Reports published don't connect to DB in Infoview do connect in CR 2008 dsn

Reports that execute in Crystal Reports 2008 designer do not execute in Infoview after being published.  The CR 2008 designer is connected to a SQL SERVER 2005 database.
Once published, the Infoview version of the report never connects to the database.  The Server and Database name appear as they do in the System DNS.  Once the user name and password are specified, the report still fails to establish a database connection.
Business Objects Infoview Product: 12.1.0
Crystal Reports 2008 Developer Version: 12.2.0.290  Product Type: Full
Any help is appreciated.

On my desktop and on the server, identical DSNs are setup.  On the server also, 32 bit and 64 bit DSNs have been setup.  Based on when changes were made/reflected, it seems as if the 32 bit DSN is the one being recognized.
Infoview is being run from the web.  No software was installed on my desktop that I remember/know of.  Web Intelligence works through Infoview.
Using the Publishing Wizard, the option "Let users update the object" was selected each time.
When the "Publish without modifying properties" option was selected and execution was attempted by double clicking the report in the Document List, the following was displayed:
The report you requested requires further information.
Server name:
Database name:
User name:
Password:
The Server name and Database name displayed matches the System DSN server and database.  It will not allow either of those two fields to be modified.
The User name and Password are entered, and Log On is selected, but it never moves beyond this screen.
When the "Publish without modifying properties" option was selected and execution was attempted by scheduling the report, nothing ever happened.  The parameters were specified, the database logon values were entered, but once the schedule button was selected, nothing happened.  The same page continues to be displayed.
When the "Review or modify properties" option was selected and execution was attempted by double clicking the report in the Document List, the following was displayed:
The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
When the "Review or modify properties" option was selected and execution was attempted by scheduling the report, the History screen would be displayed and the status would show as "running".  After a few seconds and refreshing the status would show as "failed" and the following error message would be displayed:
Error in File ~tmp2ea06396a1aaed0.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 18456 ]
CR 2008 Developer and BOE are installed on the same server.  The same DSN is being used or is at least available to both applications.  Is it a problem if the name given to the DSN service and the Server name are the exact same?

  • Problem calling XML Report Publisher from Oracle Reports

    Hi,
    I'm facing a problem in calling XML Report Publisher from Oracle Reports.
    Basically, I'm trying to customise Dunning Letter program. The program which is submitted calls another program. I have customised the second program and added a call to a stored procedure which in turn calls XML Report Publisher.I have created a template and attached it to the second program as well.
    The procedure code is as follows.
    v_request_id := FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST(application => 'AR'
    ,program => 'ARDLP_NON_SRS'
    ,description => 'Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate'
    ,sub_request => FALSE
    l_status := fnd_concurrent.WAIT_FOR_REQUEST
    ( REQUEST_ID => v_request_id,
    INTERVAL => 15,
    MAX_WAIT => 180,
    PHASE => l_phase,
    STATUS => l_status_code,
    DEV_PHASE => l_dev_phase,
    DEV_STATUS => l_dev_status,
    MESSAGE => l_message );
    v_xml_req_id := FND_REQUEST.submit_request(application => 'XDO',
    program => 'XDOREPPB',
              argument1 => v_request_id,
    argument2 => 'FLS DE AR Dunning Letter Print - German',
    argument3 => 603, -- changed 665 -- was 551,
    argument4     => NULL,
    argument5 => 'N',
    argument6     => 'RTF',
              argument7     => 'PDF');
    Now, there are two problems I'm facing...
    1. when the second program('Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate') gets called it executes this procedure ... logically the 'Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate' should get called twice ... second time from the procedure. Its getting called multiple times .. as many as 15 - 20 times.
    2. The Xml Report Publisher program ultimately gets called but its erroring out with the following error:
    java.sql.SQLException: No corresponding LOB data found :SELECT L.FILE_DATA FILE_DATA, DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(L.FILE_DATA) FILE_LENGTH, L.LANGUAGE LANGUAGE, L.TERRITORY TERRITORY, B.DEFAULT_LANGUAGE DEFAULT_LANGUAGE, B.DEFAULT_TERRITORY DEFAULT_TERRITORY,B.TEMPLATE_TYPE_CODE TEMPLATE_TYPE_CODE, B.USE_ALIAS_TABLE USE_ALIAS_TABLE, B.START_DATE START_DATE, B.END_DATE END_DATE, B.TEMPLATE_STATUS TEMPLATE_STATUS, B.USE_ALIAS_TABLE USE_ALIAS_TABLE, B.DS_APP_SHORT_NAME DS_APP_SHORT_NAME, B.DATA_SOURCE_CODE DATA_SOURCE_CODE, L.LOB_TYPE LOB_TYPE FROM XDO_LOBS L, XDO_TEMPLATES_B B WHERE (L.LOB_TYPE = 'TEMPLATE' OR L.LOB_TYPE = 'MLS_TEMPLATE') AND L.APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME= :1 AND L.LOB_CODE = :2 AND L.APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME = B.APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME AND L.LOB_CODE = B.TEMPLATE_CODE AND ( (L.LANGUAGE = :3 AND L.TERRITORY = :4 ) OR (L.LANGUAGE = :5 AND L.TERRITORY = :6) OR (L.LANGUAGE= B.DEFAULT_LANGUAGE AND L.TERRITORY= B.DEFAULT_TERRITORY ) )
    I have checked from database that the XDO_LOBS/ XDO_TEMPLATES_B table has corresponding registration data.
    I don't know what's creating the problem.
    If anyone has customised the Dunning Letter program before or having any idea about this problem, please help me out ..
    Thanks

