Remote Process Chains Source Systems mapping issues

Hi,
We have a process chain in APO system, which upon success calls another process chain in BW.   We recently implemented SCM5/BI7, and taking the advantage of remote chains functionality to call the BW chain from APO.
However, when we transported the APO process chain from DEV to QA, the source systems in the remote chain are still pointing to DEV systems.   We were expecting to see both APO and BW source systems getting switched from DEV to QA.
We have already verified the logical mappings for Sources Systems are in place under RSA1 | Transport Connect | Conversion.   Also,  the source systems seem to map correctly for other objects like data sources etc..   Only issue is with the remote chain.
Is there any other setting which need to be set to make it work.   Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ravi Chitluru.

Ravi,
I have a similar situation. Can you explain how to run process chains in APO which can gets data from BW cubes, which in turn gets data from R/3.
In this equation R/3->BW->APO, what are the options like 1)run process chains in BW system to pull data from R/3 into BW and run process chains to load BW data into APO 2)run remote process chains to pull data from R/3 into APO(of course via BW).

  • Source System Conversion in Remote Process Chain

    Hi all!
I' working with BI7 SP12 and facing the following problem:
<b>There is no source system conversion for Remote Process Chains, when transporting Process Chains with Remote Process Chains from DEV to QA.</b>
    First the following warning appears:
DEV-Destination of Remote Process Chain does not exist on QA-System.
==> The is correct because the DEV-Destination should have been converted to QA-Destination.
    Then the following error appears:
Process Chain with the Remote Process Chain was not succesfully checked.
<b>All source system conversion tables are maintained correctly!</b>
The source system conversion works for example for InfoPackages correctly.
But for Remote Process Chain there is neither source system conversion for the Destination nor for Callback Destination. Both should be converted.
Do I have to do it manually??
Or do I have to create the DEV-Destination in SM59 on the QA-System??
==> We want to avoid this...
    Thanks for any ideas...
    kj

    Please note:
When I create the DEV-Destination in SM59 on the QA-System,
the transport gets no warnings and no errors...
But there is still no conversion of the source systems for the Destination and the Callback Destination of the Remote Process Chain to QA-Destinations...
    So, i think:
There is no automatic source system conversion of Remote Process Chains and I have to adjust it manually in the QA-System...

  • Error when trying to add remote process chain related to some other system.

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to add process chain related to some other system in BW production through remote process chain but i am getting the issue " :RSM:918 YCPG_WEEK_GESPL_BW APO_DP_RTR DEFINITION 23" while checking or activating the same.i am able to add successfully in quality environment but getting the issue in only in production..I just tried to add some other chains too but i am getting same error for other chains which are related to same system.this means issue is present for all the chains related to that system.
Can you please help me how to resolve the above as it is very urgent for me?.
    waiting for oyur response.
    Thanks,
    Nani

    Hi,
Connection is working fine.we already checked RFC connection earlier itself.we have not find the same issue in quality environment i.e when we try to trigger same chain in corresponding quality environment it's working fine.where as when we are trying to checking/activate the same chain in production through remote process we are getting the above issue.
Please help me to resolve the issue.
    Thanks,

  • How to run remote process chain asynchronous?

    Hi,
I have a situation where I would like to call a remote process chain asynchronous insted of the usual synchronous way.
    The docs on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/86/6ff03b166c8d66e10000000a11402f/content.htm
states that: <i>The remote process transfers the communication with the other system and <b>synchronously</b> starts the executed process chain</i>.
...but since I don't want it to be synchronous, I am looking for other ideas...
    Best regards,
    Christian Frier

I found that it did not work tried to trigger the event on a remote system.
If I call BP_EVENT_RAISE I can trigger an event and thereby start a process chain on my source system (local). If I specify TARGET_INSTANCE nothing seems to happen in the remote system...
Also I cannot call BP_EVENT_RAISE with RFC as it is not remote enabled.
It think the solution is to trigger a local chain that takes care of starting the remote chain. The net effect is that it is asynchronous.

  • REG: Remote Process chain

    Hi Gurus,
    I've a requirement that:
In SAP R/3 system user enters data for the planning and saves the data through a transaction code. Then i need to get the data into BI automatically, which ever the data user enters.
Please tell me whether i can use the remote process chain, if yes, please tell how can i achieve this.
or is there any other method to achieve this.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Ravi......
Remote Process chain is a different concept..........u don't need that.........
    Check this.........
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/86/6ff03b166c8d66e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Look ..........what u need to do is to simply schedule a process chain.........which will automatically load data from R/3 to the BI.........When users enter data............they will be saved in some table..........either u can use Standard datasource .........if available..........otherwise u create Generic datasource(RSO2)..........and schedule the load........
To automate the Process..........either u create an Event based chain..........or a Time based chain......
To schedule a Event based process chain....
    1) First create an Event in SM62...
    2) Then Create a Job in SM36......In the first screen give the Job name >> Enter >> Then in the ABAP Program name : BTC_EVENT_RAISE...and in the varian name give the Event name that u hav created...save it and come out..
    3) Then scedule the Job for a particular time ............for this ..click on the Start Condition tab >> Date/Time.....here give the date on which for the first time this job is going to run and the time...as per ur requirement......Click on Periodic Values tab....there give how frequent u want the job to run....Daily..Weekly...or Monthly...
When this job will run ....it will raise the Event....Now Maintain this event as the Start condition of the First Process chain.......To do this............open the chain in Planning mode..........u can open the chain using the tcode : RSPC1 >> Right click on the Start process >> Display Variant >> Click on After Event..........there u maintain the event name...........So whenever this job will run...it will raise the event...and this event in turn will trigger the chain...........
To Schedule a Time based process chain.......
Open the chain in Planning mode..........u>> Right click on the Start process >> Display Variant >> Click on Date/Time..............here give the date on which for the first time this job is going to run and the time...as per ur requirement......Click on Periodic Values tab....there give how frequent u want the job to run....Daily..Weekly...or Monthly...
    Hope this helps.......

