'Registration Timeout'

Hi,
I have posted this in the iPod Nano 2g forum but the problem may well be iTunes related so I hope you don't mind me posting here as well.
I have plugged in my new Nano and am getting a timeout message when I try to register the Nano. No matter what button I press ('Later', 'Never' or 'Continue') I get the same problem.
I have been told to try re-installing iTunes and then trying again - is this a case of downloading the latest version from the Apple website?
Any pointers gratefully received! Thanks.
iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 Ghz (20")   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Update - have downloaded the latest version of iTunes and re-installed. I have done a software update and rebooted. No change. Still can't use by lovely £130 Nano properly.
Does anybody from Apple ever read these forums because I don't seem to be the only person having this problem? I'll take my Nano into my nearest Apple Store and see what they say. Otherwise, I'm not sure what to do except ask for my money back.

  • Problem when applying IPSEC to DMVPN

Hi i have some trouble with DMVPN
i configured NHRP between  a HUB and  aSPOKE:

the HUB has two physical interfaces and two logical interfaces.
The SPOKE has one physical interface and two logical interfaces.
in configured NHRP correctly, the tunnels  are  detected in the HUB and the SPOKE.
when i add the profile IPSEC to the intefaces i lose tunnel1.

  • Dual ISP Hub and Spoke DMVPN

    Hello All,
I am trying to build a DMVPN solution for two sites each with secondary ISPs.
The solution works "sort of", but doesn't seem very robust (sometimes a router reload is required if VPN doesn't come up after ISP failover)
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to my config below?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    Thanks for the response!
I left the stub on the hub while troubleshooting, it has since been removed.
By DPD, do you mean "crypto isakmp keepalive 10 periodic"?
I've since added that (spoke and hub) and while the tunnels work great (they fail over, can ping 10.255.25x.x) the routes do not update which lead me to believe it's an EIGRP problem. Is there something else I should do for DPD?
    Thanks again

Hello, I would like to help me with something.
I would like to do failover on my cisco router  but the problem is that i have two isp but one of them is DSL. I meam that It learns gateway for dhcp and this is my main gateway.
I tried to do the same thing but I can´t put track in this command "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dhcp.."
    I also use "ip dhcp-client default-route 25" but It didn´t work..
could you help me ? please
I upload a file with configuration that i actually have it. In this file I don´t have any configuration about failover because i tried many option but i haven´t found any solution

  • Omni Portlet shows No Listener

We have Portal 10.1.4. When connection to portal are reached at 120 then omni portlet on every page of portal shows "No Listener". Other content still visisble on the pages, only problem with the omni portlets.
What should i do to solve the issue.
    Thanks in advance

Solutions is to increase timeout value in provider.xml file in MID_TIER_ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_Portal/applications/portalTools/omniPortlet/WEB-INF/providers/omniPortlet. If you change the timeout value, you also need to do the following:
    Bounce your middle-tier.
Increase the provider registration Timeout value of the OracleAS Portal instances with which this provider is registered.

After you have completed upstream and downstream configuration in Chapter 2, "Configuring the Cable Modem Termination System for the First Time,"you have additional options to manage how your cable modems (CMs) operate in the hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network. You can set the following CM functions:

  • EAZYVPN and DMVPN on the same router, same interface

    Hi all,
First of all, thanks in advance for the help. I have setup DMVPN and EAZYVPN on  one router. Tunnel interface on Spoke one and Spoke two are up/up and show crypto ISakmp sa shows both tunnels are in idle. However, tunnel to Spoke one(10.10.1.1) keep bouncing on and off(see below). Every 30 sec or so, the tunnel gone back to IKE phase while tunnel for spoke two(5.5.5.1) still leave active. THe configuration on the HUB side is the same for both spoke!! show crypto ipsec sec shows both side has the same life time(IOS default). Could that be an IOS debug on the spoke one?

    2.  My second issue is, I use the same interface(s0/1/1=10.10.1.1) for eazyvpn access. The client from eazyvpn is connected fine, but does not receive traffric back(statics window show no decrypted=0 and reeiced=0). The eazy vpn can't even ping the IP address assigned to the vpn client(20.20.20.2), and the client can only pin 10.10.1.1 address. Reverse router is able but the 20.20.20.0/24 network didn't show up in the ip table of the HUB router!!!

  • DMVPN GRE with IPSEC fragmentation

When configuring our tunnel we get an error message indicating that the MTU is greater than the transport value 1376, fragmentation will occur (see below).  We are using transport mode and using the recommended MTU settings of 1400 bytes.  Could this be causing excessive fragmentation and affecting latency and user experience?

You should be good with this configuration -
    Here is the explaination-
When an IP packet has been split into two fragments and encapsulated by GRE. In this case IPsec will see two independent GRE + IP packets. Often in a default configuration one of these packets will be
large enough that it will need to be fragmented after it has been encrypted. The IPsec peer will have to reassemble this packet before decryption. This "double fragmentation" (once before GRE and again after IPsec) on the sending router increases latency and lowers throughput. Also, reassembly is process-switched, so there will be a CPU hit on the receiving router whenever this happens. This situation can be avoided by setting the "ip mtu" on the GRE tunnel interface low enough to take into account the overhead from both GRE and IPsec (by default the GRE tunnel interface "ip mtu" is set to the outgoing real interface MTU - GRE overhead bytes).

