Requirement class- consumtion indicator and requirement reduction indicator

hi
in DEMAND MANAGEMENT WE CAN SET REQUIREMENT CLASS
can any one elobrate whats the difference between the consumption indicator and requirement reduction indicator.
in help i dint get any explanation regarding the indicators which we need to se at requirement class
in siemens material i got the diff on between but i couldnt understood
can any experts elobrate the issue.
the explantion is like that
consmtion is not the only integartion between actual sales requirements and PIR. reduction of the PIR will also takes place asa result of the sales requirement.
Reduction is the process of actual reducing the value of PIR and its stored in the system. where as  during  consumtion the actual value stored was not changed, only the quantity passed to planning was lowerd.
can any body elobrate the above statement
regards
sasikanth

HI
Consumption indicator
The PIR are consumed with respectve to sales order

  • Requirment class in ECC and APO

    Hello,
I need to know how requirment class in ECC is t/f to APO.
For instance if we create a new requirment class ZE. Do we need to create similar ZE check mode in APO.
    Or
the requirment class will be CIF'd. If yes how. requiremnt class becmes check mode in APO.
    regards
    Pamela

    Hello Brahmankar
But there are many ways a requirement class gets determined in SD module in ECC. One is the way you have told in T code OPPS.
but sometimes the requirment class is determined based on  requirment type . requirment type is based on  item category + MRP type .  ( req type=item cat + MRP type ) and then  requirment type is assigned to requirment class. This is how  requirement class gets determined in sales order in ECC.
So  what if requirment type and requirment class is not in material master and is determined thrugh item cat + MRP type ?

  • Calling all LV Architects and Developers: advice required on Build Specifications and Requirements

This is a call to all contractors, consultants, architects etc...
I have been asked to develop and automated test system...
Long story short - can anyone offer me an example or two or copy of  a specification and requirements document given to them by a company that is in need of a labview system, which specifies what it needs to do, what it should look like, how the data should be stored etc...
The reason I ask is that I have not been given any spec.  And trying to build a system without one is non-sensicle to me.  I am fairly new to labview as well.
The way I see it is that if a job goes out to tender for quotes from different contractors, surely there must be some kind of spec document so that they can give their quotes and understand how to build the system from the ground up and plan ahead.
maybe it should include things like:
    Including:
    Types of tests
    Things to be tested
Who will be using it? Testers/engineers/analysts?
Who will maintain it? What skills do they have?
What should it look like? Colours, menu’s test result feedback format(s)…
What features and functions do they want?
How much test modification control does it need?
Please feel free to add to this list
Hope you can help/advise.  all comments welcome.. Thanks all

Let's get some things straight first:
There are no companies in the world in need of "LabVIEW system". There are companies in need of automated test systems, for which LabVIEW is suitable choice. But this choice is mostly made by you, not by the client. If client explicitly asked you to do it in LabVIEW, he's still in need of test system, but one of the additional requirements might be LabVIEW ("We're standarized for NI hardware" or "Mr. Smith here knows LV, so you'll sell us codes and he'll be able to modify them", etc).
Specifications given by clients are rare. In-depth specifications are unicorns. Most clients would just give you "hey, we want to measure this and check that". And that's just ok - they're not experts in automated test systems, you are. They're just their domain experts. That makes YOU responsible to gather requirements for their test system by cooperating with them. If they knew what exactly is needed to archieve their goals, they'd just do it without your help (or hire you as mindless coder).
No one would probably just give you any specification here. At best such specification is company know-how, but most common it's just proprietary information.
Requirements gathering is hard. Mainly because they're changing. And there are no silver bullets, no "template documentation" which you can just fill and everything would be clear.
Now, adding to your questions list:
What do we automate? Why? What do we want to archieve?
What will be measured? How? What are specifications of measurements (sampling rate, accuracy, etc)? What hardware do we need?
What are the use cases for the system? (you can look up "use case" in internets; this is also closely connected to "Who will be using it?)
How we'll decide that the system is complete and working (Will we have some functionality check list? Is there any calibration required? Do they have any procedures - MSA, etc? Should we provide training?)
Would it be easier if you'd make some demo to show?
...and that's just the top of the ice berg

  • Requirement Class 101 and 105

    Hi,
In std system settings for requirements class 101 & 105 are kept same. Similarly for the requirement class 103, 106, 107 the settings are kept same (requirements class for planned independent requirement)
Can anybody suggest the reason behind that. Is there any specific reason for creating multiple requirement class for same settings?
    regards,
    Mohit

    Dear Lauliu,
Requirement class 101 - is linked with planning strategy 40 and requirement class 105 is linked with planning strategy 70.
With planning strategy 40 it's a pure make to stock scenario where based on PIR's(planned independent requirements) the system
creates planned orders for the finished products and these can be processed from production perspective without recieveing
    any sales order.
With planning strategy 70 it's a planning strategy for planning the components designed for planning the procurement (production
or purchasing) of components by planning the components themselves. This is particularly useful in the following cases:
There is a variety of finished products (possibly with an irregular demand pattern where planning is not possible).
    The finished products are consumption-based.
The overall purpose of planning at component level is to procure components to stock (without sales orders) in order to react to
customer demand as quickly as possible.
check and revert back with your queries.

