Reinstalling serialised equipment

Hi
I have serialised equipment for the purpose of sending it out for repairs (Through movement types 541 and 542).
But after I receive it through movement type 542, the equipment system ststus is ESTO INST. System status ESTO doesnt permits installation.
How to move this serialised material back to its location?

I have serialised my equipment and am sending it out for repairs through 541 and 542...
My problem starts after it has received in the stores....the status at that stage is ESTO..now how come to install it back to some location....I can use t code IE4N but system is asking for order no in account assignment category which i dont want to use...
Any roundabouts?

  • Serial number tracking

    Dear experts,
    in one my scenario, i need the serial numbers mapping. my clients quality completly based on the calibration of the gauges. N number of types of gauges and instruments are used in their business. each types of N number gauges and instruments. they given the serial numbers for each type of gauge in existing process , for their calibration of gauges tracking purpose . in this case i am create the material code for each gauge type along with serial number profile. after assigning the serial number profile. in serial number profile, i am selecting exist req check box, consistency check as No-validation, in serializing procedure, i am taken mmsl, cat p, and equp as 1 (with/out equipment number), after assigning i create the serial numbers for that gauge type by using IQ01. after creating the serial numbers, i do goods receipt and checks the stock. there i found same gauge type have 35no.of pcs. out of 35, after calibration results 2pcs are i scraped by using 551movement type and 5pcs i blocked ( from unrestricated to blocked stock). now i checked in mmbe there, i can see the untestricated stock 28pcs but problem is i am seeing all the serial numbers. here i want only unrestricated serial numbers, how i can control this one , please suggest me , if this one solved my issue will be solved. or else if any better solution other than this one please suggest me.
    example: plaing plug gauge 28.00mm+-0.02 its one type or group, under this group he have 100pcs of gauges. each gauge have different calibration dates, calibration frequency was 6months, these gauges are assigned to production orders as a prt. in this scenario how i can treat the gauges? is material prt or equipment prt? i am thinking i can create as material ( each group) this material assigned to equipment in serial data. i can make the plan this equipment, under this equipment i can assign the all the serial numbers in object list. from there i can get the plan. please study the scenario and suggest me as soon as possible,

    Dear Jalu,
    As per my undersatnding about your scenario you can use the following option:
    Material number for the pressure gauges and maintain serail numbers. Activate equipment view for serial numbers.
    If you want to have a detailed calibration procedure use the functionality of QM. You can create maintenance plans for calibration of gauges for each serialised equipment.
    For identifying scarapping you can have a separate storage location as SCRAP and move the defective one to that storage location.
    From the IQ09 list itself you can identify the status (like ESTO - means in wearhouse , INST installed , AVLB - available) and its present location(like storage location , Functional location or superior equipment etc)
    In mmbe also  you can see the details( this should be possible in the way you have already configured also)
    From mmbe output , select on the relavant quantity ( unrestricted , Quality Inspection or blocked qty etc.) and go to Environment ->Equipment/Serial number. It will display only the serial number which comes under that stock type.

  • Error in creating functional location

    Hai all,
    My struc.indicator is XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX.
    I have created the functional locations till the third hierarchy level.Also i created the user status and assign this profile to the functional lcoation named  XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX
    Based on the above settings, i have done the transactions also by changing the user status from one to another in the above said functional location.Later i decided that this user status is not relevant for this and i cancelled the assignment  in the functional location and in the OIBS Object types.
    Even after removal of assignment, still the assignment of status profile to the funtional lcoation is showing in the IL02.
    Now i couldnt able to create the new functional location and system is throwing the following error.
    No status object is available for FL  #1
    Message no. BS001
    Diagnosis
    When trying to read the status of an object (FL  #1), a system error occurred: For object number TM0000000001IF there is no status object.
    Procedure
    Please contact your system administrator.
    Now my questions are
    1.How to permanently delete the assignment of userprofile still showing in the functional location even after cancel the assignment .
    2.How to eliminate the above said error

    1.I am using IE02 for insall the equipment.
    2.This is happening every time and also i tried for another functional location category and structural indicator too.
    3.I am getting the same error messages whenever i am trying to create the fucntional location.
    4.I changed the user status of the F.Loc and again i tried the reinstalling the equipment.No change observed.
    Also, Finally i cancelled the assignment and deleted the user status profile itself.Still its not working .
    Since i am concentrationg on the other part, i couldnt continoulsy do the trouble shooting.
    Any other suggestions.