    satrajit,
    Now I am getting the same error you got, Can you please tell me the solution you found?.

  • Overide XML Report Publisher renaming?

    Anyone know if it is possible to prevent the XML Report Publisher report from renaming the concurrent request on completion. This makes it very difficult for users to understand what requests are, especially when they are automatically submitted from other concurrent programs.
    For example in EBS 11.5.10+ I have a dunning letter custom where the standard "Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate" process submits the bursting program and 2 instances of XML Report Publisher, one for the printed dunning letters and one for the summary report. We could live with the bursting report name but both the XML Report Publisher instances complete with the same name! How is the user supposed to know what is what?
    Cheers,
    Dave

    Glad someone else thinks so!
    I can see the reason behind what it does and it's fine for manually submitted "XML Report Publisher" requests but when you get to submitting it from another concurrent program the renaming is a pain, especially if you are submitting multiple reports from the same request (e.g. detail and summary reports). Users just don't know what they are supposed to be looking at!
    Hopefully Tim will pick it up but I suspect it will have to be a future fix rather than something we can change right now. Roll on a new release for EBS!
    Cheers,
    Dave

  • XML Report Publisher program is erroring out

    Hi All,
    I've customized the AR Customer Statements.
    I've created a data definition as "ARXSGP" and uploded the sample_output.xml of Statement Generation Program to it. Also I've created a Data template as "ARXSGPO" and attached the data definition "ARXSGP" to it and uploaded the customized rtf file "XXHCC_CLE_F_ARCUSBALSL.rtf" and set the default output type to PDF.
    As I donot wish to call the XML Report Publisher program manually every time when I Print the Statements through Print Documents-->Statements.
    So I've done the below customization in ARXSGP.rdf file ie; Print Statements Report which is an Oracle Report.
    I've added the below code in After Report trigger.
    =======================================
    FUNCTION AfterReport

    Below code added for Customer Statement Case Study
    DECLARE
    l_req_id NUMBER := 0;
    L_XML_LAYOUT BOOLEAN := TRUE;
    BEGIN
    L_XML_LAYOUT := FND_REQUEST.ADD_LAYOUT (TEMPLATE_APPL_NAME => 'AR', TEMPLATE_CODE => 'ARXSGP', TEMPLATE_LANGUAGE => 'en', TEMPLATE_TERRITORY => 'US', OUTPUT_FORMAT => 'PDF');
    IF L_XML_LAYOUT THEN
    srw.message(20001, 'Template is picked ');
    srw.message(20002,'Concurrent request Id : '||:p_conc_request_id);
    l_req_id := FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('XDO',