  • Costing Sheet in requirement class for Sales Order costing

    Hi Experts,
Could you please explain me the necessity of costing sheet in requirement class configuration.
There is a field for costing variant in requirement class. I hope costing sheet can be taken from that costing variant.
So what is the purpose of costing sheet in requirement class and could someone explain me the use of that field in requirement class.
What happens if the costing sheet in requirement class and costing sheet in costing variant mentioned in requirement class does not match.
    Thanks.
Edited by: DSK on Dec 18, 2011 3:21 PM

Costing Variant is assigned to Requirement class
Requirement class is assigned to Requirement type
Requirement type is assigned to Planning Strategy
Planning strategy is assigned to strategy groups
Strategy group is assigned to MRP3 tab in Material Master
System picks the costing sheet in requirement class
In this way product will be costed for Make to Order sale order costing.

  • Standard requirement class

Currently I donu2019t have sap system can any one tell me what is standard requirement class and requirement type for (sales order to delivery and billing normal case)
    Ahmed

    Hi ,
TOR is dependent on requirement type, requirement class, checking group and schedule line category.
Requirement class contains all the control parameters, required for demand mgmt/sales and distribution. The requirement class is the controlling factor for the availability check and the TOR for all sales document types.
Requirement Types are Texts that represent the planning  Strategy in any application (like demand mgmt/Sales & Distribution. A requirement type is allocated to a single requirement class, but a requirement class can be allocated to more than one requirement type. The requirement type is displayed in the sales order is based on the item category and the MRP type of the material.
    Hope it helps.

  • Beginning and ending playhead indicator in canvas at same time?

I noticed a stutter after burning my project. When I go back to the edit in FCP I notice that where the stutter is one clip shows both the beginning indicator and the ending indicator at the same time...then the next clip shows just the beginning indicator? I have tried to re-enter the clips... and they are not overlapping??? No help...The field dominance is consistant at Lower? Any ideas?

I searched down the timline and found an audio track
that ended one frame too soon...extended it and it
corrected the indicator problem...won't know if it
corrected the stutter until I burn it aga
When you said "stutter" I assumed that you meant like a video glitch such as a frame of video that creates a "jumpy" look at that spot in the timeline. Have we been talking about an audio stutter?
Compressing out to DVD shouldn't make the difference. Compression creates and MPEG2 and AIFF file suitable for DVDSP, but it doesn't create "stutters" That's either in the timeline or it isn't.

  • Consumption indicator PIR Requirement class

In OMP6 and in md61 user parameters settings, i see these following options for consumption indicator for requirement class
    Consume only with customer requirements
    Only consume reservations, dependent requirements
Consume customer reqmts, reserv., dependent reqmts
Flexible Consumption for Different MRP Elements (BAdI)
    No Allocation
but in "define strategy" configuration node, I see different options for consumption indicator for the same requirement class
    No consumption with customer requirements
    Consume planning with assembly
    Consume planning w/o assembly
    Consume planning material (w/o assembly)
    what is the difference?

    Hi Swathi,
I hope my explanation can help you.
consumption which you set in planning strategy and per requirement class has different function.
as we know, consumption in planning strategy has option:
    No consumption with customer requirements
    Consume planning with assembly
    Consume planning w/o assembly
    Consume planning material (w/o assembly)
This option has function if your planning will be consumed by sales order or not.
No consumption with customer requirements -> this consumption make your planning will not cosume by customer requirement, such as using strategy planning make to stock (strategy 10)
Consume planning with assembly                  -> This consumption make your planning will be consumed by customer requirement
Consume planning w/o assembly                   -> This consumption make your planning will be consumed by customer requirement, but only use for planning without assembly (strategy planning 50)
Consume planning material (w/o assembly)   -> This consumption use for planning with planning material (Strategy 60)
Consumption in requirement class, is to define what kind of requirement will be consume PIR. (This indicator will be usefull if you set consumption in planning strategy) :
    1. Consume planning with assembly
    2. Consume planning w/o assembly
Actually, for planning strategy planning with final assembly (strategy 40) and planning t/o final assembly (strategy 50) consumption indicator will be set to 1 (consume only with customer requirement).
for strategy planning, planning at assembly level with final final assembly (strategy 70) and planning at assembly level w/0 final final assembly (strategy 74) consumption indicator will be set to 2 or 3 . why strategy 70 and 74 is set to 2 or 3, where will be consume by dependent requirement and reservation?
because with strategy 70 and 74, we plan not the finish good, but in semi finish good level.
so if we already plan in semi finish good, and there is requirement for semi finish to produce finish good, PIR that already create before (in semi finish level) must be consume with dependent req/reservation of finish good (to prevent duplicate production order in semifinish good).

