Repositories

Hi, I recently installed Arch on my computer, and everything is fine except when i try to add pacman repos.  I try to goto /etc/pacman.conf , and it says "-bash blah blah "permission denied".  When i put in that command, I was using my root login. Also where do I find the repositories?

/etc is owned by root, so obviously its not going to let your user account fiddle with it.
and what do you mean you want to find repositories?
Arch has 3 official repos - core, extra and community. AUR is an unofficial repo. Other than that, if you cannot find packages in any of the repos (highly unlikely) - you should just compile it and build from source

  • Policy Enforcement issues in AM 7.1 with multiple user repositories

    Hello,
We have a scenario where we need to authenticate and authorize both ADAM and Sun Directory Server users into a web application through the same realm. The realm is setup with 2 identity repositories - one for ADAM and one for DS - both of type LDAP v3 Repo. Authentication into AM console through the ?realm=name parameter works fine in this setup for users from both repositories.
However, when we try to authenticate users into the protected web application as an AD/DS user, policy enforcement is not deterministic. Policy Agent starts allowing URL access to DENIED users also. Is this a known issue/bug with Sun Access Manager 7.1?
The policy agents in our setup are Apache, Tomcat and IIS 6.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

Please provide more information. If I understand you correctly, you have a realm with 2 LDAP Auth modules configured. Are these part of an Auth Chain? What does that Chain look like? Both Required? Sufficient?
What does your URL policy look like?
Have you made sure AM Agent is not set to SSO_ONLY?
What do you mean by "Policy Agent starts allowing URL access to DENIED users also"? You see "DENIED" in a log file but the user gets through, or you are just reporting the behavior?
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • Multiple development repositories issues

We are going forward with multiple repositories for development. I would
greatly appreciate any input from individuals who have implemented such a
strategy or who have investigated it.
Development would occur simultaneously in several repositories with one
repository ultimately having all plans (projects) from all repositories.
Other repositories would only have the projects that they are responsible
for developing and read only copies of ones that they need as suppliers.
    The following are concerns
    * Keeping track of project versions and supplier plan dependencies
    * Propagating changes in one repository to another.
    * What is the definitive number of people in a repository for
development/production. I have heard 10-12 and as many as 25 before
    performance degradation occurs.
The solutions we have settled on (in the interim) are:
    * There will be no more than 10-12 developers per repository
    * Each development team will get their own repository
    * All project versions developed will be checked into a source code
    control (SCC) program
    * Anyone requiring a project as a supplier plan will pull them from
SCC into a slave workspace of their repository, integrate it into the
baseline and check it out (along with all supplier plans to that project
    with correct version).
Does anyone else see the headache here?..... Bueller?
BTW our version is Forte 3G2 on HPUX with NT4 clients.

    Sure.
Only select the apps that you want to sync.
It will only sync what you tell it to sync to each device.

  • 2 Repositories in dev and only one at a time in test envs. Any known cons?

IHAC who asked me the following tricky thing:
due to our Business needs we are facing a situation in which we will work with 2 siebel repositories and only 1 siebel testing environment:
    -     Both Siebel repositories have their own database instance and tools dbf file (let’s named them Repository-1 and Repository-2)
    -     Both Siebel repositories will have exactly the same database schema, meaning that we will have exactly the same number of tables and columns.
    -     Taking into account the previous point we were thinking of applying the repimpexp from one of our repositories.
    -     Depending in our needs put in the test environment srf-1 (compiled from Repository-1) or srf-2 (compiled from Respository-2).
Due to our architecture it is needed to be able to use both srf without launching a repimpexp. Taking into account that both database schemas are going to be equal, the only issue I can foresee it is the metadata tables (S_FIELD, S_BUSCOMP). As far as I know those tables are only used by Workflows and maybe ASM. Can you please send to us asap a list of Siebel features which could be affected by this approach? And kindly confirm that the “regular” Siebel functionality (applet, BC, BS) will not be affected.
As far as I know the standr siebel functionalities should not be affected at all, but I would like to have you perspective.
    thanks to all in advance

  • Multiple repositories in 1 bi server ...with PS catalog....in OBIEE 11g

Any body attempted to do this ? Having multiple repositories in 1 biserver....with multiple webcatalog used in 2 PS on same machine. This doesn't seem to work in OBIEE11g. Analytics.ear contains lots of new deployment descriptors for web.xml in 11g.

