Resizing output when exporting to Flash/SWF
Does anyone know if there is a way to resize the output when exporting a Keynote presentation to Flash/SWF? When you export to QuickTime, you can adjust the output size. I can't find a way to do that when exporting to Flash.
I think that's because the Flash output displays at whatever size you want when you embed it into a website. For example, you can't create a Keynote presentation smaller than 200x200. BUT, if you create at 200x200 and then, in your embed statement, change it to 100x100, then that's how it will display on your web page.

Mac Projector Crashes When exported From Flash CS5.5
Something strange that i noticed, when i had exported a presentation for a Mac,
on a 64 bit windows 7 using flash cs5.5.
the applicaton gets the paths of a few swfs from an XML file
and loads them one after the other.. there is a small bit of interactivity.
.. tested this projecter on various versions of MAC, it crashes often, crashes earlier if i switch applications. what follows here is a part of a report that was generated on an OS X 10.7.3,
works fine if the projector is exported from flash cs5.
i need it to work when exported from flash cs5.5.. any suggestions on what i need to change in my application so that it works when exported from flash cs5.5?
Your help would be appreciated Thanks in Advance

Using Premiere Pro CS3 When exporting as flash file poor picture quality
I'm using Premiere Pro CS3. I shoot green screen in HDV and work in 1440 x 1080. I have been capturing files in Premiere and sending them to Serious Magic Ulta 2. I use this program for keying and adding virtual backgrounds. I save these files as avi. with a resolution of 1440 X 1080. I then bring them back into Premiere Pro for final edit. When I export these video's encoded as mpeg2 theyplay very clear. I am now trying to export as flv. with alpha channel background and the resolution is poor. I working on the transparent background with walk on spokespersons that overlay the HTML page. When In try to play them on my computer the adobe media player is what comes up. I have downloaded flash player but it doesn't select it to play the video. I'm running windows Vista Business platform. What am I doing wrong.
Thanks for the reply.
The capture and editing have already been done in 1440 X 1080. Should I use this resolution rather than trying to bump it up to 1920 X 1080.
Thanks

Computer playback generally prefers square pixels. Make sure to set your output resolution to 1920 x 1080 using a Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) of 1.0 or Square.
See if that helps.

vendor : "Your Vendor";

The above code will produce a "error saving Pixel Bender Byte Code file" error when exporting for flash player in Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5.449694.
"dst = (sampleNearest(src, outCoord()));" works fine. And anything like "float4 a= float4(b);" will give same error.Thank you for the error report. I'll put it into our bug database. We're bottling things up for the current version. Gven the workaround, it is unlikely we'll be addressing this bug soon. Please accept my apologies for the annoyance this will cause.
In your second example, float4 a = float4(b), does it return an error if b is only a float4 or regardless of what b is? If b is a scalar float, for example, is the conversion performed correctly? If so, this could be an error that only crops up when using constructor/conversion syntax when the thing being converted is already the correct type.
Thanks,

FCP Freezes When Exporting to Flash Video (FLV)

Final Cut Pro: May quit unexpectedly when exporting to Flash
Last Modified: February 13, 2009
Article: TS2593
Symptoms
Final Cut Pro may quit unexpectedly when you export using QuickTime Conversion if you choose Flash Video (FLV) from the Format menu.
Products Affected
Final Cut Pro 6.x, Adobe Creative Suite 3 Flash Video Encoder
Resolution
This can happen if you use the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Flash Video Encoder and Final Cut Pro together. This issue does not occur with the Flash Video Encoder in Adobe Creative Suite 4. To work around the issue:
Choose File > Export > QuickTime Movie.
Be sure to enable Make Movie Self-Contained.
Open the exported movie in QuickTime Player.
Export the movie to Flash from QuickTime Player.
===
I just installed CS5, so I would think I shouldn't be bothered with an older, problematic Flash Video Encoder. I don't think I should have to convert an MOV file to an FLV file using QuickTime Reader or anything else. Why doesn't it export correctly out of FCPro 7.0.2?oh well.

Audio Missing When Exporting to Flash
When I export this Keynote presentation to Flash, I get an error message that says "Can't export an audio file because of an unknown error." Then it says that "Couldn't export a media file on slide 1" and so on for all 10 slides. It's basically a presentation that only has 10 slides, but audio that lasts about half an hour.
Each slide has an audio file dropped on it and they all play wonderfully in Keynote, but they won't export! I first tried it with MP3's then AAC's...same story. I didn't want to use AIFF's because of the size.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. This is very frustrating! Oh, I have QT Pro so that's not the issue either. What format are the audio files? If you created them in Quicktime as .mov files and placed each .mov file on a keynote slide they will not be recognized on export. The sound files will be fine if you export your keynote as a .mov.
To export as a Flash swf, change all the files to .aiff files. You can do this for each audio file by opening the audio file in QT and converting/exporting it as an .aiff file. Then place the new .aiff file on each slide but make sure to delete the original .mov audio or you'll have two sounds playing in the original keynote.

Exporting to flash/swf, losing drop shadow?
Hi guys, when I add drop shadow to 2d text in AE it looks fine in the RAM preview, but when I export to a SWF object its gone. I tried both the effect and layer style versions of drop shadow.. not really sure what the difference is anyways. Any ideas? Googled a bunch and couldn't find an answer.
We usually need to ask for clarification: how do you know the drop shadow really isn't there? If you're looking at a sample of the clip over black, it might be invisible. But Rick's usually got these things nailed. Drop shaodws from text require AE to create rasterized frames and that will change the processing of the output. As Rick says, it will be much larger because it will be a pixel-based movie of images rather than instructions for vectors.

