Reports with of diferent cubes

Hi! I have a problem when I create a report that it needs measures of different cubes, for example if I want to create a "resum report" that I want to view some measures (rows) of diferent cubes and Years on columns (that is common in all cubes) I can't to see it, Is possible to do this?
How??
Thanks a lot!

Microsoft OLE DB for analsys server would be the default
if you can't use this maybe you should post the question to Solaris forum.

  • Report with scd and cube is loaded

I need my Discoverer Plus Report to only list the Store_Name that has the most recent effective (max) date.
The Stores Dimension is a slowly changing dimension. So every time a change is made to a new manager, a new row is inserted into the dimension with an effective date = load date (sysdate).
When the cube loads it loads double the rows that the dimension had because there are two rows for the same store. Which means both historical and recent Store_Names are being loaded into the cube along with the data.
So my questions is how do I put a condition in the Report to only show the newest Store_Name row and bring it the data that matches it's dimension key??
Any help or links would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Report issue on Virtual cube with services

    Hi,
I'm following a how-to document to report on a virtual cube using a custom function module and everything seems to be OK except it is dumping at the following line which is included in the How To document "How Tou2026Implement a virtual InfoProvider with Services".
Both <l_s_data> and E_T_DATA  are of same data types as discussed in the how-to document.
    append <l_s_data> to E_T_DATA
These are the declarations which are same as HowTo document
    E_T_DATA TYPE  STANDARD TABLE
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <l_s_data> TYPE ANY.
Did any one face this issue. Greatly appreciate any insight into this issue. We are on BW 3.0B.
the dump i'm getting is ...
Data objects in a Unicode program are not convertible.
    Error analysis
The statement    "MOVE src TO dst"   requires the operands "dst" and "src" to be comvertible.
Since this statement occurs in a Unicode program, the special  convertibility rules for Unicode programs apply.

    Hi,
In the debugging this is what I found out.. Any further insight?
    Virtual cube has only 1 characteristic Z_CRNUM & only 1 keyfigure Z_SR
    Report has only Z_CRNUM & Z_SR
<L_S_DATA> has following record & value
    component      type     length     contents
    K____504     P     9     1.000
    S____504     C     18     16EA4D-R
K____504 is the technical name of Z_SR in virtual provider.
S____504 is the technical name of Z_CRNUM in virtual provider.
E_T_DATA (type standard table) has following structure with a total of 5 fields.

  • Help with OBIEE reports on Oracle 11g Cube

    Hi,
We have created a 4-Dimensional Oracle 11g cube using AWM 11g and have integrated that with the OBIEE repository using the Dimension Hierarchy views as created by AWM.
Now, when we create a “table” type of report with this cube in OBIEE Answers, all goes fine – we can see all the expected data in the report. However, if we create a “pivot table” type of report using the same selection (query) criteria as in the “table” type of report, then all the cells corresponding to the measure columns show up as blank (empty) – no data is populated in the measure cells. This happens regardless of the positioning of the 4 dimensions in the pivot table - columns, sections, and pages.
Are we missing something in the repository/report setup here? Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Piyush
    Our Environment:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
    AWM v11.1.0.6.0A
    Cube Type: OLAP 11g
Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 10.1.3.3.2
Any help on this thread is much appreciated.

    Hi Marcus,
I have now been able to resolve this issue. Here's a summary of what happened in my case:
    Cause of Problem –
The default aggregation method for the measures is set to "None" in the OBIEE repository.
    Resolution -
In OBIEE answers pivot table report, click on the "More Options..." icon next to the measure name in the measures column. Then select "Aggregation Rule > Sum" and this should do the trick !!
(Please note that in the as-is situation, you will see that the Aggregation Rule is set to Default - you have to change this to SUM).
This is how it worked for me.
Hope this helps. Please do let me know how you get on with this.
    Best Regards,

    Hi
the CR Server does not support SAP data source neither. I would suggest to install either BO Enterprise or BO Edge, install the int.Kit for SAP (both on your server and on the machine your CR2008 designer runs on) and build your reports based on SAP access drivers delivered with the int.Kit.
You can find more information about the installation of the intKit and how to build and publish your reports in Ingo's blogs:

