Regarding Repository Consistancy Check

Hi All,
Its very urgent that i have ODI 10.1.3.5 version right now but i am planning to upgrade to 11g. Do i need to Upgrade my ODI to 10.1.3.6 for running RCC or can i directly run RCC on ODI 10.1.3.5.

I think, its recommended to be on ODI 10.1.3.6 to have optimal results.

I have a problem with the RCC.
Java Version : j2re1.4.2_19.
Path(includes) : C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_19\bin.
JDBC Oracle Driver: ojdbc14.jar
Config Properties: OK, no problem; connection successful.
Repository DB: Oracle 10g
Repository DB OS: Sun Solaris 9 or Windows 2003 Server (exactly same issue)
ODIW - ODIM user previlige: Admin ALL
ODI Version: 10.1.3.x
Although everything seems fine, I got an error during the repository consistency check. When I search the net for the error message I could not find anything.

Repository Consistency Check 39008 "does not join"?

I'm using Administration Tool 11.1.1.6.0 with a Repository version of 318.
I have imported my star schema metadata from the database using an OCI connection. All the joins were included, so I can go to Physical->Fact Table->Physical Diagram->Object(s) and Direct Joins and it shows my fact table linked to all my dimension tables. I then clicked-and-dragged my schema to the Business layer. I created my dimension by right-clicking on my logical tables in the Business layer and choosing Create Logical Dimension -> Dimension with Level-Based Hierarchy. This worked for all the dimensions that had only one level (a base level and a grand total level), but resulted in some odd errors when done for dimensions with more than one level. I got around these errors by manually creating these dimensions, clicking-and-dragging the logical columns in, and setting up the keys.
Only now when I do I consistency check, I get three of the following warnings, one for each dimension that has more than one level:

[39008] Logical dimension table [Logical Table] has a source [Physical Table?] that does not join to any fact source.At least, I think it is referring to the Physical Table, but changing the name of the Physical Table doesn't change the error message, though changing the Logical Table name does, so I'm not really sure what it is referring to. Here is what one looks like precisely:
[39008] Logical dimension table Time has a source TIME that does not join to any fact source.Now, each of the three multi-level dimensions have a base level with a key that is present in the Fact Table. I can even right-click on the Fact Table on the Business Layer and go to Business Model Diagram or Physical Model Diagram and get a diagram of my fact table linked to all of its dimensions, including the three in question. Analysis made in OBIEE work so long as I don't use those three dimensions.
Does anybody have any idea what I'm missing here?

Thanks, it looks like the field for those three logical dimensions was left blank for some reason. So it was because the Logical Dimensions weren't joining to the Fact Table, rather than the Logical Tables?

Obiee 11g Global Consistency Check Error

Hello all,
I need guidance regarding an error which pops up after the consistency check. However Admin tool lets the rpd to be saved and uploaded to the server, inspite of this error.
The error is as follows:
"the initialization string in the repository initialization block "NAME" contains the use of USER: or Password:"

Here, you shud use something like this:
Say ur user column us LOGIN in W_DAY_D table.
Then IB sql should be: SELECT DISTINCT LOGIN FROM W_DAY_D WHERE LOGIN = ':USER'
OR
SELECT DISTINCT LOGIN FROM W_DAY_D WHERE LOGIN = 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.USER)'
and also, for ur default initialized may be you can use ur name say 'xxx'

Consistency check error 38011: Logical tables from multiple subject areas..

I received multiple 38011 errors when performing a consistency check after merging repositories:
For example:
Logical tables from multiple subject areas associated, OHRP and Enterprise Warehouse
(OHRP and Enterprise Warehouse refer to different business models)
I'm really not sure what this means, and Metalink and Google aren't turning up anything.
Thoughts?

Does it say anything about Assertion Failure? Also, this is straight up from help regarding import (through file menu) "Use this option when the objects you import are unrelated to objects already in the repository such as when the business model and physical layer objects do not exist. If an object of the same name and type exists, the import process overwrites the existing object with the new object. When you import objects from one repository into another, the repository from which you are importing must be consistent."
Sometimes Merge does bring unexpected (and unwanted results) - especially if there're presentation aliases, duplicate business models, or naming conflicts. If it's not too late, I suggest you use Import,rather than Merge, also, preferably starting with a new RPD file. This would enable you to bring items piece-by-piece and hopefully would allow you to isolate the problem.
Also, depending on the size - it's sometimes preferable to just reproduce missing part(s). I hope this is helpful.
Also, I forgot to say - the Import is deprecated and not supported. They suggest you use Project Extract and Merge. If Merge isn't working out for you and Import isn't an option - maybe you could try Project.

