HI GURUS,
I am having doubt on release strategy.
im configuring workflow for release strategy,after PR
Raised it should go to user inbox to whom i assigned.
the release strategy is overall release.here my problem is workflow is not triggering after i raised the PR.
I WANT THE MM SETTING FOR OVERALL RELEASE STRATEGY WITH WORKFLOW.
PL'S HELP ME ITS URGENT.

Please check the configuration for Release groups (Path SPRO->Materials Management->Purchasing->Purchase Requisition->Release Procedure->Procedure with Classification->Set up Procedure with Classification->Release Groups). In this, you should check 'OverReqRel'.
Check if you are using workflow template WS20000077 (Workflow for overall release of requisition) with object type 'BUS2105'.
Workflow template WS00000038 (Workflow for requisition release) with object type 'BUS2009', is used for releasing at the item level.

Release procedure problem

Hi Gurus,
          I created a release procedure for PO. i created a single chs based on total amount of PO and assigned it to a single class. then configured it for 5 release codes. all the simulation is working fine.
          But when I created the PO worth of 6 laks, which is above the level of last release code >=5 laks. when i go for release in ME29N or ME28 its giving an information message saying "document is not applicable for release procedure. in ME28 i am getting "message no documents found" for my release code and release group combination.
          Where should i have gone wrong. give me some suggestions.

Hi,
Your Maximum amount of PO which is applicable for release strategy is 5 Lakhs for your last release code.
Now if you create the PO for 6 lakhs then how the system will consider the release strategy.
Thats why you will not find the same in ME29N or ME28 to release the PO.
So you need to change your Characteristics value for last release code from = 5 lakhs to >= 5lakhs.
then system will consider the release str for any value above 5 lakhs for that last release code,

At most you can get report for PO creation date & (Release Grp, Release indicator, Release Str, Release Status)...

RELEASE STRATAGY IN CONTRACT

Dear Experts,
We are having release stratagy for purchase orders as
1.purchase organisation
2.purchasing group
3.total net order value
Same pattern we are going to adopt per contracts also.
we are creating value contracts.
As per my knowledge nothing is required to trigger release stratagy.same procedure will work.
please brief if any thing required to trigger.

Contract and PO

Dear Seniors,
I had set release procedure already for contract and purchase order. Whenever i do po w.r.to contract, i have to release both contract and PO to do GRN. For example, consider vendor X and Y, i have contract for these 2 vendors and i have released that contract too. When i raise PO w.r.to that contract with vendor X and Y, it should not ask for release. How could i set that and where can i do that particularly for that two vendor X and Y? For remaining vendors, it should ask for release at PO level also. kindly suggest me please.

Hi Jana ,
You can create charcteristic for Vendor in release stragtegy for PO , but here u have to use Vendors for which Release Str is required. So this would be too hectic .
Alternate Solution :
Create a new document type for PO created through Contract for those 2 Vendors.
Exclude this document type in release procedure of PO.
Note : This would be advisable if u create more PO's against the contract otherwise it would be better to go with ur earlier release procedure.

The part that jumps out at me is here:

I may be wrong (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am) but I don't think you want to release strkey and valstr in this situation. By general rule you don't want to release something you didn't alloc - instead you simply assigned them to other variables. And since this interacts with Dictionary and you're releasing it could this be causing your problem downstream?

Ideally NO but yes if your business need ask for it,
you should have release str in place. and Value should be one of your characteristics in Rel str
PR should be changed only on higher side
notification should be triggered to Buyer in case PR gets approved so that Buyer can take appropriate action on earlier created PO with ref to PR
If there is NO release str, then look for some enhancement which will trigger notification to buyer so that Buyer can take appropriate action on earlier created PO with ref to PR
If you donot want user to change the PR , then put validation
if PR status (EBAN-STATU) = B , then give POP- UP message as Error so that it will restrict user to make the changes in PR

Regarding Memory leak

Hi all,
I want to know if following makes some leak.
NSString *str;
@property(nonatomic,retain) NSString *str;
@synthesize str;
- (void) printVal:(NSString *str1)
Calling as
printVal(str);
I want to know do i need to release str1 or is there any memory leak related to str1 within printVal() function for following cases:
1) 'str' is allocated value as
str = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"sampleText"];
2) 'str' is allocated value as
str = @"sampleText"

I'm not an expert on memory management so maybe someone else can correct me. I don't think you'll need to release str1 however, you do need to release str because you "retain"ed it (which you may already do elsewhere not shown).