  • How to bring the equipments into system

    I have one probelm  we have list of equipments which are measuring like torch wrech ,multimeter 100 nos not in the sap system
    now we want to bring those in sap system without affecting inventory .
    The materail number for these are created in sap but are deleted .
    How we can bring these equipments in the system we have serial numbers for all these equipment s(marked on these)
    Is we have to create non  valuated materail then how new materials can be procured

    Dear Pratap,
    What I understood about your requirement is that you have equipment already installed in locations.Without affecting the inventory you need to make them as serial numberised equipment.Also these equipment needs to be purchased and tracked with PO in future. if this is the case I don't feel it as complicated.
    1. You create material numbers forthe equipment (One material number for one type of equipment) and give the serail number profile in the material master.
    2.It can be valuated material with either moving average price or standard price as per your requirement.
    3. then instad of bringing these already installed equipment  to stock , you create equipment master and from view profile you select serial numbers and enter the material number and serial number for each equipment.(If needed you can use an LSMW in recording method for this)
    4. Now you have the material master master with price and serial numbers / equipment for those materials. Since you have created the equipment master directly it did not affect the inventory.
    5. in future when you want to buy a new equipment(new serial number for material) you can create PR , PO and do the GR.While GR it will ask for serial number and you can update it.
    6. Before installing the equipment you can issue this serial number from your inventory.
    7. Once it is issued and before it is being instlled go to IQ02 and activate equipment view and do the installation.
    Note:Hope you are using internal number range for serialised equipment , bacause at the time of GR when you are entering the serial number the system will automatically create an equipment number. This equipment is the one you activating for installation through IQ02. If you need to maintain External number for equiment you have to go for a work around method of creating the equipment master with serial number details first before the GR.

    We need to create equipment master for a material while issuing the material, i.e while saving the Goods Issue for that material.
    The material is not serialised. Are there any BAPI's or a BADI which I can use to accomplish the desired functionality. Are there any exits during MIGO which i can use. Please help.

    Sure. Here it is:
    Go to SPRO.
    Logistics Execution
      Transportation
        Shipment cost
          Shipment cost document
             Shipment cost type and Item category.
    For the shipment cost item category you are processing, lets say standard 0001 (Transportation costs). double click on it.
    You will find all you need in the tab SETTLEMENT.
    There, there is a field GENERATE PO.
    Select one of the options:
         Do not generate purchase order
    A     Generate purchase order for validity period of 1 day
    B     Generate purchase order for validity period of 1 week
    C     Generate purchase order for validity period of 1 month
    Once the shipment cost is created and transfered to MM(settled), if there no open PO for the carrier, the system creates one.

  • I do updates and then have to reinstall previous versions - time and time again because of the number of unsupported add-ons

