Remote Control crashes randomly with memory error
During authentication, but most usually during disconnection Remote Control (using Consoleone) will crash with the following error:
RCConsole.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x10002834" referenced memory at "0x0000000c". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
OK Cancel
I tries searching Google and a few other engines with no luck, has anyone seen this before?
The only time that I've seen the error that's listed below is from running ConsoleOne from a UNC path. Try copying all files and folders from \\servername\SYS\PUBLIC\mgmt\ConsoleOne\1.2 to c:\1.2, and then try running c:\1.2\bin\consoleone.exe. Doing so has fixed this error for me in the past

IPod Classic Crashes randomly with ntdll.dll error
Sometimes when I plug-in my 120GB iPod Classic, iTunes would crash, giving me a ntdll.dll error, and I would need to unplug my iPod classic before it would allow iTunes to start again. Upon disconnect, the iPod will try to restart and then it would unsuccessfully do so, and then it would reboot and tell me to restore via iTunes. After I plug it back in, the iPod would restore fine. It seems that if I don't sync my iPod for a couple of days, the possibility of this error happening is most likely, versus if I plugged it in consistently every day.
I have had this issue for quite a while here are the steps that I've taken to try to mediate this issue:
-Switched iPod twice with Apple Store
-Tried the sync on two different computers with completely different hardware (but windows 7 on both)
-Made a new iTunes library
-Search the support forums/google
-Tried various cables
Here is the error logs from the most recent crash:
Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 9.0.3.15, time stamp: 0x4b590a69

Any help would be appreciated!OK So I sync'd it this afternoon and in the evening, I plugged it in again, and this time it caused iTunes to crash with this error:

Macbook Pro Mid-2010 Crashing Randomly with Mavericks?
Hey gang,
I recently upgraded to Mavericks right after purchasing a used Macbook Pro mid-2010. However, more frequently, the laptop has been crashing randomly, and it does not matter which programs/apps are running when it does. Below is the latest crash report. I am looking for help to avoid the nonsense of having to deal with the Genius Bar if at all possible.
If anyone could help me out and lend a helping hand as to what's causing the problem and how to fix it, I would be eternally grateful! Thanks so much.

Hi!
I've got a new 27" iMac (late 2013), and I was going to install Windows 8.1 (64-bit) to be able to play a few games.
Everything went smoothly (installed normally via Boot Camp Assistant), and after the Windows setup, the Boot Camp drivers needed to be installed. After this, the computer rebooted, but crashed at a blue screen with the error called "kernel_security_check_failure".
It rebooted a few times on its own, but after a few times, I got some options, and I chose to "refresh" the Windows 8 install, meaning it would reset the install while keeping my files (even though I didn't have any, as I never got to use it). This took some time, but it worked, and it booted into W8.
The Boot Camp drivers had been removed though, so I had to reinstall them. After they had reinstalled, the computer rebooted and the same blue screen with the same error hit me.
Something tells me that some of the BC drivers are messing things up. I can't find any information on this elsewhere.
Would it be possible to install only selected drivers, to eventually find out which driver is causing the problem?
All help is greatly appreciated!I finally gave up, reloaded everything, this time, using WIn 8.1 Pro, not Enterprise. After I did the updates, patches, Norton 360, shut computer down and connected the external drives, and booted up...and got the BSOD. This time, I went to Microsoft and downloaded the Windows Debugger, and think I may have found the problem...NORTON!
Probably caused by : SYMDS64.SYS ( SYMDS64+71be6 )
Am conrtacting them, but, here's the Debugger output:
Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.3.9600.17029 AMD64

Zcm11 remote control crashes?
We started a ZCM rollout. Currently doing live testing in 1 building. The clients are XP SP3 and server is ZCM11 on OES Linux. I have noticed a problem with remote control after remoting into a workstation and logging on to the workstation i loose connection of remote (it just sits there, it doesn't kick me out or close). if I close it and try to reconnect I am unable to establish a new session. however the computer is on and running. from observation it appears as those the ZCM client is crashing after login (icon disapppears from the task tray). but no errors are logged. a reboot of the workstation renables remote control but that is not a solution as it requires someone onsite.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any troubleshooting tips?
Thanks,
AaronYes, agent is on update 2a.

