Regarding the generation of the change log request

Hi,
While going through the BW310 document,i came across the below notes..
The user can choose whether the changes called up from the different load requests are to be combined in a change log request, or whether a change log request is to be generated for each loaded request.
How can i make the above settings.Where should i go inorder to get the screen where i can mention 'A change log request is to be generated for each loaded request'.By default the setting is like that.But i would like to know where to make these settings.
Please help me.
Regards,
Rajesh janardanan

Hi rajesh,
If you select do not condense request into one request when activation takes places, ur generating one change log request for each loaded request. i.e while activation, each request is activated seperately and for each activation, one change log request is created. The advantage of this is you can delete individual request at the time of deletion from the ODS ( if at all u want to ). Suppose you club request and activate, and in the one request u want to delete later, then ull endup deleting all the request which are activated together.
Process request serially when activation takes place has nothing to do with the change log requests. It sees to it that the activation process is serial instead pf parellel.
Please post for more

  • Activation of ODS fails: Change-Log Request ODSR_... does not exist in ODS

    Hello Experts,
    I have a problem loading in an ODS object in Release BW 3.5. This load is in parallel to loading in a Cube and InfoObjects from 10 different SAP sources monthly.
    Everytime, I load data, Activation fails. The Error message is "Change-Log Request ODSR_... does not exist in ODS ..." These Requests (30 requests) are very old starting with the Go-Live date of the application in 2005. If I search for the first Request in Reconstruct, a request without a InfoPackage-Name is found and if I reconstruct the request, all other new loaded Request are activated and everything is fine. The next month, the same error appears, but without the one old request in the list reconstructed the month before of course.
    A few months before I had to repair loading and deleted also requests in the ODS. Then I realized my mistake, that reconstruction is not possible, because the request was gone in the reconstruction list. So I searched for the PSA Request in the ODS reconstruction list, found the requests and reconstructed these. Could this be the reason for my current problem?
    But how can I stop this error? Reconstructing all of the requests did not work, because one request says, no active update rules exist for this request. So I stopped reconstructing every request of the long list.
    Please help me, I could not find any helpful information until now ...
    Many thanks in advance,
    Hannes

    Hi,
    For the old requests that you don't want and that are not valid, goto the monitor for those and mark them red. After that you won't face any problems while activating the new requests.
    The reason this is happening is that during activation BW thinks that these old requests are valid as they are green and tries to activate them as they are in squence. When it dosen't find them then it gives the error. If you mark them red, they are ignored and the next request is taken into consideration.
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • Identify ODS change log request from Cube update rules init routine

    Hello all.
    I need to use a logic in the Start routine of a cube, whcih change log request are move from an ODS when doing a delta.
    Anyone knows if this is possible???
    Thnaks and best regards,
    Alofnso.

    Hello Oscar.
    Basically my requirement is to do a selective deletion of the cube, before I load the new data, but the selective deletion has to be done according to some fields of the data that is going to be load to the cube.
    That´s why I need this.
    Best Regards,

  • How to stop the generation of the trace files relate to the particular user

    Dear All,
    Please advice:
    Is it possible to stop the trace file created by a user for a particular job (sql/exp)
    For example :
    Trace files create whenever the user run the sql/exp command from his application server.
    This will created a huge files and caused the file system getting full (not in bdump but it is generation in application user home directory).
    Is there any method to stop the generation of the trace files relate to the particular user base on that job.
    thanks,
    Shanoj