    4 or 5 times I've updated Firefox only to have to reinstall the previous version due to incompatibility with add-ons / plug-ins / toolbars. I'm not a big user of Toolbars but I have some add on I use daily.
    The last 3 times I did a "suggested by Firefox" update I've had to reinstall a previous version from my saved files in order to use Firefox. This problem has caused me to return to IE as my default browser - but unwillingly.
    My current setup is Firefox 4.0.1 Beta and I had to reinstall a version 3 in the Firefox folder until addons starting working in this 4.0.1 Beta. However 4.0.1 has always hung up, even opening a tab and ceases to respond; sometimes for minutes.
    I run Win XP - SP3 Dell Pentium 4 - 3.0ghz with 4 gigs of DDR2 - GX520. So it's not an equipment problem - (I have 4 PC's on my home LAN - although each serves it's purpose and seldom are 2 used at the same time.
    When I installed 4.0.1 and then reinstalled 3.x ... I've been hoping for an update --- I love Firefox - have ever since first use - and then today I saw the update versions had jumped from 4 all the way to 7. I was enthused.
    Same issue. On install over the V 3.x it showed 6 items of add-ons that were incompatible. I did not remove the V 7 ... I simple reopened the 4.0.1 beta. I use it for single page browsing as tabs locks it up or slows it to a crawl.
    I'm having to continue using IE as my default --- I always keep a backup browser, but I don't care for much of anything that has an MS on it's name.
    I've never posted to Mozilla ... but the idea crossed my mind over a year ago when I updated and had to back-up and reinstall. WHY can't a program precede the update to check for compatibility, just as an upgrade adviser from one OS to another?
    This was the biggest list of all. NET Framework Assistant, Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, Roboform ... there were 2 others. I don't use the Yahoo Toolbar. I have Google Toolbar installed but keep it hidden except when I need it (for Page Rank, etc., I work websites).
    But I won't use a browser that doesn't support AI Roboform.
    I honestly love Firefox. I code webpages - .asp, .html and do SEO ... but I don't know the difficulty of writing even a small application. Would it be too difficult to have a small program that would check for these add-on incompatibilities before installing the updates.
    I was impressed with 4.0.1 beta until I realized that opening a new window or tab bogged it down.
    I want Firefox back but not with band-aids and work-around bandages. Is there a version between 4.0.1 and v7 which I tried tonight that would support my plug-ins / add-on. My experience with Firefox using versions up to 3.x has been great. But for months and months I open 4.0.1 and open my TV guide at ZapIt and then I've had to use IE 8 for all my web browsing.
    My most important add-on is for Roboform and 2nd would be for Google Toolbar - but on a scale of 1-10 Roboform is a 10+ and Google Toolbar a 3.
    If this post does not go to the support team at Firefox then how would I go about suggesting an Update Adviser prior to installing an update?
    Anyone with a flexible solution - even short term - that would allow me to see Firefox improvements since the v4 I'm using would be more appreciated than I could ever express.
    Since I've never posted before I'm not even sure how I'll get a response or be able to see any responses. Something during the registration said I could get an email when a reply was posted.
    Thanks again for listening to me whimper and beg for a workable Firefox; I miss it.

  • I am trying to uninstall and reinstall iPhoto 9.5.1

    I have issues exporting a slideshow so found the instructions to uninstall/reinstall posted by Terence Devlin on May 12, 2014.  I used steps 1 and 2c (below) to try and uninstall the iPhoto.app but it remains installed:
    step 1- drag iPhoto.app from applications folder to the trash
    step 2c - older version of iphoto installed from a disk, need additional steps - on 10.7 of later (I have 10.9.2) remove any pkg files with iPhoto in the name from /private/var/db/receipts
    I tried repeating step 1 after step 2c but the iphoto icon remains in the applications folder and is absent from the trash folder.  When I go to the the app store, it says I still have iphoto installed so I cannot download and install it yet.
    Have I missed something in the uninstall process?
    My equipment is:
    21.5 inch iMac, late 2009, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) Mavericks
    I think I orginally installed iPhoto as part of iLife then updated it to iLife 11; recently upgraded to Mavericks and iphoto 9.5.1 which is when I had many of the  slidshow problems already posted by others.  Several others reported that uninstall/reinstall solved the problem.
    Any recommendations?

    . Now my problem is I don't know how to "select" the iphoto icon without opening iphoto.
    Just left-clicking iPhoto once should select it, so that it is highlighted.
    Or right-click (ctrl-click) iPhoto and select "Move to Trash" from the contextual menu.
    On the other hand, my keyboard does not have a real "delete" key, just a backspace key that I normally use. I can't find a keyboard model number and don't see how (in "system preferences" - "keyboard") to invoke the "delete" function.
    The backspace key should double as a "delete" key.  ⌘← should do it.

  • Right way to reinstall OS 9.2.1-9.2.2 update & SAVE OUTLOOK MESSAGES etc

    I have now an original OS 9.2.1 CD to make the reistallation of the system on a Powerbook G3 (Wallsteet 266 Mhz, HD 4Gb) already equipped with 9.2.2.
    - Once having installed the 9.2.1, it's enough to download the 9.2.2 update I see in 'Apple Support', install it, and that is all?
    - In Mac HD>Applications>Apple Extra on my Powerbook there is a folder 'Mac OS 9.2.2 updating', that contains several elements among which 'Update to Mac OS 9.2.2': I opened it and it seems to be what needs to install 9.2.2. Could have it been left there by the people who previously installed it on the computer? Can I use it directly to reinstall 9.2.2?
    - Of course I will backup all my files, but what to do exactly to save my Outlook mail messages (they are thousands) and my Explorer favourites, and what to do exactly to have them available again, once having reinstalled the system?
    - what to do if I want also to import all messages, addresses, accounts, etc, from the Wallstreet to another Powerbook, either in another Outlook or in Entourage or in Mail?

