Report layout and running totals

Hello everyone!
I need to pick some brains. I need some help. I came across with a report where I have to add running totals for each state for years 2012, 2013, 2014 and to next column I have to calculate change in percentage annually. Basically, below the summary table sums the totals for the same years.
Here how it look on excel
I am trying to do the same thing on Crystal reports. Here how it looks:
On the Crystal Reports I have to put that summary table for each state. on the beginning or on the end of the each state.
Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

hi Korhan,
you can do this by Inserting a Cross-tab on the Report Footer. have a look at the attachment...extract the contents and change the .txt extension to .rpt.
right click on the cross-tab and choose Cross-tab Expert. note that there are two Sums on the same field.
exit the cross-tab expert and right click on one of the summaries under YTY change and choose Format Field. under the Common tab look at the formula in the Display String dialogue. this is the formula that does all of the work. it uses the 2nd Sum value in the cross-tab expert and uses the Grid value functions that are available for the cross-tab. you can also go to the online help for crystal reports to learn more about these grid value functions.
you can go back to the cross-tab exerpt then the Customize Style tab to see all of the various formatting options that were used on the cross-tab.
cheers,
jamie

• Report Layout and Report Query APEX tables

Does anyone know a quick way to delete report layouts and report queries from the APEX tables that they are stored in. We currently have to go into the shared components area and delete them one by one using the builder. If we could just get the table that they are stored in and delete them by name, that would be extremely useful. Oracle does not support this type of data manipulation.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi,
There are Top and Bottom – Left and Top and Bottom – Right.
I suppose that you have something wrong in the SQL Query or in the report.
Make a new report using the wizard. Then use Report Template – Standard and Top and Bottom – Left.

• MB51 - report layout and detail list

We are running jobs with MB51 with a specific layout. when the report displays, we click the detail box to convert it to a one line report.
Is it possible t execute MB51 and have the detail list display - so this could be run in the background and the one line list display would be the spool file.
OR - Can I create a one line report with MAterial number oand vendor on each line with quantities, values etc.
thanks
Althea

I finally had a chance to look into this -
All report layouts are using a "header" line and a "Position" line
It is this Header and Position that are making it "not useful" as a download file at this level. As I said - if I click "details" - I get the report I'd really like to see for back ground process spool file or export file.
Any ideas how to create a report layout without the header and position line? or just no header line would work. When I try modifying an existing report - Material and Plant are always on the header line and not available on the position line.
Any and all help will be rewarded - thank you

• How to create crystal report 2008 with running totals?

i want to create a report with running totals as follows:
Balance B/F 1000.00
Invoices     Receipts    Running B/ce
100                            1100
500             600
500             100
300                              400
400                0
The B/F field is passed as a Parameter.

Hi  panayiotis,
In order to create a running total you need to have absolute clarity on the following:
(i)Whether the running total be set on change of field/record/group.
(ii)Whether the running total be set on change of record/group OR never.
Make the appropriate choice.
Apply this to the field to summarize and type of summary in Running Total Pane.
Thanks,
Amogh.

To the best of my knowledge, unless the datasource and the field names are the same in both reports, you'll have to change them in the second report.
Cut and paste takes the text as is and does not do any intelligent updates based on the datasourec & field names.

• Crystal Reports Layout and Time Field

Good evening Crystal Reports and SAP experts:
Beforehand i would like to thank everyone for the support thats always given, i appreciate it very much. Today yet again i find mysefl in a problem, when i try to take the field DocTime from table ORDR (creation time of a sales order) Crystal Reports displays it in a Integer Value format instead of a time format, (Example: 3:23 pm its 323 as number). I was hoping anyone would know how to extract the values as a time format.
Again thanks in advance.

You just need to create formula to split number and show the time format.
Thanks,
Gordon

• ALV Report - Average and Grand total.

Hi,
Could you tell me in ALV, how i can calculate the average of a particular field and display it in the grand total row?
What is the property to display the grand total alone, without the subtotal?

To force a grand total line, first you need to have a field in your internal table that can be totaled, when defining that field in your field catalog, you must set the flag for DO_SUM = 'X', you may also need to set the DATATYPE = 'QUAN'. Then the grand total line will show automatically.

