Report access

Hi,
Is it possible to allow a user to access a specific report in the Company Wide Shared Folder? We are planning to create a centralized report to be accessed by some users but we don't want them to view/copy other reports in the shared folder.
Thanks,
Teena

Hi Teena,
You can restrict access via folders at the role level. You can't do it per user (unless you have only one user in a role).
Go to 'Admin' > 'Content Management' > 'Shared Custom Analysis'. There you can build the folder hierarchy and assign each folder to a specific role.
Best of luck.

    EXPLANATION
    • Permission "Submit Request"
    • Permission "View Request"
    • Permission Set "Request Operations" containing the permissions "Submit Request"
    and "View Request"
    • Object "Concurrent Programs"
    • Object Instance Set "Programs that can be accessed"
    • Object Instance Set "Request sets that can be accessed"

    4) Object Data Context 에서 "Instance Set" 을 선택 후 "Programs that can be accessed" 이나 Request Sets that can be accessed 를 선택 한다.
    5) Instance Set Information 을 review 후 Instance Set Details 에서 request group 과 해당 application을 입력한다.
6)"Request Operations" 에서 permission set 을 지정한다.
    Viewing Requests
위에서 언급한 대로 RBAC 를 통해 viewing requests 권한을 control 할 수 있는데 아래와 같은 instance sets 이 그 역할을 한다.
    • All requests submitted by a user
    • All requests submitted by a user for a given application
    • All requests belonging to a program submitted by a user
    • All requests belonging to a request set submitted by a user (irrespective of the constituent programs' owning application) to another user (or a group of users - via a role).

  • Can Business Objects Web Intelligency reports access NearLine Storage data Via BW Bex Query

    Hi Gurus,
I am aware BEX queries can access NearLine Storage data for reporting but can Business Objects Web Intelligency reports access NearLine Storage data Via BICS connection ( Bex Query as a Source).
    Thanks,
    Shak.

I would recommend to let your SAP Basis guys do a security trace on the SAP BW side and see if some authorization check for the user fails when trying to fetch data over the universe.

  • BIP Report access via URL in OBIEE

Experts, I want to access a BIP report via URL in OBIEE. Here are the details. I already have Answers request with 'Is Prompted' filters. I have a dashboard prompt. The request works according to the values given in the prompt. Say, the user gives some filter conditions in the prompt and the result returns 10 records. Now, due to some business requirements, I want the same result set(10 records) to be opened in a new window. For that we thought of using BIP and invoking this BIP report from OBIEE. Any ideas how can we accomplish this.
    thx,
    parag

I mean to say that....assume your first view might be pivot report, then you create a BIP report from answers and place the view just below the pivot view in the dashboard.
Globally you give those prompts ,so that when you give values....it applies to both the views in the dashboard.
Suggest the end user instead of pop up....you can view both views at a single instance :) .......Give a meaning full name for that BIP report according to what you want to achieve
    =====================================================================
    EDITED:
you can use go url for your pop-up .....but you need to pass the variable values of the prompt to the go-url so you can achieve your requirement.
let the end user pass dynamically any values multiple times but the same should be passed to the go-url to get what you want.
    ========================================================================
    EDITED
I suppose YES we need to pass all the 5 prompt values to BIP report......if user gives 3 values then it filters on those 3 values and only 3 will be passed to BIP i suppose.
Never tried this passing 3 values and next session passing 2 values.....Play around with your requirement you will achieve it.
hope all questions are answered.Mark Points.

  • What is best practice in FR ? Original Report access to Users or Snapshot

    Hi,
can any one pls. let me know on what is the best practice in FR ? I need to give access to original reports to my users or the snapshot access only ? Users are not happy with snapshot access mainly during the closing time. What are the complications if i give access to original reports ? I'm using Batch scheduler, but users are unable to see the data some times. What will be the reason for this ?
    Thanks,
    PVR

    Hi,
There are certainly many variables to have a look at. Server sizes is one concern, report size is another. Giving access to original reports is fine as long as concurrency and heavy usage don't take the servers down. That said, the reports that will be given access to their originals shouldn't run for 10 minutes for each query. Having 10 user connected to such reports will probably take reporting services down which makes the entire system useless. These types of reports should better be scheduled and shown as snapshots. However, some of these reports might have time-dependent information which needs to be refreshed at query time. In this case you could either give the access to original reports or schedule the reports to run say every 2 hours.
    Cheers,
    Alp

  • Crystal Reports access to SAP/CRM 6.0 with Integration with SAP Solutions

    Hello,
we are running Crystal Reports 2008 with SAP CRM 6.0.
To boost productivity or Report writeing we need especially access to:
    - Function Modules
    - the CRM Business Objects Repository (Transaction SW01).
What kind of SAP/CRM  ( or SAP / ERP )  Objects can be accessed with the Integration for

The BO Documentation  [BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions User's Guide|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP2/en/xi31_sp2_bip_sap_user_en.pdf]  does not give a clue if this is possible.
However,  Ingo Hilgefort stated in his book that it is at least possible to access  ABAP Functions, SAP Querries and SAP InfoSets.

