Registration and print failure

After getting the pop up message about registering several times, eventually the ability to print was lost.  After registering printing still fails, the printing does work on desktops registered right away.  There is no error, the printer shows 1 page processed, 0 pages output.  We are very new to crystal reports so we are really struggling with how to debug this issue. Any  assistance  is much appreciated.  Any ideas?  Any debug or trace suggestions?  Any one know of registery mysteries around registration and printing?
Thanks

Well the patch did not change anything, but a good thing to do regardless.
Due some miscommunication with my co-worker, I misinformed you, printing from the designer works, but not the app.
We tried creating a new app in visual studio and writitng a little code to spit out a report.  This was a very helful suggestion, it worked.
Interesting is that the application development is being done by 2 of us, using visual source safe for version control and sharing the files.  The problem only occurs on 1 desktop, which sort of imples the issue is outside the application or at least perhaps in a locally corrupt app..
We are trying, now, on the affected desktop, to delete the application directories and reinstantitate it from visual source safe.  The theory being that there is something in the app that is causing the problem, but that it is local to the machine and not retained in the source safe repository as when the contents of the repository is push to a development environment on a new desktop there is no issue.
We will let you know if we are sucessful.
Thanks again for your assitance in trouble shooting this issue!  It is much appreciate!

  • Photosmart 7510 e all in one series Printer failure Oxc19a0023

After having been turned off for several months, I plugged in my 7510e and the following message came on the screen.
Printer failure, Oxc19a0023, Please turn printer off then on. I did this with no change. I unplugged both electric plus and USB and reconnected. I removed the cartridges and replaced but the same message keeps coming and I cannot get passed this message. If anyone has had this problem and has been able to fix this or if anyone know how to fix this I would really appreciate some help. Thank you.

Hello @TSLI76 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing 0x errors.  I would like to help!
I would recommend removing the ink cartridges, and performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend this document on An 'Ink System Failure' or a '0x ...' Error Message Displays on the HP Printer Control Panel.

  • Best Practises for File Sharing and Print Server on Windows Server 2012

Is it better to have File Sharing and Print Server installed on the same Windows 2012 Server ?
Or, they should be installed on 2 different Windows Servers ?
    Hussien Sherief

It will work just fine to combine them.
But most people would recommend keeping functionality separate... if the budget allows.  That whole "single point of failure" concept.  If that server dies, you've lost both of those functions.

  • Hp officejet 6700 premium printer-printer failure

I bought a HP officejet 6700 premium a month ago.  I installed the printer and it printed ok.  But after a few day of use, it suddenly stopped printing and gave a Printer Failure massage on the front control panel.  The message says: There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn printer off then on.  If problem persists, contact HP.  I have checked all ink cartridges.  They seem all ok (I have only print less than 10 pages since installed). I have turned power off and on several times but did'nt work.   I have searched all over the HP website for help, but still can't find a solution for my printer problem.   I deeply appreciate, if someone can help me or give me directions to make my new printer works again.  Thanks.
P.S.  my laptop computer has Winders 7.

Did you get an answer? I think the problem lies with the blue print head with the gold pins, they get bent when you change out printer cartridges. Several folks have had this problem. I watched a youtube video of repairman saying both the 6600 and 6700 printer had this problem until HP changed the print heads. I am still fussing with HP about this but I am pretty certain I won't get any relief. Good luck

  • Error Message: "Printer Failure" Problem with print or ink system . . .

    Greetings!
I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but the error message refers to printer or ink system failure so I thought this was a good place. I've been troubleshooting my parents HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 AiO for the last 2 or 3 hours with little success. I've contacted HP tech support but they wanted $200 for the work to be done and neither I nor my parents, who are retired and on a fixed income, have the money to spare.
The tech support people said it was probably a problem with the drivers, so I attempted to reinstall the software, but that didn't help at all. A brief description of the problem might shed some light on this awful situation. Since this morning, my father tried to print something and the printer itself gave the following error message on the front LCD panel on the device itself (ie, not on Windows, but on the printer's display):
        "Printer Failure
There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn it off, then on. If the problem persists, contact HP."
Obviously my first course of action was to follow the directions. I turned it off, unplugged the cord, waited approx. 30 seconds, replugged it in and turned it back on. Nothing changed. I've also tried removing and replacing the Ink cartridges, checking the tray for a paper jam or shortage and performing a rain dance in the hopes of attracting the gods' attention xP. In short, I'm at my wits end and don't know where to go from here.
I'm unable to access the device's LCD display control panel, which controls the printer, as the error message cannot be closed. I've tried restarting the PC as well, and a lot of other basic deductive troubleshooting procedures to no avail (forgive my overuse of cliches).
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance. I wish you all a great day, and may the god of printing protect you from the same situation. I can assure you it's most unpleasant.
    Regards, Sean (frosztbyte)
P.S. I'm not sure what other information might be needed in order to help me, but ask and you shall receive any I can find.

