Reimport model requires server restart for version nw 04s sp15

Hi All,
Does reimport of model requires sever restart in NW 04s sp15, Sometimes it works with out restart of server. .Please give your inputs.
Thanks.

Hi,
The J2EE engine holds a cache of deployed model objects that is optimized by technical system.
Therefore if there are updates in the metadata of a deployed model object, it is necessary to restart the J2EE engine to flush this cache, and make the new interface metadata available to the Web Dynpro application.
Its not always required to restart the server. Its only required when there are updates in the model object.
Thanks n Regards,

  • What type of changes require server restart?

    Hi,
We are trying to minimize downtime for applications and re-design our deployment process. One of the questions is what type of changes require weblogic restart and which would require only re-deployment of application server.
Is there a document which would detail actions required by type of changes in config?
    Sohail

    Hi,
There are basically two types of changes we can make in WLS...
*1). Dynamic Changes:* It means the Changes which doesnt requires Server Restart. Like Updating/deploying/undeploying applications. Creating DataSources, Creating Users in SecurityRealms, Configuring WorkManagers.
*2). Non-Dynamic Changes:* These are the Changes which requires Server Restart ... sothat the changes can take affect. Like: Activating another SecurityRealm as Default realm, Changing cluster Multicast Address, Configuring Startup/Shutdown classes, Changinf ClassPath or Java_options from AdminConsole for ManagedServers using ServerStart Tab, Adding/Removing Managed Servers from Machine...etc.
There is not such link available which lists all the Non-Dynamic & Dynamic Changes. Even AdminConsole also displays sometimes Wrong Message ...sometimes for few Non-Dynamic Changes as well it says "No Restart Required" But actually we had to start it.

i am getting this status when i have restarted a message from SXMB_MONI
Any idea why it is not getting processed to success
what may be the resons ?
i can see the Q status as red dot (message has errors)
    thanks

    thanks ...
so is it a restart of the queues ? (and not the message)
Is this a task that xi admins normaly do ?
when i click on the queue it is specifying "not authorized to run the transaction SMQ2"
So i guess i can request the admin for restart of the queue
I assume messages wont get lost during queue restart

  • Alternative of the server restart for Model re-import

    Hello Everybody,
Whenever we re-import RFC model, we need to restart WAS J2ee stack to make it effective. But, there should be the better solution for this. This could be tolerable for developement system, but this is not the way for production system as it affects so many applications running on production system.
Is there any other way to avoid system restart?
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Hi,
That is showing the changes in the Model i.e., Modified and Newly Added fields/structures/tables.You will get that normally when you re-import the model.
After re-importing the model you need to modify the mapping.

  • MBPr requires SMC restart for iSight camera

New MBP with Retina seems to be having a problem with iSight camera since installing Mountain Lion. It seems that every second day or so the camera stops being recognized and I have to do an SMC reset to restore normal operation. I have checked the USB settings under "About this MAC" and the camera still shows up as being connected even when applications like FaceTime and Skype stop detecting it.
Any help would be very much appreciated, Thanks!

i have the exact same issue. i didnt notice it before mountain lion though

  • Why WSUS installation on WS2012 R2 fails with message indicating server restart required?

    Dear all,
I've trying to install WSUS server role on WS 2012 R2 standard. Server is domain joined, and local SQL server (SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP3) installed. This SQL server is to host the WSUS database.
WS 2012 R2 is fully patched. Nothing else is installed on this server except SQL server mentioned above. I initiate WSUS role installation, specify that WIS is not required, rather WSUS database is required, database connection to locally installed SQL server
is established; which succeeds without any problem, but when wizard starts WSUS role installation it continues to fail over and over. It indicates in server manager task view that role installation failed because the server require restart.
I restarted server several times, repeated the process but this continues to behave like this.
Why WSUS installation on server fails repeatedly?
Why log should be examined or any other dependency is missing here?
    Please advise.
    Regards,

    Hello Steven,
Thanks for the input, in fact I did mention server name to pick SQL server instance from, since the only instance configured is default instance locally on the server where I'm trying to install WSUS on.
When Add Roles/Features selection wizard gets to WSUS configuration; it asks for location where updates will be stored, next it asks to connect to SQL server to use for SUS database; that's where I specify local server's host name (in my case HQCAS) and
click "Check connection" this succeeds without any error.
All these steps proceed without any problem, but later on, WSUS role installation fails. I also checked CBS.log file; but it didn't give any specific clues? The only message I receive is that role installation requires server restart.
I reboot server; start all over, but the behavior remains the same. Since WSUS role did not get install in the first place, it won't be possible to check event viewer for WSUS related events. Moreover...wsusutil.exe tool will also be not available until
    after successful install.
I couldn't reach any post deployment. Had a look at that link you forwarded, the
update mentioned in below area also doesn't apply since I specify the local server's host name and then click "Check connection". This steps goes without any error.  Any other insight would be greatly appreciated.

