Requesting for [base-devel] packages information

Hi, I have read alot of threads related to this but I think its not yet clear...My arch installer gives me the "base-devel" from "Select Package Categories"...What I would like to know is the package information of every package on the list.  Since my netbook has only 8gb of SSD, I can't waste space for unnecessary packages...:( Thanks in advance

  • Can we create Transport request for deleting a package?

    Hi all,
We have few customised programs and tables developed in a package. Normally we create a transport request, include the objects for this package, then generate the FTP files and send it to user. Now the user wants us to create a FTP files for deletiing the package. Can this be possible without effecting the package in our system?( For this we have only dev sys)
    Thanks and Regards,

You have to ask the user to delete the package locally. Moreover please educate him about the CTS mechanism in SAP, i don't think ABAPers are here to hack the SAP system

  • IPad randomly launches requests for Apple Store login information

A few weeks ago my iPad started to ask for my Apple login information regularly, launching the login box for no apparent reason.  I try to watch a youtube, and the login comes up.  I start my browser, and the login comes up.  Any thoughts out there on what happened and how to stop this?
    Thanks.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

  • Content Location request for PACKAGE failed (Code 0x80040102) - How to determine list of DP's returned from the MP

    Hi there
So, existing SCCM 2012 environment, OSD functioning at other sites, been in use for a while.
New location, new DP.  PXE boot system, choose the task sequence, and I get the error that the package is not found.
Look at the SMSTS.log and sure enough I see the 0x80040102 error.
    I have :
Removed the offending package and redistributed it.  Verified it is present on the server.
Verified the boundary has the server as a site system.
Verified the boundaries have the correct IP range, and the correct Site.
I have tried it with just a Site boundary and just a IP Range boundary.
Created a copy of my TS, removed the offending package, deployed.  Same error, just with a different package ID (which tells me that it isn't the package, it is something on the server DP itself).
Rebooted both the Site server and the DP.
I'm kind of at a loss, as I would expect to see the DP show up in the below log as a DP, but I don't see it.  It looks like it gets policy, and it shows under the content location request Local: 1 (which I believe says it sees 1 local content location),
but further below in the log it says Processing 0 Locations.
    Very confused.
    Thanks for any help...

It was not just driver packages, it was whatever package was next in line in the Task Sequence.
The issue got even more strange...I added a DP from my central location to the boundary group of the site that was failing.
Now it pulls from the local DP.
If I remove the DP from my central location (that is not local to the failing site), then it stops working again.

  • LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package

    Hi all,
I tried to install the following packges for CiscoView 6.1.9:
    Rtr2900.cv50.v2-0.zip
    Rtr3900.cv50.v2-0.zip
but it gives me the following error:
Consistency check failed for base package NGMARShare
There are no Packages to be installed.
I uninstalled all packages and installed them again after I copied these two packages in the packages sources folder but it failed again.
    Any one can help?
    Thanks

the new package you try to install depends on a package that you don't have
    DEPENDENT PACKAGE
    =================
    DtShare V1.5 (DtShare.cv50.v1-5.zip)
this can be seen from the error message you got
"Consistency check failed for base package DtShare"
my advice is to read the "Release Information" for the packages you try to install
you can find the Release Information in the same page of the download.
    hope this helps,
also it's better to update all the device packages if your server have internet connectivity from CS > Software Center > device update.

  • Critique requested for first package (QMentat)

I wrote a program to practice mental arithmetic, and I've just finished what I hope is a not too terrible attempt at making a PKGBUILD for it. I would greatly appreciate any critiques, pointers, etc. No warnings or errors shown from running namcap, and I paid close attention to the docs, so hopefully it's not too bad.
The PKGBUILD file is here: https://gist.github.com/RealGrep/5432464
The actual program's home page is here: http://realgrep.github.io/QMentat/
Please note that the warnings from a Qt header file when building are an issue with Qt uncovered by gcc 4.8.x, not my program.
    Thanks.

You shouldn't need to mkdir in the build and package functions (which solves the need for awkward "../foo" calls), nor should you have to manually clear .git files. Other than that, it seems fine.
As for gmp, it is assumed that the package groups 'base' and 'base-devel' are installed, thus there is no need to add depends on stuff like compilers.
Here's the PKGBUILD with the small tweaks applied: http://ix.io/5hH/sh
I'm not so sure about how it's installing the LICENSE though. That might be passable, although, you could remove it for a little more space saving (since GPL3 is already in /usr/share/license)

  • What is base-devel? is it a package, or?

    I knew that
base-devel is a collection of packages essential for basic development.
    However, i cannot use
    pacman -Ss
    to see it.
How to fulfill something like this? Can someone give hints on how this kind of collection works?
    Thanks

    pacman -Ss | grep base-devel

  • Request for proper information and to refuse to help when it's missing

On behalf of many of us volunteers who are getting tired of guessing the environment of those who are asking for help, I hereby
ASK ALL VOLUNTEERS TO STOP RESPONDING TO REQUESTS FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THAT DO NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT INFORMATION
In general, sufficient information should include:
    1) Operating system and Service Pack, not just the family.
    - Vista is a Family of operating systems. Insufficient information (need Home, Home Premium, etc.)
    - XP is a Family of operating systems. Insufficient information (need Home, Professional, etc.)
    - Linux is a Family of operating systems. Insufficient information (need Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 Update 4, Red Hat EL 4 Update 2, OpenSuSE 10.3, Fedora 8, etc.)
    2) Version of database installed to 4 digits (9.2.0.6, 10.2.0.3, 11.1.0.6) and the database's ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID
    3) Which product being used to access the database, which computer that product is on, and the Oracle Home from which the product is run. (SQLPlus, same home as the database)
    4) The output of lsnrctl status, the contents of the tnsnames.ora and the contents of the listener.ora
    5) The output of the ipconfig /all or ifconfig and of hostname
    6) Copy paste of the actual error message, not just a paraphrase of part of a line..
    Any other ideas?