    Hi frosztbyte,
I understand your parents have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 that is saying it has a printer failure, that you have thus far not been able to clear, despite your best effort and a rain dance (at least I know who to blame for the rain now ). I would be happy to help you as best I can!
The first thing I'd suggest you do is plug the printer directly to a wall outlet if it isn't already plugged to one, just to ensure the printer is getting all the power it needs to function properly. If that doesn't seem to change anything though, please have a look through this A 'Printer Failure' Message That Might Include an '0x610000f6' or '0x61xxxxxx' Error Code Displays o... document (it was steps for the same error without an error code as well) and hopefully it can help resolve the issue.
If the issue persists after trying the wall outlet and that document I would advise you try call HP again. I believe the number you called previously may have not have been HP, but another company. If you're in North America just call 1-800-474-6836, and if you're anywhere else have a look at this Contact HP Worldwide page to see what number to call for your area.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • Product registration and warranty??

I recently bought an iMac from Craigslist. The seller assured me that the unit was legit and had about 8 months left on the warranty. He did not have the original bill of sale, since he himself bought it from someone else.
When I asked if the unit 'fell off the truck', he said no.. that he verified the serial number with Apple and that it was a legitimate, not-stolen product. When I asked about the warranty, he said that it was registered with Apple, that I did not need to worry, since they had a record of the registration and knew when the warranty expires; he said the registration is with the unit, not the owner.
I am new to Apple, so I do not know how true all this is. Is there a way for me to verify my iMac is not hot? That it is still under warranty, and when the warranty expires? The seller lead me to believe this information was available for me to verify on the Apple site, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Registering the computer in no way affects the warranty. Apple likes to collect marketing information on people but the warranty is in effect, by law, regardless of any "registration".
Now, to address you question specifically. Apple reserves the right to require a proof of purchase in the event of warranty work. This goes for AppleCare also. When you register AppleCare (the extended warranty), they simply ask you for the date on your bill of sale, or receipt, with the disclaimer I mentioned above. I recently had warranty done at an Apple Store and they did not ask for the invoice, although they could have and refused to cover the work if I could not prove the date the computer was purchased.
So basically, you're out of luck if you need warranty work AND they ask for proof of purchase. If you purchase AppleCare, you have no idea what the "original" date or place of purchase was without an invoice and if you needed to have work done AND they decide to ask you for proof of purchase you're, again, out of luck.
Now, I can't say under what circumstances they're told to ask for proof of purchase. I imagine if the machine is an older model and they may feel the warranty questionable, I really don't know.
I recently tried to look up the machines and iPods I registered in the past and could not find it. It does not appear they offer that information and I would guess because machines and iPods are sold all the time. The only thing you can look up is your AppleCare plan tied to your "user ID" or "account name". If a covered (under Apple Care) machine is sold, you have to get Apple to transfer the extended warranty to the new purchaser's name and address. Note: you do not have to "register" your computer when you first purchase it. After you set up your user name/account for the machine, you can quit the registration process and transmit no information to Apple about that machine; it is purely for marketing purposes and somewhere in the fine print you'll find "registration does not affect your warranty rights".

  • CRS Historical Reporting - printing failure !