    'PDF');
    IF l_req_id > 0 THEN
    COMMIT;
    ELSE
    srw.message(20004, 'Failed to submit request');
    END IF;
    ELSE -- Not L_XML_LAYOUT
    srw.message(20005, 'Template is not picked ');
    END IF;
    END;
    --------------------Code Ends----------------------------
    SRW.USER_EXIT('FND SRWEXIT');
    RETURN (TRUE);
    END;

  • XML Publisher Desktop Db connect SQL Server Host:Port:Sid

    Brand new to XML Publisher. Set up XML Publisher Enterprise environment to work with SQL Server 2005 using both MS 2000 & 2005 JDBC drivers, so far no problem.
    However the XML Publisher Desktop Report Wizard will not connect to SQL Server 2005 using either MS 2000 & 2005 JDBC drivers. I provide the same data source name, user and pw that I use in the XML Publisher Enterprise environment but it is the 4th piece of information - the database portion (Host:Port:Sid) that I am having trouble with. SID is an Oracle invention not used in the SQL Server world. I have tried various combinations of the database string without sucess.
    Perhaps the XML Publisher Desktop does not work with SQL Server. Does anyone know how to use XML Publisher Desktop to create templates that will work with MS SQL Server?
    Thank you.
    BG...

    Shaun,
    Thanks for you comments. I belive I now have enough to use the HSGC-ODBC technique to make the template and then re-edit it to make it work with the original JDBC connection.
    That said, "Using ODBC-JDBC bridge connection is really poor in performance." I, more than anyone on the planet am aware of this issue and more.
    Being new to XMLPublisher I thought that having a JDBC connection to a SQL Server from XMLP Enterprise led me to beleive that the XMLP Desktop template creation tool would also work. "*** Pity the fool ***" for thinking that! (Thank-you Mr. T!!! <grin>).
    Because I had to engage a 'heterogeneous connectivity" solution to this problem indicates that the product is half-baked. That's not to say that it is not capable.
    Rushing software products to market quickly creates products that make the rest of us jump through hoops. I resent that!!! I have more import things to do than waste time!
    I demand more of a trusted vendor, do you? I have tortured myself with Oracle products thinking they were ready since the early nineties.
    Look we are in a "heterogeneous universe" and if the product pretends to work with "heterogeneous databases" on the Enterprise side than it damn well aught to work with them on the Desktop side. That's my opinion.
    Attention OTN: I am back!!!
    Justin, this needs to be fixed.
    Thanks!

  • XML Report Publisher - Blank Report Request Parameter

    Hi
    I have a custom template and custom data definition in Purchasing application. I ran PO Output For Communication and it generated the PDF. Now I want to do Bursting.
    So, I assigned XML Report Publisher and XML Bursting (both out-of-box programs) to Purchasing responsibility. But when I try to run them, I don't see any values in Request ID LOV.
    Please suggest what am I missing in there.
    Thanks,

    NewBiePlease confirm that you have added those concurrent programs to the correct Request Group which is attached to the same responsibility.
    From (System Administrator responsibility > Security > Responsibility > Define) query the responsibility name and get the Request Group. Then from (System Administrator responsibility > Security > Responsibility > Request), query the Request Group and add those concurrent programs.

  • BI Publisher not closing connection pool connections?

    Hi:
    I'm using Oracle WLS 10.3.3, BIP 10.1.3.4.1.
    I have reports that were using JDBC data sources defined in BIP and I can run them all day with no problems. I created a JDBC connection pool in the WLS, created a JNDI name for it and then got BIP to recognize the JNDI data source. Finally, I modified the report data template to use the JNDI data source. It all works -- for a time. But after 20 or so executions I get an error that there are no more resources (connections). I went into the WLS and configured "inactive connection timeout" to 15 seconds or so. This eventually gives me another connection but doesn't prevent the lock-up.
    Why are the connections no being re-used? I am the only user, it should be using a connection, putting it back into the pool, and then re-using that still open connection for my next query. Is there another setting I need to set in WLS? Do I need to somehow tell the report to close the connection? I wouldn't think the transaction mode for the connection matters, but I could set that as well if I need to.
    Thanks.

