I dragged and dropped an organ part onto the Chord Global Track in hopes of reading the chord symbols later. However, I continued recording and now that I want to replace a portion of that original track, I can't record over it because Logic keeps transposing every note I play based on the chords in the Global Track. Deleting these chords from the global track ruins every other track I've recorded since then. What can I do to get control back? Thanks so much.
I'm also seeing big translucent white lines all over the track I imported- those might be sustain pedal cues but I think they have to do with each new chord from the Global track...9 hours is a lot of footage for a single Event. That is probably the hangup. Is there a way you could logically divide the event into multiple events? For example, if Martin Scorcese was filming the Woodstock concert, he could divide into Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
IMovie can use multiple events in a single project, and an event can be used in multiple projects. -
How to remove logical standby database configuration cleanly
Hello,
We are on RHL with 11.2.0.3 DB version. Due to various unknown reasons we would like to recreate logical standby database and for that purpose I would like to cleanly remove/uninstall/drop LOGICAL STANDBY DATABASE from the DATA GUARD configuration we have.
The DG setup already has 1 PHYSICAL STANDBY DATABASE which is working fine. PRIM,PHYSICAL, and LOGICAL all are on different HOSTS. Could you please guide or suggest us exact MOS Doc id regarding this? I have found one MOS Doc id which is close enough but its steps include removing dg configuration completely which I don't want. Only Logical Standby database needs to be remove cleanly so that it can be installed again properly.
We are using GRID CONTROL and DATA GUARD BROKER.
Bundle of thanks in advance.
Best RegardsHello;
I would review this Oracle note:

Hello,
it seems I am unable to remove skip logc rules from an item. I can remove a part of them, but when I delete all of them from an item, the OK button becomes greyed out.Hi,
You can remove the skip logic rule from an item by unchecking the "Show / Hide Item" checkbox in the property panel.
Thanks for providing this feedback. We'll be addressing this usability issue in a future release of FormsCentral.

For uninstall or to remove Logic Express 8-0-2
Concerning Logic Express 8.0.2:
I want to remove my PowerBook PC G4, the application Logic Express 8.0.2 which currently takes too much space to me and of which I do not have the utility of it.
With this intention; I made:
- Firstly: I removed the application Logic Express of “APPLICATIONS” Macintosh HD.
- Secondly: I removed in LIBRARY SUPPORT APPLICATION file LOGIC.
Into final, I note that there remains to me still an occupation of memory of Software LOGIC EXPRESS, approximately 2.5 Gigas which I do not manage to find and to remove.
Can-you like it, to help me and to indicate to me in which files these relative informations for a total uninstall of LOGIC EXPRESS.
Where then I to find the 2.5 Gigas which is still in my system?
For your information, I do not have any project of creates with the application Logic Express which I never used.
Thank you. This [thread|http://www.macosxaudio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45428] gives a list of all the support files and where they are.
Most of your lost HD space is probably Apple loops: if you're planning on using Garage Band, you'll need them but if not, you can trash all the loops too. -
hi all. When pressed play and make some changes in loop (eg fade in fade out) are very slow to implement, and also the loops from the library are very slow to play, corrects the somewhat self so is the Logic??
Hey there Logic Pro21,
It sounds like you are seeing some odd performance issues with Logic Pro X. I recommend these troubleshooting steps specifically from the following article to help troubleshoot what is happening:
Logic Pro X: Troubleshooting basics
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5859
Verify that your computer meets the system requirements for Logic Pro X
See Logic Pro X Technical Specifications.
Test using the computer's built-in audio hardware
If you use external audio hardware, try setting Logic Pro X to use the built-in audio hardware on your computer. Choose Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio from the main menu and click the Devices tab. Choose the built in audio hardware from the Input Device and Output Device pop-up menus. If the issue is resolved using built-in audio, refer to the manufacturer of your audio interface.
Start Logic with a different project template
Sometimes project files can become damaged, causing unexpected behavior in Logic. If you use a template, damage to the template can cause unexpected results with any project subsequently created from it. To create a completely fresh project choose File > New from Template and select Empty Project in the template selector window. Test to see if the issue is resolved in the new project.
Sometimes, issues with the data in a project can be repaired. Open an affected project and open the Project Information window with the Project Information key command. Click Reorganize Memory to attempt to repair the project. When you reorganize memory, the current project is checked for any signs of damage, structural problems, and unused blocks. If any unused blocks are found, you will be able to remove these, and repair the project. Project memory is also reorganized automatically after saving or opening a project.
Delete the user preferences
You can resolve many issues by restoring Logic Pro X back to its original settings. This will not impact your media files. To reset your Logic Pro X user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
Restart the computer.
Isolate an issue by using another user account
For more information see Isolating an issue by using another user account.
Reinstall Logic Pro X
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Logic Pro X. To do this effectively, you need to remove the application, then reinstall Logic Pro X. You don't have to remove everything that was installed with Logic Pro X. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Logic Pro X.
In the Finder, choose Applications from the Go menu.
Locate the Logic Pro X application and drag it to the trash.
Open the Mac App Store
Click the Purchases button in the Mac App Store toolbar.
Sign in to the Mac App Store using the Apple ID you first used to purchase Logic Pro X.
Look for Logic Pro X in the list of purchased applications in the App Store. If you don't see Logic Pro X in the list, make sure it's not hidden. See Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases for more information.
Click Install to download and install Logic Pro X.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