    Hello All,
I am getting consistent failures for my users when they try to print from UCCX 8.5 CRS Historical Reporting.  From document ID 108553, and other references, I have set the shared memory to 1 from default of 0 in hrcconfig.ini, still no joy.  The error is and remains could not start print job with a window title of crystal report viewer.  Our environment has Microsoft print queues set up for users.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

I believe you are running into this bug:
    http://cdetsweb-prd.cisco.com/apps/dumpcr?identifier=CSCtn20575&parentprogram=QDDTS
CSCtn20575    Could  not start print job to network on HRC for CCX 8.0(2)
    Symptom:
Cutomers on CCX 8.0 may not be able to print to the network in Historical Reports Client even though all other print jobs work fine.  Error message states "Could not start print job" from the Crystal report viewer.
    Conditions:
Only affects customers on the 8.0 platform of UCCX.  Does not seem to matter if they are on a client system of XP or Win7.
    Workaround:
They can either map the HRC user system directly to the network printer, bypassing the print server, or save the report to the PC and then open in a PDF viewer and print from there.  Bypassing the print server seems to be a good option.

  • SSPR registration and reset started to fail after renewing the certificates

    Hi,
On our FIM 2010 R2 environment (version 4.1.3599.0), after renewing the certificates used on FIM Service/Portal and Password Reset/Registration servers two days back, both the password registration and reset no longer work but instead fails on the  last
step of the process. So for example when user browse to https://passwordreset.domain.com and fills in their domain\username and click next, FIM will send a security code (SMS OTP) to user´s mobile phone and once user then fills in code and click Next, the
Communication error 3008 is shown to user. Same happens in the last step of the registration where user reviews that the mobile number is correct before clicking finally next. Once clicked the same error as is with Reset portal is shown to user.
Other changes than renewing the certificates have not been done to the environment after it was working last time two days ago. Synchronization of users/groups create in FIM Portal works normally towards AD.
All servers within FIM environment are on same domain and subnet and firewall is off on all servers.
The following error message as an example is recorded on FIM app log on either of the SSPR servers (two in NLB):
The error page was displayed to the user.
    Details:

Can anyone help us with this and provide some tips what to check next on the environment? As the most weird thing here is that everything was working just fine before the certificates were renewed on all servers and no other changes were done on the environment.
    -Pappa75

    Hi,
Have you Stop-Start the FIM Service? If not then try this after performing this step. Also, there may be a possibility that the service won't be able to start if there is issue with the certificate.
The SSPR issue is related to certificate only, which might have some missmatch in the thumbprint value or some other problem.
If there is a problem with thumbprint of certificate, then you might see error in the Event Viewer and which can be resolved by making the certificate's thumbprint same within registry.

  • How to layout and print business cards in Avery 8873

I am new to Pages and can not figure out how to create business cards that register and print in
an Avery form 8873 Business Card sheet.  This should be so simple.
    Please advise he simple trick.
    Mike

Have you opened and used the Avery word template for that sheet from Avery's website?
Tight registration is always a problem with printing to a desktop printer. The paper just doesn't have an accurate paper feed.
It is always best to design your cards with generous tolerances so nothing vital gets trimmed off, especially when doublesided printing.

  • I give up! Can I send someone the ID CS3 file and print file for Help

I have done everything I possibly can (given I am no where near expert), and can not figure this printing out.
I have a food menu that is on 11 x 17 (will be tri fold) ID file with a border. The border is a "Placed" PSD file into a separate ID layer.
Even though it looks perfect on the screen, I can not get it to print properly using an Epson Stylus 1400 series printer (wide body).
The border does not print correctly.
I can (and will if you want), print the menu to a file and send it to someone (along with the ID CS3 file and PSD file) to see if someone can tell me what stupid things I am doing.
I also believe I can print to a file, then bring the printed file up on the screen and do a Snagit Screen Grab to upload to pixentral.com If this is possible, you will see how the border did not print correctly. I would also take a screen grab of the ID CS3 menu file so you can see how the border is perfect.
I am hoping someone with a wide body printer can load 11 x 17 paper and try to see what I am doing wrong. I am printing it on 11 x 17, landscape, centered borderless stock and it looks good in preview mode.
Any and all help would be appreciated. At least I don't have those OOLLM phantom lines like I did on my last plea for help.
    Bob