    Dear SHANOJ
    This trigger will created for that specific user by dba or person who have sysdba privs. it will triggered at the login time of that user and alter the sqltrace.
    for example we have write one trigger in our database for every ddl operation in database.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "SYS"."SYS$DDLTRIG" after DDL on database
    declare
    v_machinename VARCHAR2(100);
    v_osuser VARCHAR2(100);
    v_dbuser VARCHAR2(100);
    v_host VARCHAR2(100);
    v_program VARCHAR2(100);
    v_instance VARCHAR2(100);
    v_date VARCHAR2(100);
    begin
    select to_char(sysdate, 'mm-dd-yyyy HH24:MI:SS'),user,sys_context('userenv','OS_
    USER'),sys_context('userenv','HOST'), (select instance_name from v$instance),(se
    lect program from v$session where sid = (select distinct sid from v$mystat)),(se
    lect machine from v$session where sid = (select distinct sid from v$mystat)) int
    o v_date,v_dbuser,v_osuser,v_host,v_instance,v_program,v_machinename from dual;
    IF ora_sysevent = 'DROP' or ora_sysevent = 'REVOKE' or ora_sysevent = 'GRANT' or
    ora_sysevent = 'CREATE' or ora_sysevent = 'TRUNCATE' or ora_sysevent = 'ALTER'
    Then
    insert into ddl_log_new(v_date,v_dbuser,v_osuser,v_host,v_instance,v_program,v_m
    achinename,V_EVENT,V_OBJECT_NAME,V_OBJECT_TYPE,V_OBJECT_OWNER) values (v_date,v_

    obj_name,ora_dict_obj_type,ora_dict_obj_owner);
    END IF;

  • Where to see the images other than change log table

    Dear all,
                   How to view images for extraction's (example Generic )  in  DSO without using Change log table.
    With Regards,
    Baskaran

    Hi,
    There is no other option other than change log table to view the images.
    in PSA..we will get only raw data..i.e...its non other than the data how its posted in source sytem.we can say..this is only copy of source sytem data.
    after PSA,if the datasource is DELTA enabled(which can sustain NEW or CHANGED records-here only we get concept of IMAGES),we have to load this data only to DSO.from there after activation of the data,the data can be updated to further data targets only from CHANGE LOG table which can maintain images.
    Even further targets are also DSOs,we will have to load from this DSO only.so we can see images only in change log table.
    hope this is clear for you.

  • Any BAPI or FM to use to update the Customer Address with change log?

    Hi, does anyone have used any BAPI or FM that will update the customer address (Central Address management fields) and the change will be logged in the change history of customer master? I have tried several FM that can update the fields but none of the change will show up in the change history of the customer master.
    So far, I have tried the following FM:
    ADDR_MAINTAIN_COMPLETE
    ADDR_UPDATE
    BDC is not acceptable due to high volume of data. However, the change log is also required.
    Please share any advice.
    Thank you,

    Hi Minami,
    for chenge address use FM : BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE       (SAP BP, BAPI: Change Address)
    otherwise check with below FM ,for address related information
    BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESSES_GET              SAP BP, BAPI: Determine All Addresses
    BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_ADD                   SAP BP, BAPI: Add Address
    BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE                 SAP BP, BAPI: Change Address
    BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_GETDETAIL             SAP BP, BAPI: Read Address

  • Why wlappc ANT task forces aways the generation of the EJB classes ?

    I've got a problem with the ANT task "wlappc" witch interfaces Weblogic compilator.
    In fact, I would like to execute the ebj compilation only when needed (if the deployment descriptor or a class changed for example).
    It seems that this is the default behavior and the 'forcegeneration' option of the wlappc Ant task can change it (the doc is below).
    forceGeneration :
    Forces generation of EJB and JSP classes. Without this flag, the classes will not be regenerated unless a checksum indicates that it is necessary.
    So I wrote :
    <wlappc source="${descriptors}/CommandeEntities" output="${build}/CommandsEntities.jar" keepgenerated="true" verbose="true" forcegeneration="false">
         <classpath refid="ejb.classpath"/>
    </wlappc>

  • Can we delete the change log table of ods?

    hi bw gurus,
    can we delete the newdata,active and change log table of ods?how?what is the advantage?
           OR
    can we delete the contents of new,active,change log table of ods?how?what is the advantag?
    thanks in advance
    srinivas

    Hi Srinivas
    Yes, You can delete the contents of changle log table but not the contents of new data and active data table.
    Before deleting the change log data you have to make sure that the requests are not required for further delta extraction or for reconstruction purpose.
    Steps
    1. Goto Manage screen of your ods
    2. Click on Environment tab and select the option " Delete change log data".