Planned Order to STR Conversion - incorrect Valuation Price

Hi Experts
Not sure if you've encountered this before:-
Material A in Requesting Plant has Valuation Price of USD10.
Material A in Supplying Plant has Valuation Price of USD20.
Material A is planned through MRP in Requesting Plant with Planned Order as the output.
When Planned Order is converted into STR (MD14/MD15), the Valuation Price appearing in the STR picks up USD10 (from Requesting Plant), even though Supplying Plant is correctly defaulted in the STR.
Any idea on the above?
Another observation - for the same STR created, if the Supplying Plant is cleared in Change Mode (ME52N), system will reassign the supplying plant accordingly, and the Supplying Plant (USD20) is now correctly updated into the STR.

the valuation price of a purchase requisition is always copied from material master valuation view of the ordering plant.
there is no difference for requisition that is used for a stock transfer order to a sister plant, compared to a requisition that is used to purchase from an external vendor. It would be very confusing if SAP has a logic break within.
the valuation is used for release strategy.
most requisitions do not know from where they will be fullfilled, source determination is not mandatory in requisition creation process. this is the usual task of purchasing department. Hence the requisition can only know the valuation price of its own plant.

New release strategy should not trgger for PO released with old Rel Strategy

Hi All,
Please suggest. Po has been fully released with Release Strtgy V1 XX. Now I m replacing release strategy XX with ZZ. If I change any po which has old rel str XX , system will reset new release strategy as in config changeability indicator 4 maintained.
But requirement is if there is any change or value decreasing in fully released Pos with old strategy it should not retrigger new release strategy. If value Increases then New strategy should retrigger.
Please help me on this.

A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
       - the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
          case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
          another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
          quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
       - the document is still subject to the previous release
          strategy,
       - the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The most important thing to consider in to avoid changes to release strategy customizing once the release strategy is used.
The commom steps are:
1- make sure all of the old POs should have been released.
2- don't delete/change the original release strategy. create a new release strategy with copy function, then the old release strategy will not be replaced.
3- if you delete the original release strategy and add a new release strategy which the characteristics in classification is same as old release strategy then the PO (have been approved) will be replaced with the new release strategy.

Overall release of PR in Release Strategy

I have created item-wise release of PR using with Classification of Rel Str.
But when I am creating overall release of PR I am not getting the tab.
I made settings in Rel Gp screen (ticked te check box for overall rel) & also ticked the check box in the document type of PR.

Am confused. You wrote 'Have created item-wise release strategy' and also asking 'Overall release'.
If you have "made settings in Rel Gp screen (ticked te check box for overall rel) & also ticked the check box in the document type of PR", then you have configured Overall release.
If PR does not get release strategy tab at header, it could be due to incomplete release strategies. No release strategy might have been triggered for your PR data. Do you see release strategy tab at item level ?

Why we Maintain the data in Trxn # CL20N / CL24N for Release Strategy ?

Dear All Gurus,
Please resolve my Query , that during maintaining the Release strategy for a P.O , i used to create characteristics for defined values such as plant , currency , doc. type etc, then creating class and assigning these characterstics with this class created.
Now after this i had create Release Group , Release Code and Release Strategy and assigned the Rel. Code with the Rel . Str and in Classification tab i had manually mentioned all those created Characterstics in CT04 and finally saved this Process.
Till now i had not at all made any entry in Trxn # cl20n.
But when i had create a P.O with all the values as same as defined in characteristsc , the Rel Str got triggered succesfully.
My Question is that , what is the use of mainiating data in Trxn # CL20N & CL24N ?
Please clarify my doubt.

it is just another way to maintain the same thing in the same tables. Classification notspecific to release strategies, materials and batches, vendors and customers can be classified too.
You can do this from withion those objects, or from the central classification menu using the classification transactions.
People here recommending this for production system after you have transported the strategy from developement to production. Becaues classification is master data and cannot be transported the usual way. And many here do not know how this can be done with ALE

PR Release Strategy for Account assignment cat "U"

Is it possible to set up release strategy for Acct assignment Cat "U" - if yes, How would it be configured? additionally we are also setting up Rel str for acct assign cat K and A - specific question is relative to "U" in addition to K and A.
Other parameters being used are
pur Org
Doc type
cost center
Total value

Dear Raj,
When you creating PR with acct assignment U, the acct. assignment tab will not appear, thus
you not able to enter cost center. You may try this workaround via customizing.
a) You may define a <BLANK> value for the cost center in customizing and assign it to your release strategy.
Characteristic:
Cost Center:
Value    Desc:
1000     1000
2000      2000
                <BLANK>
b) You may use user exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_001 and pass the dummy cost center to get the release strategy
determine.

But i'm unable to update the table EKKO before my code is executed.
Here i need Rel. gr(FRGGR),
            Rel Str.(FRGSX),
            Rel Indicator(FRGKE),
            subject to release(FRGRL) AND
            Rel Status(FRGZU) from table EKKO to check whether the PO is Blocked or Released.
Based on the values got from the table EKKO, i need pick email ids from ZTable which stores Email Ids.
I'm able to get the PO no which is currently genereated and i need to pass this PO no. to table EKKO to get the above fields.
But Table EKKO is updating in the database after the execution of my code.
What do i need to do to get table EKKO updated in the database before my code is executed.