You are using the latest version of drivers/software for your Maschine, Apogee, ADVC-55 and SL MkII devices
Failing that, Shut down your Mac, unplug all external devices and start up Mac. Test LPX using internal Audio and Musical Typing Keyboard with new project....
If that works normally then...
Delete both Logic's prefs and the CS prefs as detailed here...
Quit Logic Pro
If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove ~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
Restart the computer.
Note:If you cannot find either of these files you did not follow all the steps exactly as described!
Now...
Plug in each of your external devices, one at a time.. restarting your Mac each time to ensure which, if any device, is the source of the problem...
Additional: You may have to install and set up your SL MkII again after deleting the CS (Control Surface) prefs
If that doesn't help then as a troubleshooting step....
Please download Etrecheck from here...
http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
..and then launch Logic Pro (But don't load up a project)
Now run Etrecheck and post up the full report here....
Thanks...

Hi,
I'm totally stumped. I'm using Logic Pro 7.1.1 and have recently upgraded my OS from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 and Logic won't even pass the "setting up memory buffers" stage on loading the program. It was working fine before. I have tried to un-install using the standard manual removal of all logic files but everytime I try to install Logic 7.0, I get a message telling me there is a newer version of the software detected on the hard disk. I've installed all the earlier versions anyway but the program still won't load. Any ideas? Thanks,
Dave.Download and install the Pro Application Runtime package for Tiger and install it.

Conflict between Logic pro 7.2.2 and DIGI002 using a macbook pro
Hi.
I'm running Logic pro 7.2.2 on a macbook Pro using a DIGI002 rack as audio interface. I experience an extremely bad performance from my computer and keep getting these warnings: "conflict between Logic Pro and external device (digi002)" and the application runs VERY slow! I have updated all drivers but that hasn't helped! I practically can't use Logic at all, as it complaints when hardly running any tracks in a session. Has anybody experinced or heard of it before? It has really started to get on my nerves!!!!Hi,
I am running Logic Pro with a Digi002 Rack.My driver versions are:
Digi Core Audio manager 7.1.1cs1
ProTools LE v7.1.1cs1 also the first Intel compatible version of ProToolsLE.
Logic Pro 7.2.2
All of this works, and I even use the Digi002 also to playback audio from iTunes,iMovieHD,iDVD,and Quicktime Pro,without any problems at all.
Are you able to run ProToolsLE well,or is it exhibiting the same problems?
Are you using the internal drive as a record drive,or do you have an external firewire drive for audio? This is important.I would recommend NEVER using the internal drive for recording audio,it can make the drive unusable after a while.
It would be good to know if you do have the latest drivers for the Digi002,and are able to run iTunes etc... If that is the case then going and removing all of Logic Pro preference files, and re-selecting the Digi002 interface as the audio hardware might do the trick. Also, check Audio Midi setup and make sure it sees the Digi002 correctly.
Lastly, and this suggestion no one seems to give...is simply this:check ALL your firewire cables, and if they look even a little frayed, replace them. Also, please put the Digi002 in the following order,if you are daisy chaining multiple firewire devices:
MacBook Pro
\Digi002 Rack
\\firewire hard drive(s)
\\\any external DVD/CDburners,ESPECIALLY if the manufacturer recommends this position for heir device.
\\\\any other external devices(cameras, printers, whatever)and have them OFF when running Logic or ProTools.
I hope some of this helps,
Cheers,

