Report service not processing any new jobs 10.1.2.0.2

I seem to have a job that is 'stuck' in the report queue when I start the report service through opmnctl.
Windows Server 2003
Server version is 10.1.2.0.2
I set the trace options to trace_all, which has given me the following snippet from the rwserver.trc file:

The final two lines then repeat continuously.
If another job is submitted through the application, the application displays a message that printing is in progress, but the job is never picked up by an engine (the conf file specifies 8 engines). The following is then written to the trace file:
[2008/6/3 3:6:28:404] Debug 50103 (ConnectionImpl:runJob): Job queue for jobid = 48 is 0
[2008/6/3 3:6:28:404] Debug 50103 (ConnectionImpl:runJob): jobid = 48 is in current queue

[2008/6/3 3:6:29:279] Debug 50103 (JobManager:findDuplicatedJob): Found no duplicated job for job 34
Again, those last 2 lines continue to repeat.
I have deleted the row with job_id 34 from rw_server_job_queue, restarted the report process, but the engine still tries to run this job.
This problem is currently in a test environment. Our support department has encountered this recently twice and resolved it by re-installing the software. They can do this in 40 minutes, as opposed to spending hours trying to diagnose with potentially no solution. I'd like to be able to fix this in the test environment so they can be better prepared if it should happen sometime in production.
Can anybody offer a suggestion what I should be looking into next? Please let me know if I haven't included enough info.
Many thanks.

After some trial and error, we found that a particularly badly written report was taking 10 minutes to process (it really should have only taken a few seconds). The users were getting impatient, killing the application from their terminal, and resubmitting the report, over and over and over....
We re-wrote the query in the report, and with the report processing in an acceptable time, we did not re-experience the issue.

    Hi,
    As we only have one report experienced this timeout issue. Given this situation, we can try the following steps to narrow down the issue:
    1.Run the report directly through SSRS report manager URL to test if we still get this issue.
    2.If yes, increase the timeout limitation for this single report.
    3.As for further investigation, we can enable SSRS verbose logging by referring to the following steps:
    Enabling verbose log in Reporting Services Instance :
    To enable the verbose logging for the Reporting Services instance you have to follow below steps.
    Go to location
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
    Find the ReportingServicesService.exe.config
    file, make a copy first, and then open it in editor and change the below configuration.
    <system.diagnostics>
        <switches>
          <add name="DefaultTraceSwitch" value="4" />
        </switches>
      </system.diagnostics>
      <RStrace>
        <add name="FileName" value="ReportServerService_" />
        <add name="FileSizeLimitMb" value="32" />
        <add name="KeepFilesForDays" value="14" />
        <add name="Prefix" value="appdomain, tid, time" />
        <add name="TraceListeners" value="file" />
        <add name="TraceFileMode" value="unique" />
        <add name="HttpTraceFileName" value="ReportServerService_HTTP_" />
        <add name="HttpTraceSwitches" value="date,time, clientip,username,serverip,serverport,host,method,uristem,uriquery,protocolstatus,bytesreceived,timetaken,protocolversion,useragent,cookiereceived,cookiesent,referrer"
    />
        <add name="Components" value="all:4,reportrendering:4,http:4" />
      </RStrace>
    You have to restart the Reporting Services from Reporting Services configuration manager.
    4.After enable the verbose logging, reproduce this issue again by running the report, record the timestamp when we start the report, when the error popped up.
    5.Then check SSRS log files at the following path, in the file which contain the issue time, check if there is any error message.
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles

    I dont mean to rude. but I have seen the same response to others over the past month.  I have been keeping up w/ check status from the link provided in my order confirmation.  At this point your depts management should be demanding more detailed info on order status.  They have you customer service folks answering these question blindly, wasting your time and mine and ultimately costing verizon money which they will pass along to me and the other millions of customers out there.  If you cannot give me a more detailed answer please escalate this to someone who can.  Thank you.