I have an install of Windows Server 2008 (32bit) with SRSS 4.2 & SRWC 2.2 setup. I was previously on SRSS 4.1 & SRWC 2.1 and having the same issue I am having now, which to me tells me this problem is unresolved or i'm being a total muppet. (hopefully not the last one)
Windows Terminal Server environments has this awesome remote control feature where you can login to an RDP session which is already active and take control of the session while the end user is still logged in.With Server 2003 this works perfectly fine- it's brilliant. WIth 2008 it is a nightmare. It works for a split second and then closes off. The end users session also gets locked out (not logged out) and they have to put their windows credentials in to carry on working again.
Now... I can remote control users who are logging in via Remote Desktop on Windows XP/Vista etc.. but I can't with the Sun Ray Sessions. Does the SRWC 2.2 fully compatible with RDP 6.1 or is there any information anyone can give me to point me in the right direction of resolving this issue, like I said.. Win 2k3- Works like a dream....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
- Joe.I just realised I hadn't posted the logs from SRSS Server with the issues. I have just tried on another WIN2K8 Server which wasn't configured by myself or my company and the same symptoms occurred. See logs below:

1.6.0u18 on x86_64 Linux crashes immediately with OutOfMemory error
Hi,
I'm having a problem with the latest update of the JDK where all the binaries crash immediately with the following error:
# ./java
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
# java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested 64 bytes for char in /BUILD_AREA/jdk6_18/hotspot/src/share/vm/runtime/thread.cpp. Out of swap space?

AbortedThis is on a 64-bit CentOS 5.4 machine:

And it's definitely not out of swap space:
# free -g

I tried both the JDK and the JRE distributions, same problem. The 32-bit JDK works just fine.
Any ideas?
ThanksI have the vm ulimit set to 16 gigs:
# ulimit -d -v
data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) 16777216It does seem to work if I remove the limit.
With the limit, specifying a max heap size manually works, and it correctly reports trying to set the heap size too high, but there seems to be a range of sizes close to the maximum that throws the error:

I have a v880 that is getting many corrected memory errors. Should I be concerned about this? Should I get the memory replaced? What are my options?
As this is a V880, I would hope that the server is still under a support contract with Sun, in which case yes it would be a good idea to open a support case with them. Even if the dimms do not need replaced they can log the events for you which helps your support on this server in the future, should you get further issues.
But, back to business. What I would do is to pass the server through maximum diagnostics a few times and check the outputs for reported dimm errors.
Other than that you might like to give us a little bit more information, such as the following:
1. The errors from the /var/adm/messages file
2. The output from prtdiag -v
3. An indication of if the server is crashing with these errors and if so if any crash dumps are being created. -
Remote Control does work with Sylvania Color TV/DVD Model 6520FDF
I cannot get the remote control to work the volume on a Sylvania Color TV/DVD Model 6520FDF TV. Can anybody help me?
Have you tried the scan mode to scan for the proper code?
TV/DVD combo units are notoriously hard to program to universal remotes. So if you did a scan and none of them worked then the likelihood is that the remote just will not work with that unit. If you have not tried a scan, here is the instructions to do so.
WHAT IF NONE OF THE CODES WORKED?
If none of the codes worked, try the following procedure. (As before, we will use the example of a TV. For other devices use the appropriate Device Key instead of the TV key in step 2 and 3.) 1. Turn on your TV.
2. Press and hold the TV key.
3. While holding down the TV key, press OK. 4. Release both keys. The Device Keys will blink twice.5. Press 9 - 2 - 2. 6. Point the remote at the TV.
7. Press PLAY.8. Press FASTFORWARD (FF). Every time you press FF the remote sends out a new power-off command to the TV. Keep pressing FF until the TV turns off. (You can press REWIND to go back.) 9. When the TV turns off, you have found the right code. Press OK to store this code. Note: There are over 300 TV and DVD codes. The most common codes are tried first, but you may still need to press over 300 times to find the right code. If you reach the end of the list of codes the entire remote will flash twice and return to normal operation. You can exit programming at any time by pressing Exit.

