Report - Remove 0's
Hi,
In My Report, I am facing a problem regarding leading 0's...means in LFA1 table, i can find vendor no. easily like 10120 but in WITH_ITEM table, when i m inserting vendor no. like 10120, it not shows the data...but when i inserting vendor no. "0000010120", it shows the values.
From this, my report not showing the vendor data..
Plz tell me how can i remove this issue..
Any code there or any other thing is required..
Thanks...
Hi,
Use this Fm : 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'.That will solve ur issue.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'

OUTPUT = VENDOR NO
Hope it is helps.

Is there any way to retrieve reports removed by the PRCSYSPURGE
Hi everyone. I am trying to retrieve the last month reports but by default in process scheduler system settings the retention days is set to 7 days it was automatically purge the all process run types. Can any one know how to retrieve the those reports.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks & Regards,
Siva Prasad BYou could possibly try looking in the Report Repository. If you are not sure where that path is, you can look at the Report Node Definition to find out. PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Report Nodes. For me, it is in the "Network Path" at the bottom of the screen. Another location you can look is in the Web Profile -- PeopleTools > Web Profile > Web Profile Configuration. Again, at the bottom of the screen, you should see "Report Repository Path".
In the Repository Path, you would see one folder for each environment. Go into your environment's folder. Then, you should see a folder for each date. I haven't changed the default 7 day rule, and I still have folders from back in 2010, so you might be able to still get the reports. I am not sure.
You wouldn't be able to open these from online (like in Process Monitor), but if something hasn't deleted the report file from the repository directory, you should still be able to view the reports.
Hope that helps. -

Security in FR Reports removed when re-importing
We needed to make some changed to all FR Reports (100+) so in Workspaces Explorer we chose to:
1) Export the entire FR folder(including subfolders) by clicking File\Export
2) Make the changes (updated the Related Content link) to the *.des files
3) Import thru workspace by clicking File\Import
However, when we do this the original Reports will be overwritten, but then we loose the Security we assigned on the Reports. Where can we export the Security assigned on the Reports AND Folders for FR so that we do not have to reassign security?
Appreciate the assistance!
RobertIf you are on version 9.3.1 there isn't a way. And we had the same heartburn. And in some instances the apply permissions to children didn't always work. this feature is very flaky

Interactive reports - Removing search field from html export
Hi,
I have an IR with "download formats" HTML enable , set within Report atributes.
I disabled search bar (also search field).
I have a button with request=HTMLD .
The html file saved is ok , except that it contain a search field.
How to generate the html export , without this "search field".
Thanks.Hi, Andre.
Thank you for your advice.
I do, however, respectfully disagree.
Think about this from the end users' point of view. Most end users expect ANY criteria (lwhether it be a quick search filter or an explicit filter) to check all columns in a report, not just those displayed. If the user receives a "no data found" message after invoking a quick search filter, what should they do: begin adding each of the hidden columns one at a time to see if the "no data found" message goes away? That would get very frustrating. And I believe it would be equally frustrating if users got inconsistent results based on the type of filter applied. Using an explicit filter searches all report columns while a quick search filter only checks displayed columns-- confusing for end users.
This has been my experience and see these reactions from end users.
In any case, that's my two cents on it.
Again, thank you for your help. It is appreciated.

How do I report / remove comments?
I've had my comments removed but I don't see how to remove other people's comments that are irrelevant to the question I post.
You can't. Only the Hosts (Moderators) can remove posts, and they do this when a post has breached the Terms of Use - for example by ranting rather than asking a question, trying to discuss or speculate about Apple's future policy, or plain rudeness. When a post is removed for this reason the perpetrator is advised by email.
However your may have had posts removed because they were a response to a post which has been removed, and so would have no function - you wouldn't be notified in that case.
Decisions on what to remove are entirely up to the Hosts, though posters at Level 2 and above can draw the Hosts' attention to anything which seems dubious.
If you have a serious reason for wanting a post removed - personal abuse, for example - then post the details here and someone will probably alert the Hosts to it. However simple irrelevance isn't likely to get a post removed. -