  • Error in adding remote process chain to existing one

    Hi all,
when I try to add an remote process chain to an existing one I get an error. I created a variant for the remote call. I entered the destination and when I try to choose the remote process chain I get the following error:
Error in remote call of destination
The following error occurred during the remote function call for destination XY:
Dynproausgabe ohne Verbindung zum Benutzer  (Sorry error message is in german)
I checked the RFC and it is working. On the testsystem things were ok. On productive system it doesn't work... No I can not transport since the regarding process chain is only existing on productive.
    Thanks for any hints

  • Source system mapping between BW systems

    Hi All
I have question regarding source system mapping between BW systems
We are in BW7 and we still have BW3.5 objects (Cubes,IO,ODS ets)
We have 1 source in BW Dev that need to split to 2 different  sources in BW QA
e.d BW Dev map to ECC Dev 110 and when we transport ,it should map
to 2 sources  ,one is ECCQA Clinet 200 and another map to ECCQA Client 210
in the conversion in BW QA we have mapped it to the 2 ECC QA sources but
the problem is that if we would only work with BW7 objects this will work but since we have
also BW3.5 objects  the  mapping in not complete for the 3.5 objects , we also checked the 7.0 button in the conversion and it still have missing objects

Hi... i dont understand your isse you have one source of transport and in the destination if points to two systems and this works for you....and your problem is in 3.5 objects? its a version problem?

  • Source System mapping while transporting objects from Q to P

    Hi All,
I have moved all my transports from BW DEV to Q twice with different source system mappings, say R3D to R3Q and again R3D to R3X, as I have to do testing from both the source systems.
Now, I have to move all those transports to PROD and I found out that they will be moved from Q to P and not from DEV to P. In such case, what source system mapping should I maintain in P? Is that R3Q to R3P or R3R to R3P?
Hope I am clear with my question. Please let me know if it is not clear.
    Thanks,
    RPK.

    Hi Nasiroddin,
Itseems I am not clear with my question. Let me put it in another way.
My BWQ is connected to two R/3 source systems, say R3Q and R3X where as my BWP is only connected to R3P. While transporting the requests from BWQ to BWP, I know that I have to maintain the source system mappings(Tools->Mapping of the source system names). Now I am in doubt about what mapping do I need to maintain(either R3Q->R3P or R3X->R3P)? Which source systems transfer rules etc.(all source system dependant objetcs) will be transported, either R3Q or R3X?
    Thanks,
    RPK.

    Hi,
Hope you aware of Infosources interacts with Replicated Datasources.
As per your post, BW1 is a source system for BW2 and BW3.
So, you have to create Infosources in BW2 and BW3. So you have to replicate the datasources in BW2 and BW3.

  • Source system mapping for transport

We just create a change request for an InfoSouce. Now we transport this change request from DEV system to TEST system. But when this change request was imported on TEST system, got the "Method Execution" red error which can be checked through STMS in log. The red error msg is "Source system A does not exist", where A is our R3 DEV server. Actually we need the source system B which is R3 TEST server in the InfoSouce transported into BW TEST system, but the problem is that the change request was created on BW DEV which uses A as Souce System in the InfoSouce, then how to make the InfoSouce has B on BW TEST after the transport?
Roberto gave an answer (see my another post: What should BASIS do for an InfoSource transport for Souce System change?) as below:
"you have to set the source system mapping in your target system in RSA1, Transport Connection -> F8 and then import your request again !"
But he said this setting would be done at the target or TEST system.   I don't think it's right, this mapping setting should be done at the DEV system since our transports are created in DEV Transport Connection, am I right?
    Please verify who is right?

    hi Kevin,
    let's refer to sap's doc

  • Source system connection issues

    Hello BI Experts,
We had issues with the source system connection - from our BI system (NW 04s) to our R/3 system (ECC 6.0) .
From RSA1, when we right click on the R3 source sytem and do a "Check", it was erroring out: "Error in source system <Logsysname1>". This Logsysname1 was different one from the actual R/3 system's Logsys name (Logsysname2) .
To Fix this, we restored the connection by selecting the (R/3) Source system and right click and "Restore".
After providing the passwords for the RFC users, the system again asked "The Connection <XY> is used in the <Logsysname1> Source system as a connection." And we selected the "Delete" option here. Then in the Logon screen to R/3, we provided the administrator user Id and password.
Once the source system connection is complete, we checked the connection as mentioned above and the "Source Sytem connection is OK" now.
    (1) But now, in the transaction RSA1, the R/3 system is displayed under "BI" instead of "SAP".
    (2) When we asked our BI consultant to check the dataloads, he encountered an error: "No transfer structure is available for InfoSource <X> in the Source system. Errors in Source system".
How can we bring the R/3 system under "SAP" now?
If we delete the R/3 system (which is listed under BI) and recreate under "SAP", will the transfer rules will also get deleted?? How to avoid this issue?
    Please advise.
    John
    SAP Basis.

