Repetitive Approvers in SSHR

Hi,
We have a strange case in the self service...
we set up our approvers dynamically using calling to external function.
it was working fine but currently we found out one or more case that the workflow repeat the approvers.
Let's say that the transaction should goes to Person1 then Person2 then Person3 for approval.
Accoriing to the workflow it goes to Person1 (Approve), Person2(Approve),Person3(Approve) then it was somehow reset to Person1 then Person2 then Person3.... etc and we had to reject the transaction to stop the process..
it was odd cases, Self service was working fine couple of weeks ago without such a problem.
I already checked the Configuration Variables: (default)
Forward to previous approver in same chain of authority: Forward to forwardee and forwarder
Forward with approval to previous approver in same chain of authority: Forward to forwardee only
Forward to subordinate in same hierarchy, but not in same chain of authority: repeat forwarder
Forward with approval to subordinate in same hierarchy, but not in same chain of authority: Forward to forwardee only
Forward to approver already in list, but not in same hierarchy: Forward to forwardee only
Forward with approval to approver already in list, but not in same hierarchy: Forward to forwardee only
Adhoc approver, forward to approver already in list: Forward to forwardee only
Adhoc approver, forward with approval to approver already in list: Forward to forwardee only
and in the Repeated Approvers the default was once per transaction
nothing was set at the transaction type level..
is there anything to revise in the workflow or others to find out the reason?

I already traced the same steps...
My external function returns only the 3 approvers ( in this case). then it returns nothing.
no delegation done at any level in the approvers.
when I did the same process, it goes normally to the 3 approvers (then it ends).
I dont know what was the circumistance so the previous one enter the circular loop! I am afraid that it repeated again!

I have setup AME for my business group and it works almost perfectly. The thing is I have different organizations in my business group
and have setup security profiles that prevents people in a certain organization to view information of people from a different organization.
Issue: in SSHR, an employee can see the list of approvers of their organization and approvers belonging to different organizations.
I only want users to be able to see a list of their approvers from their organization in SSHR.

Parallel Approval in Self Servie HR (SSHR)

Hi All,
We have a requirement in which we need to send approval to multiple people at once. And if any approver approves the transaction, it should be considered approved and should not require any further approvals.
According to the metalink note 473038.1, parallel approval is not possible in SSHR but the workaround is available using Roles in HRMS.
I tried using this workaround and it seems only half of this solution is working and half not. It sends approvals and it is visible in Worklist but not sending any approval emails for approvers. Approver has to go into SSHR and has to approve the transaction. There is no push notification or any other way for approver to know that there is any action pending for his attention. Is there any solution which can send approval mails? Or any other solution for the parallel approvals?

Thanks for looking into the issue.
I can receive the FYI notifications. So the notification mailer is up. Also, for other transactions, where only one approver is required, I am able to receive the notification. So Notification Style is also not disabled.
Any other thought?

SSHR - APPROVAL CHAIN IS OPEN, APPROVAL LIST SHOWS ALL SUPERVISORS

In SSHR,I'm trying to raise any Approval Based Request like leave of Absence, Appraisal etc.. in approvers list shows
all Supervisor list.
We are using Seeded Workflow with Customized menu, Responsibility. We have the same issue with seeded responsibility also.
The Approval Chain is open and its keep on adding the Approver List based on
supervisor Chain.
We haven't defined "Supervisor Hierarchy "

You may need to configure AME and redefine the default approver rule. I believe the default rule 'out of the box' is approval up 10 levels of the supervisor hierarchy. If you change that action to the action that matches up to approval up 1 level of the supervisor hierarchy, I think you'll be where you want to be.

Extra Information In SSHR & Hierarch for Approvals

But unable to find that how to enable these items for self service.
Secondly Pls guide me that how we can assign any hierarchy that is to be used for approvals.

Look at the document (available via MetaLink) called Deploy Self Service HR. This is a good refernce to start with.
For approvals, I suggest you consider using AME (Dynamic Approvals) where you can define business rules to specify approvers.

SSHR Notification Message

Hi,
When employee applies leave more than what he accrued, system issue a warning and employee goes ahead and apply leave in SSHR. When his supervisor receives notification, it does not say if the employee had exceeded his balacne. How to bring in that notification only for employees who had applied leave more tahn wht they accrued.