    the reason, i asked you to upgrade the BIP patch
    DB CONNECTION IS NOT PROPERLY CLOSED,
    BI PUBLISHER NOT CLOSING DB CONNECTIONS USED FOR 'LIST OF VALUES' PARAMETERS
    there are few fixes related to Db connection in latest patch.
    you can get the latest 10.1.3.4.1 patch for just BIP alone, not OBIEE
    I would suggest you to log an SR and prove it to Support.
    their first suggestion wud be like mine ;)

  • File sharing reports too many users connected

    SPECS: Mac Mini Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2G RAM, Mac OS X 10.6.4. Other users in office also running similar hardware and Mac OS X 10.6.4.
    CLARIFICATION: This Mini is used as a file server in a small law office (4 other workstations). It is running Mac OS X Client, not Server. I refer to the machine as "the server" but wanted to be clear the operating system is the same on all stations.
    HISTORY & CONFIG: This system was setup in November 2009. It provides simple file sharing storage for a 4-user law office and runs Retrospect (version 8.1.626) to do some local and network backup operations. At the time it was setup, it was also running Now Up-to-Date Server but that program is no longer supported, and it has been removed from the computer (May 31, 2010). In late March 2010, I installed Daylite Server as a replacement for Now Up-to-Date. All stations are running Mac OS X 10.6.4, and have always been at the most recent Mac OS X 10.6.x revision within a few days of the release of a major update.
    PROBLEM: Occasionally, clients cannot connect to the server (and I don't have the exact error message -- next time it happens, someone is supposed to get a screenshot). When this happens, if you go to the server and open the file sharing control panel, then click "options", you will see an impossible number of people are connected. The first time this happened was on April 28, 2010, when it reported 41 users were connected. Mac OS X Client has an upper limit of 10 simultaneous user connections, so you can see this number is not possible. Additionally, these are "phantom" logins because you can execute this command in Terminal to see the IP addresses of any connected users:
    netstat -n | grep '.548'
    And when I do this, unless there was someone who had logged in prior to the "phantom explosion", it never shows any connections. On two occasions, I've actually been in the office late one night to do maintenance, checked the server before I left and found 0 connected users, then got a call in the morning that the first person who attempted to connect was blocked and the server showed 10 or more users connected.
    I do not believe this is some kind of security breach. The server is not Internet-accessible, and as is shown by the netstat command, there really isn't anyone logged in anyway. I consulted with Marketcircle (makers of Daylite) because it seemed very coincidental that I installed their software just prior to the beginning of this problem, but they claim Daylite does not make any use of the Mac file sharing system. But, again, since these aren't real users, I suppose it's possible a bug in their software is somehow upping the Mac's connected user count erroneously?
    Restarting the server always fixes the problem -- until it happens again. This Mac Mini is a pretty simple station -- just runs Daylite Server and Retrospect Single Server, plus the basic file sharing. Anyone have any ideas why this keeps happening?

    I would say odds are likely this is correct. On at least two occasions I can think of where I verified everything was okay and later discovered a "phantom explosion", a Retrospect backup would have run. Our backups typically run at 3 AM. Is this a known issue with Retrospect? If so... not sure why it doesn't happen all the time. And in my own office I have a pretty similar setup on an entirely different computer that multiple people connect to, and it never does this. Color me confused.

  • CR08 report published on BOEXI works fine, but not on CRS08 (JDBC conn)

    CR08 report published on BOEXI works fine, but same report published on CRS08 does not work (JDBC connectivity)
    The workflow is:
    1 - Crystal Report was created using CR2008 using JDBC connectivity,
    2 - Published on BOEXI, and
    3 - Same report accessed through InfoView
         Remark - the report works fine.
    The very same .rpt when published on CRS 08, throws an error;
    1 - Crystal Report was created using CR2008 using JDBC connectivity,
    2 - Publishing it on CRS 2008, and
    3 - Same report accessed through InfoView
         Remark - The report does not open (Error: Failed to open the connection.... )
    If the publishing of reports take place from CR08 to BOE XI and could be successfully viewed in InfoView, then why cannot the same rpt be viewed in CRS 2008 InfoView.

    Moving to BOE forums.