What remote controls will work with the iMac 27inch.
Okay I hung the new iMac on the wall in my kitchen. Used the apple adapter I have a little apple remote control that works the dvd player fine. Of course the wireless keyboard and the wireless mouse work fine. I have an elgato tuner because this iMac is my dvr/tv does anyone have a remote that will work the iMac as a dvd and work the elgato hybrid tuner. Just trying to make this simple. Thanks
iTunes itself, that is it's built-in remote speaker function, will work only with an Airport Express. There may be other wireless speakers that have their own drivers or transmitter; someone else here may be able to make a recommendation.

Will remote control earphones work with the nano 5th gen?
I've been trying to figure out if the remote control earphones will work with the 5th generation nano. It doesn't look like it comes with it, which is very sad, so I'm wondering if it would be worth it to buy it separately. Does anyone know if you can still use it to change songs and volume etc. on the nano? Please help!
Good to know! Thank you very much

Why is remote control not included with the purchase of macbook pro
I purchased my 4th macbook pro (late 2013) to replace my 2010model, and to my surprise, there was no remote control included anymore. I don't know since when this started. But I just don't get that, why Apple has to cut corner on such expensive laptops with a price tag close to 3000usd(after tax). I have purchased three macbook pro before including the 2010 model. I found no remote control to be a big disappointment. I am not asking Apple to make anything cheap. But they should have treated generous customers with generosity.
Follow this;
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH7234
Will allow you to disable the IR receiver on the Mac so the remote does not control it.

Remote control not starting with window
Hi there
I have a X-Fi? sound card, with a remote control... I just want it to start with windows, but if I check " Acti'vete the RC when Windows Starts" , I still have to do it manually...
I've already tried to reinstall entertainment center, but it has no longer effects on it.
Do you know what I have to do ?
What kind of registry key should I add to get it automatically ?
Or, at least, what kind of shortcut do i have to put in "start" directory ?
Lots of questions, just problem
P.s. : sorry for my english speakingI had to go through this process when an iCloud shared photostream would not display on the Apple TV screensaver.
Two easy solutions.
When you press the Menu button, does the Apple TV light blink? If not, go to the Second option below.
If yes, begin with the First option below.
First option:
Reboot Apple TV. Hold down the Menu button and the Down button at the same time until the light blinks, then unplug the device for six seconds, and plug it back in.
After the Apple TV reboots, see if your remote is working. If not, continue to the second option.
Second option:
Un-pair the remote, then re-pair the remote.
To un-pair it, hold down the Menu button and the Left button at the same time until an icon appears on the screen showing a remote with two cloud-like icons. That means the remote is un-paired.
To re-pair the remote - or to pair it with the Apple TV for the first time - hold down the Menu button and the Right button at the same time. It should pair with the Apple TV almost immediately.
Both options have worked for me, when occasional Apple TV issues happen. -
VMs crashing randomly with no dump file
Hi all,
I have 11 Windows Server 2008 R2 standard with SP1 VMs sitting on 2 Win Serv 2008 physical servers that keep crashing randomly, nothing on the events logs that can help.
The reboot happen very randomly but always around 12:30AM, I checked the logs on the physical server but couldn't find anything.
Any idea ?
ThanksOr anti-malware scan?
If you run programs in the management operating system, you should run your antivirus solution there and add the following to the antivirus exclusions:
Virtual machine configuration files directory. By default, it is C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V.
Virtual machine virtual hard disk files directory. By default, it is C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual Hard Disks.
Snapshot files directory. By default, it is %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V\Snapshots.
