Correct way for this problem.
Usually how people solve this problem. Any idea on this would be appreciated.
    thanks

  • Definition/Explanation for "obsolete" (for function modules) / unicode?

    Hi,
I did not find any definition from SAP regarding obsolete function modules, what does SAP mean with obsolete in this context? Is this only relevant for customers which are also switching to unicode enabled systems? Do I have to replace this fm's when we are not switching to unicode during the upgrade?
    Thanks&regards, Dietmar Unger

Edited by: Dietmar Unger on Mar 10, 2008 4:03 PM

    Hello Dietmar,
my understanding of obsolete function modules is, that they
    - are not supported by SAP any longer
    - no new functionality will be implemented
    - somtimes doesn't work (I've used a function module, that becomes obsolete with a hot package upgrade, which causes a dump, to inform the user of this fm, that it has become obsolete)
We're in an upgrade from 4.6B to ECC6.0 and we have identified some function modules, marked as obsolete. Until know we have not decided, how to proceed with them, but I think, we will replace them by newer ones (even, if it's not mandatory to replace them, when it works, as expected).
    Best regards
    Stephan

  • Keynote storing obsolete format data, and possible connection to crashes

An “Ah ha!” moment with Keynote leading to a question about how it stores information regarding themes and fonts, and whether this is a bug in Keynote and/or if there is something that end users can do as a work-around. These points came to my attention today when I exported from Keynote to PowerPoint to share a (very inferior ) version of my presentation with a colleague. Note that the Keynote file I exported from has not exhibited any problems related to error messages or crashes.
    (1) Prior to making the export, I changed all slides to Keynote’s standard out-of-the-box “Gradient” theme since I had used Keynote Theme Park animated “Global Cool” theme (www.keynotethemepark.com). However, even though no slide any longer contained the KTP theme, in doing the export Keynote created a media folder of movies that contained the animated KTP theme. So Keynote is apparently storing obsolete file data and not cleaning up its house after the file is changed.
    (2) Prior to making the export, I changed all slides to use only fonts that I knew to be on my colleague’s PC. However, when I looked under the “Contents” tab of the resulting Powerpoint file’s “Properties” info, I discovered that Powerpoint was listing all the fonts that had been in the original Keynote file but that I had long since changed to Arial and Arial Narrow. Checking through the Powerpoint file slide by slide confirmed that the original fonts do not appear. Again, it appears that Keynote is storing obsolete information.
MY QUESTION: I am wondering if what I discovered today about Keynote’s “elephant memory” is indicating a bug of some sort, and if so, is there a reasonable work-around for end users that will enable us to avoid having files bloated with obsolete data.
Also, I am wondering if this storing of obsolete file data could be related to the ”missing file” error reports and Keynote crashes that others have noted in this forum and that I addressed in my previous post. The solution I had discovered was a file level work-around, but the question remained as to what had brought it on.
BTW, this is with Keynote 3.0.0 because I reinstalled Keynote recently thinking that this procedure might resolve the crashing problem described in my previous post to this forum; the reinstall didn’t, but the problem was solved at a file level in the manner described in my previous post. Now that I finally have time tonight to upgrade again to Keynote 3.02, when I run Software Update expecting to see the Keynote 3.02 upgrade listed, it’s not there. Hmmmmm.… I know I can get it from Apple’s download site but since the site lists two downloads (3.0.1v2 and 3.0.2), I thought it’d be better to let software update manage this process. Now I’m not so sure.

Thanks, dook and Kyn. Not only does that seem to resolve the issues, but deleting unused master slides dramatically drops the size of the exported presentation (e.g. to 20%).
I wish the Apple Keynote team would provide a way to more intelligently delete unused themes so as to make it easier to email presentations. It seems to me that theere should be a setting available in the export process where one could do this. The only way I could see to do it was one master slide at a time. Please tell me if I am missing something here.
I also wish we could export just a range of slides, e.g. from # to #, or slides selected in the Navigator/sorter/organizer.

  • I have obsolete computers attached to my appleid when I try to add the new computers to my itunes store and purchases to keep all data updated and together....and not have to repurchase.  I had a fire...thus, old computers are gone and I cannot unauthoriz

I have obsolete computers and devices attached to my appleid.  I cannot deauthorize them as they are gone!!!  (Had a fire and had to replace all tech systems)  Because I spent alot of monies on my purchases, it would be nice to be able to combine all these items and not have to repurchase them.  How can I update the current number of computers and correct ipods, ipads and iphones together; and get rid of all old computers and ipods, iphones that are authorized under the appleid I have always used.  I have asked this question before, but received no support or answers.  I do have icloud and mobileme, but cant sychonize them either.
I am also seriously considering purchasing a mac, and no longer using the windows pc\s as too many tech difficulties arise when I tackle complicated projects regarding DVD and moving making.  However, I still require pc software for my work.  Will my current backup network system convert easily?  Can it be converted?  Will I require a tech and if so, how much will this cost?  I have recently invested a large sum into creating a network and backup system that has yet to be working as it should.  Unfortuneately it has left me with very little left to try to convert to the mac systems entirely.  Please answer my questions in a language that I can understand.....as this problem is affecting my household, organization and office techniques.  Would like to take care of this problem once and for all.  Mac seems to work with my creative desires much better.  Will await your response.....Thank you.