  • Configure the Change Log for the activity

    Hi to all,
    I would like to know if it is possible to configure the "change log" for the activity.
    Thanks in advanced,
    Matte

    Carlos,
    Can you be more specific on the term 'Configure'.  Change log is automatically generated by SBO.  The only thing you can change is the numbers of Historical instances of the log
    Administration > System Initialization > General Settings.......Services Tab...History or Log Settings.  Be default it is 99 instances.

  • Can I continuous update a waveform in a 6713 Card? I need to inc and dec the frequency continuously without stoping the generation. Can I do so? how?

    Hi.
    I`m using labview 7 and a analog output board, the 6713. I`m building a system that generates sine wave forms and I need to change the frequency of the generated waveform without stoping the generation. Can I do so? And how?
    Thanks.
    Ismail.

    You can invoke the "AO Clock Config" VI after invoking the "AO Start" VI to change the update rate without stopping the generation. The "Function Generator" example does exactly this.

  • Reconstruct from Change log

    Hi All,
    I have a situation here where I have deleted a delta load request from ODS. Load is not through PSA.
    I have reconstructed the request from Change log several times before but here in my case I am not able to find the change log request when I give my selections in "Multiple Selections" in Reconstruction tab.
    The search parameters I have given are Infosource, Source system, Request Number, Req Id, and date. I have manipulated with these selections here but still not able to find the request in change log.
    Could someone please help me here If Iam missing something?
    Iam on BW 3.5
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Venkat,
    Iam not able to see my request in the reconstruction tab.
    Just now I realized  that there were totally 4 requests that were activated with single CHange log ID and by mistake I deleted this delta as well while deleting the other requests.
    Any chance of getting back this delta req from change log?

  • Need suggestion to get data from change log table of ODS.

    Hello,
    There is a case where i am loading opportunity header data from header ODS and opportunity item data from item ODS in the opportunity cube.
    Status (1= OPEN, 2= WON ETC) of the opportunity are available only in header ODS and not in item ODS.
    While loading data from header ODS to cube, I am loading it directly but while loading data from item ODS to cube i am using active data table of header ODS as a lookup in the update rule from item ODS to cube. I am selecting status from the active data table of header ODS while loading data from item ODS to cube.
    Since active data table will have only after image records, there is some data mismatch in the report as i am selecting data from active data table of header ODS while loading data from item ODS to cube.
    I need to select data from Change log in order to get before image also instead of active data table in order to overcome this issue. Is there any way by which i can do selection from Change log instead of active data table as change logs are generated at run time.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Sanjay Chaurasia.

    Hi,
    You can use the changelog table of the DSO.
    Right click manage the Header DSO, go to the contents tab and click Change Log table. There you can see the technical name of the Change Log table.
    In the update rule Routine, give the tech name of Change log table instead of Active table name.
    Hope it helps.

  • Change logs missing for OB52

    Hi Experts
    We have a peculiar problem where change logs are missing for some of the transactions made through OB52 for modifying FI posting periods.
    I vefired that change logging has been correctly activated for table T001B. Though change logs are  displayed for most of the transactions through SCU3 or in table DBTABLOG, logs will be missing for some records.
    Can you please let us know what could be the possible scenarios where change logs are not recorded for OB52 or table T001B even though logging has been activated.
    Any inputs on this will be very helpful.

  • Change logs for material master are cut

    Hi,
    I am having a problem with material master logs. I am not able to get the complete logs for the changes made on a partcular material.  It is displaying the change log from today to 2006 but i want to check till 2001. As of now it is cutting it till 2006.
    Where as in the quality system i am able to see the complete log but not in our production system.
    The way to view material master changes is display any material and go to Enivornment menu and select display changes.
    Regards,
    Chitrasen

    It is possible to archive change documents independent of the objects they belong to.
    Usually you would archive a material master and at the same time all change logs get archived too with object MM_MATNR
    But as already said. It is possible to archive change logs independtly with object CHANGEDOCU
    so execute SARA, enter CHANGEDOCU and click the administration button. If you see archives that were recently created, then you can be sure that your logs got archved.