If the LINE-SIZE specification is missing, the line length corresponds to the current screen width. The system field SY-LINSZ contains the current line size for generating lists. The maximum width of a list is 1023 characters. You should keep lists to the minimum possible size to improve useability and performance (recommendation: LINE-SIZE < 132). Hi,
This type of question is almost impossible to answer over a forum .
You need to work with your business to understand what these requirements mean in terms of data modelling and relationships between object entities.
    - Some of these metrics should be delegated to source, and calculated in the update routines to your datatargets (aka Cubes/Tables)
    - Others could be resolved in the semantic layer (Universe)
    - Other will be calculated in the presentation layer as local formulae or variables.
whilst BusinessObjects is a fairly intuitive tool, it may be unreasonble to expect a new learner to deliver an advanced report with conditional formatting.

  • Discoverer report with rollup

I am looking for a report with following scenario. can some one give some idea.
    Col1 Col2 Desc count sum
ALL ALL Total of all 500 2000
    ALL D1 Total for D1 50 500
    ALL D2 Total for D2 80 800
    C1 ALL Total for C1 for D 20 100
    C1 D1 Total for C1 for D1 5 20
    C1 D2 Total for C1 for D2 8 35
Apparently Col1 has more than just C1 and Col2 has more than D1 and D2.
I am using option to have multiple queries and do a union all to collect the results. Is there a more elegant way?
This can be done much better in older express technology by setting up cube.
    TIA
    PB

I can do this with some nifty sql/view combo. but discoverer does not like the resulting sql. I wanted to support this in discoverer so that user can do similar stuff.
Main thing that i need is to support total for all the rows and also display detail rows. Something like lOV with all,groupcol1,groupcol3,detail5, detail 9 etc. from list of values.
    Thx

  • In need help: Analytic Report with Group by

    Good morning,
I am trying to create a report with subtotal and grand total, which of couse goes to the group by clause, with rollup, cube, grouping... etc. I'd like to use rollup, then some columns in the Select list have to be put into the Group By clause, which is not supposed to be. So I had to use one of SUM, AVG, MIN and MAX functions, to make those columns as *aggregated, which is wrong.
Another alternative I tried is to use Cube and Grouping_id to be the filter. However, that is still very cumbentsome and error-prone, also the order of the display is absolutely out of control.
I am trying hard to stick to the first option of using the Rollup, since the result is very close to what I want, but avoid the usage of aggregation functions. For example, if I want to display column A, which should not be grouped. Other than using those aggregation functions, what I can do?
    Thanks in advance.

    Luc,
this is a simple and a good reference for analytic functions:
    http://www.orafaq.com/node/55
It takes some time to understand how they work and also it takes some time to understand how to utilize them. I have solved some issues in reporting using them, avoiding the overkill of aggregates.

    Hi Folks,
We have a report thats has been running well in production for more about 18 months. This month it did not complete execution.
We did implement BIA couple of 4 months back and the run times have drastically reduced after the BIA. Now this query execution results in a Dump with and without BIA.  FYI the underlying cube has 195,876,020 records only.

Note say the below (It might be a little tricky, to find an appropriate value for 'RSRCACHE_ITAB_COMPR' as it heavily depends on the query-specific data structures that are stored in the cache. The general recommendation would be to start with a value of about 5000. Test this with a query, that dumped previously. In case the dump persists reoccurs, reduce the value of the parameter significantly. Otherwise, if no dump occurs but you face noticeably longer runtimes, increase the parameter.)
We are trying not able to get to the right parameter value. (changed it from 5000, 4000, 3000, & 1000) without much  help.  Did any of you had to change this parameter. How low or High can this parameter be changed?
We would like to understand if changing any other parameters would help in RSADMIN table would help?

  • SSRS report connecting SSAS 2014 cube not returning measure value

    Hi all
Recently we migrated SSAS from 2008r2 to 2014 in Dev environment. when we are testing  SSRS reports which are connecting to that cube is having issue. the measure value is returning as [Measures].[LSM Count] instead of numeric value.
when we connect to old cube in prod environment the report is working as expected and even the mdx query is working fine in  Management studio of new cube.  what would be the issue.