• Running Total Issue or Possibly Formula Issue in Crystal Reports 9

My issue involves two formula's - @TotalTime and @Converted Time and a Running Total (RTotal0).
@TotalTime{Data.ApptTime}/60@Converted Timenumbervar x := {#RTotal0};totext(truncate(x),0,"")" Hrs "totext(remainder(x,truncate(x))*60,0,"") + " Mins"Running Total (RTotal0)

{Data.Resource} <> previous({Data.Resource})
) and
minimum({Data.ApptKind},{Data.ResourceStart}) = 1 AND
maximum({Data.Column},{Data.ResourceStart}) >= '1'
Reset on change of field {Data.Resource}
A little background:My report deals with a Doctors schedule. In the doctors schedule, a appointment is booked and is by default placed into Column 1. It always defaults to Column 1. If the provider elects to double book their time and schedule another patient at the exact same time, the second appointment hits column 2. It expands in essence. It is possible to have up to 4 appointments in one time slot. This is why we wait forever at the Doctors office - appointments get overbooked because patients cancel or no show frequently and the provider would rather have the patients wait then risk no appointment at all. My Client wants the "TOTAL TIME" a provider was "scheduled" to see patients, not the time they actually saw the patients. So if the Provider was scheduled to see patients from 8 am to noon and had patients doublebooked for every time slot, I only want to report the overall time he saw patients regardless of the doublebooking, triplebooking or quadruplebooking. So the total time for my example should be 4 hours not 8 hours. The good news is this is painfully close to being correct! What is currently happening, is if the schedule contains more than 1 facility the time calculates wrong. I think my issue may be in the running Total but not 100% sure. I need it to calculate time on each facility - {Data.Facility}.

From 7:15 am to 11:45 am, Patients were treated at Facility 1: River Oaks Main Clinic *** (total time = 4 hours 30 min)

From 1:00 pm to 3:15 pm, Patients were treated at Facility 1: River Oaks Main Clinic *** (total time = 2 Hours 15 min)
The report should tell me Total time at River Oaks Main Clinic = 6 Hours 45 min and 45 min for Western Medical Hospital. What it currently is doing, is reporting the 6 Hours 45 min on the River Oaks Main Clinic and 7 Hours 30 min on the Western Medical Hospital. The time for this facility should be 45 minutes, yet its taking the full provider time and throwing it into this second facility. I am assuming its because the Running total tells it "Reset on change of field {Data.Resource}". Somehow, I need it to evaluate on both the Resource and the Facility. Any suggestions?

• How to Summarized Running Total and Formula ????

Hi my name is Ryan, I want to ask something. I have build a report
that contains Running totals and Formula. What I want to do is I want
to use subtotal and Summary field for the running total and Formula,
but I can find the field when I click the dropdownlist in the Subtotal
dialog box or summary field for the running total and the formula. Is
there any way that I can use subtotal or summary field for Running
Totals and formula, I do need some help guys, Thanks. FYI: I use Visual Studio.NET 2003; ASP.NET(C#).regards

Hi kcheeb, thanks for your advice but it doesn't work sorry. By the way maybe I can explain you more of twisted situation.I have updated my report,
so im not using runningtotals any more, I'm using summary field and
formula which are;-the summary field is "Sum of SuspenseVoucher.Realisation" located in Group Footer #3: SuspenseMstr.ProgramID-The formula is "@Balance_Formula" which contain:{SuspenseMstr.Budget}
- Sum ({SuspenseVoucher.PenggunaanBudget}, {SuspenseMstr.ProgramID})
also located in the same location as summary field above.FYI: I have three group records which are:-Group #1 : SuspenseMstr.APDate (Appearing in months e.g January 2007)-Group
#2 : programCategoryMstr.programCategoryID (doesn't have any objects I
just put some dashed line, the group is only for proper sorting)-Group #3: SuspenseMstr.ProgramIDwhat I want to do is:-in the Group Footer #3, I already put "Sum of SuspenseVoucher.Realisation" and "@Balance_formula"-in
the Group Footer #2, I want to put Summary of Budget but there's a
problem in here too, in the budget field there are some data are
conditionally suppressed. I already tried to put some summary field but
the summary operation wasn't like what I wanted. What I wanted was the
sum only evaluate the data that appeared in the report not the
suppressed, but in the summary the suppressed data keep evaluated. And
in this location I also want to put Summary of "Sum of
SuspenseVoucher.Realisation" and the Sum of the @Balance_formula.-
in the Group Footer #1, I want to add some Summary of "Sum of Budget"
(which I already explained that this operation has a problem) and I
also want to put the Sum of "Summary of Sum of
SuspenseVoucher.Realisation" and the Sum of "Sum of @Balance_formula"-And in the Report Footer I want to add some Grand Total from all of the evaluation above.So
there are my problems, quite much I would say. I hope this explanation
helping all of you guys to solve my problem, thanks for spending your
valuable time for me. This matter is really important for me 'cause I
want to learn something new from all of you experts as I'm still a
"toddler" in this situation and also because I work in this field, so a
BIG thank you for all of you guys out there. Best Regards.