    Assuming you mean Outlook Express, Entourage and later OE versions store their messages, etc, in the Microsoft User Data at the top level of your Documents folder.
    Simply copying that folder, making your new installations, copying MSUD back then Restarting will feed the old data to new configuration... (Please remember, MSUD from the new configuration must be Trashed before the old data can be copied back)
    In Explorer use File>Export Favorites to put them somewhere safe before the update, then pull them back with File>Import Favorites…
    When you want also to import all messages, addresses, accounts, etc, to another Powerbook that depends whether you're simply trying to replace what's on the target Mac with the data from the source Mac, or merge two sets of data.
    To simply replace what's on the target Mac with the data from the source Mac, as above copy the entire MSUD…
    To fully merge two Outlook or Entourage data sets is certainly not possible if the source data contains mugshots or user-defined Categories. Mail and iCal might fully Import OE or Entourage messages and Calendar events but I don't believe Address Book will swallow all their contact details, and you may also be thwarted by other things I don't know about.
    Beside the formal Export-Import method, you can drag and drop Entourage messages, complete mail folders, calendar events and contacts into Finder folders.
    Messages and mail folders can then be dragged into any other open Entourage.
    Calendar events become .ICS files and contacts become .VCF cards which will automatically join Entourage on a new host once they're double clicked open…

  • Tried to reinstall iPhoto library from external hard drive, it shows that the photos and events are there but there are no thumbnails and if you click on an image or video nothing comes up.

    My hard drive crashed recently and we took it to apple to get repaired. The apple employees said that they would have to replace the hard drive but they didn't have the equipment to get the data off my hard drive. So I took it to a computer store who had the right equipment after a month and a half of waiting they finally got all the data off my hard drive and put it on an external hard drive (Seagate Expansion Portable Drive). I then took it back to apple who replaced the hard drive. Now I'm in the process of reinstalling everything. I have never done a Time Machine back up or backed my laptop up to . Which I now will do very often once I've reinstalled everything. I have reinstalled all of my desktop images and folders as well as my iTunes library with no issues. However when i went to reinstall my iPhoto library it came up blank. I then Rebuilt the library several times and this was the result.
    It shows that the photos and events are there but there are no thumbnails and if you click on an image or video nothing comes up.
    Please help i have three years worth of images from holidays on here and would be devastated if i lost them.

    iPhoto cannot find the thumbnails or the original pictures.
    Go to your iPhoto Library in the Pictures Folder.
    Right-click on it and from the resulting menu, choose 'Show Package Contents'.
    This will bring you inside the iPhoto Library package. There you should see a Folder called Masters. Within that, there should be folder containing your actual photos.
    Are they there?

  • I have tried everything! ("service error/reinstall itunes")

    Just for reference, I'm getting 2 error messages (Using Windows XP and iPod color). One, when I try to connect my iPod my PC recognizes it but I get this error message when I open iTunes:
    The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software.
    Then, when I try to install either software update pack for my iPod I get the "iPod Service Error" message.
    I have attempted every solution on this page and NOTHING worked. I've also tried some of the suggestions posted on this message board. I'm trying to be patient, but my next-to-new iPod is now almost entirely useless. Oh, and now that I've attempted to install iTunes 5, it won't let me revert to the earlier version of iTunes on the CD that came with my iPod.
    Does anyone know if Apple is even planning to provide a fix for this?? I haven't seen so much as an announcement... considering all the errors Windows users have been having, you'd think they'd take down the Windows iTunes download link and fix the problem sharpish.
    iTunes / iPod were working perfectly on this computer before I upgraded to iTunes 5. Please help!