    Surendra Thota

    Hi Surendra_Thota,
According to your description, there are SSRS reports with SSAS data source, after you migrated SSAS from 2008 R2 to 2014, the measure value returned string instead of numeric value.
I tried to reproduce the issue in my local machine of SQL Server 2014, but it works fine for me. As a workaround, please modify the query like below:
    SELECT
    NON EMPTY
    [Measures].[Internet Order Quantity],
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]
    } ON COLUMNS,
    NON EMPTY

  • Crystal Report on a big cube

    Hi,
We are trying to create a Crystal report on a large cube 7 millions row in fact tables.
There are multiple dimension, some with several millions as well.
The report will use filters on Navigational Attribute of the dimensions.
I tried MDX query, it run for a while and give database error.
No more storage space available for extending an internal tablee.
This is because it's running as dialog (DIA) in SAP BW.
Is there a way to run this query as background in BW so we'll have more time and memory?
I know we can do this with Infoset and OpenSQL driver by setting Windows Environment variables,
but those are not for cubes.
Our system is SAP BW 7.01 EhP1 SP5.
    Crystal Report 2008 SP2
BOE 3.1 SP2 (we'll schedule crystal reports on BOE)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

Edited by: Henry Le on Mar 14, 2010 12:43 AM

    Hi Ingo,
Thank you for your quick response.
    There are 2 requirements:
    1) Summary report
    2) You were right, extract lot's of data. I think BW limit to about 0.5GB for this right?
For 1) I will try to simplify the report, reduce number of rows coming back to see if it works.
For 2) we need to extract such data then load to Oracle for the business to do analytic on. We know that this is not standard SAP practice, and decided that this is only an interim solution till we have all requirements and  move the reports, analytic back to BW - BOBJ route.
The extract expected to be 6.5 millions rows with 70+ fields. 3.5GB to 5GB of data.
_ OpenHub - not fit because to my knowledge Open Hub does not support Navigational Attributes
_ We have Data Services 3.2 - I can try to join the transparent tables (the cube's fact table and dimension tables for Navigational Attributes) and load directly to Oracle.
_ We also have Data Federator 3.0 SP2 - but I heard Data Federator does not fair well with large volume.
_ We do not want to enhance DSO at this point as this is only interim solution.
    Do you have any suggestion?
    Thank you very much,
    Henry Le

  • How to match the BI Inventory Management reports with MB5B?

    Hi All,
In BI we have two reports which shows the Quantity, Value and count of the valuated GI and GR movements happened in the inventory at a material-plant level for a given day. Both the reports are built on the cube 0IC_C03(Material Stocks/Movements ). We need to display only those movements which has a value associated with that. Ideally it should match with the R3 report MB5B for stock type "Valuated Stock".
    For example,
For movement type 311(storage location to storage location) there are no accounting documents associated with that. Still in the data source it has field u201CStock categoryu201D(BSTTYP) as blank, which indicates that it is a valuated stock. And hence that record is displayed in the BI report. But In MB5B there are no entries for that movement type as there is no value associated with that.
Similarly for movement type 101 (Goods receipt) the stock category, BSTTYP in the data source indicates that it is valuated stock, where as MB5B eliminates those which has no value associated with that.
This is causing a mismatch between the R/3 MB5B and the BI Reports. Is there any method to match the BI reports with the MB5B report in R3?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alpho

    Hello,
Please cross check with MM consultant and take the logic of MB5B and implement same in BW Query Level can help you to match the values.
    Thanks.

  • No Reporting Symbol for the cube.

    Hi all,
no reporting symbol for an cube.
I created Z cube without any aggregates and loaded data sucessfuly QM status is green but i'm not able to see the reporting symbol next the request id.  When i checked in manage content data, data is available for the fact but not for any dimension table.
Please go through the following when we did the diagnosis.
    Diagnosis
There is an inconsistency between the load status of the data and the
option of reporting on this data.
There is data in the InfoProvider that is OK from a quality point of
view, but is not yet displayed in reporting.
The problem, for example, is to do with request 0000003343, number
        REQU_44ROL5YBBCJMDL5HQ8TVBAER6.
    Procedure
Choose Refresh  to remove the inconsistency.
As per the procedure we did but went to short dump
    UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
    CX_SDB_ORA_PROGRAM_ERROR
Highly appreciable if any one could resolve our issues.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Niyati,
What is your BW version. If it is BI 7.0 then check these OSS Notes:
975948 No update statistics for newly created tables
998904 Statistics check shows red or yellow traffic lights
If it BW 3.X version then run the RSRV check for the cube.