If you no longer have the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store,  deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

  • ECC 6.0 Upgrade from R/3 4.6B - Obsolete ABAP Language

    Hello all,
I am part of a team that is performing an upgrade to ECC 6.0 from R/3 4.6B. I was wondering if all of the reports, FM, etc. that were developed under "old" ABAP will have to be modified in order to comply with the  <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5ac31178-0701-0010-469a-b4d7fa2721ca">Obsolete ABAP Language Constructs</a>.
If the code still works after the upgrade is it necessary to perform all these modifications?
Thank you very much in advance,
    Best Regards,
    Ezequiel

I would say that is is not necessary.  From the second paragraph of your link:
"Although you are generally not forced to modify your existing programs to represent these changes, it would be a very good practice to implement these rules and constructs with any new code development and coding samples."

This REJECT statement is Obsolete . Is there any alternative for this ?
If so, please reply at the earliest as it is very Urgent.
    Regards,

    Hi Suma,
The REJECT statement was specially developed for leaving GET event blocks. Unlike CHECK and EXIT, REJECT always refers to the current GET event block. If CHECK and EXIT occur in a loop, they refer to the loop, and in a subroutine, they always refer to the subroutine. The REJECT statement, on the other hand, allows you to exit a GET event block directly from a loop or a called subroutine.
    The statement
    REJECT [dbtab].
always terminates the processing of the current line of the node of the logical database. Without the optional dbtabspecification, the logical database automatically reads the next line of the same node, and the next GET event at the same hierarchy level is triggered. If you use the optional dbtab specification, the logical database reads the next line of the node dbtab. The node dbtab  must occur above the current node in the logical database hierarchy.
    Example
The following executable program is connected to the logical database F1S.
    REPORT EVENT_DEMO.
    NODES: SPFLI, SFLIGHT, SBOOK.
    GET SFLIGHT.
      SKIP.
      WRITE: / 'Carrid:', SFLIGHT-CARRID,
               'Connid:', SFLIGHT-CONNID,
               'Fldate:', SFLIGHT-FLDATE.
      ULINE.
    GET SBOOK.
      PERFORM SUB.
    FORM SUB.
      WRITE: / 'Bookid:', SBOOK-BOOKID.
      REJECT 'SFLIGHT'.
    ENDFORM.
This program reads and displays only the first booking for each flight, since the logical database reads the next line of SFLIGHT after the REJECT statement.

    Use check statement.
    Demo is as follows -
    constants: c_1(1) type c value '1' .
    Start-of-selection.
    get pernr.
    Read Infotype 0
    rp-provide-from-last p0000 space pn-begda pn-endda.
check pnp-sw-found eq c_1. "it will check if record is there,if not it will go to next pernr

  • Warning "Time of Calculation 'Before Aggregation' is obsolete" in BI 7.0

    Hi Friends,
We have recently upgraded our BW system from BW 3.1 to BI 7.0. While executing one of the query in BI 7.0 i am getting the Warning Message "Time of Calculation 'Before Aggregation' is obsolete". I can run the query by ignoring the message and get the results. But I am not getting the correct result for some of the calculated key figures which has setting for Time of calculation as "Before Aggregation".
After doing some research i found that before aggregation is not allowed in BI 7.0. We are using queries created in 3.x environment. There is some work around which talks about creating new calculated key figure with after aggregation setting and all. But in my case it not feasible as there are so many queries based on those calculated key figures.
Does any one had the similar situation? Is there any other way to correct this problem?
I would appreciate your help in this regards.
    Thanks,
    Manmit

    Hi
    Try SAP notes 935903.
    Symptom
Calculated Key Figures "Existance Indicator" with aggregation behaviour "Before Aggregation" will get now with NW 2004s warning popup "Time of calculation 'Before Aggregation' is obsolete" during execution.
    this may be helpful.