  • Opening multiple reports in Crystal Reports for VS causes database connect limit to be reached.  Seems to be no way to force Crystal Reports to close database connection (other than exiting application)

    I am working on upgrading an application that has been in use for many years.  The application is written in VB6 and I have been tasked with upgrading the current application to Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.  I am using Crystal Reports for VS Version 13.0.12.1494.  The system's database is a Sybase SQL Anywhere 16 database with an ODBC connection using integrated login.  Each of the reports has the database connection set up from within the report.  There is only once database server, so each of the reports are pointing to the same DB.  The database server is currently installed as a "Personal Server" with a limit of 10 connections.
    I have implemented the CR viewer as part of a COM-callable wrapper that exposes a COM interface for VB6 to interact with.  Inside of my viewer component is a Winform that embeds the Crystal's Report viewer.  The COM interface basically maps the basic Crystal apis to methods that the VB6 can call (i.e., Load Report, Set Field Text, Update SQL Query, etc).  This architecture is working as designed and the reports are displaying correctly and responding correctly to changes in queries, etc.
    The issue is that after I open 9 reports, the tenth one will respond with an error indicating that the database connection limit has been reached.  The database connections used by the reports aren't released until after the application is closed.  The application is designed for a secure environment that prohibits the non-administrative user from accessing the systems desktop, so asking the user tor restart the application after 10 reports isn't a viable option.
    I have checked and database connection pooling is turned off for the SQL Anywhere 16 driver.
    I have been digging on this for a few days and have tried adding code in the FormClosed event to close and dispose of the Report Document as follows:
    ReportDocument reportDoc= (ReportDocument) crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
    reportDoc.Close();
    reportDoc.Dispose();
    GC.Collect();       // Force garbage collection on disposed items
    I have also tried the following (as well as maybe 20 or so other permutations) trying to fix the issue with no success.
    ReportDocument reportDoc= (ReportDocument) crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
    foreach (Table table in reportDoc.Database.Tables)
         table.Dispose();
    crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = null;
    reportDoc.Database.Dispose();
    reportDoc.Close();
    reportDoc.Dispose();
    reportDoc = (ReportDocument)crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
    GC.Collect();       // Force garabe collection on disposed items
    Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I have been pulling my hair out on this one!

    Hi Ludek,
    Thanks so much for the quick reply.  Unfortunately I did not have time to work on the reporting project Friday afternoon, but did a quick test this morning with some interesting results.  I'm hoping if I describe what I'm doing, you can show me the error of my ways.  This is really my first major undertaking with Crystal Reports.
    If I simply load the report, then close and dispose, I don't hit the limit of 10 files.  Note that I do not logon manually in my code as the logon parameters are all defined within the reports themselves.  The logon happens when you actually view the report.  Loading the report doesn't seem to actually log in to the DB.
    What I did was create a very simple form with a single button that creates the WinForm class which contains the Crystal Viewer.  It then loads the report, sets the ReportSource property on the CrystalReportsViewer object contained in the WInForm and shows the report. The report does show correctly, until the 10 reports limit is reached.
    The relevant code is shown below. More than I wanted to post, but i want to be as complete and unambiguous as possible.
    This code displays the same behavior as my earlier post (after 10 reports we are unable to create another connection to the DB).
    // Initial Form that simply has a button
      public partial class SlectReport : form
            public SelectReport()
                InitializeComponent();
            private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                ReportDocument rd = new ReportDocument();
                ReportForm report = new ReportForm();
                try
                    rd.Load(@"Test.rpt");
                    report.ReportSource = rd;
                    report.Show();
             catch (Exception ex)
                  MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    // The WinForm containing the Crystal Reports Viewer
        public partial class ReportForm : Form
            public ReportForm()
                InitializeComponent();
            private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
                this.crystalReportViewer1.RefreshReport();
                this.FormClosed += new FormClosedEventHandler(ReportForm_FormClosed);
            void ReportForm_FormClosed(object sender, FormClosedEventArgs e)
                ReportDocument rd;
                rd = (ReportDocument)crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource;
                rd.Close();
                rd.Dispose();
            public object ReportSource
                set { crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = value; }
    Again, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    hi,I have a problem in a report published as web service.indeed, the report has a parameter, a date.Client side I do this://I create the parameter             ParameterFields paramFields = new ParameterFields();            ParameterField paramField = new ParameterField();            ParameterDiscreteValue paramDiscreteValue = new ParameterDiscreteValue();            paramField.Name = "date";            paramDiscreteValue.Value = "10/10/2006";            paramField.CurrentValues.Add(paramDiscreteValue);            paramFields.Add(paramField);//I add the parameter into the crVievwer            crystalReportViewer.ParameterFieldInfo = paramFields;//I call the web service to get data            crystalReportViewer.ReportSource = "http://localhost/WebService/Rapport1Service.asmx"; Server Side :Now, I want to get back the parameter in the web service (in Rapport1Service.asmx, so server-side) to be able to call my storedprocedure with the good parameter, this one which was put on the client side (10/10/2006).I tried to do crystalReportViewer.ReportSource = "http://localhost/WebService/Rapport1Service.asmx?date=22/10/2006" on the client side but no way. i don't find a solution, is there any way to make this possible ?Moreover, i have one database for each user, so i need to pass the user name, password and account too..

