Report painter report GL acount text not appearing

Hi,
We have just upgraded from 4.7 to ECC 6.0.
The rpeort painter reports accessing FI-SL tables are not working properly.
The lead column is displaying GL account number twice in ECC 6.0.
However in 4.7 it is working correctly with GL account number along with description of the GL account.
Please help me in solving this.
Thanks a lot,
Nitish

Hi

  • Report Painter: FAGLFLEXT, profit-center authorization not checked

    Hi colleagues,
I am using a Z*-library in report painter based on FAGLFLEXT.
When a report beads on this library is executed, there is no authorization check for profit-center (profit-center groups,…). Wether auth. Object K_PCA is checked nor an entry in RESPAREA.
When I execute a report from FGI3 transaction (also based on FAGLFLEXT) I can see that RESPAREA is checked with PCxxxxyyyy (xxxx = comp. code, yyyy is profit-center).
I thought that, based on the information in the IMG node “activate authorization check for profit centers” which appears if FIN_GL_CI_1 is active, that PC authorization check for reporting is ALWAYS working and I guess, in the mentioned system the authorization check was working before the last support package upgrade.
The important text from the SAP IMG node “activate authorization check for profit centers”: “The profit center display authorization for reporting is not affected by this setting. The system always checks this authorization, be it in drilldown reporting or the Report Painter / Report Writer reports.”
The system is ECC60 on SAPKH60023, so FIN_GL_CI_1 is not available, but I believe, the auth. check for profit-center in report painter reports should work fine without this.
Does anybody know if in ECC60 with a report painter library using FAGLFLEXT the profit-center authorization is checked, which auth. object is checked,...?

  • Report painter - Choosing column heading text

    Hi SDN
I'm having a specific problem with getting the right column heading text into my G/L report painter report created in FGI2/FGI5. In the report painter form I have created the three texts for my column (short, medium and long text). In order for the heading to be meaningful I need the report to show the medium or long text. This is also the case when I run the report as object type Object list. Here the medium text is displayed. However, when I run the report as a Classic drilldown report or a Graphical report output the short column heading text is shown.
Now, I know from running the standard report 0SAPBLNCE-01 in FGI0 that it is possible to have the long column header text shown in the report, so I'm not willing to give up. But can any of you guys help me on how to make the report show the correct text?
    Kind rgds
    Steen Koefoed

Hi Anna and thanks for your suggestion. I have tried changing the header text length in the form as you suggested, but it does not seem to affect the display in neither of the three output types of the report. I assume that there must be a way to control the text header length specifically for each of the three output types. But how....

  • Process/stpes to modify the report painter reports...

    Hi,
I want to modify the report painter report. Could anybody tell me how can we do this. Where can we do this and it would be helpful if any body advise with the steps.
The requirement is to add one line in the current report painter report and remove one line from it.
    Regards....

    Hi,
Modifying a report painter report is very similar to creating the report itself. Below mentioned are the steps in general, please use them as per your requirement.
From the relevant application, choose Tools->Report Painter->Report->Create.
The Report Painter: Create Report screen appears.
You can also create Report Painter reports from any Report Writer screen. To do so, choose Report Writer->Report Painter-> Create report.
Enter the name of the library the report is to use, and a name and description for the report. The report name can be a maximum of eight characters long. If you want to create your report using an existing Report Painter report as a basis, enter the name of the report that you want to copy under Copy from. Both reports must use the same library.
Choose Create. The next screen displays an empty report containing four rows and four columns (this is the basic structure for a report). You define your report on this screen.
Enter or change the description for the report by double-clicking the report description field.
A dialog box appears in which you can enter a short, medium, and long text for the report description.
Define the rows of your report.Rows contain a combination of characteristic values or formulas. Note the lead column at the first position of the rows. The Report Painter uses the lead column to access the rows. You can replace the description Lead column with a different term.
Define the columns of your report. Columns contain a combination of a basic key figure and optional restricting characteristic values. You can also use predefined key figures to present key figures and characteristics that make business sense. For example, a number of predefined key figures are delivered for the libraries in Overhead Cost Controlling that can be copied directly into the reports, where they can be modified as required.
Define general data selection criteria. The general data selection criteria restrict data selection for the report.
Choose Save and then Execute to create the report. Assign the report to a report group.
You have to display the report before you execute it, so that you can later change the report layout directly from the report list. Once you have defined a report, you can display and print out a table of contents with Extras->Overview.
The overview contains the characteristics and characteristic values used in the individual sections, column blocks, and general data selection criteria. It also provides general information such as the user who last changed the report, the report name, and the standard layout assigned to the report, as well as details on the report formats.
If you double-click an individual characteristic, you can see where this characteristic is used in the report definition.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need an specific information.