If I understood the problem correctly,you are asking to how to send the notification to supervisors for only those employees who had applied leave more than wht they accrued.
The solution for this is workflow customization.
In the HRSSA workflow,Leave of Absence process->Notification Process for Approvers and Notifiers->Approvers Notification Process ,before the Notify Approver create a function which will calculate whether the applied leave is more than wht they accrued and retrievs yes,then traverse to the notification node,othersie (means if the function result is No) don't call the notification and move on to the End node.

Birthday calendar bizarre repetitions and other issues

I have the STRANGEST things happening with birthdays on both my iPhone (5, 32GB, white, iOS 6) and iPad (32GB, iOS 6, white).
I'm posting it here in the iPhone forum, assuming more people may be able to help.
First of all, I sync a Google Apps calendar with my iPhone and iPad via CalDAV. I also sync my Google Contacts with my address book (including birthdays), which syncs via my MacBook on OS 10.6.8 using the sync icon in the system tray. (I hesitate to call it MobileMe, even though that's what the System Preferences calls it, because it really has nothing to do with MobileMe -- it does not sync via MobileMe [I do not have an account], it just syncs my Address Book with Google with my phone or iPad when hooked up. It is through a WIRED connection that it does the final sync to the device.)
So, my birthdays from my address/contact books and my Google contacts DO sync and they DO show up on both my iOS devices in the fancy Birthday calendar with the cute cake symbol, as well as in my Google calendar.
NOW HERE'S THE CRAZY PARTS.
Sometime recently, my birthdays were getting repeated. But oddly, enough they are a different amount on the two iOS devices. I have 18 copies of all birthdays (on the same day) in my iPhone calendar and 68 (YES, SIXTY-EIGHT COPIES) in my iPad of every birthday.
My Google calendar shows NO SUCH ERRONEOUS copies.
The crazier thing is that the copies of the birthdays are NOT on the birthday calendar. In fact, IT'S AS IF THEY JUMP AROUND ON DIFFERENT CALENDARS. They show up all one color, but some random color. They will appear or disappear only SOMETIMES if I turn "off" some calendars or others (for example, once they would go away if I hid a "Personal" calendar, another if I hid a calendar I subscribe to via Google but sync via CalDAV from Weather Underground, and another calendar that is a Google calendar but also my "default calendar" in the iOS settings). And this is all within minutes.
When I go into an instance of the repeated calendar event, it will actually say it belongs to my default calendar, regardless of what was hiding or showing it before.
When I try to "edit" the birthday just to see what happens, it crashes the app.
WHAT. THE. ______???
Here's what already I've tried:
Searching the internet for someone with a similar problem. NADA.
Turning off the option to sync my Google birthday calendar via the Google sync page (I think it's actually unnecessary anyway, since iOS pulls from the contact book, anyway). That did nothing.
Hiding all calendars and then selecting them to show one at a time to figure out which calendar was causing the problem, but as I mentioned above, it is not consistent.
Re-syncing my devices with iTunes.
Searching for and merging duplicate contacts in Google contacts.
Turning off the iOS birthday calendar.
Killing and re-starting the calendar app.
Re-starting my iOS devices.
Re-syncing my contact book with my devices.
Someone. Please. Tell me you're having this problem and that you have the solution? I'm going crazy over here! I can't remember anything that may have triggered this to happen.