    Hi,
That's the whole point. I don't want to use x:TypeArguments on a ResourceDictionary but the compiler says it needs it.

  • Availability check box at schedule line level and requirement class level

    Hi All
What is the significance of availability check field at schedule line level and requirement type level.
If I remove the check box at schedule line level, then there won't be any availability check carried out in the sales order, even though in requirement class it is checked. Is it for doing availability once the requirement is passed to MRP...
In make to stock scenario, no availability check is active at schedule line level.
scenario 1. stock is 0 in plant, when i place an order for 10 quantity, does system give any confirmed quantity on so and so date...or the confirmed quantity will be zero or as there is no availability check carried out, it confirms 10 quantity on customer requested delivery date and the time of creation of delivery, it gives an error message stating zero quantity is available. which one is correct in all the above.
In make to order scenario, no availability check is active at schedule line level.
order was created for 10 qty, as there is no availability check active, does the system give some date based on the lead times maintained in the material master or not?
    Regards
    Sree

    Hi sreekar
The significance of availability check at schedule line level  is to determine weather availability check and TOR should be carried out for sales orders  or not.
If you remove check box at schedule line level , availability check and TOR wont be  carried out at sales order level.
Coming to the scenario you said , make to stock , i think the availability check you are using is 01 make it 02. which is planned requirements. and stratergy group as 10. in MRP3 view in MMR. .
as the availability check u have put 01 & stratergy group as 10 availability check doesnt carry
coming to the scenario 2  , if the stock is 0 in plant and if you create a sales order, then the confirmed quantity should be 0 and that particular order will go to backorder processing.
sometimes it  confirms the ordered quantity as the  confirmed qunatity, and it gives a confiremed delivery date on which the stock is confirmed , but that date is a tentative date.
all these unconfirmed orders will go to backorders. once the qunatity is confirmed automatically , delivery date also will be done
Coming to scenario 3 , when you create MTO order there will be availability check checked at the schedule line level. can you tell wat is the schedule line you are getting is it CP or ND?
for schedule lines , ND - no availability check will be there , PD - availability check will be there
Note: plz check 1st the availability check you have entered in MMR , if it  is 01 make it as 02. and then run these cycles.
Reward points if useful and if Any queries let me know

  • "Valuation" field in requirement class

    Hi Experts,
Could you please explain the difference between
    1) "Valuation" field in requirement class
           and
    2) "Consumption" field in account assignment category field (assigned in requirement class)
    Thanks,
    GAN
Edited by: DSK on Feb 8, 2012 3:26 AM

    Hi,
Valuation field defines the whether the sales order stock should be valuated or non valuated.
    Consumption indicator functions as follows.
If the sales order is assigned with any cost objects like cost center, order etc it will get consumption indicator in delivery document
    in the following strategy.....
1> Delivery item category assigned to requirement type - OVZI
2> Requirement type assigned to requirement class - OVZH
3> Requirement class has the consumption indicator - OVZG
When you create delivery, system will determine delivery item category and it pull all the values from the requirement class associated with tha item category. This is the way it gets consumption indicator .
    Also check note 161729.

  • Requirment class & Procedure for each schedule line category

    Hi all,
In requirment class we have a switch on/off indicator for avai check and TOR.In define procedure for schedule line category also we have the same.
If I dont want the system to carry out availabilty check, I can switch off the indicator in requirment class or at schedule line category.
My question is why we have these indicators in 2 places.
It is written we can fine tune these settings at Define procedure for schedule line category settings
Could anyone explain in details with Business scenarious
    Thanks in advance
    Mano

    Hi,
    1. Availability check at Requirements Class level -
The requirements class contains all control features for planning such as relevance for
planning, requirements planning strategy and requirements consumption strategy.
In addition, it is specified at a global level whether an availability check is to take place for
the material in the sales and distribution documents on the basis of the ATP quantity
(ATP = available to promise) and whether requirements are to be passed on.
    2. Availability check at Schedule line category level -
A finer degree of control can be obtained for sales documents using the schedule line category.
Replenishment lead time is only included in the check performed on the basis of the
    ATP quantity.
You can control with the schedule line category whether an availability check and
transfer of requirements should be carried out in the sales documents.
    Note -
    1. At the global requirements class level, the availability check can only be switched on in combination with the transfer of requirements. At schedule line level, the settings are proposed from the requirements class.
    2. If the availability check is switched on at requirements class level, it can be switched off at schedule line level. However, you cannot switch on the availability check at schedule line level, if it is switched off at requirements class level. You can make this setting at schedule line level. But the system ignores it and the setting for the requirements class applies.
    3. Also, at schedule line level when the availability check is switched on, the transfer of requirements can be switched off. For example, this makes sense for inquiries or sales information.
    4. The settings specific to schedule lines for performing an availability check are only relevant for sales documents. In the shipping documents, the settings from the requirements class and the delivery item category are used. As with the schedule line category, the availability check can be switched off as required in the delivery item category.
    regards