If you go thorugh the BI Admin guide CTRL+E-->Options -->help u will find the plenty of information about the best practices we need to follow
Repository metadata must pass a consistency check before you can make the repository available for queries. The Consistency Check Manager allows you to enable and disable rules for consistency checks, navigate to and fix inconsistent objects, and limit the consistency check to specific objects.
The Consistency Check Manager does not check the validity of objects outside the metadata using the connection. It only checks the consistency of the metadata and not any mapping to the physical objects outside the metadata. If the connection is not working or objects have been deleted in the database, the Consistency Check Manager will not report these errors.
The consistency checker returns the following types of messages:
Error. These messages describe errors that need to be fixed. Use the information in the message to correct the inconsistency, and then run the consistency checker again. The following is an example of an error message:
[38082] Type of Hierarchy '"0RT_C41"..."0RT_C41/MDF_BW_Q02"."Product Hierarchy for Material MARA"' in Cube Table '"0RT_C41"..."0RT_C41/MDF_BW_Q02"' needs to be set.
NOTE: If you disable an object and it is inconsistent, you will receive a message asking if you want to make it unavailable for queries.
Warning. These messages indicate conditions that may or may not be errors, depending upon the intent of the Oracle BI Administrator. For example, a warning message about a disabled join may be the result of the Oracle BI Administrator intentionally disabling a join, such as eliminating a circular join condition. The following is an example of a warning message:
[39024] Dimension '"Paint"."MarketDim"' has defined inconsistent values in its levels' property 'Number of elements'.
Best practices. These messages provide information about conditions but do not indicate an inconsistency. The message appears if a condition violates a best practice recommendation. The following is an example of a best practice message:
[89001] The Physical Table '"XLS_Forecast"."Forecast".."Sheet1$"' has no keys defined.

* Checked the respective PSA data field which is fine. Dates are in correct format.
* RSRV ran for the particular target. It had error but the jobs were successful till yesterday.
* Data from 01.05.2014 is having the problem ( Which I got from the record number in PSA )
NB: We are running on HANA database but the respective target is not yet HANA Optimised

Record Number 2995 is shown in the figures attached.
I have already carried out the deletion and automatic repair mentioned in RSCV061 even before posting this question but of no use ( I have shown that also in the figures attached at the posting time.
Reporting is fine. The problem is while loading the data to the cube. The loading is fine till date 30.04.2014 but from the date 01.05.2014. The record is error while updating.
The cube is partitioned from month 01.2008 to 12.2015.

Consistency check error in sender file content conversion

I am trying one simple File to File scenario in which i have only fields 1>salesorder_number 2>Description
I created a txt file with line items "100,crudeoil" with file name as salesorder.txt
In the sender file adapter i have configured the file convertion paramenters as follows:
Document name : mt_salesorder_sender
Document namespace : http://se.com.sa/sec-sa-qax "Namespace of message type
Recordset Structure : document,*
document.endSeparator : 'nl'
document.fieldSeparator: ,
document.fieldNames : salesorder_number,Description
So after this if i run the scenario In file adapter i am getting the error like "Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'document.fieldFixedLengths' or 'document.fieldSeparator' is missing Consistency check: no. of arguments in 'document.fieldFixedLength' does not match 'document.fieldNames' (0 <> 2) "

I've implemented the note 1101544 in the central system
executed the report Z_CNVTDMS_08_FIELD_SET with P_PHASE to 'S'.
and after this, I re-executed the activity "Execute Consistency Checks" from the extended mode of the process tree several times.
But it remains the same issue.
Did I miss anything?

Fileserver consistency checks failing 0x809909B0

I have a file server with approx. 1.7TB of files which became inconsistent on the 8<sup>th</sup> of November, and has been unable to complete a consistency check since then.
Consistency checks fail with the error:
The protection agent on <server> was temporarily unable to respond because it was in an unexpected state. (ID 60 Details: Internal error code: 0x809909B0)
I have removed and re-added the server, including deleting the protected data from DPM disk, and reinstalled the DPM agent on the file server, but I still receive the above error when consistency checking.
DPM is System Center 2012 R2 v4.2.1254.0 on Windows Server 2012 R2.
The file server is running Windows Server 2012 R2 also.
KB2919355 is installed on both systems.
I did have Dedup running on the file server, but have un-deduped the drive as part of troubleshooting this issue.
Other servers backed up by this DPM server are being backed up fine, including a HyperV cluster, 2 exchange servers and 2 sharepoint farms.
There are a large number of these errors in the DPMRA log around the time the job fails:

OBIEE Consistency Check is taking too much time

Hi,
When I run consistency check globally, it takes too much time. Itt is waiting after completing about %80 of it. I can't click on it, the application is freezing. How can I recover it? What can be the cause of this problem?

Hello Mohan,
The DBTABLOG table does get large, the best is to switch off logging. If that's not possible, increase the frequency of your delete job, also explore one more alternative have a look at the archival object: BC_DBLOGS, you could archive old records (in accordance with your customer's data retention policies) to reduce the size of the table.
Also, have a look at the following notes, they will advise you on how to improve the performance of your delete job:

Recovery points and consistency checks are failing for one disk on file server. Access is denied (0x80070005)

Good day! I've built a new DPM 2012 R2 server and migrated or re-created jobs from my older 2012 SP1 DPM servers as trying to upgrade them was not working out. The DPM R2 server is running great besides this one issue. The problem is with a file
and print server at a remote office. Since it has around 750 GB of user data on it I chose to do manual replica creation on the data disk, (E:) but created the C:\ drive replica normally, over the WAN. The manual replica creation was successful, and the initial
consistency check and recovery point creation worked as expected, however, since then it will not create another RP or run a CC on the E:\ drive. Recovery points on the C:\ drive are being created properly. When I try to run a CC I get this error: "An
unexpected error occurred while the job was running. (ID 104 Details: Access is denied (0x80070005))" I've tried to drop protection on the two directories of the E:\ drive (retaining data) and re-create, but that didn't help. I've even done a recovery
from the initial RP to verify that it was created properly, and that worked as well.

Access Denied error is usually caused by Antivirus software. Please disable real time scanning on the DPM Server for DPMRA process.

To resolve this problem, configure the antivirus program to exclude real-time monitoring of the Dpmra.exe program on the Data Protection Manager server. By default, the Dpmra.exe file is located in the following folder:
