Tengo la version ilustrador cs para windows xp, anteriormente podia rellenar o agregar color a un bmp o bitmap en las versiones anteriores de ilustrador, como le puedo hacer ahora con la nueva version

Seleccionar la imagen y pulsar sobre un color de la paleta de Muestras debería funcionar, prueba si no a añadir un relleno en el menú de la paleta de Apariencia, modifica su opacidad y modo de fusión en la paleta de Transpariencia.

Another question, please : I still have a little doubt with terms (I'm french and my english is not perfect). If I request a platform swap for Illustrator CS6, the new platform product still will be a CS6 ? Because switch to the new version CC would be as if I hadn't yet bought a licence (a subscription would mean pay twice...).

I keep getting error messages when trying to install the free trial of Illustrator with windows server 2008 platform. Is this not an approved OS?

You can't use AI in a server environment. That would violate the EULA. Single user only.
Not true. Local installs and usage do not in any way collide with the EULA even on a server OS. He said nothing about provisioning or setting it up for remote users.

Why does Illustrator on Windows 7, 64bit, take 30seconds+ to save a simple image?

Why does Illustrator on Windows 7, 64bit, take 30seconds+ to save a simple image comprising of two rectangles only (screen shot below)? I set up a document like this to test the speed, since I've been having trouble saving all documents - they hang, sometimes with the 'this program is not responding' message. Switching to CC is not an option.
If it helps, I can come down to the Adobe San Francisco office with my computer. I've spent a long time trying to resolve this without success.
Btw, Photoshop CS6 saves fine.

There is no "Libraries" in my Adobe CC Illustrator's "Window" panels.

There is no "Libraries" in my Adobe CC Illustrator's "Window" panels. There are "Brush", "Graphic", "Swatch" and Symbol Libraries at the bottom of the Window Tab. The Adobe shapes overview assumes it's there. Where do I access the Libraries Panel? We have a cloud corporate account. Does that have something to do with it?

It takes an act of Congress to get our IT dept. to update anything much less re-install something. I will try. I do know it's the latest version of CC. So I'm baffled that the menus would not display appropriately.

Placed bitmaps in Illustrator from Photoshop have different colour breakdown?

When I place a bitmap in illustrator from Photoshop the colour breakdown changes. In photoshop, it could be set up using a 100% Solid black using CMY 0% and K100% but when I place this in illustrator the breakdown changes to say C:78.89%, M:80.45%, Y:88.90% K:90.45%.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it?

You cannot read the exact color values of a placed bitmap in Illustrator, you have to open the imaeg in photoshop. Never use SHIFT eyedropper if you desire color accuracy.
To prove this to yourself, you can use seperations preview to verify there is no CMY in your placed image, or print seperations to a laser printer.
Below are the values I get using shift eyedropper.
But look there is no CMY.

Problems with saving in Illustrator CS3 - Windows

I'm using Illustrator CS3, Windows XP. Even the smallest files take a very long time to save. I try to save and it initally appears as if nothing is happening. If I click again, a portion of my screen goes white and the hour glass sits for what feels like forever while "Not responding" appears next to Illustrator in the bar. Eventually it finishes. Have run into the same problem with PhotoShop a couple times as well. Seems to have started after my upgrade to CS3. Can anyone help?

Solutions are (depending on the problem severity):
1. Make more layers (even for the same kind of objects, especially for texts)
2. Use RAID 5 disks for scratch files (VelocyRaptor is the best choice)
3. Use i-RAM for scratch files (if the project not too big)
4. Use RIndMA disk (http://hardwareforall.com/ww/serverRAMdisk.html) for scratch files

Issue opening or creating new files in illustrator CS5 windows 7 64bit, program becomes "Not Responding" when opening a file.
I had recently tried a trial version of FontExplorer Pro X, and this issue has come up after the Uninstallation of that program. Any suggestions?

Check for ant third party plugin in the plugin folder....?

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Warning symbol unicode U 26A0 / Alt 9888 can't display in Illustrator on Windows 7?

Hello all, I am an IT professional trying to help some mac users migrate to PC at our workplace.
Aside from some fonts that are missing, our major problem in moving operating systems is that our PC users are unable to use the warning sign symbol, which should be part of Arial Unicode MS font that is installed on Windows. I am able to type the exclamation point using alt and the numbers, or alt + and the 26A0 and have it appear in nearly all programs except for the creative cloud ones.
Our designers really need this caution symbol. I noticed that on mac os the system seems to pull this symbol from "AppleSymbols" font. There has to be some way to render it in Illustrator on Windows 7. When I use the key shortcuts in adobe programs I get an X'ed box. The same shortcuts render just fine in other programs not part of the adobe family. I really would appreciate input on this issue as it's a little over my head seeing as I know next to nothing about the Adobe applications.
I should note that obviously the mac users have no issue using this character.

Moving around illustrator canvas/window

I'm having a hard time dragging the illustrator canvas/window when it goes behind the Application Bar/Control panel. Is there a keyboard+mouse command for dragging the window at any point on the window?

Illustrator cs6 windows 7 64 bit, When trying to move text the arrow automaticaly turns into the text tool and trying to move a vector object the arrow will not gather the object and when I finley get it gathered I have to move it with my arrows on my keyboard. what is going on?

I take it you have all layers visible at the same time. The rendering was just an (obviously irrelevant) example of what might eat time (if you make a layer visible, things like complicated blends and live effects (Drop Shadows or whatever) may take a bit of time to appear).
With that ruled out, some description of the artwork may (still) be useful.

Previewing imported bitmaps for Illustrator CS4 using Windows XP

Hi all
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to preview a bitmap while importing it into Illustrator CS4 (File>Place). I am using Windows XP SP3 and I know you can see a preview on bitmaps with the Mac version.

Some general comments (when I used CS3 and WinXp I did not have any problems, now I am on Win7 64bit Pro and CS5)
Check your WinXp configuration and eliminate (not remove, just stop from running at startup) anything you don't really need
Background programs can cause problems for video editing
The usual advice is to disable anti-virus (and, of course, don't connect to the Internet) to reduce the drain on resources
Also do not have other programs YOU start running, so PPro has 100% of the computer's attention & resources
Be sure you have a good device driver for your nVidia card
This is usually the latest one (direct from nVidia, not Windows update) but you MAY need to experiment with driver versions in case a later version does not work well

CS5 is much better at allowing different kinds of files in a project, I'm not so sure about earlier versions
If your final output is going to be DVD what MAY help is to do only the HDV part, save out to DV AVI Widescreen, then do the other codecs in a separate project, and finally join the DV AVI files in a final project
CS4 is 32bit so will not take FULL advantage of Win7 and a 64bit computer... but if you have enough memory (I would say 12 or 16 Gig, depending on motherboard) that will allow CS4 to use as much ram as possible

My 3 hard drives are configured as... (WD = Western Digital)
1 - 320G WD Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and video project files
3 - 1T WD all video files... input & output files
