Report in RTF format not displaying

We are trying to produce a 9iAS Rel2 9.0.2.x report in RTF format. Trying to bring this report up in IE produces the following popup box:
Internet Explorer cannot download rwservlet?config=test from host.domain.com
IE was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
Using other formats (HTML, PDF) for this report work fine.
Windows has .RTF mapped to be opened in Word.
The config entry includes:
destype = cache
desformat = RTF
mimetype = application/rtf
Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Hi alka,
To invoke Word automatically, use command
line options DESTYPE=CACHE,
DESFORMAT=RTF and MIMETYPE=application/msword.
This is an example URL: http://webserver:80/cg-bin/rwcgi60.exe?module
=test.rdf&userid=scott/tiger@mydb&
destype=cache&desformat=rtf&mimetype=application/msword&server=myrepserver
1. Check the appropriate mimetype setting for Word by Starting Windows Explorer,
choose View -> Options from the menu, go to the File Type tab, find Microsoft
Word Document in this list, click Edit, and get the value for Content Type
(MIME). This is the value that needs to be used in the MIMETYPE command line
option, and it will typically be application/msword, but may differ on
different machines.

  • Generating BIP report in RTF format generates blank report

    Hi all,
    When generating a BIP report in RTF format the report output is blank!?
    If I run the report in any other format the report displays the data correctly.
    We're running siebel 8.1.1.2 and BIP 10.1.3.4.1.
    When looking at the size of the report when the 'File Download' window appears it seem like the report contains data as the size is 62KB, compared to the pdf format which do display data is 20KB. The output generates the amount of pages that is needed for the report, but all pages are blank.
    The report is an activity List report with just one for-each statement in it.
    Has anybody come across the same?

  • SQL Report Viewer Web Part Not displaying Report

    I have just completed updating an old report using report builder 3.0. I have added it to SharePoint Designer but have not replaced the old report file.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!!
    All I did was export the old report from sharepoint designer to my desktop. Then opened it with Report Builder 3.0- made changes to the report and saved it with a different name (for safety in case i break things) and then upload it back to the same place where
    the old report was located using SP Designer. I then went back to the site in sharepoint that is displaying the old report, and changed the URL path in the SQL report viewer to the new report.
    Now the SQL Report Viewer web part isn't showing anything (blank)

  • Report 10g RTF format does not open on Windows XP SP2 IE 6

    When the desformat is PDF, the report runs fine and launches out to a new window with the document displayed. However, when the format is changed to RTF, the report is not displayed and it appears to be blocked by a popup blocker. I do not have any third party popup blocker installed (Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, etc.). The built-in IE 6 popup blocker is turned off. I even went through a Microsoft article, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843016, to insure the blocker is turned off in each security zone. Yet the report going to RTF still appears to be blocked and the report going to PDF works fine. That makes me think it may not be a popup blocker.
    I have verified RTF files open fine through windows explorer, they open fine from a html page with a link to a RTF, they also open fine if I use javascript to auto-redirect a page to an RTF file.
    The report is generated to cache and then opened with a web.show_document if that matters.
    Forms/Reports Version: 10.1.2.0.2
    JInitiator Version: 1.3.1.22
    Does anyone have any other ideas please?

    I actually already found the solution in other post: [Solved] Problem with Web.show_document
    But thanks anyway!

  • Crystal report 8.5 export to csv and rtf format not working with office 2013

    Hi Experts,
    Crystal report version 8.5 hangs and eventually crash when i export my report to csv or rtf format on windows 7 with office 2013 installed, code is written in VB 6 although the same scenario is working with office 2010 installed.
    i debugged the code and found the application hangs at function Report.Export(False).
    below is the code snippet
           .PDFExportAllPages = True 'ePDFExportAllPages
           .PDFFirstPageNumber = ePDFFirstPageNumber
           .PDFLastPageNumber = ePDFLastPageNumber
           .RTFExportAllPages = True 'eRTFExportAllPages

           .XMLAllowMultipleFiles = eXMLAllowMultipleFiles
           .XMLFileName = eXMLFileName
           Report.Export (False) ----Application hangs here and eventually crash
    Looking forward for your help, as it is very urgent
    Regards
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit
    CR 8.5, being about 15 years old, does not support Windows 7. I am surprised this works for you with MS Office 2010 and to be honest, I'd consider my self lucky there. The fact that is does not work with office 2013... well, like I said, lucky with Office 2010 and your luck ran out with Office 2013.
    Your option; rewrite the app in VS 2010 / 2012 / 2013 and use the CR Assemblies for VS .NET from SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET. The CR Java SDK would be another option.