    Hi,
Please make sure that you have followed the below steps while creating the Source System
    1.     In the initial screen of the source system, choose Tools ® Administration ® User Maintenance ® Users and create a background user with a password and the authorization profile S_BI-WX_RFC.
    2.     Define the RFC destination parameters for the SAP source system in BW. To do this, choose Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Network ® RFC Destinations in BW.
Enter the information taken from the source system on the server name.
    u2022     Application server: pswdf090
    u2022     System ID: IDF
    u2022     System number: 90
The destination name has to correspond to the logical name of the source system that you entered for the process step Define Logical System in the implementation guide for the source system. For user and password, enter the background user that you created in step 1.
    3.     Define the RFC destination parameters for the SAP BW in the source system. To do this, select Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Network ® RFC Destinations in the source system. Enter the server name information taken from the BW system.
The destination name has to correspond to the logical name of the BW system that you entered in the process step Define Logical System in the BW Customizing Implementation Guide. ALE communicates using the name of the SAP Business Information Warehouse that you defined. The defined name represents how the SAP Business Information Warehouse is identified. For the user and password, enter the background user that you defined in the BW Customizing Implementation Guide under Business Information Warehouse ® Links to Other Systems ® Link Between SAP Systems and BW.
    4.     Test both RFC destinations with the functions Test ® Connection and Test ® Authorization.
If an error occurs during the authorization check, the background user is not permitted in this client and with this password. If an error occurs in the connection test, it means there is a network problem.
    5.     In the BW Administrator Workbench choose SOURCESYSTEMTREE ® Root ® Context Menu (right mouse button) ®Create and select the radio button for the manually creating an SAP source system.
    6.     Enter a description for the source system and the logical name of the source system that you entered for the process step Maintain Logical System in the source system implementation guide.
If you still have any issues, let us know.
    Regards,
    Yogesh.

  • Source System Creation issue in BI

    Hi Everyone,
I have already created RFC Connection in BW and EC(BackGround Users are ALEREMOTE and BWREMOTE). I am able to login using Remote Login from SM59 from BW to ECC and Vice versa. After this , When I try to create a Source System, it asks me to provide the ALEREMOTE and BWREMOTE Passwords along with the Source System Name.
    I provide all the details.
Then the System asks me to login as a Administrator into ECC. And Once, I login, it throws up an error RFC Connection failed.
I think I am missing some steps. Please provide your inputs.
    Regards,
    Samir

    Hi Ananda,
Thanks for your response. I did the same. Created Background users and  when Try to Create a Source System ,it prompts me to R/3 side and here it is showing as RFC Failed. Remote Logon is working. But when Icreate a source System and provide password details, it fails.
Please advice. Is there any password restrictions for Background users.I maintained it as "init123". Do we need to use Capitals. And once, we provide the initial password, do we need to change it again somewhere?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Samir

  • Remote Cube  With Source System SQL

    Hello
I had create connection with SQL Server.
    I had generate Datasource.
I had Create a Remote Infocube.
But I can't Assign SQL as source System
    Is this possible?

    Hi
I think it can work for any system , for SQL server you need to create a view for BW to fetch data from the SQL tables.
when the view is ready you can create ODS or any infoprovider on it.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem BW  : DTP lost source system mapping  and new one created?

I had a little question concerning the BI content activation, when you have to activate objects and there are two source systems, one of them already with a flow working. Do you have to check both source systems in your screen of source system selection, if there are shared objects? I was afraid if I only checked the one I wanted the existing one would dissappear? I donu2019t want to touch the existing one as it was a 3.5 flow which has been migrated to 7.0.
I have also another question, which is a worse scenario of what has happened recentlyu2026!! Imagine you have originally one source system in your BW DEV environment (towards QA) with a certain amount of Datasources connected to it as well as some DTPu2019s. A new source system was added to this BW DEV (towards PROD). Do you think adding this new source system could have an impact in the mapping of the DTP towards the Datasources? In fact, some of our DTP have been modified and they are pointing to the incorrect Datasource/Source system. These DTP were created manually as well as the Transformations as it was a former 3.5 flow. Do you know a way to bring it back to itu2019s previous connection. Maybe a table that points to the correct source system or a function module? RSBKDTP and RSBK* tables do not store this info (only descriptions) and RSRV doesnu2019t do it.
Please let me know if you have had a similar case! Points are waiting and the gratitude of my boss...lol

    Any ideas?
