Report Standards

Post Author: mak
CA Forum: General
Hi Everyone,   At my job my manager ask me to prepare documentation on "Report Design & Coding Standards" for Crystal Reports XI.    I mean she ask me to write down the best "report standards" by keeping in mind that reports get published to "Business Objects Enterprise". And these report standards are going to follow by everyone in reporting department while designing reports.   So please anybody let me know where I can find Report Standards also I am new to report development. Thanks!!

hi,
even your question is really large and generic,
a very good start is this blog,
http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2008/09/obiee-setting-up-compagny-custom-skin.html
also check from the same blog, all the threads related with skin.
The main idea is to have configured all the views...images,logos,colors...and so on...
As far as presentation of "letters" / "numbers" at reports , in the configuration of each column, you can select to be this style default for the whole scenario..(i,e, always calendar.date column has 11-verdana-bold size...and so...)
Your most valuable tool is firebug, with this you can change the css....(more details in blog...)
hope i helped....

Steps to Create Infoset Query (SAP Query)
Steps on how to proceed to create a Query:
    ADHOC QUERY
A query can be created to extract information from master records  i.e  Infotypes.  For example, by creating a query , the data relating to an employee contained in various Infotypes can be extracted.
    Proceedure :
Decide on  the various Infotypes we  want to make the query.  Decide on the area where we  want to query  i.e  Global area or Standard area.  Standard area is client specific and globel area will include all clients.
Menu : HR u2013 PM u2013 Admn -  Information System -  Adhoc Query
Select area standard and select the  user group already created
    Creation of new query  :
TC SQ03  -  Select Environment u2013 Select Standard Area -  Enter  --  If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and  exit after saving
TC SQ02  -  Enter name of the Infoset u2013 Create u2013 enter name of Infoset -  Data source -- >  Table join by basis table u2013 give name of table e.g  pa0000 -  Enter -  Click on insert table if we  want to include more tables u2013 give name of table one by one and after finishing,  place cursor on the joining lines and right click to delete unwanted relationships  - check  - and go back  - field groups  -  include all table fields  - click on generate button   -  go out
TC SQ03  -  Select user group  -   eg.  Payroll
Infoset  - Enter name of newly created Infoset
Assign users and Infosets  -  Assign infosets  -  put tick on payroll  - save and go back
TC  PAAH  -  Expand the nodes and put tick on relevant fields depending upon necessity
Save the query  by giving the same name as infoset for easyness..

  • Can i use crystal reports standard to query ODBC datasources

    Post Author: Andy Forrest
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    Dear all,
I'm struggling to identify if i can use crystal reports standard to query ODBC data-sources, the only information i can find is the following :-
An intuitive solution that provides basic report design functionality off of PC-based data sources, Crystal Reports XI Standard Edition will provide you with access to data stored in personal data sources.
This gives the impression that i cant access any data other than local data, can anyone give me a definitive answer or point me to somewhere that explains in a little more detail.  We are about to purchase some copies but need to ensure crystal reports standard can access ODBC data sources.  We are replacing crystal reports 8 standard edition and need to ensure previous reports will still run.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Cheers
    Andy

Well, you can certainly connect to ODBC with Crystal XI Developer.  I'd be very surprised if you couldn't with the Standard version as well.  Not the definitive answer you were looking for, I suppose.

  • Issued Vendor wise stock Report - Standard

    Dear All,
We are using Subcontracting method in materials management.
Scenario - We indent materials from me51n and place the Material Purchase Order and then Receive the materials which come into the stock at GNST with movement type 101 and then we issue this material to the Contractor (541) and consume ( 543 ) the same material in the service PO in the line item. Is there any standard single report where .
    1. Material indent Qty  - ordered Qty - GR qty - Issued to contractor Qty - Consumed Qty along with the values.
    Regards,
    Farhan

    hi
    >1. Material indent Qty - ordered Qty - GR qty - Issued to contractor Qty - Consumed Qty along with >the values.
not posssible to get it in sngle std report
so go for the abap developement
u can have reference of report ME5A for PR ME80Fn for po and GR report and for subcontracting raw material we can use ME2O report
just try to create new z report with ref of these

  • SAP Report (Standard/ Custom) Requirement

    Dear All,
    I am a SD - Consultant.
In my Project, I have been asked to provide certain Reports:
Report 1: No. of statement sent Sales Org-wise
Report 2: No. of Balance Confirmation sent Sales Org-wise
Report 3: S. Tax Register Customer-wise Accrued for the Month & YTD.
Report 4: S. Tax Register Customer-wise Payable for the Month
Report 5: TDS receivable Customer-wise for the Month & YTD.
Report 6: Rollover Booking for each Customer.
    My doubt is,
    1. All these information are kept in Module: Financials, and the Reports, if Standard available, must be within FI-Module.
    2. If any Customization is required, the format of the Report will be provided by Finance-Personnel and not from Sales/ Delivery team.
Please, help/ guide me on the same and provide your valuable feedback.
    Best Regards,
    Amit
Note: If, there are any Standard Reports available for any of the above Reports, Please lemme know.