  • Business Objects 4.0 Server Restart Order

    Hi All,
SAP has recommended to us to do a monthly server restart for our servers to clean out temporary and orphaned jobs and such.
We currently have a clustered CMS environment with another clustered processing tier for the adaptive job servers.
My question is the order in which this restart should happen.
Should we just stop and restart the SIA? Will that accomplish the goal?
Or should we stop the job servers, then the CMS and then restart the CMS and next the job servers?
If anyone has any advice, please let me know.
    Thanks!

I agree with SAP to restart the servers at least weekly once or monthly once to resolve the stuck processes, orphans or zombies in the system.
I have seen when the CMS db connections overload with SQL server happened it didn't resolve the issue with simple SIA restart then it forced us to restart the servers.
Either the servers are VM or Physical it is best to restart the servers weekly once in the following order.
If you  are in clustered mode assuming 2 CMS nodes with multiple processing nodes.
I would recommend to setup some batch job to execute all the stops/restarts from one server instead of from each server.
    1) Write the batch script and place it on last processing node ( Assume 2 CMS nodes and 4 Processing nodes then script will run from 4th processing node)
Stop the SIA/Tomcat on Processing node 4
              wait for 3 minutes
Stop the SIA/Tomcat on Processing Node 3
              Wait for 3 minutes
Stop the SIA/Tomcat on processing Node 2
              Wait for 3 minutes
Stop the SIA/Tomcat on Processing Node 1
              Wait for 3 minutes
Stop the SIA/Tomcat on CMS node 2
              Wait for 5 minutes
Stop the SIA/Tomcat on CMS Node 1
              Wait for 5 minutes
              Restart CMS Node 1
Wait for 7 to 10 minutes
              Restart CMS Node 2
Wait for 7 to 10 minutes
              Restart Processing Node 1
Wait for 7 to 10 minutes
              Restart Processing Node 2
Wait for 7 to 10 minutes
              Restart Processing Node 3
Wait for 7 to 10 minutes
              Restart Processing Node 4
You have to make sure that your CMS nodes are starting prior to processing nodes to avoid any issues.
Make sure no network communication issues between servers other wise some times it leads to some services on processing nodes lead to either Running/Disabled or Initializing/Disabled which requires force termination and start of the service.
You have to do the validation testing after every week restart.

  • Do any services require a restart after changing Message Retry Interval?

I'm trying combat a "grey-list" issue by changing the Message Retry Interval to 15 min from 1 min. I did this change about 12 hours ago and
I my test messages are still sitting in queue. I suspect a service restart is needed. Any ideas?
    Set-TransportServer SAC79906MAILP01 -MessageRetryInterval 00:15:00
    Thanks much! :-)

    Hi CalAdmin,
Exchange 2007 Hub Transport definitely required a restart for that Change :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2006/11/17/configuring-exchange-2007-hub-transport-role-to-receive-internet-mail.aspx
Tested your Setting in our lab, also :) after a restart at least the Setting is effective/working.

  • MobileMe - 60 Day Trial v Paid For Version

    Hi,
I currently have a 60 Day trial for MobileMe, and I'm wondering if that is why my Contacts & Calendars are not syncing / being pushed out. All I am trying to do is add a contact or calendar entry on my iTouch and have it appear when I am logged into my MobileMe account on my pc. Does this require a paid for version to do this? (If it worked I would happily buy it)! Any thoughts or suggestions on this.
    Regards.

    Shawn,
I'm afraid no one here can grant you an extension as every one here is a volunteer, not an employee of Microsoft.  The trial is limited to 60 days and I know no way of extending the trial.  Unfortunately, you also cannot re-install the trial on
the same computer.  If you can create a virtual machine, you should be able to re-install the trial to that VM.
I'm afraid your instructor is going to have to help out more than directing you to ask for an extension.