I am not requesting this to be enforced by the forum.
I am requesting that people like you and me reply by linking to this thread (or to the other excellent related threads) INSTEAD of replying. If we do it consistently, eventually the newbies will also enforce it voluntarily, and that will cut the useless teeth-pulling-effort replies to a minimum.
In your 90% posts figure - you do realize that that means 90% of the posts are badly formed and are wasting your time as well as mine.
Or - if they were properly formed - you and I could answer that with a lot less effort and a lot faster. With the implication is that the person asking would generally get a resolution a lot faster as well. Net result - you and I get to sleep more (or answer more questions) and people with problems are happier because they get them resolved faster.

Before i started to bug TAC, I figured I'd post this here.
    Let me know your thoughts

Looks like your package repository has been corrupted.  TAC can provide a procedure  to recover from this corruption.  The following DOC indicates  why this can happen and has suggestions on how to avoid these problems  from re-occuring.

  • Request for Vino package

I don't know if this is where I would post this. I haven't found any way to add comments for the vino package or message to Jan de Groot. What would be the best way to suggest that --enable-avahi be used when compiling vino to enable broadcasting without a recompilation?

You can file a feature request against the package on the bug tracker. In the meantime, you can get the PKGBUILD out of ABS or off the SVN and recompile with the avahi flag.

  • How to create a new request for whole Package.

    Dear All,
I have an unique requirement. we have a system, where developement have been done in phases with different Requests of A Package.
Now we need to apply same package/project on different system. But unable to list/gather all change request of developement. Now, is there any option to make a request for whole package or export whole package (Table, transaction, Program, class, objects etc. Everything of this package) and then theni import into another system.
    Regards
    Dharmendra

    A suggestion:
In Se80, display the package.  Right-click on the displayed package name and choose write transport entry. Choose "package".   Create the new transport as a "Transport of copies".  Choose your target and client as part of your copy request.
BTW, SE80, select object, right click, write transport entry is an easy way to create a new transport for anything you need transported although not changed, such as an entire function group, etc.

  • How would I create kernel devel package for OVM3.2.1 ?

I am new to OVM SDK ..Please help me to understand how to create kernel devel package for OVM3.2.1 ?
I tried below command "rpmbuild --rebuild kernel-uek...src.rpm" on my OEL5.9 machine. It throw few errors w.r.t KaBI checks fails.
Is there hard rule to run above command only on OVM 3.2.1 SDK template ? I am going to try that now, but it will be good to know limitation/assumption on OVM 3.2.1.
Is there any simplest method to get kernel devels/headers for OVM3.2.1 ?

Thanks JB. It works like a charm. I earlier doubt the same, but real pain was to get gcc,rpm utils without ULN access. I used oel5_latest repo to get gcc and other supported utils. Everything works as expected.
Just for info to help others... Below are the list of package required.

  • LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package ...AG

    Hello,
We've got a package updater problem with a LMS3.1 installation.
    1. After trying to update RME Device packages from GUI we got a message that LibCommon-v2.3.2 is needed
    2. We tried to update LibCommon from CLI using psucli.bat, see below
    3. We found a discussion in this forum, simular to this problem with the hint to reinstall the RME, what we did but with no improvement
    4. We deinstalled, reboot, did a new installation of LMS3.1. But the problem still exists, with same message. We need the PSU, because most of our devices will be managed after device package update only.
Updating of each package brings warnings with pseudo package names, as ImageAG, MemoryAG and not with hints to real missing packages:
    C:\lms\bin>psucli -p rme -install -src C:\install\lm31-updates\ LibCommon
WARNING: LibCommon(2.3.2):Consistency check failed for base package ImageAG
see also the psu.log containing all tryes of package updates
The problem goes a little bit in this direction, but with a new reinstallation as well:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/669047#669047
    What can we do?
    thx for hints, Steffen

When you install LMS on Windows, there are some recommended steps to take to ensure the installation is a problem free as possible:
Set the per-user and global TEMP and TMP environment variables to short values (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP)
    Disable all anti-virus software
Disable Windows Data Execution Protection (DEP)
Login to the server as a local Adminitrator
Install from original, locally attached media
NEVER abort the installation after the installer says not to
Based on the symptoms described here, I'm guessing at least the first item was not done.  TAC has a procedure to recover a bad RME package repository, but if the base installation is problematic, doing so would be moot.  If you suspect the installation isn't 100% (beyond the package repository), uninstall, then follow the above steps to reinstall.
If you think the problem is just with the RME package repository, contact TAC, and they can provide you a good, up-to-date repository to jump start things for you.