    Hi Amit,
You as a functional consultant can do this by 3 ways
1 Through SQL Query - When you simply want to join two tables or want to fetch data from a table & present it in to reporting format.
Its a tool designed for functional consultants who does not know thae ABAP.Transaction code is SQ01
2 Through Report writer / Painter - You can design report & fetch data as per your requirement & format. For this you have to configure Liabrary (GR 21) & then have to define characterstics & key figure.& have to design the format & assign it to report group.
Its a tool designed for functional consultants who does not know thae ABAP.Transaction code is GRR1
3 Through Drill down reporting - For this you have to configure the form layout as per reporting structure & then you have to configure report by attaching this form to report.
    Transaction code is FSI6 & FSI0 - GL
    FDI0 & FDI6 -AR & FKI6 & FKI0 - AP
If these solutions does not cater to your requirement then final resort is to do ABAP programe.

  • Report standard SAP into BSP page

I want know how I can read the output of a standard report SAP R/3 into a BSP page ( WAS 6.20 ).

    Hi Rick,
a short answer would be: create a BSP application and place the code into the onInizialization handler. But since you are completely new to BSP I'd recommend the following links for tutorials:

After you have done this and you still got questions, switch over to the BSP forum. There you'll find a lot more experts.

  • Change report standard header line

    Hi Friends,
I have to change the print of standard header of all reports by using cmod exit S38MREP1.  I have to print User-ID Time and system-ID on each page incl. all SAP standardreports.
    thanks in advance
    Harald

    Hi Harald,
Are you saying about the report output or when we create a report commentted lines that we get.
    Regards,
    Kiran I
If you are saying about the commented lines that we get at the time of creating report then this may not work.
For that you can use table
    TSE05
Inputs for this table are APP_OBJ = 'ADDM' and Keyword = 'REPORT' for report .
reward points if it solved your issue.

  • Report standard from FBL3N and VF03

    Dear Experts,
Is there any SAP standard report if we need data which taken from VF03 (billing no, billing date, batch no, material number , material description), quantity) combined with data from FBL3N (amount in local, amount in document currency, posting date, profit center) ?
    Kindly advice.
    Thank you

    Hi ,
As fas as I know, there is no such standard report in SAP.
    - Better you can use the fields and generate the customized report using "Report Painter", or
    - Give the relevant fields in the form of a Functional specification for the ABAP team to develop.
    Regards'

  • Where can I find reporting standards?

I'm new to xml publisher. Do we have any standards for formatting normal reports (ie. not forms). We should have standards for including logos (ie. oracle, peoplesoft etc), layouts for headers and footers, naming conventions for the reports, etc. Does anyone know where I can find this information?
    Thanks!

Use this link and click the Buy button. Then click the dropdown to change from Full to Upgrade and then choose your present version (see image) and the upgrade price should be displayed. Then click “Add to Cart” You can download from  here

I have installed Crystal Report 2011. It was successful, I was able to create reports using BW Data as source. Is there any standard reports available which I can activate? I tried to get in RSA1 and tried to install, when I try to select objects under Crystal Report (CRWB), nothing happens? Could anyone help? Thanks

  • Reporting Standards

    Hi All,
I am new to sap-abap programming .Can any one of you tell me the SAP standards that are to be followed while writing an abap program ?
Also can I use joins for the four tables at once . I heard that this would have performance issues so we ll go for 'For all entries' . Under what conditions does
joins and ' For all entries'  are same in terms of performance wise.

    hi
    Hi,
    <b>inner join</b>
... FROM tabref1 [INNER] JOIN tabref2 ON cond
    Effect
Selects data from the transparent database tables or views specified in tabref1 and tabref2. tabref1 and tabref2 either have the same form as in variant 1 or are themseleves joine expressions. The key word INNER can be omitted. The database tables or views specified in tabref1 and tabref2 must be recognized in the ABAP-Dictionary.
In a relational data structure, it is quite normal for data that belongs together to be split up across several tables to help standardization (see relational database). To regroup this information in a database query, you can link tables using a join command. This formulates conditions for the columns of the tables involved. An inner join contains all combinations of lines from database table tabref1 with lines from database table tabref2 that meet the condition specified in the logical condition ON cond.
Inner join between table 1 and table 2 where column D sets the join condition:
... <b>FOR ALL ENTRIES</b> IN itab WHERE cond
    Effect
Only selects the records that meet the logical condition cond when each replacement symbol itab-f is replaced with the value of component f of the internal table itab for at least one line of the table. SELECT ... FOR ALL ENTRIES IN itab WHERE cond returns the union of the solution sets of all SELECT statements that would result if you wrote a separate statement for each line of the internal table replacing the symbol itab-f with the corresponding value of component f in the WHERE condition.Duplicates are discarded from the result set. If the internal table itab does not contain any entries, the system treats the statement as though there were no WHERE cond condition, and selects all records.
    Got this from F1 help.
Refer F1 help for sample code.
    <b>
Kindly reward points if u feel the answer helped u, </b>
    regards