  • Requires Oracle client for windows server 2008 Version 6.1

    Hello
I am using Windows 2008 Server Version 6.1 (64 Bit). I want to install Oracle client on this server. Which version is suitable for my requirement and from where i can download it.

The amount of information you provide is surprisingly sparse, assuming you want assistance.
So - if you want help, you might wnat to provide some information:
    - the operating system (including edition, and major service pack if WIndows, or distro && major/minor release and kernel if *nix)
    - the URL froim which you downloaded
    - the country yuo are in (since ORacle could redirect to several sitres based on region)
    - the command or executable, including directory path, you run or double-click on
    - the 'exact' error message, or if a generic one like "Unknown", perhaps a screen shot to convince us that it is actually such a generic message
It's just a suggestion, but answering in such detail actually tells us you are serious about resolving the issue - you put in effort, and that may convince us to return some effort.

I install latest update from my ipad 2, after the upgrade tablet running slowly. Probably the system requirements too high for my device. I think that users with older models should be able to install IOS 6.x.x on their devices or consider buying devices from other manufacturers ...
People are dissatisfied with the new update a lot, including some of my friends and acquaintances. Is it reasonable to wait until Apple implements the possibility to return to Ios Ios 6 to 7? And how soon it can be done?
Sorry for my english, i am from Russia.

I have a similar issue. I recently purchased an iPad Mini, and I started off by backing it up from the apps I had on my iPhone. Now, I have a number of apps that never downloaded and that I don't want on the iPad. Some of these are apps that I don't need, while others are the iPhone versions of apps. There are something like 23 apps that I have no use for, but iTunes tries to install every time I connect. I've also tried clicking the 'Will Install' buttons. There's no way to delete these apps from the iPad without first installing them, as far as I can see, and there's no way to NOT install them, in iTunes.
It''s not just annoying, it's causing problems with installation of larger files and movies. Now, every time I sync to the computer, I get a warning that I'm over capacity by 580 MB, and larger apps will not install! Clicking Revert and a bunch of other things doesn't work, either. And I can't just delete some of the apps, because I or my wife use them on our phones!

  • Disabling port 389 for version 4.x/5.x of the Directory server?

Is it possible to close port 389 for version 4.x/5.x of the Directory server?
We need to ony enable 636 for SSL communications. WE currently limit 389 access to the CMS (which oddly enough requires it - ARRGGGG!) by IP Address. We're currently running NT 4 and have turned off 389 and found that there is a need to have 389 open for some initial operations (ignoring the CMS requirement for testing). We have not fully tested this under Solaris ... but anticipate the same to be true.
    Rich

iPlanet Directory Server 5 can run without the 389 port enabled... You need to set the LDAP port to 0.
However, this will prevent the Console and the Admin Server from working correctly. It is OK if you do all the administration of your server using command line utilities.

  • Is there a  requirement to restart the JMS/Weblogc Server everytime when the DB goes down?

    Question:
When the Database is shutdown gracefully everything was fine.
But when the Database is brought down with shutdown abort the MDB consumer will never consume messages from the topic again. And we need to restart the WebLogic Server in order to get the messages consumed again.
So is there a requirement to restart the JMS/Weblogc Server everytime when the DB goes down? If not, what type of failures will require the JMS/WLS restart?

On a DB failure, a WL JDBC store service will make a brief attempt to reconnect before shutting itself down along with any services that depend on the store.
It isn't necessary to restart the entire WebLogic Server JVM to bring the affected service(s) back if you can use the Automatic Service Migration feature.  ASM can automatically restart a failed service on a different WL Server in the same cluster, and/or can try a restart-in-place for the service if the service's original host WL Server JVM is still running.   The Automatic Service Migration (pdf) white-paper has a thorough discussion of this area.
In addition to ASM, there's also a "whole server migration" option that can automatically restart or migrate an entire WL server.

  • What is the build version for Sharepoint 2013 Server including trial version there is one?

    Hello Community
When using WS2012 and Sharepoint 2013 Server, what
build version for a Sharepoint 2013 Server farm should
be applied and where do you get the cumulative update
for it (trial version also if there is one)?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know which SharePoint build version should be applied to Windows Server 2012 and where to get cumulative update.
If you want to use SharePoint in Windows Server 2012, you can use the RTM version 15.0.4420.1017.
For CU update and build version, I suggest you can refer the detailed article below:

    Thanks
