Requirement in equipment calibration

Dear All,
I have some requirement in the equipement calibration as given below.
1)  Next call date should be less than 1 day for the next call . Means if my cycle time is 1 month, and start of cycle is on 15th then next plan date should be 1 day before, next call should be on 14 of next month and further moving ahead it should be on 13 on the next month and so on. Is it possible in standard SAP or any custom development.
2) Next call date should be based upon the UD date. Means if my cycle time is 1 month, and start of cycle is on 15th. Now in this case if i completed inspection lot processing on 20th then next call should be calculated based upon the UD date and it should be 20th of next month.
How these two scenerio can be handled.
Regards
Amit

Hi Jogeswara,
Thanks for the updates.
Just want to ask you another query that, in case of fixed date scheduling
system will generate the call on fixed date of each month. e. g every 15th day
of each month in case of monthly schedule. But if I started the schedule on
31st then system will generate the next call on 30 of next month and it will
call on 28 in case of Feb month and then it will continue to generate calls on
28th date only. But my business requires to generate call in the
last day of the month.
In this scenario how to handle the situation.

Amit

  • Error QE503- in QE11 transaction (results acquisition) for Equipment calibration

    Hi Gurus
I'm working on QM-PM environment to set-up a Equipment Calibration process.
I've defined a  routing for Equipment, and I've linked few Quantitative Inspection characteristics to the PM Order Operation.
When I run IP10 to schedule the Maintenance plan defined for the equipment, the system create fine a Lot Inspection.
When I try to set the inspection result using QA32/QA11 the system isssue the Error  "QE503-Enter a valuation for this qualitative characteristic"
rather Inspection charactristics are defined QUANTITATIVE !!
    Where is the error ??
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Claudio

    Hello ,
Whenever you are working in QM/PM environment , your using inspection point as well as define sampling procedure in task list so that inspection lot created w.r.t equipment. Now because you are using inspection point w.r.t equipment i.e. 300 then definitely you check and if not maintained then maintain the inspection point valuation in QM customizing in plant level settings.
Before UD it is required to put the valuation against the inspection point and then post the UD.
goto QM---> Basic setting---> Plant level---> Define inspection point valuation.
Now, as you said this is related to MIC, please provide the screen shot of Error message. If any assignment is there then system will provide you the MIC number for which it is required.
Another, check whether you selected the correct task list or not. i.e. same Grp but different grp counter. it may possible that mistakenly you selected the another grp counter.
Check all master data first, and then go to customizing part for correction.

  • Equipment  Calibration

    Dear All,
I am implementing equipment calibration in one of our client .
I have one issue. In case of equipment calibration suppose sheduling start date is 17/06/2009 and calibration frequency( cycle time ) is 10 days. Now when i will shedule the maintenace plan today i.e 17/06/2009 for this equipment system is creating maintenace order hence inspection lot today only .
The system is showing shedule date in sheduling overview  correctly as 26/06/2009 and inspection date in inspection lot as 26/06/2009.
    But
My requirement is that the system should  generate order and inspection lot on its due date only that is on 26/06/06 because  If i sheduled the background job today for these equipment the system will generate inspection lots today only .
    Thanks
    Amol

    Hi
Your stsrt of cycle is 17/06/2009
    Cycle is 10 days
so Lot is cretated for 26/06/2009 as pe cycle.
My requirement is that the system should generate order and inspection lot on its due date only that is on 26/06/06 because If i sheduled the background job today for these equipment the system will generate inspection lots today only .
as this was the first lot which you have created after start of cycle it is showing future date.
But when you through IP30/SM37 then it will only create the lots of due date..Provided that in IP30 you maintain Interval call object 1 day
    This will solve your Problem

  • Tset equipment calibration

    Dear All,
How to carry out test equipment calibration without integration of PM module. Its my client's requirement but they don't have PM module implemented. Is there any way to resolve in QM module itself.
    Regards,
    Manoj

calibration without PM will be very much customized approach as I know
1.You have to define the plant maint order type like PM01 to PM05
2.In the customization you have to assign the origin 14 to the PM05.
3.Also master data like work center ,maint plan or Equipment master.
Also you have to define the basic settings like serial number & number range for this order type.
Then only lot will be created.& RR can be done.
Otherwise you have to customize whole module as Z development as per requirement.

  • Equipment calibration process

    Hi experts,
in  equipment  calibration  process we have created a plan and scheduled.
maintenance order with inspection lot created.Calibration completed and closed.
But for the next calibration due date again we have to save the schedule (IP10)
in order  to create maintenace order with inspection lot automatically by the system.
is there any solution for this problem so that we don't have to save the schedule again and again to create maintenance order automatically ? Plz answer.

When you create a maintenance plans for calibration in the third tab you will find sort field, define one sort field specific to calibration in configuration and attach it with your all calibration plans. Now after completing the calibration work don't forget to run the dead line monitoring program. Simple select the sort field and execute it will not take more than a min and all your next planned dates will be adjusted automatically

    Hi Kent999
    Process :
Equipment Calibration will be planned as a single cycle plan and scheduling will be done using Scheduling Parameters.
Calibration order will be created through dead line monitoring functionality and system will generate Inspection lot. Based on the master inspection characteristic parameters and sampling procedure inspection lot will be processed. Results of the testing will be recorded and valuated. System will provide an indication whether the parameters are with in the acceptable limits and usage decision can be taken for acceptance / rejection of the calibration.
Maintenance order can be confirmed, technically completed.
    Steps :
u2022     Create task list with Inspection points & MIC
u2022     Create Single Cycle Plan for Test Equipment -- If applicable
u2022     Assign the Task list with Master Inspection Characteristic

  • Calibration status for equipment

    Hi,
I want to know the calibration status of equipment.i.e anytime if i want the status i should get it.is there any standard functionality for this.?

