Replacement Micro - Faulty Already

Hi, further to my previous posts regarding my faulty Micro, which upset SSR and Creative.
I paid the P&P for my 3 Month old Micro to be sent for repair due to the famous 'lock up' fault.
Which, incidentally, is contrary to UK Sale of Goods Act as I previously stated, it should not cost the purchaser to obtain warranty repairs.
Recei'ved a Brand New replacement this morning, good service, only took 6 days.
Problem is, straight out of the box, has a different fault - Wont Switch Off !!
Now, with so many faults and problems, is it correct to assume that the Micro is not fit for the purpose for which it was purchased, mine certainly is not.
So SSR, tell me its just bad luck I suppose, What Next?
regards MH

First of all why in Gods name would I waste my time making up something like this, and who the hell do you think you are to accuse me of same?
People do it all the time. I haven't accused you of it as such, just that it's a possibility. I have no way to check Creative's RMA numbers.
Are you so smitten with Creative that you fail to understand, we are having serious problems here, I am not the only member of the Multiple RMA Club, so read and believe.
We've already gone through the reasons, several times, why people post with problems here. Surely we don't need to do it again?
Are you so anti-Creative that you need to post it in every thread you come across? It works both ways.
As I stated previously I have had to pay for my Micro to be returned, now I have to pay again to get the new one replaced and I havent even used it yet.
This is contrary to the UK Sale of Goods Act as I previously stated, yet you refused to believe me.
You have to pay the POSTAGE to send it to Creative, and that should be all, just to be accurate here. In fact I've seen various cases where after sending it back once Creative will pay the postage for future events. If you have an issue with this then take it to UK Trading Standards if you really want to further it. I've had to return to various companies and have paid the postage e.g. eBuyer, whether I should have done or not. I do know of companies that will pay the postage to return an item e.g. Maxtor.
Dont talk to me about reseating the battery and simple stuff like that, and oh yes it does have the latest firmware too, as one would expect with a brand new machine direct from Creative Repair Agent.
You don't even mention what you've tried to do to solve it, and I offered help. I won't bother in future. Again, you do yourself no favours.

I have replaced my faulty hard drive on my macbook air 1.1 with a new ssd, I need to reinstall the original software, where can I find this on the apple site?

There is no download for the software.  The factory software that you are looking for is called ilife.  It is all of the software that would have came preinstalled with your mac on your original hard drive when you first bought it.  You will have to get new software on your computer.  This might actually be a great opurtunity to upgrade to Lions.  Search the Lions software in the mac store and it will come up.  Click add to cart and check out.  The price for it is $20.  I defientely recomend Lions, it has alot of new great features.  Then wate for the install disk to come in the mail.  when it come just pop it in and follow the step by step instructions.  If you dont want to upgrade to lions however you can download the ilife package from apple.com for a small price.  Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to add photos to the iPad without replacing the ones already loaded?  I am trying to add photos from a folder on a computer that does not contain the other iPad photos.

Is there a way to ADD photos to my iPad without replacing the ones already there?  I am trying to add photos from a computer that does not contain photos already synced to the device.

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

    Hi Sükrü
You can read the table E071 with the object id and get the transport request number. Use this transport request and read the table E070, the field "TRSTATUS" will give the status whether the object is locked or released.
    Hope this helps !

  • Request for Procedure to replace a faulty hard disk on X1070 hardware

                       Hi,
Can I get a procedure document on how to replace a faulty hard disk setup up in RAID 1+0 configuration and the applaince is setup to be part of a cluster.
    Regards,
    Many Thanks

Were you able to get the information you need on the faulty drive?  The drives are hot swappable, except on X150/X160 appliances.  Replacing the drive should automatically kick off the rebuild, and should not have any impact on clustering.
Just open a support case with TAC, and we can swap out the drive, if you are still under contract.
Incase the full KB article was reachable...
The full eKB can be found:
    https://ironport.custhelp.com/app/answers/list
The drives on a 1U IronPort appliance will no longer be replaced.  Instead, a replacement device will be shipped for any RAID issues.  This applies to the C1xx, M160 and S160 devices.
To replace a drive on a 2U IronPort appliance:
       1. While the system is running normally, unlatch the original drive and slide it out.
       2. Slide in the replacement drive and latch it into place.
To replace a drive on C170 and S170, please kindly see the below document link:
    KB article 1815
After a short time, the lights will begin blinking indicating the RAID container is being rebuilt. While the rebuild is happening, you may receive more RAID alerts - this is normal. The rebuild may slow mail throughput on busier systems, but otherwise has no effect on normal operations. This process can take a few hours. After it is completed, the RAID alerts should no longer occur unless there is a new issue.
Note: If two or more drives have failed, replace only one drive at a time! Do not replace the next drive until the Rebuild is complete. This can be monitored from the 'version' CLI command
Note: For instructions on how to return IronPort hardware, see KB article 138.
    Hope this helps!