  • VRF Lite Issues

Hey people. I'm trying to solve a small VRF Lite project I've been working on. Router has one public interface. I have GRE tunnels going to a VTI. I also created a second tunnel VTI and put it in a VRF so that I could have one plain GRE tunnel and also a second GRE tunnel that supports IPSEC. I can't seem to figure out how to route packets in and out of the VRF and global table. From a tunnel established on the VRF, I would like to ping one of the global table peers networks (or even a loopback interface on the router itself). Below is my config. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello,
The tunnel source and destination must be in the same vrf for this to work. In another case you can use a tunnel to ride over a vrf if required.
So your global table would then become a vrf, i am not sure if we can do this with the global table... :-/ Using your example below:
    ip vrf IPSEC-Customers
     rd 65000:1
     route-target export 65000:1
     route-target import 65000:1

  • Smallest Cisco 800 series + DMVPN?

    Hello
Recently I've been looking into posibilities for extending a DMVPN (already implemented) with very small (1-2 user) remote locations over a single ISP link.
I would like to use what is basically the smallest Cisco router that supports DMVPN and EIGRP (stub) - here's a sample configuration:
    interface Tunnel***
    bandwidth ***
    ip address ***
    ip hold-time eigrp ***
    ip nhrp authentication ***
    ip nhrp map ***  ***
    ip nhrp map multicast ***
    ip nhrp network-id ***
    ip nhrp holdtime ***
    ip nhrp nhs ***
    ip nhrp registration timeout ***
    tunnel source ***
    tunnel mode gre multipoint
    tunnel key ***
    tunnel path-mtu-discovery
    tunnel protection ipsec profile ***
All this accompanied by the appropriate transform set and isakmp policy.
I know that the 881 can accomplish the above without issues (if it has Adv IP Services as licensing).
I would like to know if I can use the smaller routers (physically smaller, that is) for a similar configuration. Can anyone provide insight here? Can the Cisco 819 router (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps10906/ps380/ps11615/data_sheet_c78-678459.html)
provide the same functionality? What about the Cisco 866VAE router (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/data_sheet_c78-693249.html)?

819 does support both DMVPN and EIGRP.
    866VAE does not support DMVPN.

  • Jabber registration issue on CCM 7.1.5

Hi Guys, I'd like to ask your valuable advice on the following:
    - we're running CCM 7.1.5(b)SU5
    - we installed the following .cop files for Android support (we tried one after the other hoping to get around the problem):
         cmterm-android_8.6.2v17.cop.sgn
         cmterm-android_8.6.2v17b.cop.sgn
         cmterm-android_9.0.1v24.cop.sgn
    - we forced the phone (Samsung Galaxy S GTi9000) to install the following Jabber client (found on CCO together with the above device files for which it should be compatible):
         Release 8.6(5) - Optimus-MR3-aligned.apk
Unfortunately we had no luck and the phone gets always the 'timeout/check network config' error.
This is what you see on CCM side:
12/07/2012 10:51:44.332 CCM|SIPStationD(7,100,169,47), BOTTEST, 10.40.251.125:40916, primaryDN=5011, Registration profile error: Error: DB Config, sending registration reject and closing station|<CLID::CCMSG-Cluster><NID::10.40.11.23><CT::0,0,0,0.0><IP::><DEV::><LVL::Error><MASK::0020>
... we followed all the Cisco guidelines to create a suitable device configuration (the same worked like a charm on CCM 8.5).
I'll attach a CCM trace showing the above error (as you may have guesses, the phone name is 'BOTTEST')
    Thanks a lot !
    - Andrea

I've been having a real fun time trying to get Jabber for Android working as well.  CUCM version 8.6.2 and Jabber 9.0.
The trick was to check the box for 'Use Fully Qualified Domain Name in SIP Requests' in the SIP profile you created for Android phones.
I was connecting to the CUCM, but then it would time out.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • How to up the timeout setting to solve password reset portal error "Authentication gate timed out waiting for a challenge response"?

    Hi Everyone,
We have the password portal up and running on one box and another server with FIM R2 and SharePoint 2010.  All is good with the exception that our end users typically get distracted during the password registration and/or reset process and receive:
"An error has occurred. Please try again, and if the problem persists, contact your help desk or system administrator. (Error 3000) ".  The timeout kicks in after 5 minutes of inactivity in the browser.
The FIM Service log shows the following:
"Authentication gate timed out waiting for a challenge response".
I have confirmed that the default password portal web.config setting is <add key="SessionTimeoutInMinutes" value="20" />.
We have also updated Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.exe.config per this
article to the following but with no luck:
    <resourceManagementClient resourceManagementServiceBaseAddress="myAddress" timeoutInMilliseconds="600000" />
      <resourceManagementService externalHostName="myHost" dataReadTimeoutInSeconds="600" dataWriteTimeoutInSeconds="600"/>
We did not update the Windows SharePoint Servicesweb.config setting per the article about since we are on SharePoint 2010.
There is no NLB or firewall in front on this server.
If anyone has any solution to how to solve this on FIM R2/SharePoint 2010 please let me know.
    Cheers!

    FIM_Admin,
You could try changing the receiveTimeoutInSeconds parameter of the resourceManagementService node in your Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.exe.config file. However, you are warned not to do this unless instructed to by MS customer support.