    Hi,
Through User Status, you can check the current status of the Equipment i.e., whether the equipment is available or under calibration.
If you want to see no. of times, the particular equipment calibrated, go to IW39, give the Calibration Order Type & Equipment No and select all the options (In process, completed, etc.,), so that you can list the orders created.

  • Calibration Reports

    Hi Expert,
I am new in QM Module. Let me know about Calibration report.
My user requirement is - In Calibration report the system should show calibration due date.
Is any standard reports available in SAP? or I have to develop new report. If develop then what are the tables & fields needed to it. Please gives me Expert suggestion.

    HI Rahul
Calibration Process covers PM & QM functionality. Following are the steps
    1. create equipments as test equipments which require calibration (IE01)
    2. Create any type of task list (equipment/general) (IA01/IA05) with inspection point(3000assigned to it in task list header
    3. create maint plan(calibration plan) using IP01 for the test equipment where you need to mention schdulng parameters & frequency of calibration.
schedule the plan in IP10/ip30 - order will be generated based on the frequency & last calibration date i.e
if frequency is 1YR & last calibration date is 01.01.2011 then order with basic start date -01.01.2012 will be generated for calibration of that equipment.
You release the order & inspection lot will get generated.
Record result in QE11/qa32/qe51n and Usage decision in QA32/qa11
For report of calibration list with due date you will get it in IW38/39
where list of order & equipments with basic start date (calibration due) you will get
    or
IP24 - you will get the list of calls with equipment/maint(calibration) plan

  • Calibration vs Inspection Plan

    Hi QM Gurus,
I have measured diameter by using Micrometer or any other instrument.
My requirement is if the instrument is not calibrated that time system will not allow to carry the result recording for particular character which is measured be the Non - calibrated instrument.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Babusingh.S

    Hi,
As suggested by Craig you can create equipment as PRT and assign it to operation in inspection plan but even though equipment calibration is expired , system will not stop the resulting reocrding as system does not check equipment status while result recording. you may need to user user exit to activate this functionality.
    Thanks

  • Purchase orders for equipment rentals

We often rent equipment for durations of between 1 - 12 months.  Usually we do not know ahead of time how long we will be requiring the equipment, so we would issue an "open purchase" order that is valid until we return the equipment.  We are invoiced usually on a monthly basis from our vendor.
Is it possible somehow to enter a PO into SAP Business One that stays open?
For example, on the PO we would have the following:
    Quantity - 4
    Item - Rental Truck
    Unit Price - 1,000
This would be for the rental of 4 trucks, at a rate of 1,000 per month.  However, when we get the first invoice, the quantity would be 4 x 1,000, which automatically closes the PO.
Alternatively, if it was possible to enter in a "time" quantity in addition to the "unit" quantity then we could just overestimate the length required, and close the PO once the equipment has returned.  For example,  enter unit quantity of 4 (4 trucks), and time quantity of 12 (longest duration possible).  It wouldn't really work to enter in time x unit quantity of 36, because then we wouldn't be able to track how many units we have on rental at one point in time.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    You could try to do:
    Jan 4 trucks x 1,000
    Feb 4 trucks x 1,000
    Mar 4 Trucks x 1,000
    Apr 4 Trucks x 1,000
    May 4 Trucks x 1,000
    etc.
Goods Receipt PO Each Month, when you get to Dec/12th Month you could add more or start a new PO

  • Automatic Creation of Equipment Master

    Hi Experts
I have gone through lot of discussion available on forum but still Asset Equipment link is not working.
I would like to create Equipment when I create Asset.
    I have done below settings.
    1) Asset Accounting --> Master Data --> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master -> Specify Conditions for Synchronization of Master Data
here i have assigned equipment category and object type and selected direct synchronization after saving in Create Equipment
    2) Asset Accounting --> Master Data --> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master -> Assign Master Data Fields of Assets and Equipment
here i have assigned fields here.
When I create asset and save its only creating assets and even not getting error message . I have also checked screen layout and equipment is optional and not seems to be a problem.
To see whether synchronization functionality works I have done settings from Equipment to Asset creation and it's working but that's not the requirement.
I have changed the settings back to the 1) above to create equipment when asset is being created and it's not working.
So to summaries when I create Asset - No equipment is created but if i change settings other way then asset is getting created from equipment.
My question is what settings are missing to create Equipment when I create Assets?
Is there any settings required from equipment side? any specific requirement on equipment category and object type?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Simple,
    1. Go to AOLK and check which tab layout is assigned to your asset class, to transaction group 'Others'.
    2. Go to AOLA select layout you found out at 1st step, then double click on 'Tab Page Titles'.
    3. Select tab page Allocations and click on position group on tab pages.
    4. Click on new entries and insert 'S0013', save.
after doing this you will be able to find 'equipment' box under allocation.
    and regarding asset synchronization..
Asset Accounting --> Master Data --> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master -> Specify Conditions for Synchronization of Master Data
In this step, under the box 'Edit Asset Master Record' mention,
Create Equipment                 2 Direct Synchronization after saving
Change Equipment               2 Direct Synchronization after saving
Make sure you do not have any other field 'required' in equipment creation and not assigned to asset field.
After doing this you should be able to get equipment created automatically..

  • FI-AA and the Automatic Creation of Equipment Master Records

Our client is currently on SAP R/3 4.7E and per SAP Notes 176056, 370884, 361520, releases above 4.6B should be able to automatically create an equipment resord master record from within FI-AA.  Configuration shows that undaer FI-AA Master Data the integration should be possible, but we have tested and cannot get it to work.  No equipment record is ever created.
Has anyone been successful in performing this function?
    What are we missing?