It is possbile but not suggested to change a standard SAP report. but you may change it via abaper. -
Our customer created a query. The customer then created a report using the "Create Report" function under the Query Manager function in SAP B1. Now they want to delete the query and also delete the report from the list.
How is a report removed from that list???
Thanks ahead of time for your information...
ZalTools->Queries->Query Print Layout, double click on raport to delete. After opened editor, choose Print Layout Designer->Delete Layout, thats all

Hi Friends
Can you please tell me how to get a report of pending invoices for which GR s were done (also for partially done GR s).
This should be based on Purchase Org, Purch. group, vendor wise.
Standard reports MB5S and ME2N will not provide all the details.
The report should include the following:
Purch. Grooup
Vendor
Vendor Name
Purch.Doc.
Item
Mat. Document Number
DC Number
DC Date
mat Doc. Qty.
OUn
GR value
Quantit y invoiced
Invoice amount LC
Crcy
Early reply is appreciated, as it is very urgent
Regards
ManthiniHi
Yes. Standard reports will not give you inputs.
It's not easy to link material documents with invoice either.
If you are using GR based invoice verification, then fine.
Did you check MR11 ? However, you have to be careful not to do any postings here.
This will have PO, material document etc. But DC no--no;
Copy this report, remove posting related code and add code to get DC no etc from MKPF for the given material document.

Performance Issue Crystal Report and Oracle
Hello,
We have one procedure that takes 3 input parameters and returns Cursor from Procedure that is used to design the report. There is no caluculation involved here and cursor is opended dynamically. We are using Oracle Native connection.
When we click on preview button it takes lots of time ( >10 Mins) to show complete data. While we call the same procedure in application and generate HTML report using Cursor returned it is done in < 15 Seconds. Can some point me where to look into to improve the performance of Crystal Report.
DB: Oracle 10G
CR: Version XIHi Vadiraja
The performance of a report is related to:
External factors:
1. The amount of time the database server takes to process the SQL query.
( Crystal Reports send the SQL query to the database, the database process it, and returns the data set to Crystal Reports. )
2. Network traffics.
3. Local computer processor speed.
( When Crystal Reports receives the data set, it generates a temp file to further filter the data when necessary, as well as to group, sort, process formulas, ... )
4. The number of record returned
( If a sql query returns a large number of records, it will take longer to format and display than if was returning a smaller data set.)
Report design:
1. Where is the Record Selection evaluated.
Ensure your Record Selection Formula can be translated in SQL, so the data can be filter down on the server, otherwise the filtering will be done in a temp file on the local machine which will be much slower.
They have many functions that cannot be translated in SQL because they may not have a standard SQL for it.
For example, control structure like IF THEN ELSE cannot be translated into SQL. It will always be evaluated in Crystal Reports. But if you use an IF THEN ELSE on a parameter, it will convert the result of the condition to SQL, but as soon as uses database fileds in the conditions it will not be translated in SQL.
2. How many subreports the report contains and in section section they are located.
Minimise the number of subreports used, or avoid using subreports if possible because
subreports are reports within a report, and if you have a subreport in a details section, and the report returns 100 records, the subreport will be evaluated 100 times, so it will query the database 100 times. It is often the biggest factor why a report takes a long time to preview.
3. How many records will be returned to the report.
Large number of records will slow down the preview of the reports.
Ensure you only returns the necessary data on the report, by creating a Record Selection Formula, or basing your report off a Stored Procedure, or a Command Object that only returns the desired data set.
4. Do you use the special field "Page N of M", or "TotalPageCount"
When the special field "Page N of M" or "TotalPageCount" is used on a report, it will have to generate each page of the report before it displays the first page, therfore it will take more time to display the first page of the report.
If you want to improve the speed of a report, remove the special field "Page N of M" or "Total Page Count" or formula that uses the function "TotalPageCount". If those aren't use when you view a report it only format the page requested.
It won't format the whole report.
5. Link tables on indexed fields whenever possible.
6. Remove unused tables, unused formulas, unused running totals from the report.
7. Suppress unnecessary sections.
8. For summaries, use conditional formulas instead of running totals when possible.
9. Whenever possible, limit records through selection, not suppression.
10. Use SQL expressions to convert fields to be used in record selection instead of using formula functions.
For example, if you need to concatenate 2 fields together, instead of doing it in a formula, you can create a SQL Expression Field. It will concatenate the fields on the database server, instead of doing in Crystal Reports. SQL Expression Fields are added to the SELECT clause of the SQL Query send to the database.
11. Using one command as the datasource can be faster if you returns only the desired data set.
It can be faster if the SQL query written only return the desired data.
12. Perform grouping on server
This is only relevant if you only need to return the summary to your report but not the details. It will be faster as less data will be returned to the reports.