  • Crystal Reports: access to SAP BW tables in own namespace

    Hi BO experts
we are running XI3.1 SP2 including reporting tools, integration kit and so on. The installation and the integration to SAP BW is working properly for most szenarios.
Starting from Crystal Reports we would like to access a SAP BW table which was generated in an own namespace. By starting the database assistant we are connecting with the driver "SAP-tables,-clusters,or -functions" and see some tables in "DD (data lexicon)". But we can not find the self generated table in there. It is only possible to access the tables in namespace "/1CPMB/", "/B28/" and "/BI0/".
How can we access tables from another namespace? Are there any restrictions for accessing SAP BW tables, e.g. namespace, configuration, settings etc.to stick to?
Thank you very much for your suport in advance.
    Kind regards.
    Markus

    Hi Markus,
just go to the Database Expert, select the connection to your BW server on the left window, press the right mouse button and choose Options from the context menu. In the field Table name LIKE: you can restrict the names of the displayed tables:
eg. assuming your namespace is /ZMYNSP then just give there /ZMYNSP% ( % is a wildcard)
Close then the Options window and choose Refresh using again the context menu (or just press F5)
CR can only display a limited number of tables when you expand your BW System and by using the Options panel as described above you can let the system display exaclty the tables you need.

  • Sub reports access database multiple times

    Hello,
I have a crystal report created with a main and 2 sub reports. The data source is a stored procedure. when ever I ran/refresh  the report it access the database 3 times(first for main report and 2 times for 2 sub reports).
There is a big single query been executed and stored procedure returns the result. Even though the result set is same the report should not access database multiple times.
Is there any options or properties I have to select or missing. Is there any solution to resolve this connectivity issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Each report will each have their own separate connection to the database.  In your case it will create 3 connection: one for the main report and one for each of the subreports.  If you use sureports, there's no way around this.
Also take into account where the subreports are on the main report.  If you have them in the detail or group sections the subreports will generate a new instance each time it runs.  So you may have not 3 connections but one for each record or group in the report.
I've had to design similar reports and needed to do it without subreports.  I wrote a stored procedure that generated two sets of records: detail and summary.  I grouped the data on the report based on their record type (Detail or Summary).  I found this also made the report faster.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Auto Run off but report access via URL generates default

    Hi,
We have BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1. I access reports via URL from another application outside BI Publisher.
For my reports, I have Auto Run disabled. Still Accessing the link via URL seems to generate report instead of waiting for user
to enter parameters and click view.
When I view report via BI Publisher, the behaviour is ok, i.e. it won't generate until I click the View button.
Does anyone know how to make sure BI Publisher won't generate report without an explicit click of View button when invoked by URL.
    Thanks
    Girija

    Hi Tim,
I am calling the report in _xmode=6 i.e. the parameters show and the view button shows.
We want the user to be able to input their parameters and run the report.
    regards

  • Can Oracle reports access different schemas?

I have a query that accesses 2 schemas: It gives me an error ORA-00904 when I try to run the report.
    Any ideas?

Yes it helps. I had 3 queries... and the first was accessing the other schema but not the second or third query when they should have. However, when I ran the report, it kept giving me an error as if the first one was the problem.
Misleading error diagnostics made doubt it.

  • How can I reduce my Z report access time ?

    Dear Friends,
I have to access z report , but its processing time is very long , Is this possible that if i access report to give some
input parameters , now next time if I access the same  report with the same parameter then access time is low ,
I mean if I am accessing the report first time then if it takes approx 8 hours and then i save this access
sequence somewhere then if I am accessing this report next time with the same input parameters then
it will take only 10 min ,
Is this possible ? if yes then How ?
    Suggest ....

    Dear friend,
to reduce your z program execution time , you need to work out very simple few steps.
check t code sm30 and check your z program's execution time.
if your database execution time is too long then you have to perform following steps to reduce your execution time.
    1 ) check your I/O database query.
    2 ) use select <field name> ... instead of select * from..
3 ) if you are using your database query in any loop or internal table loop then remove that query and use internal table inside that loop.
3 ) if you are playing with bunch of data then you need to create internal tables for the specified tables and use internal table
as standard database table so that your program performance going to be better.
there are more features provided by sap it self you need to explore more.
say for it.   index,buffering...un-necessary occupied memory n all...
    hope for the best programming.
    good luck

  • Financial Reports Access

My reports that use "User POV" are giving the users the following error
5222: Unable to view report. You do not have access to the following members on the POV:
If I move the POV to Grid POV then it opens without error (even thought it's the same member). I also selected the member in my Financial Reports preference. I originally had 3 dimensions in User POV. Each gave the same error. I removed all and everything worked. As soon as I moved it back it started not working. The user does not have access to all members in the hierarchy (so they don't have access to the top member)
How do I set this up so User POV works properly for all users???
Basically the objective is to have the filter work with whatever member the user has access to but give them the option to switch to other member that the user has access to as well.
We are running 11.1.1.3 in production.

Yes I was getting an error every single time and preview removed the error. And no I didn't get a pop up box to switch it to something else.
This only occurs on dimensions you put security on it.
I actually figured out that you can do this for the user. Then once you have saved your user settings (in UserPOV). You can then remove the "preview" on and it still works without the error because my settings.
    Kind of bad design IMO