We did exactly what was stated for 11g. The below 2 urls were used to do it 11g . we have 2 urls
    http://xxxx:9704/analytics (default rep ,catalog)
    http://xxxxx:9704/analytics_appa ( 2nd rep and catalog)
We can see repositories are loaded online but when we access sometimes it goes to the wrong rpd/webcatalog. Some caching or something is going on from browser.
Any body attempted this setup ? We have opened a ticket with oracle but no good response.
    Thanks

  • [Solved]Upgrade pacman 4.1 - no usable package repositories configured

Hi, i am another guy who fail with upgrade pacman 4.1
I has pacman 4.0.3-7 and for some dependancy (like yaourt), i need pacman 4.1
He wasn't in system update, so i download it from git : git clone git://projects.archlinux.org/pacman.git pacman
    sh ./autogen.sh
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --enable-doc
    make -j8
    sudo make install
And now, i got this error
    sudo pacman -Syu
error: no usable package repositories configured.
I backup my /etc/pacman.conf and use the new one like this topic : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 7#p1254497
    I check the version :
    Pacman v4.1.0 - libalpm v8.0.0
I try to upgrade my DB
    sudo /usr/local/bin/pacman-db-upgrade
==> ERROR: /usr/local/var/lib/pacman/ is not a pacman database directory.
The only solution i found right now is reinstalling arch linux o.0
    Thanks for you help.

Why would you do that? Why would you not use pacman to upgrade/install pacman, or any other package for that matter?
Honestly, this was such a bad idea that I'm finding it difficult to keep myself from berating you with inappropriate language (some of which I instinctively blurted out when I read your post).

pacman-db-upgrade is a transition tool to convert pacman 3.x databases to pacman 4.x databases. Is there some guide that told you to use that to update the database?
I pride myself on trying to be helpful on the forum, but you do not seem to have any idea of how package management works on Arch Linux. This is all covered in the wiki and on the forum. I really do not mean to be rude, but I believe that you would be better off with something else as you seem to just be naively trying random shit.
If you really want to clean up the mess that you've made, uninstall the manually installed pacman, remove whatever AUR apps you have installed that prevent you from upgrading via pacman, then rebuild and re-install those apps after the upgrade.
I also suspect that you are using Archbang or some other distro given that you seem to be new to the distro yet already have yaourt installed. If this is the case then you should direct yourself to their forum. This forum is for Arch Linux.

  • How to retrieve local disk repositorie when moving VM manager  3.2.2.520 to another host ?

    Hi all,
I used OVM on a single server HP EDGE 2950.
I installed VM Server 3.2.2 on HP server.
I installed VM manager 3.2.2 on VM virtual box on my laptop.
Everything works fine,  settup of a repository on local disks of the server , downloading template and created several VMs.
Then i follow procedure from chapter 3.7 of documentation : "Running Oracle VM manager as a Virtual Machine" :
New VM  for VM manager created
VM manager installation running ./runInstaller --uid option
    Stopping Old Vm manager
    Connect to the new one.
    Discover my server.
Result : My server is correctly discovered , all the VMs related to him seen (Orphan and without correct configuration)
But i'm not able to access the repositorie located on the local disk of the server.
Is there any step that i missed to complete my move ?
    Thanks for any clue
    Regards

Today after a complete rediscover of the server
    The repositorie is seen
After a refresh , the contents was seen , and all my ORPHAN names were resolved.
Don't understand why it works today and not yesterday. Little trick i've done ,is with my old VM Manager  to unowed (implicitely unpresent it ) repositorie (with all my VMs down) ,  and then retake owner ship and represent it to my server pool. Then shiutdown old vm manager , restart new one, rediscover server and it's OK.
So maybe this could be had to documentation or in a MOS note. Will add a comment if i had to retry this on the future.
Trace there the log contents when everything is fine :

  • Logical repositories for Document Archiving

    Hi.
We are changing all our content repositories to Logical Repositories and it has worked 100% for data archiving objects. (No more re-customizing after a copy) But this does not seem to work for Document archiving.
OAC3, field Cont.Rep.ID only sees selective repositories. Investigation showed that table TOAAR only caters for 2 CHAR on the ARCHIV_ID, which is fine in our case, because the logical repositories have been created as such. TOAAR however does not contain the logical repository entries.
Please advise how we can proceed to also make use of logical repositories for Document archiving.
    Thanks

Come on guys, there must surely be somebody that knows something about the use of Logical repositories with Document Archiving.
If somebody can shed some light, it will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Best Practice transport procedure for SRM-MDM Catalogue repositories change