I figured it out! (Or at least, it's been fixed for a day on both my iPad and iPhone.)
By the way, I discovered more oddities, but I'm not going to even bother with describing them.)
I am assuming everyone here has been syncing their birthday calendar off of Google/Gmail (whether CalDAV or Exchange, it doesn't matter).
The key to this is to know three things:
A) Tgara was on to something: syncing the Google birthday calendar in your Google sync settings -- even though it does not show up in your calendar list on the iphone/ipad -- is the culprit.
B) BUT, simply un-syncing will not make them go away unless you completely un-sync all your Google calendars. Once the repetitions get into your phone/iPad via they are kind of "stuck" there, and you've got to go back to the beginning to un-stick them for good.
C) Thus, it may require some trial and error because I had to repeat this a couple times. I may no have the right order of operations, but this is my best recreation/guess.
How I fixed it (I had to repeat a couple times for some reason):
1) I'm debating whether you have to do this step (I think I did it on my iPhone, but not my iPad, and yet both worked), but it doesn't take long, so you could just to be safe: on your iOS device, Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars -- delete your Google calendar account.
2) On your iOS device, go to the proper Google sync page to choose what calendars are available for syncing.
For Exchange, go to: https://m.google.com/sync/settings/iconfig/device
For CalDAV and Gmail/normal sync, go to: https://www.google.com/calendar/b/0/iphoneselect
For Google Apps CalDAV (although it worked for me on the normal page above), go to: https://www.google.com/calendar/hosted/yourhosteddomain.com/iphoneselect
If you're not sure which method you use, do both of them.
3) Sign in and choose the device in question (if prompted) and then uncheck ALL the calendars. Save/apply.
4) Go to calendar app. You should have an On my iPhone or On my iPad calendar and the iOS birthday calendar. Ensure that no repetitions are seen when you check mark each calendar idividually and also collectively to be visible. If there are, repeat the steps above.
5) Once the repetitions are gone, go to your iOS settings and add the calendar account back in if you removed it in step one.
6) Go back to the calendar app. Again, you will have two calendars -- one default Google calendar and one ios birthday calendar. Turn on each one at a time and also together to make sure the repetitions are gone. If they are not, repeat the above again.
7) Once they are gone, go back to the Google sync page(s) and add all the calendars you want back, BUT DO NOT SELECT YOUR BIRTHDAY CALENDAR. Save/apply.
8) Go to the calendar app. Open up the calendar list. Wait for it to refresh. Now you should be able to turn on all your calendars you wish to see, wait for it to propagate, and confirm there are no copies. If there are copies, repeat all the steps!
YOU DO NOT need to erase your contacts. Not sure about iGust's work-around, but that's unnecessary. And christina44, I actually think this is a different problem. All my copies were on the correct date.

How to get the approver from a wf notification in case there are multiple approvers ?

I created an ad hoc role to store mutliple approvers for a wf notification.
My question is how to get the user_name of the first responder so I can stamp the record I need to update with it.
I''m assuming it would be using wf_notifications.GetAttrText but I don't know what that attribute name would be.

The reports which you asked me to check are all structures & not much of use for individual analysis.
My requirement: When we access the material document(MB51) of the individual MFBF we get all the Raw material Consumption Qty & from there we can go to FI Doc (A/c Document).In A/c documet we get the cost of all Raw materials consumed alongwith the Qty.
Is there any report or I need to develope a new report?

Viewing ALL Open Work Items and Corresponding Approvers in System

Is there a workflow report in ECC that displays ALL open work items in the system at any given time and their approvers that need to take action?

SWIA - You can give a status of the workitem ( Ready , Inprocess ...........), workitem type (dialog....)
in the selection criteria and also the time then you can find all the open workitems.
And also you can check Header table SWWIHEAD it includes all the information related to workflows
but this is a lenghty process need to process object type and need to refer so many attributes.
best way is need to create one report make use of it.

Not sure whether this is what you want, but you can check PO_ACTION_HISTORY and linked that table to PO_HEADERS_ALL.
It is similar like you click - View Action History in PO Forms.

Single step workflow with multiple approvers (without using a group)

Hi,
is it possible to have a single step workflow with multiple approvers without using a group? This is for a contract document.
i want to add a number of users based on particular logic. The approvers are random and do not belong to any particular group.
DO let me know if it is possible or if any of you have done that.

I believe the behavior would be, if individual users are added as approvers then the system would require each approver to approve the document. However, if you use the user group, you could set the role so that it would be either ALL or ANY.

With iCal can I hide repetitive events in month view only?

I was wondering if it was possible to hide repetitive events in month view but have them show in week and day views. For instance, I have my class schedule on iCal but I don't want to see it when I look at the month view, I just want to see events that are not repetitive, such as exam/test events. If anyone can help, that would be awesome. Thanks.

You could create a separate calendar for repetitive events, and uncheck them when using the day/week view.