    I have found a solution.
    I  create a web service in which i return a dataset, filled with the data wanted.the web service take as parameter: the report name we want, the parameter(s), and the username and password (to check if the user has right to access to data.)After that, I fill the report, client side, with the datasen given. i don't know if it's the best solution but it works !

    hello again,
    i just found this at the support center of SAP
    Note: 920328
    XLR - Startup fails, Failed to Initialize Language
    Symptom
    When starting the XLR add-on from Add-On Manager in SAP Business One, I get an error message from XL Reporter saying: "Unable to connect to DI. Failed to Initialize Language".
    Other terms
    SBO, Add-On, XL Reporter, XLR
    Reason and Prerequisites
    XL Reporter applies the language you are using in SBO, and if it cannot find the language files, it will fail. This may be due to the fact that the language files have not been copied to the temp area on the client.
    Solution
    Go to Start - Run in Windows and enter %Temp%. Choose OK.
    Go to the folder SM_OBS_DLL\<B1 version number>. Check that the language files *.LRF is not located under the folder GUI.
    Rename the folder with Business One's version number and add ".old". Then try to start XL Reporter from Business One again. This will force a new download of the language files. Delete the ".old" folder when XL Reporter has started.
    i just done this steps suggested in this note but still i got the error prompt me every time i try to start my XLR.
    pls Note: take a look on the Image that i attached the Version of my XLR is 6.70.02.00 and the version in this path is SM_OBS_DLL\<B1 version number>. is 670190.. maybe this is the reason because my XLR version is not the same.
    Any suggestions?

  • Error when publishing to Adobe Connect Pro

    I am using Captivate 5 and when I publish to Adobe Connect Pro I get the following error message.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Connect 7 didn't support MP4 video content, as I recall. Another issue is that Connect rooms are using Action Script 2 (AS2) while Presenter 9 uses AS3, and the two code languages don't play well together. You don't mention if you are using the meeting application to display the presentation, but it is worth mentioning. If the presentations are stand alone, then the AS3 issue should be non-existent, but the MP4 support may be.
    Is there a reason you haven't updated the Connect software to Connect 9 (or at least Connect 8.1 where the Connect application became AS3 as a whole and supported MP4 content)?

  • InfoView - Error when opening a report ("Failed to open connection")

    Hellow everybody!
    > I created a crystal report using Crystal Reports 2008.
    > The report was designed to connect to a mysql database.
    > In Crystal Reports 2008, the report works fine, but when I try to open it in InfoView, the error bellow appears:
    "Failed to open connection"
    The BO XI3.0 is intalled in a windows 2003 server.
    The odbc driver is installed and configured on the server (I test the connection and it is working fine).
    I don't know what the problem is.
    anyone have any idea about what might be happening?

    The DB is on the server machine.
    When I said I created a connection in the CMC, I did it by creating a connection using the Designer tool:
    II went in the Designer tool and I've just created the connection, but I not drawn any universe since my report does not use a universe (in CR the report directly connects to the database).
    I do not know if this is a correct procedure.