Hello,
I am migrating an application from APEX 3 to APEX 4.2 on one thing I notice with the classic reports when I bring them into Template 23 is that the first break section has the break row display below the column headers for that section while the remaining rows correctly have it display above the headers on subsequent group sections.
When I look a the code in firebug I can seen that the all tables but the first, the break row is being included as the last row of the previous table so I can see how this would not work for the break since.
I have tow questions.
1. Is this really intentional because it doesn't seem terribly elegant and my users zeroed in on it right away as a perceived bug.
2. Is there a reasonable work around that still uses Repeat Headings on Break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so changing over to interactive reports is not a silver bullet for me in this case.
Example of issue can be seen at apex.oracle.com at Home
Thanks,

1. Is this really intentional because it doesn't seem terribly elegant and my users zeroed in on it right away as a perceived bug.
The Standard report template definition in theme 23 contains thead and tbody elements:
Before Column Heading
<thead>
Column Heading Template
<th #ALIGNMENT# id="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#">#COLUMN_HEADER#</th>
After Column Heading
</thead>
<tbody>
After Rows
</tbody>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
<tbody class="uReportPagination">
#PAGINATION#
</tbody>
</table>
<div class="uReportDownloadLinks">#EXTERNAL_LINK##CSV_LINK#</div>
This is intentional, following best practice for marking up HTML tables. What is not intended is the problem that arises when this template is used with the Repeat Headings on Break break formatting option. The repeated headings result in the table consisting of tag soup containing multiple incorrectly constructed tbody and thead elements, which is invalid.
2. Is there a reasonable work around that still uses Repeat Headings on Break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so changing over to interactive reports is not a silver bullet for me in this case.
Create a copy of the Standard report template as Standard (break formatting) for use with break reports, remove the thead and tbody tags from the template definitions, and change the break reports to use the new template. (Or, if you primarily have break reports using the Standard template, keep the tags in the copy and remove them from the original to minimize the number of reports you have to edit.)
Personally I'd create a custom row report template for complex break reports in order to be able to have complete control over the structure and presentation. -

This only happens when a particular subreport (that contains a sql image) prints (based on an input parameter). We have other subreports (within this same report) that print a sql image just fine. But, when this subreport prints, the above error appears.
I can run the same report on an XP machine without error.
Exportmodeller.dll and crtsv.dll are both installed and registered to the
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin folder
I have tried opening the report, removing the image, and then adding it back in again to the subreport.
Still receive the same error.
Any suggestions?>

Don,
Can you please clarify?
Our VB6 app that uses Crystal XI RDC runtime components. Our Crystal reports are edited in CR2008 SP1 developer edition (not through the VB.NET embedded report designer). We have deployed the CRXIRelease 2 runtime components (via the merge module) to our client machines in order to execute the RDC.
We can print/preview/export to excel, but the pdf creation is failing with this error.
We are only using the RDC (which we know is no longer supported) because of huge issues with the Crystal for .NET methods we are having with our customers (I have an active case for this issue). Therefore, we have to rollback our .NET product and revert to the RDC code.
Vista is failing to create a PDF for a report developed in the CR2008 SP1 developer edition when using the RDC.
When you say "Also, those old dll's will not work in CR 2008. Last patches will give you the option to export to Excel in Legacy mode. We built it into our export dll.", what do you mean by "will not work in CR2008"?
Thank you