    Hmmm.
Looking at the last picture, I see what is going to be a bit of a problem for you, I think. Do you really have a thin red line around the outside of the yellow border?
Here's how bleeds work, and why they are set up the way they are. Printing, and more importantly, trimming, is done on mechanical equipment. Paper sizes may or may not be entirely uniform in a stack, or there may be minor alignment issues when jogging the stack, or there may be dust build-up, or any number of other little things that conspire to keep a stack of prints from being 100% perfectly aligned with each other, or a cutter setting may be off by a few thousandths of an inch making the trim larger than intended. In such cases there is a possibility that color intended to run all the way to the edge of the page may in fact stop short of the trimmed edge, leaving the paper showing.
To hide this, and that's all you are doing, hiding misalignments, areas of color at the edge of the page are extended beyond the page boundary, typically 1/8" in the US, so that the excess color will fill what would otherwise be a blank area after trimming. InDesign Allows you to set up a "Bleed Area" in the document setup, which adds a colored guide around the page for easy reference, and also allows you to check the "use Bleed Area" checkbox in the print dialog so you don't need to specify it manually.
Now for why that narrow red line is a problem, if it is really there. Printing presses typically can maintain sheet to sheet registration that is very accurate, but desktop printers are often off by as much as 1/16" in either direction from sheet to sheet. Further, there can be some paper stretching during the printing process, and the aforementioned dust build-up or slight errors in cutter setup, which can cause the paper to be trimmed slightly inside the intended mark. Also consider that if the paper is cut outside the mark on one edge, it will be cut the same distance inside on the opposite side.
So, if you have a thin line on the edge of the page, you need to be very accurate in both sheet-to-sheet registration AND in cutter setup or you risk cutting off the line on one or two edges completely, and leaving more than you planned on the opposite edges. The thinner the border is, the greater the risk of cutting it off, and the more small differences in position will show. (The difference between 1/16 and 1/8 is much more obvious than the difference between 1/16 and 3/8 )
As a corollary, jobs that bleed need to have a safe zone, or "live area" that is smaller than the page dimension by at least the amount of the bleed allowance all around so that trimming at the outside of the bleed on one edge doesn't end up cutting off something important on the opposite edge. The easiest way I can think of to visualize this is to think of trimming as if you were putting an open frame the finished size on top of the print, and you move it around so that the hole exposes more on one edge while hiding the opposite edge the same amount.

  • Ping drop and general Failure on wireless

    Hi all,
I am facing the ping drop and general failure error when I am connected to AP and try to do ping any IP with the ping size is 5500 bytes.Print screen shot is attached for your reference.
    Product/Model Number                 : AIR-AP1242AG-A-K9

yes that is what I mean. And you cannot figure out if this is happening or not. Don't rely on the wireless connection icon on windows.
It can be possible that your wireless adapters notices that the RF is busy and there were a few packet drops so it reconnects quickly. It's usually transparent to applications but if you are running a ping at that time ...
In any case, conclusion is : check your RF environment. How many APs around ? a lot of traffic ?

  • My gray scales show up in shades of purple and print that way

My hard drive died and I purchased a new hard drive.  I run Vista Business and have both PS cs3 and PSE.  Both programs show my grayscales as shades of purple.  It also prints as shades of purple.  But I have other photo editing software and it shows grays correctly and prints correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  It use to work okay before the new hard drive was installed.  None of my other software is acting any differently.
    Thanks much.

I had (shame on me) purchased PS CS3 from Ebay.  Naturally it was pirated and I reported it to all authorities including Adobe.  I since have purchased PS CS4 directly from Adobe.  I thought the problem would go away, but it hasn't.  My monitor is set correctly, my color profiles are correct according to the Lynda.com sessions and Photoshop help files.  My video card is a Nvidia GE9500GT and I just updated the driver per CS4 instructions, so I am up to date with that.  But my color swatches still appear as shades of purple to the screen.
I drew a custom black/white/50% gray shape.  The screen shows the shape as a purple shade and it prints pretty good now.  What disconcerning is that the screen shows grays as purples in both my new PS CS4 and now in PS Elements 6.0.  (which it never did before)  None of my other programs for video or photography show grays as purples, only Photoshop programs.  I sent the file to my friend who has PS CS3 and he can see it fine as 50% gray, but I can't.  I am totally baffled and bothered by this.
Could it be that something in the pirated software didn't clean out of my system totally?  I did the uninstall and then used revo uninstaller to get rid of all remaining registries, but perhaps I need to take PS Elements off and CS4 off and start over again?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I have contact Adobe support but they don't answer stating that they have to verify my product. ????
    Thanks much.