    Hi,
I have a question regarding SRM-MDM Catalogue repository change transports.
We currently have two QA servers and to Production servers (main and fail-over).
We are investigating the need of a Development server.
Changes are being made to the repositories on the system, and I see the need of a dev server.
What is best practice for SRM-MDM Catalogue?
With only QA and Prod environments I guess Repository schema transport is the best option, since there has not been created a Refference file (which is needed for change file transport).
    Any other options?
We are running MDM as well, with dev, QA and prod environments. Here we use CTS+ for transports.
Is it best practice to use CTS+ also for SRM-MDM Catalogue transports?
    KR,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas.
What is best practice for SRM-MDM Catalogue?
SAP recommends to have the landscape model like DEV-QA-PROD.
So in case of catalog as well if we follow the same technique it will help you to have a successful implementation
    Any other options?
As a part of proceeding with the CTS+ you need to create a reference file
Refer the Link: [CTS+|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0dd1ae0-36e5-2b10-f8b4-e6365e643c0b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] for more details
Is it best practice to use CTS+ also for SRM-MDM Catalogue transports?
It is upto the requirement. if you feel there are many changes in catalog xml schema in various phases in an automatic manner then you can go ahead with CTS+ or you can perform the existing method of exporting and importing the schema to the repository.
    Hope it helps.
    Best Regards
    Bala

Move VM from ovhost-01 to ovhost-02 using "Clone or Move" section from VM Manager ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27300_01/E27309/html/vmusg-vm-manage.html#vmusg-vm-move )
Whenever I try VM moving virtual disk stays on the first_repo.
With shared NFS-storage this feature working well.
    Question:
Is it possible to move VM from one server to another with Local Repositories ?

Neither ovhost-01 nor ovhost-02 have access to each other. It move or copy... the admin server that is connected to the local repository would have to have access to the target repository.

  • Third Party Document/Object Repositories

I was referred to this Forum from the Webcenter Content Forum, as I could not get a definitive answer. We are in the planning stages of implmenting Webcenter for a DMS. If SES is used, will it search other indices in separate document repositories that use PostgresSQL, e.g. Dspace, Fedora? Or even NoSQL?
In order to decide if it will work, the question appears to be one of open APi's. This is not just a matter of linking files, but searching and retrieving them. Does Webcenter/SES include truly open API's? I see some hints that it might (with alot of customization), but no one has seemed to address this specific use case in the documentation or on the Forums I can identify.
    Has anyone else tried this?
    Thanks in advance.

I think the answer is: yes, it is possible, but you will need to consider which product is responsible for what functionality.
There is not any product in the WebCenter portfolio that does indexing. Even WebCenter Content uses other technologies such as Oracle Database (namely, Oracle Text), or Oracle Secure Enterprise Search for that. In fact, Oracle SES might a product you are looking for - but it'd need to be licensed separately, and you'd need to check if there are adapters for the systems you mentioned (or you'd need to write your own, or you a compatible one).
As for participation in workflows or dispositions (federated records management), it is likewise. WebCenter Content: Records (formerly, Universal Records Management) is capable of federated records management on condition that an adapter exists. In fact, for filesystem repositories (that might be compatible) it uses Oracle SES (which is one of pre-reqs), so it might be the same question as before.
Alternatively, you could use 'pure workflow' products such as Oracle BPM or BPEL Process Manager that can integrate nearly with anything via SOAP.
Finally, you could try to 'link' documents in your other repository to document in WebCenter Content. This would probably be a customization.

  • Document Management Repositories

    First a little background:
We have recently purchased Oracle Workflow (Standalone)for use in a Content Management application, along with the Internet File system, and Oias. The application is intended to be a moderately simple (Create), Edit, Review, Approve, Publish workflow, where different document classes have a slightly different path.
I noticed on the demo pages the Document Review demo, but unfortunately it does not appear to work, as there are no "Document Management Repositories" created.
    Now to the questions:
Is is possible to configure Oracle Internet File System as a document repository to get this demo to work? If so, is there documentation to inform us how to go about it?
If not, is there another product in the Oracle suite that we can use, or more information about what Document Management Repositories are/will be supported?
Our application needs to be in production by March (with production software). If I can get the demo to work, I would like to proceed along with a customisation of the demo technology - how dangerous an approach is that, noting that the manual states that any reference to Document Management Repos are "for reference only".
If this is not an approach that is viable, I assume I will continue down the path of using PL/SQL and java for integration with Internet file system, and doing the coding for the activities manually.
thanks for any help on this - my aim this week is to get the Document Review demo working if at all possible....
    keep smiling
    Brigette

    Hello,
The workflow demo is to provide a simple, yet common approval processes involved in any document management system. Oracle Workflow itself does not include any document management repositories. You can use any document management system and use Oracle Workflow to manage the processes involved when handling different documents.
The documents sent for approval in the demo are sent as attachments to the notification. You can also include hyperlink to documents stored and any document management system including iFS. In fact, we are already integrated with iFS.
For correct versions of iFS/CMSDK which has workflow pre-integrated, please contact the iFS folks.
    Cheers,
    Raja