  • Replacement micro sim card

I have sent you two e-mails regarding my replacement micro sim card. I have received a    confirmation e-mail with the following information  "ID number of this form submission on the EE website is 4884865 - this number may be helpful for technical support, but otherwise you can safely ignore this." This receipt of form submission was received on 14th July.  To date I have still not received my micro sim card, nor can I get in touch with a human being as all your offered options do not cover my query.  Please can you find a homo sapien to reply to me and not an automated machine!

Where did you send an email. EE don't have email for mobile custs.
To get a replacement SIM, Take phone & old SIM into an EE shop & they'll transfer credit, no. & (SIM) contacts to SIM of correct size for free or order online https://explore.ee.co.uk/Order-a-new-SIM for £10.

  • New battery fitted recently to replace a faulty one (allegedly). Battery has since been on 1% but lasted all day, I charged it every night to ensure it would not go off. Ran ios 6.0.2 update and now phone will not restart or charge and i cant restore HELP

Says it all in the question really, but just to clarify: Once upon a time I took out a contract and got my very own  iphone4s more or less straightaway I could tell the battery charge was faulty, I was told by a member of the genius bar that this was normal, it wasnt normal  I could literally watch it count down and it just got worse. It got to the point where I couldnt use the phone anymore so after taking it to various places I had the battery replaced (all in all this cost around £100) and it worked 'normally' for about half a day until the phone suddenly reached 1% and has stayed at this % ever since- not ideal but it would stay on all day and ive managed to use the phone fine. I would keep it charged overnight as i usually would but even after 8 hours of charging it still said 1%, I downloaded battery apps they all told me the battery was empty even when it was still on 1%. Lastnight I decided to update to i.0.s 6.0.2 I kept it on charge to do it but when it went to restart it would not  turn back on. Im now stuck with a phone that actually has a new battery but the phone somehow doesn't recognise that it has a battery, I can't restore on itunes as it will not charge at all not even to get the apple symbol. Ive spent alot of money trying to resolve this already and have been told that the battery is not covered with the warranty so I wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Unless Apple replaced your battery, and it appears they didn't, you're pretty much on your own now. Have you tried going back to whoever replaced your battery? That's gonna be your only choice now, because if a third-party replaced your battery, Apple won't touch your phone now.

  • Pay to replace a faulty extension socket?

Our BT extension socket seems is faulty and BT says I have 2 options:
    1. Buy a replacement
    2. Get a BT engineer to fix it for £99
My question is: as it is BT equipment and it was installed by BT, why should I have to pay for it's replacement if it's faulty? I can hardly hear anyone at the other end of the line (including the BT customer service people) - and yet it's my problem? I don't get it.

Ok - thanks for clarifying. It's faulty as the phone line is terribly crackly. I've already spoken to the help desk and they told me to remove the front plate and plug the phone into the test socket and it worked fine. When I put the plate back in the front and plugged the phone and modem back in, the problem resumed. I have booked an engineer for Friday. Thanks for your quick response to my query.
As long as you are aware that you will probaly be charged for the visit?
Openreach would more than likely just disconnect any faulty wiring on the rear of your front plat of your master socket, they would not normally replace anything.
As mentioned do you need the extension sockets?

  • How to replace a faulty iPhone4 in India (purchased in another country, still in warranty?)

I would like to know how to find a replacement for a faulty iPhone4 in India (purchased in another country, which is still under warranty?)
    Please help. Thankx.

Expanding on what RG said, the warranty on an iPhone, with the exception of those purchased in the European Union, is country-specific, so you will need to send the iPhone back to a friend or relative in the country in which the iPhone was original sold to take or send it to Apple or the appropriate service provider. You will not be able to get the iPhone serviced in India.
    Regards.

  • Why was my order to replace a faulty Home Hub canc...

Having been told last Thursday by one of BT's technical support team in India that my Home Hub was faulty, I was assured that I would receive a replacement within a couple of days, followed by a phone call between 2 and 3 pm yesterday afternoon to ensure that it had arrived safely.
As I received neither a replacement Hub, nor the phone call, I contacted them again this afternoon, only to be told that my order had been cancelled "for technical reasons", and the representative to whom I was speaking seemed unable to explain why this had happened, and just kept apologising.
She has now placed another order, and this time has given me the actual order number, but has told me that I will now have to wait another two or three days, during which time my broadband is still almost unusable.
This is NOT the level of service I expect to receive from BT, and I would like to escalate my complaint.

then to get an engineer who carries the modems you will need to agree the terms - charge if your fault before they will arrange an appointment
don't know if this helps  http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12439/c/

  • Will apple replace a faulty replacement that was dropped

will apple replace a replacement? i got my replacement (1 year warante) but the center will not work sometimes. i dropped it and the screen is cracked:( will they replace it for free even though i dont have a warante on it?????

It won't matter that the center button was faulty. The drop and consequent damage has almost certainly voided the warranty and you'll have to pay Apple's out-of-warranty charge for another replacement.