  • (internal) Tables obsolete as parameter in function modules,

    Hi
As you probably can see by the question, my ABAP Knowledge isn't exactly overwhelming !
    <i>anyway:</i>
I'm trying to create a function module in NW2004s, This functionmodule should take an internal table, based on a structure as (import) parameter.
In the earlier version, I've done this by defining it under the TAB 'Tables' in the function builder - But know its telling me that "<i>Tables Parameters are obsolete</i>", and that I should define it under "Changing" instead.
I have tried that, but I'm only allowed to pass a single line, and if I try to do a Loop, in the function module, it tells me that ity isn't created as an internal table.
So please - what is the "best practice" here ?
    Regards

    Hi All,
I followed Steps 1 and 2 but when I use the following select statement I get a dump with the error enclosed.
Step1. Created a structure ZDFKKCOHI which is a replica of DFKKCOHI.
Step2. Created a table type ZDFKKCOHITABLE with line type as ZDFKKCOHI.
Step3. In my function module I have a changing parameter ZDFKKCOHIPARAM of type ZDFKKCOHITABLE.
Step 4. When I use the following select clause I am getting a dump.
DATA: wa_zdfkkcohi LIKE LINE OF zdfkkcohiparam.
      SELECT *
      FROM dfkkcohi
INTO  CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE zdfkkcohiparam
      WHERE cotyp EQ zcotyp
      AND gpart EQ zgpart
      AND corr_status EQ zcorr_status.
      LOOP AT zdfkkcohiparam INTO wa_zdfkkcohi.
    *Move IT_ZDFKKCOHI to ZDFKKCOHIOUT.
    *Append ZDFKKCOHIOUT.
    *Clear IT_ZDFKKCOHI.
      ENDLOOP.
    What could be wrong?
Thanks for all your help in advance.

  • I need a new Macbook but -.I need advice regarding the new fixed configurations

I have a MacBook from 2007 and it probably needs replacing as I'm starting to see problems, little hints that any day it might completely stop working.  I was ready to buy a new computer but after reading about the new MacBook Pros, it seems like Apple has forgotten its roots.
Let's say you get 8 GB of RAM which is probably enough for my purposes( but I'm still not sure, I might get 16 though its very expensive) and there is a problem with the RAM.  Do you really have to replace the entire logic board and what are we talking in terms of parts and labor assuming you are out of warranty?  This happened to my current Macbook and it was very cheap because I was able to snap new chips in but everything is soldered  on the new Macbooks and I don't want to buy a computer that I might be throwing away in 2 years.
The same questrion applies in regard to the CPU.  If it fails, is this going to be a huge repair bill?
Another major concern regards complaints from dissapointed customers who are unhappy with the glare of the screen.  As I have eye problems, this could be a big issue for me.
Finally, but less of a problem, Its disappointing that you need to purchase an ethernet adaptor and have to buy an external CD/DVD drive. People look at me like I'm crazy when I talk about CD drives, but I listen to a lot of classical music which you cannot get on the net, and, even if you can, it is of low quality.  You have to go to a store like Amoeba to find the CD.   Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying and these little things add up.
I'm starting to think I may have to take a look at PC's,  something, I never thought I'd do again.

I'd recommend 8 GB RAM, based upon all the information available today it should be sufficient for a very long time. OS X "Mavericks" uses system resources extremely efficiently and the MBP's flash memory goes a long way toward masking a paucity of RAM. Apple claimed that Mavericks' new memory compression algorithm results in an effective increase of 50% more memory than what is actually installed, a claim that I have empirically determined to be accurate, perhaps a bit conservative. In other words 8 GB memory will perform as if 12 GB were actually installed, if not for OS X's memory compression algorithm. Even 4 GB is sufficient for Mavericks whereas it was barely adequate for Mountain Lion.
If you were to ask an iPad or iPhone owner how much memory it has, and if they actually understood what you were asking, most would not know, or care. Nor should they. Such is the future of the Mac product line.
The same questrion applies in regard to the CPU.  If it fails, is this going to be a huge repair bill?
It certainly will. Fortunately I have never heard of a single case in which a Mac's CPU has failed.
Another major concern regards complaints from dissapointed customers who are unhappy with the glare of the screen.
All you can do is try it for yourself. Matte screens have disadvantages too. If you don't like your MBP, return it for a full refund, no questions asked. You have 14 days to decide.
Classical music used to been a challenge to find on iTunes, but Apple has been getting better. You can still buy an external CD drive to import your music; they're not terribly expensive.
Any computer design is a study in compromises and an optical drive simply isn't worth the tradeoffs. People howled about Apple's decision to eliminate floppy disk drives too, even as they were ridiculed for originally promoting the 3 1/2" floppy disk format. What Apple creates, Apple destroys, lest someone else do it for them.
In any event optical discs are antiquated and obsolete, so get used to the idea.
I'm starting to think I may have to take a look at PC's,  something, I never thought I'd do again.
Choice is good. Knock yourself out.