• Report layout in french not displaying french characters properly

Hello,
I have a report layout that I have created with a 3rd party tool (j4ldesigner). All it has on it is one label (displaying a couple of french characters as a test
). Within APEX I have created a test report layout and imported it as a named column report layout type. I then created a very simple report query and associated it with the test layout. When I run the test report, the layout launches but the characters éâ appear as éâ.
So I'm thinking this has to do with language somehow. I have other reports which are generic named column reports, but those are manually entered and seem to work fine. The named column layout is imported, and I'm assuming some sort of conversion is happening where those special french language characters are concerned.
The fact is this is a 11.2.0.3 database. I was assuming the language set would use the standard language librariy files which come with 11G (ie $ORACLE_HOME/nls/data) so I wouldn't have an issue. Since it is not working, do I need to use the language files associated with 9idata? Or is there an init.ora parameter I am missing?

Hello,
Within APEX I have created a test report layout and imported it as a named column report layout type.Make sure the Report Layout File is in UTF-8 encoding. Most of the times, the issue is with file encoding type.
If you use text editors like [url http://notepad-plus-plus.org]notepad++ you can see and convert from one encoding to other.

• Running Total Value or Zero

Post Author: jligget
CA Forum: Formula
Good afternoon,
I have a 2 running totals that sums either debits or credits. There may be cases where there are no credits so in place of the sum I need to place zero's.
The running total has a formula in it of {@detail transaction code} in ['22', '32'] and if so it then sums the amount field. (22 or 32 desingate a credit - I have another running total for a debit)
The problem is that if no credits exist nothing gets summed and I get spaces in my running total field. How can I make it so that it will display zeros instead?
Thanks,

• Running Total Creation in Deski

Hello Experts,
I am trying to convert crystal report in to Deski report which demands defining all the formulas manually into deski.
In my crystal report, I have running total field u201CPackageMou201D which should be evaluated on change of u201Cdemou201D group. I want to define the same thing in Deski report.
I tried using following formula:
=RunningSum(<PackageMO>;<demo>)
However it is not working. Any help would be really appreciated.

Chinmay,
Could you give a small example of what you are expecting as a result and what you are getting now?

• Translate report layouts (Shared Components)

Hi,
I create in my application PDF using shared components (Report Queries and Report Layouts) and the BI Publisher. The queries I have deposited in Report Qieries and templates in report layouts. The call is done via the URL (which appears in the report query). Now I have translated my application and see that the titles of my templates are not visible with the xlife file. How can I translate the report layout from the Shared Components.

• Running Totals Maybe?

I am fairly new to Crystal Reports and Running Totals. I have a group setup that is based on the number of days a loan is late. For example, I have three buckets (30 Days, 60 Days, 90 Days). In setting up the group, I put the group in specific order and decided to exclude the other loans that are less than 30 days. I am trying to get a total $ amount of all the loans instead of just the loans in the buckets. I have searched forums and a Crystal 2008 book trying to figure this out. I tried using a Running Total with the Running Total expert but it is still giving me the same grand $ total that I have for the groups I selected. Any ideas? I am bit confused as to the multipassing of the data. Should I keep the groups setup the way I have them or use the select expert (etc).
Thanks, I am a newbie.

i suggest manual running totals, more accurate and if you have duplicate values the summary option will duplicate the data
create 3 formuls
i reset
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar x:= 0;
this gets placed in the group header
calculate
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar x:= x + field or formula;
this gets placed next to the field or formula you want calculated
display
whileprinitngrecords;
numbervar x;
x
this gets displayed in the footer of where the reset is (header)
using manual running totals, if you have data on the report you dont want included you can create a formula that will only calc based upon only what should be included.