  • Empty report with pagination,  rows not displayed

    Dear HTML DB Team,
    We have in our reports the next error: An empty report with pagination appears , no rows not displayed
    The test case to reproduce the error:
    1. Create "SQL report" with next report attributes in "Layout and Pagination"
         a. Row ranges 1-15 16-30 in select list (with pagination)
    b. Number of Rows : 15
    c. Number of Rows (Item): empty
    d. Max Row Count: empty
    2. Fill the table on which the report is based with 17 rows
    3. Go to the 2nd page of the report , pagination rows 16-17 of 17
    4. Remove 2 rows from the table, refresh report
    5, The pagination shows now 1 - 15 of 15 rows
    - no rows displayed
    - no "previous button" ( only )
    - no way to get the rows displayed, except logging out and in again
    Any suggestions?
    Erik

    Hello,
    i encountered the same problem while developing in HTMLDB.
    In application builder, i select application Application 106, then click on items, then click next ( the application has 22 global items). Now i want to take a look at the global items in application 105 (there are only 5). In the menu i click Builder - Application 106, select application 105 from Available Applications, click Go and Items. It shows no rows, but says that is displaying rows 1-5, and offers a Next button. No way to see/modify the items unless make a new session or go back to Application 106, Click Previous to see the first page of global items and then again switch to Appication 105 or click to the next button and then manually set pg_min_row=1 in URL.
    One more question - is this forum the right place to report bug suspicions, or is there some other special place for that?
    Best regards,
    Andres

  • Substitution string used in custom Report column name does not display in PDF version of report

    I am using Apex 4.2.6.00.03, Apex Listener 2 via Glassfish4 and have set up all my applications and reports on this system.  We previously used Oracle 10.2, with Apache with a custom fopping document.
    My issue is that I have a report that has custom column headings using a substitution string to pull in the begin or end date for the report.  When the report is run and displayed, the column headings appropriately display the date.  However, when I try to set up the Print to PDF option, the column headings are not displaying correctly.
    Is it possible to use a substitution string in the column heading?  I am able to use the substitution string in the Page Header and Page Footer and those display correctly.
    In the Report Attributes setup I have set the "Strip HTML" to Yes and I have four columns that are using the &"ITEM NAME". string.  See below for actual display:
    The report column headings in APEX displays correctly (bold is the substitution detail):
    Fund    Account Description          Balance 07/01/2014     Budget/Goal FY 14-15     YTD Actual 02/28/2015         Ending Balance 02/28/2015
    In the Print Attributes setup, when I get to the Report Columns section, the Heading column displays the headings as set up in the Report Attributes custom and I am not able to edit these names.  See below:
    In the version of the report that is Printed to PDF I get the following for display:
    Fund           Account Description           Balance %26amp;P347_BEGIN_DATE.     Budget/Goal %26amp;P347_FY.     YTD Actual %26amp;P347_END_DATE.     Ending Balance %26amp;P347_END_DATE.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pat

    First, the misspelled word is a test object and not data.
    Second, all data display correctly.
    Third, text object is displaying the old misspelled word.
    Fourth, I have eliminated the possibility that problems in of my pdf export routine cause this issue by exporting directly from Crystal Reports Viewer. I print the report to the crystal report viewer. The report looks good. The text object is spelled correctly. Then I click the Crystal Reports viewer's export button in the left upper corner and I export to both EXCEL and PDF. The excel export looks good. The pdf export is misspelled. All the export occurs internally in Crystal reports.
    Fifth, I found outthat all users who have this problem have the ADOBE PDF writer installed. I am just suspicious that ADOBE writer is interferring with Crystal export
    Sixth, I cannot recreate this problem on any of our development and test machines. It only happens on end-user laptops.
    Seventh, I changed the name of the report that had this problem and created a new version and installed on end-user laptop. The behaviour still persists. User saved the report as both RPT and PDF. RPT export looks good. PDF version has the spelling problem. Data on both reports is up-to-date and good. I copied the same RPT export to my PC and exported it to PDF, the pdf looks good. That is why I think something on the end-users laptops is causing the export to use some cached template.
    One more thing I did was to change the report name in VB.NET project, recreated a new package and installed on end-user's laptop. The same exact problem is still there.
    I have worked with Crystal Reports more than 15 years and I have never such a weird behaviour before. I know this sounds very weird. We are all baffled by what is happening.