  • Execute report painter report in background

    Hi All,
I have created new library, report group and a new report in report painter, the report is working fine if we execute in foreground, but if we execute in background then the values are blank.

  • Report Painter Report - Leading White Spaces in Cost Element

When calling up a report painter report, e.g. S_ALR_87013613, with cost element characteristic in Office integration/Microsoft Excel as output parameters, the cost element (row item) is indented with white spaces.  The number of white spaces seems to be in relation with summation levels (sub-totals) visible in the left panel.  For some cost centres that only have limited transactions, such as no posting to salary account group, there are less levels of summation, meaning less leading white space in cost elements.  Is there any way to eliminate or have a fixed number of leading white spaces in cost elements?
We export the report to Excel worksheet for further processing.  VLOOKUP function is used to read the cost element into another workbook.  The inconsistent number of leading white spaces creates a problem for the formulas to work properly.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hello,
There are different ways of downloading the report to excel. One option is
System ==> List ==> save (to local file)
    Please try with other options.
If still not working, then the work around would be
You can put ctrl+H (replace all spaces)
    Then text to columns
    Hope this works.

  • Report painter report in portal - Excel output in SAP GUI for HTML

    Dear sirs,
I need your expertize. I would like to let my users display (Excel in place)/ save the result of my report painter reports into MS Excel. I have found notes 499262 a 314568, but didn´t understand the message (or there is no message:)). Does that mean I cannot use Excel in place together with Report painter and SAP GUI for HTML?
Second question: is there a place (user exit in generated code? I don´t even know what I am looking for) to get the data provided by the report painter engine and send the retrieved data to some custom function (to be able to call the Adobe form, to save it as a text file or any option how to manipulate the resulting data...?).
thank you for your time and effort,
    regards Otto

    Hi Otto,
You can send print the report to the spool and then use RSTXPDFT4 program to convert this spool to PDF file. Alternatively, you can export the spool to spreadsheet or ASCII file via SP01 transaction.
Additinally, I'm not aware of unability to use Excel output with SAP GUI interface.

  • How to translate Report Painter Reports (GRRT or other solution)?

    Hello All,
We need to translate Report Painter Reports, and it doesn't seem that it can be done using SE63.
The transaction, <b>GRRT, Report Painter->Translate Reports</b>, may be the one to use, but we cannot find any documentation on this transaction. (not even on sap.help.com). The only translation references we could find for Report Painter were regarding translating currency. We need to translate the text content into different languages.
Can you provide any information or links to material about GRRT? Or do you know of an alternate solution to translate Report Painter report content?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Lisa

    Hi All,
I  recommend that you use transaction SE63. This enables you to translate what you need:
    1) Selection texts for reports: SE63 -> Translation -> Short Texts ->    ABAP -> Program texts -> Enter program name, source and target    language and choose Edit.
    2) Report Writer texts (what you have been using the G* transactions    for): SE63 -> Translation -> Long Texts -> SAPscript -> Report Writer    -> Enter name of library, source and target language and choose Edit. You can find documentation on transaction SE63 by choosing Help -> Application Help while you are working in this transaction. The section on Transport Recording also contains information on how to transport translations.