  • Webcenter - You do not have any New Start Menus

    After importing a site, admin interface of MySites show 'You do not have any New Start Menu'.
    I tried to enable all assests:
    MySites's admin interface --> admin tab's --> All Sites --> MySites --> this shows only default limited assets, not all of them so I can enable them.
    Even import shows success msg with logging of all assets.

    Hi,
    If you are concerned about missing asset types, i.e. you do not see certain asset type(s) in the list of asset types to be enabled, then I would suggest to re-import resources=@ASSET_TYPE:* to your site in question.
    If you are concerned about missing startmenu items, see if you can find them in Admin tab > Start Menu > New/Search/New Insite/etc...
    If the start menus are there, you will just need to modify the startmenu items and enable them for your site. Alternately, you may also disable and re-enable the corresponding asset type(s), which will ask if you want to enable some existing start menu items for the current site.
    If the start menus are not there, I would suggest to re-import resources=@STARTMENU:* to your sites in question.
    NOTE: Before re-importing anything from the existing CSDT workspace, you should make sure the resources you are trying to import were correctly exported and exist in your workspace.
    Thanks,
    Yu-Chun

  • Problems with ios7; I can not download any new App

    In general, I feel the new ios7 makes my ipod 5 slow, it has had a couple of problems, most of them minor or have a simple solution, or can be ignored while they fix it... what I can not ignore is that I can not download ANY new App...
    I have been able to update a couple of them, though they have been very slow, now when I try to download something new, it seems like it'll work, but it never asks for my password as it used to and it never appears in the screen as downloading or anything. It is like if they'd just get stuck and waiting for it to react...
    ¿anyone else has had this problem? ¿advice? ¿solutions?

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and sign ut and sign back in
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Installed SQL Reporting Services 2012 on SharePoint 2013 Server. SQL Reporting Service not available In the list of runnning services or new service applications

    Hi I'm trying to setup SQL reporting services in a SharePoint 2013 farm consisting of:
    4 WFE's
    4 App Servers (NLB Central Admin x 4 servers)
    4 App Severs for SSRS (Light limited SharePoint services running)
    I've installed SSRS 2012 SP1 by following the guide (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492276.aspx) on one of the SSRS SharePoint 2013 servers and ensuring Reporting Services - SharePoint and Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products is selected.
    All completed without errors and I have even upgraded to SP2 for troubleshooting but no joy.
    I've then gone into SharePoint Central Admin and I cannot see SQL Reporting Service available In the list of runnning services on the server I have just installed SSRS on and going to manage service applications I cannot see in the new dropdown menu SQL
    Reporting Services.
    I have ran the following commands in the SHarePoint management shell:
    Install-SPRSService and Install-SPRSSeviceProxy
    and
    get-spserviceinstance -all |where {$_.TypeName -like "SQL Server Reporting*"} | Start-SPServiceInstance
    The reply was that the service was already online on the server.
    So in powershell all seems ok but it does not appear in central administration.
    I have also moved Central Administration to the SSRS SharePoint server too.
    Any other suggestions? Here is the same problem but in SP2010 (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/6a21cc05-1f9b-49ad-a9bb-44aa5b3ce312/action?threadDisplayName=after-installing-sql-reporting-services-service-for-sharepoint-2012-service-is-not-in-the-list-of)
    In my lab environment of a 4 server SP2013 farm it worked immediately when i installed it on the app server (CA host) so I dont think it is my install strategy.
    I guess my next attempt is to install SSRS on an app server with central administration hosted.
    Thanks

    I had the same issue on 2 different environments.
    I had 2 application servers. One had Central Administration. I installed SSRS on the other one and it never appeared in the Service Applications in SharePoint.
    When I also provisioned Central Administration on the other application server and went to the service applications using Central Admin on that server, the SSRS service application was there.
    Since then I always install SSRS on the server which hosts Central Admin. No issues then.