  • Send report in HTML format not in MHTML

    Hi all,
    I need to send report in email in HTML format not in MHTML format.
    Kindly help me.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    As far as I know, we cannot change the rsreportserver.config file to achieve this effect.
    In SSRS, the HTML rendering extension renders a report in HTML format. The HTML rendering extension is the default rendering extension for reports that are previewed in Report Builder and viewed in a browser, including when run in Report Manager.
    There is an article about Rendering to HTML, you can refer to it.

  • Crystal Report in InfoView is not displaying the parameter

    Cheers All,
    We have a Crystal Report which is connected to the BEx query. We also have parameters based on variables in BEx.
    When we run the report directly from Crystal, everything is fine.
    However, when we run the report from InfoView, when I click on the "..." button beside the parameter to make the selection, everything hangs up.
    This (static) parameter is based on a variable which is based on a compounded characteristic 0ASSET_AFAB.
    The compunding keys are :1) Company code 2) Asset 3) Sub-asset.
    The user is providing the Company code in another parameter, but the user is not providing the Asset, nor the asset sub-number... so all the iterations of asset/sub-asset/depreciation area are displayed - and this works at BEx level, and it works when the report is run directly from the Crystal Reports, however this does not work when the report is run from the InfoView.
    What would be the best course of action?
    Regards,
    Dmitriy

    Hi Rajiv,
    In OIM 9.1 we are using the stored procedure to get the values for all the fields.In the stored procedure we are using the cursor to store the list of values but in the BI Publisher we are using the SQL queries to retrieve the values for the fields in the report. In sql queries we are unable to handle the list of values for the fileds like User Groups and Resources provisioned/deprovisioned.
    Please let me know the process even if we can get list of values for the fields using the SQL queries.

    I see that you're using ASP, if the fields in question are
    memo fields in Access or nText fields in SQL server, then it's
    possible that the following tech note may help out:
    http://www.webassist.com/media/professional/support/technotes/10009.pdf
    Or you may need to specify all of your columns (not SELECT *
    ) and manually move the memo/ntext fields to the end of the list of
    fields.

  • Reports MB5W / MB5L are not displaying the individual material lines

    Hi All,
    We are encountering a problem in MB5W/MB5L reports. When we are executing these report with the option checked "Display Indiv. Material Lines", system is not displaying the details material wise.
    It is just showing the GL wise value of Material ccy and Stock account ccy. It was running fine when we ran the same reports in Feb for Jan 2014.
    Do you have any idea why system is behaving like this please?
    Thanks,

    Hi Narasimhulu,
           In report MB5W/MB5L, click the "Current display variant icon" in the next pop-up screen click the position tab and check whether all the material related fields are added or not. If not, move the fields into display list and then check.

    We have Report Server 6.0.8.11.2 on Solaris.
    We are running reports thru URL and it is working fine for PDF and HTML. When we specify the desformat as RTF it gives Segmentation Fault Core dumped.
    We have tried using rwcli60 thru command line and it gives the same error, while PDF and HTML format is fine.
    Is there a patchset for Solaris for the same or are we missing on some parameter?

  • APEX BIP report query output format - not able to set with a variable

    I have a Named Columns (RTF) report that is working great, but I can't control the output format with a variable. I can set the "Output Format" in the Report Query Attributes, but it doesn't work when I set the report output format to "Derive from item". No matter what the item contains, I always get PDF output. I can see the variable in my session, but it doesn't control the output format. I have tried using the values "xml", "XML", "rtf", and "RTF".
    Any help would be appreciated...

    My guess is that an exception is being thrown for some rows. Since you've stubbed out your catch phrase to do nothing you're not going to have any visibility into what exception was thrown. You need to put some kind of logging in the catch phrase to see
    what is happening.

  • Bold, Emphasis formatting not displayed

    I have a report that I'm generating from cf (I bypassed the
    reportbuilder tool). The query pulls all the data from a sql db.
    The report properly inserts line breaks <BR>, however,
    whenever it encounters <em> or <i>, it will not format
    the text properly. In fact, it just seems to insert some empty
    white space, and then continue on after the closing <em> or
    <i> tag. How can I get around this?

    I set fontembed="yes" and now italics and bold html tags
    display properly. :-)