    The old adage of "don't try to fix it if it isn't broken" is highly relevant in this area!
    I think that's fair in most cases, but I'm of the opinion that something released officially by Apple (and not in Beta) should work. Especially when I paid them $400 for a piece of equipment that is more or less useless without it.
    It's just absurd to me that they could release something that has a number of serious problems, and not all of them easily fixable. And, on top of that, not even addressing the problem or giving us any avenue of live support. I don't have the time to go scrolling all the message boards and help topics in search of an answer... it should have worked in the first place. My iPod is less than a month old, and I can't even update it. Unacceptable.
    That said, I've definitely learned my lesson with Apple's updates and will certainly follow your recommendation in the future.
    Oh, and yeah I tried the clean uninstall too. Got rid of everything AND the kitchen sink. Quicktime too. Reinstalled from iTunes website... no. Clean unstall again. Reinstalled from Quicktime website... still no go. Tried everything on that help article I linked to above. Tried to reinstall older iTunes. Tried to update iPod software. Tried to reinstall older iPod software. Tried starting and stopping all processes/applications that anyone mentioned on the message boards. Made sure my Windows XP had installed all updates.
    I'm about to go mad.

  • OS X Mountain Lion Recovery - reinstall failed with erase reinstall

    iMac mid-2007 Mac OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2. Grey screen on start up (day before got three messages that HP printer software update was available but no software could be found when I tried to update. Other than that iMac was working fine the day before).
    Did all steps recommended for Grey Screen on Start Up and did not fix it. Used Command R - Disk Utility to try to repair the hard drive. Disk Utility said it could not repair the disk, to back up files and reformat the disk. From the Recovery System menu, selected Disk Utility - Erase to erase hard drive. Erase worked. Quit Disk Utility. Selected Reinstall Mac OS X from the Recovery System menu. System says "downloading additional components" and it will take 3 hours to download, even though we have highspeed broadband (Comcast) internet. Left it to continue overnight. Came back in the a.m. and giant warning message says Reinstall Failed-Contact Software Manufacturer or Restart to Try Again. Restart said Disk Utility could not repair the hard drive. Disk Utility said hard drive was unmounted and Mount would not mount it.
    Shut down and started again with Command R. Used Disk Utility - Erase to erase the hard drive again. Erase seemed to work again. Hard drive mounted. Quit Disk Utility and selected Reinstall Mac OS X from the Recovery System menu. Once again waiting an estimated 2 1/2 hours for additional components to download.
    Am I missing something? If it fails again this time, is there anything else I can do or must I take it in to be repaired (no longer covered under Apple Care Protection Plan due to age of iMac).

    Well, if Disk Utility cannot repair the drive, one other option is to use Disk Warrior ($$). That would mean having to boot from their CD or having it installed on an external bootable clone and trying it from there. But, I'm guessing that your hard drive is about to fail (permanently) - nothing to do with the software.
    You might want to consider making an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar - help there is free unless you need a repair or hard drive replacement - you'd need to pay for that of course. But at least you'd get their diagnosis; they have better testing equipment that a consumer has access to.

    Since the old MBP is dead the only option is to remove the hard drive and use a SATA/IDE to USB adapter to get all your stuff off the old drive.
    One note though make sure you use the same user name and passord on your new MBP as you had on the old one.
    As to software hopefully you have all the license information written down other wise you may have a hard time reinstalling some of it. Also be aware that OS X Lion will not run older PPC software. So if you have older programs that used Rosetta to run it will not run on Lion.

  • InDesign CS4 Server serialisation

    Hi guys,
    I'm installing a InDesign CS4 Server on Windows 2003 Server for Small Business Server, Service Pack 2. 4Gb available on C:drive,Intel Xeon 3.2Ghz, 4Gb Ram
    The machine had InDesign CS3 Server installed previously.
    1. Uninstalled InDesign CS3 Server
    2. Rebooted Machine.
    3. Installed CS4 Server
    4. Installed latest Rapid Release
    5. Setup Win Service
    and wondered why I wasn't prompted for the serial number at start of install. (ok, I hear you... should have read the read-me file first to see if anything in the installation process had changed...).
    So I stopped the ID-Service and then ran the command-line serialisation at this point.
    Checked in TaskManager no ID Server was running.
    However the serialisation hangs after:

    That looks correct - InDesignServer is up & running, waiting for commands, or a control-c to quit.
    InDesignServer.com is a shell app which launches InDesignServer.exe, so having both processes active is correct.
    Once you have successfully serialized (as it appears you have), you should be able to restart either via the Windows service or at the command line without the '-serialnumber' parameter.