Transition problems when exporting to flash
I built a DVD menu with transitions to the different submenus and when I exported the project to flash the transitions were in the wrong aspect ratio and at a lower quality. Is there a way to make it look more seamless?
Thanks,
MattYou may have encountered a problem that does not have a solution. I’m afraid you’ll have to use other software to generate large JPEG files.
See this technote:
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_18893_en-us
------- quote ------
Large files are giving out of memory errors when trying to export the files from FreeHand MX. For example, when exporting a file as JPEG with the settings of Resolution: 300 DPI, Anti aliasing: 2, Include Alpha: selected and Quality: 100% the program will generate an error: "Not enough memory to complete command."
Solution
No workaround has been found for this issue. It has been reported to the engineering team._ -
Hyperlink and Movie Functionality When Exporting to flash!
How do I get the hyperlinks and movie clips to work after I export my Keynote presentation to flash?
When Exporting to flashTo get the white background, you'll need to have a white background on the Keynote file. To have a white background and the left align on the web page, you'll need to set the HTML tags correctly. This can be done with Dreamweaver or any other HTML editor. (Not sure you'd be able to do it in iWeb, that program is one that I haven't begun to try to understand)
If you want to try editing the HTML file that is created with the flash file, you can download Taco HTML edit and on the body line add bgcolor="#FFFFFF" then on the div line add align="left" -
Dead hyperlinks when exporting indesign to swf file
I have a problem when I export a document to a swf. I have constructed ten boxes (features) with colour and text that link to pages. When I export to PDF they all work fine and dandy, but as soon as I try it as an SWF, with page turning, at least three of the hyperlinks stop. I have tried deleting and restarting and have even rebuilt the button. After that the hyperlinks have worked, but two or three of the others stop working. Is there a limit on the number of links per page?

DavidHi there, can you help me I can't get my hyperlinks to work when exporting a swf file. Do you know the code to get a button or a text to go to a webapge. I have used the get URL in the interactive menu and it doesn't work. I have then put in a get URL script which works but does point at the desired web page but into the route folder of my flip book. Any tips please Kind regards Ian

Export to flash swf from Slide Show module
If I work on a stunning slide show, with music et al, It would be perfect if I can export to a swf file and put it on a web site or left to clients on a CD.
Otherwise, as is now, I have to work twice: create a slide show and then a web flash site...There is nothing you are doingt wrong, the web people need to check their Flash stuff, most importantly realyl include al lthe files you provide them with. there's a reason why it spits out 4 files...

Hello
I've got a 280-page InDesign (CS5) document with invisible buttons/ hotspots throughout which I want to export as a SWF.
Once exported, the buttons/ hotspots appear to be sized/ positioned correctly on the first dozen or so pages. Afterwards, the hotspots are consistently sized and positioned incorrectly over the buttons; so that if you were to try and click on the button, you wouldn't actually be clicking on the hotspot at all.
Things I've tried so far:
Exporting the pages in smaller batches, rather than as a single 280-page file
Export the SWF at different sizes
Checking that the hotspost don't have any blank areas inside their boxes (in the same way you can move an image inside a picture box and have blank areas)
I've hit a wall with this – any help/ suggestions you're able to offer would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for your time. Thanks, but I have searched here but have not found or heard a direct answer to my question as stated above...

New MacPro Freezing when exporting to Flash FLV
Hey guys, Hope you can help. I have been trying to export some videos to an FLV file yet every time I try my MacPro gives me the pinwheel and FCP stops responding. A few things you should know:
I just go this MacPro for work (I'm at work). Specs are below. It's less than a week old.
I also just upgraded it to Leopard - It came with Jaguar and an upgrade DVD.
Also, my MacBook Pro exports to FLV just fine, which is still running Jaguar (it couldn't install Leopard correctly for some reason)
I installed FCP Studio2 via a transfer from my laptop during the initial startup of the MacPro.
Anyone had this happen? Now every time I need to export I have to transfer everything over to the laptop. For those who haven't figured it out yet, encoding to Flash thru Final Cut Pro (doesn't matter what version) seems to be choking on Leopard's system.
I have a Quad 3.0gHz MP with 9GB of RAM exporting to Flash all the time and it works great...whereas on my 2.4gHz IC2D 17" MBP with 4GB of RAM it chokes.....
I did some research and the reason is simple....Leopard and FCP's Flash exporting do not mix well. On the MP, I'm still running 10.4.11 and everything exports fine...no spinning beach ball of death, and it exports quickly. It exports JUST as quickly on my MBP, BUT because I have Leopard (10.5.2) on it, it hangs.
If you check where the file is being saved on your comp/external hard drive, you'll see that even though FCP "Isn't responding," that it IS in fact still encoding, but Leopard for some reason doesn't like the encoder or something involved with it.
I know this doesn't solve the problem, but that is the reason as to WHY it is hanging...any system with Leopard rendering out to Flash will have this issue until Apple releases an update for the fix.. -
Export error when exporting to Flash

Really what good is this product if you can't export to
Flash?
Believe it or not, this product can actually be used quite
satisfactorily without ever needing to export to Flash. I'm
guessing you are of the camp that views Captivate as simply a
"Flash add on" that is used only as a mechanism to move something
into Flash for subsequent tweaking. While this is certainly
possible, it was never the primary intent. Had that been the case,
you would see much tighter integration between the products.
Now before I instigate a long tirade about how this is Adobe
and they are huge and should make all their products work
seamlessly together, I'd like to point out that they are dealing
with a product that has had at least four different owners. So the
tight integration isn't there yet, but they are making strides.
Sincerely... Rick