    Hi,
Report Writer enables you to report on data from multiple applications. Using functions such as sets, variables, formulas, cells and key figures, you can create complex reports that meet specific reporting requirements.
The Report Painter is similar to the Report Writer, but is simpler to use.The main components of report painter are characterestics and basic key figure.
The majority of reports end users use in the R/3 System is Report Painter reports. Most of these reports (@ 80+ %) began as Report Writer reports.
The major difference is Report Painter uses a graphical interface (analogous to Notepad and MS Word).
Very few R/3 users employ Report Writer – however, many still use, modify and develop reports using Report Painter. Report Painter permits complex groupings and drill-down reporting – very useful for such applications as FI-CO and SD. It can also be used interactively – allowing users to enter variables for specific steps; thereby permitting ‘drill-across' functionality.
However, Report Painter does have its limitations; it can display only numeric data (excluding column headers) – therefore, short text, etc. is not available. It is much easier (quicker) to modify than ABAP and requires no ABAP expertise – however, many combine Report Painter with ABAP reports to fill-in many of the missing pieces. Layout design is archaic and rudimentary ~ therefore; many use Report Painter to ‘retrieve and massage the data' and eventually export it into Excel for end use.

  • Function Modules to Execute Report Painter Report

    Hi Experts,
May I know if there is any way to execute the GR55 Report Painter reports, and get the report result back as a table?
I need this to write a program to export the result to a external system.
    Many thanks!!!
    Regards,
    Chris

I am actually expecting a ABAP way to do so, but not to do that in foreground manually.
I found the solution anyway by using the below sample code:
    *&      Form  frm_retrieve_data
          text:Get report painter Result
    FORM frm_retrieve_data .
DATA:lt_params  TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF alv_s_param_wp,

           lwa_msg    LIKE LINE OF gt_msg,
           lv_dcpfm   TYPE xudcpfm.
      CLEAR:gt_data,gt_msg.
    Set report painter Paramters
      lwa_params-pname = '$PARAMETER[$ZRYEAR0'.
      lwa_params-pvalue = sy-datum+0(4).
      APPEND lwa_params TO lt_params .
      lwa_params-pname = '$PARAMETER[$ZBUKRS0'.
      lwa_params-pvalue = 'JNPC'.
      APPEND lwa_params TO lt_params .
      lwa_params-pname = '$PARAMETER[$ZBUKRS1'.
      lwa_params-pvalue = 'JNPC'.
      APPEND lwa_params TO lt_params .
      lwa_params-pname = '$PARAMETER[$ZF-RP00'.
      lwa_params-pvalue = sy-datum+4(2).
      APPEND lwa_params TO lt_params .

  • Add Report painter report to Role Menu

    Hi
I want to add a a report painter report to existing role. In PFCG when I click on Report and select report writer radio button, system prompts me to select report group. When I select this option, system does not show all the reports available within this group so that I can select the one which I want to add and have system generate transaction code Y_DEV_99* for this report. How Can I add report painter report to a role have system generate trans code for it??

    Marthinsh,
I am aware that you can export/import or transport the reports in themselves - but not their names. In a way I never clearly understood, they are not attached to their names as such.
But then ...      we do agree, you can only authorise by group.

  • Zero balance display in report painter reports

    Hi all,
I have an issue with some report painter reports where the "print zero balances" flag is switched on in both the report and the section layouts, however the accounts are still not appearing on the report.
The accounts do not have any postings in the current year and the Bal carried fwd was zero in all profit centres but my client would still like to see a zero value on the report.  Any suggestions?
    Many thanks
    Phil.

Also, when I display the balance of the accounts that appear on the report in FAGLB03, I get a screen showing a zero balance in all periods.
When I display the balance of the accounts which do not appear on the report in FAGLB03, i get the message that "no data exists for fiscal year 2009".
I have tried re-running the balance carry fwd transaction but this has had no affect.
    please help!