Error message when I open Logic Express 7
Hi!
When I opened Logic Express 7 today, I got an error message, telling me that Logic had problem with the file com.apple.logic.express.cs.
I then searced the net and found out that the problem could be solved if I deleted that file, so I tried that (I didn´t deleted it, but just removed it to the trash, so I could replace it back if Logic wasn´t fixed with the file removed). And Logic was still not working. No sound when I tried to play back my songs or when I tried to play with the audio instruments. So now I have just replaced back the com.apple.logic.express.cs file, since that did not seemed to be the problem.
I also tried to remove the com.apple.logic.SetUpAssistant.standard.plst file, but that did not seem to help either.
Have anyone here experienced the same problem?
PS. Why is the solution to remove those files to get it work, when they are ment to be there in the first place?
Best from Asle
Composer/guitarist from NorwayHi!
Thank you for the answer!
Will all the songs I have made in Logic be safe and still be 100 % as before if I reinstall Logic?

Time series functions are not working for fragmented logical table sources?
If i remove that fragmented logical table sources, then its working fine.
if any body know the reason, please let me know.
thanks and regards,
krishnaHi,
is because the time series function are not supported for the framentation content, see the content of the oracle support:
The error occurs due to the fact the fragmented data sources are used on some Time series measures. Time series measures (i.e. AGO) are not supported on fragmented data sources.
Confirmation is documented in the following guide - Creating and Administering the Business Model and Mapping Layer in an Oracle BI Repository > Process of Creating and Administering Dimensions
Ago or ToDate functionality is not supported on fragmented logical table sources. For more information, refer to “About Time Series Conversion Functions” on page 197.

Logic Pro X keeps sending C0 notes to midi out when record is armed on a audio track
I have a annoying problem with Logic Pro X, which I bought a month ago. Here's al little scenario that describes the problem.
I disconnect my audio interface, so that Logic Pro has to rely on my MacBook Pro's internal audio. This way I exclude my RME-FF800 from being of any influence.
I start up the Midi Monitor tool, to analyse what comes out of Logic; MIDI-wise.
I start up Logic set up a small test project in Logic Pro X, that contains:1 audio track
There's little button on the audio track with a red-colored "R". This is the button to "arm" this track for recording audio.
I push the little "R" button, the R-character turns white, the button as a whole turns red. The button starts blinking.
From this moment on Logic starts sending MIDI messages ....... huh? Every second or so ... a low C.
In my regular studio setup this means that I hear a low repeated note coming out of my piano, every time I record audio. How annoying!!
By the way ... a Guitar/Bass track has the same problem. All the other track types (External midi, software instrument, drummer) don't have this problem.
Help is deeply appreciated, because it drives me crazy and if I can't fix this .... I think I have to return to my previous DAW-of-choice (Cubase 7.5).
Here's the Midi Monitor output.

So.. first make sure you have force quit any iPad/iPhone Logic/midi related apps and not just closed them..
Then if that doesn't fix things.. delete Logic's CS preferences... and Logic's own user preferences too...as described here..
Delete the user preferences

In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. While trying to record a guitar track direct through from a POD HD Pro (which I've done numerous times), Logic suddenly crashed. The screen went dark and my Macbook Pro rebooted. Once I opened Logic Pro X again, it looks like a more primitive and basic version of Logic. I no longer have the capability to open a separate mix/midi/score/etc window. When I select midi tracks they do not show up in the piano roll as to be able to edit. I've also lost all key command functions (i used just default Logic key commands). Is there any way to restore Logic Pro X or do I need to reinstall it? Thanks!
Sounds like Logic's prefs got deleted or corrupted so...
First, do this (Note you will lose any custom key commands you may have created ...)
Quit Logic pro X and then....

Things should be then back to normal again... -

Do I need to uninstall previous version of Logic Pro before I install Logic Pro X?
Basically what it says above!?
You don't need to delete the previous Logic Pro version before installing Logic Pro X. Logic Pro X is a new version and won't replace the old Logic Pro version, so if you like Logic Pro X and that's what you need after testing it, remove the old Logic Pro
